Amazing hotel. I travelled with my daughter and everything was just wonderfull: The location, staff, decoration, breakfast. We had superior-room where minibar and nespresso was included. Allso a view to the London Eye (6th floor) was just something we did not expect! Like Ritz but with a modern twist. I will definitely come back here!

Lovely afternoon tea in a dedicated room overlooking the Strand as across into Trafalgar Square. Plenty of fresh sandwiches, scones and cakes with teas of your choice. Delicious. Great value and attentive staff in classy but non pretentious surroundings.

Been here 3 times recently — twice for lunch and once for evening drinks. Service always exceptional, food lovely, and it’s just such a brilliantly located hotel, lovely decor and a really welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Highly recomend! I stayed for the London Marathon coming from USA. Staff was amazing, food was great, room was super clean. The hotel is right next to the train/tube station which is also centrally located near everything you would ever need! Exiting the marathon, it was a very short walk from the finish line. We stayed in the deluxe twin beds. The mini bar is well stocked everyday with complimentary drinks. Also there was a little sweetie jar which was on a nice touch.
It was a special birthday occasion, when we entered our room there was a lovely chocolate cake left with a card.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Location is fab and hotel feels like a London hotel not a chain can't quantify what that means but feels old but modern love it and staff are excellent especially Maria on check in who upgraded us to a fabulous suite which she didn't have to do but due to certain circumstances was a lovely suprise during a very stressful week so very much appreciated and very thoughtful of her.

I got a Groupon meal deal — 3 courses & a glass of Prosecco for £19.95 pp, and I booked for 3 people for a pre theatre meal. We were impressed with the hotel and the restaurant. The location is superb — next to Charing Cross — and we were seated in the glass fronted section of the restaurant with fabulous views of The Strand and up to Trafalgar Square. The meal was amazing for the price and portions, except for the mullet, were generous. I didn't want dessert and was able to have extra vegetables instead. I would definitely return if I got another Groupon deal.

Very nice hotel and very centrally placed right next to Trafalgar Square, Covent garden and all the theatres. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend to anyone travelling to London.

I always look forward to my regular stays at the Amba. All of the staff are absolutely amazing and so welcoming. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything you could possibly need.
This week I had a surprise delivery from the Food & Beverages manager Asif Bajwa which was a real treat — thank you ever so much! One member of staff who really stands out for me is Priscilla — it is always such a joy to see her and be welcomed by her in the restaurant on an evening, she always remembers me and exactly what I like to eat and drink The staff are an amazing credit to this hotel A fantastic hotel all round! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Met up with friends for an evening meal, celebrating a birthday. Starters, main & desert, was delicious. Everyone sang happy birthday, and we thoroughly felt “special. ” Staff were at hand and welcoming.

Booked the Amba for my wife's birthday and we had an amazing stay! From the first class customer service (particularly Niels and Alexandra) to the upgraded room (because we arrived early and our room was not ready) to the personal card and chocolates to the lovely food and exceptional room quality! Can't rate this hotel highly enough. Will definitely be coming back!

Wow! We've been recreational travellers for quite a while, and we're accustomed to lowering expectations (I recently wrote here about our Toronto experience). This is our third visit to this hotel, and if anything, it is improving with age! We have a much larger (wheelchair) room than most here, so our opinion is somewhat influenced, but London hotel rooms are famously compact. We are delighted to be here; the comfy bed, good food, super staff… not to mention the brilliant location, close to everything. As my dad used to say "i can't think of a thing to be mad at! "

Attended an afternoon tea event. Everything was superb, nice views and the hotel is way too impressive. Luckily for us it wasn't an expensive event (you might be able to find discounts on internet). Very friendly staff.

We went here for a high tea. The building is very nice, the food was good, I was thinking that it would be more to eat based on the cost, the tea selection was very good. Would recommend.

The real British respectable hotel, all like Arthur Haley.

The venue was nice and quiet considering it is right next to Caring Cross Station. I enjoyed my meeting there. The only downside is the service was a bit slow. W had to ask for bills three times before we had it.

We went for afternoon tea. The food was fresh, plentiful and delicious. The service was also very good. This is the second time I have been to this hotel and on both occasions have been very satisfied with the customer service and quality of food. Would definitely recommend this place as conveniently located and beautiful ambience.

Modern rooms inside a classic landmark. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, the rain showers are a great way to start or end the day. The breakfast buffet has a delicious spread of well prepared standard choices accompanied by a short well thought out a'lecart menu. The dining room is above average with a satisfying list of dinner and room service choices. My go to resting place in central London.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights over Christmas. We had a great time. The hotel was centrally located, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were very friendly/helpful. We enjoyed room service and were happy to see the reasonable prices. The rooms were a bit small, but I'm sure this is to be expected in London. Our only real issue was the noise coming from the street. Between the traffic and people congregating outside the hotel, it was extremely hard to sleep through the night. Other than that, it was perfect.

Perfect location to visit London's most important attractions using very little public transport. The National Gallery is a three minute walk away. The rooms are spacious (rarity in London) with well-kept furnishings and good cleanliness. Bed mattress very comfortable. The breakfast is not bad, little varies the section dedicated to dessert.

The best London location bar none. Sitting at Charing Cross station, this hotel has everything you need for your stay in London. Because it is right beside Charing Cross you have easy access to places anywhere in London and beyond. Obviously given it's location this venue is walking distance to many great locations in the heart of the city. The rooms are great and the beds are wonderful to sleep in. Wifi is strong and the water in the shower hot. Staff are friendly and serve your needs as required. Good variety of foods for breakfast too. Without a doubt — select this venue as your base for your next trip to London. Insider tip : Embankment station is a 1 minute walk away and provides for additional lines within the underground network.

A very nice hotel adjacent to Charing Cross Station on the Strand. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are very nice, clean and spacious. Big TV, free minibar with soft drinks, chocolate and crisps. Bathroom is large, a full bath and large shower with rain head. The bar on 1st floor is spacious, made up of three rooms, live music with piano, and a bar with comprehensive selection of beers and spirits.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The included minibar is a nice extra. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you with all your questions. The breakfast is very good. We also did an afternoon tea at the hotel and we enjoyed this too.

Nice spot for an afternoon tea. Friendly, attentive staff and a well decorated restaurant with a nice ambience for this sort of thing. The food and teas were good too. A couple of the desserts were a little too inventive at the cost of balanced flavour mixes but we appreciated the presentation. The view isn't anything special but there isn't much the hotel can do about that.

After travelling to many many countries and staying in even more hotels over the years, I can honestly say this is the BEST hotel I've ever experienced.
It's not just a room & a bed, staying at the Amba Hotel Charing Cross is an experience. Everything about the hotel oozes luxury & top quality, professional service from all staff. Above and beyond all expectations & previous experiences elsewhere.
After contacting management to notify of last minute flight changes & a late arrival, we were warmly welcomed at 1am with a quick checkin, drink of water & a free upgrade to an executive suite.
The location is unbelievable, so convenient & central! A walk down the street & you are in Trafalgar Square!
The buffet breakfast is a must-do if you want a choice of everything you can possibly wish for… & if you're seated in the terrace, an exciting view to start the day.
You will not walk through the hotel without staff warmly greeting you. The in-room tablet had lots of helpful information for us as tourists which was much appreciated & we loved the Smart TV too. FREE snacks & drinks daily in our room fridge was an extra special touch.
The bed — like sleeping in a perfect cloud… we wanted to take it with us! Seriously the best bed ever, we miss it & are looking at buying one!
So many positives, that even though we were continuing our travels, we didn't want to leave.

Old fashioned elegance and afternoon tea, served, as it probably was in the 50s. Beautiful sweeping staircases and attentive staff add to the decadence of the luxurious feel. Nothing is too much trouble and their aim is to satisfy. Toilets reflect the ambience but are beautifully clean and maintained. I didn't stay in one of the guest rooms, but if the public area is anything to go by, then I would say, I'd highly recommend it as a place to stay when travelling to, and staying in, the West end of London.

We got in late and they were there to let us in and get us situated in our room quickly. The night manager first offered Waters and explained there were also complementary snacks and drinks in rooms. The whole place was super nice! We could see the Thames from our room. The rooms were clean and bedding was very tidy and neat. All extra beds were set up and ready for us, all 4 of us were comfortable immediately. The bathroom facilities were modern and we'll taken care of. The multiple water/shower sources were nice. Switching from the overhead rain style to the wand easily made getting ready in the morning quick and relaxing. The location was the main reason we selected this hotel, we would do it again for many reasons now! Hospitality, service, appearance and etc…

I stayed at Amba Hotel Charing Cross, and it was a great experience as expected because of average 5-star rating on TripAdvisor after a few thousands reviews! From the best location for tourists (it's walkable to most attractions and located near Covent Garden next to the big Charing Cross station) to courteous and helpful staff to free water everywhere (minibar, front desk, gym) to keep guests hydrated! The minibar is also complimentary even there are only a couple of items besides water and soda. Big shoutout to the young gentleman Nick at the front desk who was helpful during my stay including helping to haul my too many huge luggage pieces to the Uber pickup point nearby! Oh, and there is champagne at the front desk to enjoy If I need to be picky, I wish the gym could be bigger as it's pretty small and there are only 2 treadmills (I had to wait for my turn) … Will stay here whenever I can visit London again.

I think this hotel is very good for its location, the staff are excellent and the food was good. I am lucky to stay in lots of excellent hotels so I rate this one as very good. The room was nice but small for the price, the room service was fast, the room service food was very tasteless though which was a shame. However the hotel is good and I would recommend it.

The service at this hotel was fantastic. The staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The suites are not the largest but the location can’t be beat. The free Wi-Fi with no password was a great bonus that often goes overlooked at other hotels. The only negative side of the hotel is that the area where the hotel is located (Charing Cross) can be a little sketchy and noisy at night; not enough so that I would avoid the hotel though. I would definitely return in the future. Thanks for the great stay!

Just attending a training event, but the staff were very friendly and helpful and the desserts were some of the best I have ever experienced in the context of conference suite facilities. Nice clean toilets. Lovely carpet.

The hotel is inviting and calm but was very empty, with no visible staff on the front desk. I didn't see any staff until we got into the bar. The waitress was not particularly welcoming and didn't seem very engaged. Drinks were nice and came with nuts, as would be expected it was quite expensive but then all London hotel bars are. For somewhere quiet and comfortable to have a drink in central London it's perfect.

I went here about a year ago for a week’s vacation. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about London. The room was nice, although mine was facing The Strand, so it was quiet loud. Breakfast was superb and the lounge in the afternoon had snacks. Overall, a fantastic experience!

At first glance, a very nice hotel. Rooms are clean and very nicely designed. Free use of Ipad, Nesspresa machine & minibar. Unfortunately, the glasses were not made clean after use. There was probably only a talt cloth wiped over it, because the old coffee laps were still seen … Unfortunately not so nice either, was the bed. It was quite hard for us, but on demand we got a blanket under it from the nice service staff and so it was a little better. :) The décor looks very cozy and luxurious. I really liked that.
We were still unlucky with the thin windows, because on 4 days a street musician started playing with his electric guitar at about 11 o 'clock at night. That wasn't quite so sparkling.
At breakfast for 12lbs you could enjoy the small buffet. It was delicious but could have calmly given some extra choice for that prize.
The best thing about the hotel is the location. From there you could easily reach many attractions on foot (Big Ben about 15 min) If you wanted to go further away, you could also comfortably rent a bike for 2 pounds for 24h (Every first half hour is free) Ubahn unfortunately costs quite a lot (about 4, 60 a stretch/person).
Oystercard is already cheaper, but you should find out more about it before you travel. We didn't need Londonpass at all.
We ate well at "the Diner" and at "Garfunkel's. " With the latter there are delicious cakes, you should definitely try them (pecanpie and applecrumble) * delicious.

My husband surprised me with a 2 night stay here for my 30th this weekend… wow! What can I say… amazing! Should be 5 star! Upon arrival we were greeted with a very pleasant warm welcome and to our surprise we were upgraded to the top suite as it was a special occasion… it was superb! Free mini bar… topped up both days… lovely big bed… sofa… bath robes/slippers… a lovely touch of a I pad for your room which was brilliant to plan our way round London for the weekend. Very clean and tidy in both room and. Breakfast was lovely… very easy and straight forward… morning staff very attentive. We treated ourselves to afternoon tea which normally you have to book but after several hours shopping… they squeezed us in which was very good and it was yummy! The staff were outstanding… at every opportunity they would have a warm welcome/hello and nothing was a problem. We will definitely be returning here. Thank you to all the staff at Amba Hotel Charing Cross for making by birthday weekend extra special.

I've been to the lounge a few times and tea and coffee is close to the price of most high street brassieres. But with added friendly bar waiting service and maybe a couple of biscuits or pot of mixed nuts. It's like a hidden little gem. Seating is very comfortable and relaxing, tables spacious and there's an overall lovely ambience. I love this place will recommend it :).

Absolutely stunning. Staying for a week on our honeymoon. The staff has been incredible, and we came back to the room with a bottle of champagne and dessert waiting for us. The room is spacious and comfortable. I don't think I will ever stay anywhere else in London ever again!

The location, in the Centre of the city, attention and perfect service. At night you hear a bit of buzz, something normal for the movement of people at the train station.
The price is a little high.

Great service and nice employees. Issues (if any) were quickly resolved. The breakfast was quite good as well. As for location, it's really close to the inderground, which is a big plus in my book. The Wi-Fi is usually pretty fast. I did however experience slowdown once or twice. Overall, I dont have any noteworthy complaints and really enjoyed my stay here.

We spent our 5th year anniversary in Amba hotel back in February and it was an excellent pick! Starting with the warm welcome in the reception, following with a specious room including a free minibar, Nespresso machine and a cattle for tea and continuing with a great breakfast. The location is just perfect — close to the Charing cross underground and railroad station and just a short walk to the Embankment underground station. We also walked to many of the nearby sites — Trafalgar square, the Soho and St. Paul's cathedral. We highly recommend the hotel and would probably get back to the same one on our next trip.

Our room renovated, very nice, Thank you very much, through the room window, saw the London Eye Ferris Wheel, the room was spacious and also had a free small bar. The hotel location is ideal, walk for a few minutes and you're there, scientific and cultural special garden, Westminster or in the city. The hotel next to the subway, to me, the most special is its first-class staff and services. Every thing done was well organized, all the staff always with a smile.

My wife and I spent a weekend in London in November, when we lived in the Charing Cross hotel. Turned out we selected this hotel is right. First hotel was lovely. Although it is an old building, but looks recently renovated. Room was a bit small, but still good, there is free Wi-Fi, drinks and snacks. Staff were very good, especially at the counter for your staff and service very good. Breakfast was delicious, that choice is somewhat limited, the breakfast room is not big enough, and people for a long time feel of the dining crowd. From position, however not many hotels in London is better than this. If we go to London will certainly choose this hotel again.

I have used the hotel bar on the first floor and it is brilliant for a quick snack with some cocktails. We normally go there after a theatrical performance and it is always good. Food is excellent especially the Club sandwich. I combine that with the French '75 cocktail. The people working there are friendly.

I visit the Amba frequently for coffee/drinks with clients. Pleasant professional sevice and atmosphere, and tables are far enough apart to assure discretion for customers. Highly recommend it.

Great location and faultless service. Smart and clean, with great facilities and nice touches such as the nespresso machine and iPad in the room, but don't get too excited as it's largely wasted because it only provides access to hotel facilities and internet search or maps. The only reason it falls short of a top rating is the inflated price that befalls all such London venues. Rooms and storage tend to be smaller than expected for deluxe king sized room, I've paid less for a huge suite with inclusive room service and beautiful location.

Our stay with the Amba was pleasurable. The staff was kind and helpful. Yet, of all things to assist in choosing a hotel, is location. If you are planning on exploring London the Amba could be perfect for you. All forms of transportation, shopping, and entertainment are near. Step outside the hotel and you are placed into the hustle of London life. Is there Amba the best hotel, no, but it can be a gateway to the heart of London.

In the same building as Charing Cross station, 1 min walk from Trafalgar Square and West End, just 10 walk to Buckingham Palace. This hotel is all about the location. Hard to find a better location for walking distance to all the major tourist attractions in West London.

A nice 6 night stay at Amba. Very central location and pleasant staff. Room was nice with a big shower and a (slightly finneckey) Nespresso machine in the room. The sheets were stained and not washed after 4 days, but after complaining the staff was very apologetic and brought complimentary wine. The breakfast is OK, good English but not much selection in other food.

Staff friendly. Good location. Hotel very has very nice interior but rooms are pretty standard. I've stayed twice for work — First room was 4/5 stars but room this time had somewhat of a moldy smell to it so I give it 3/5 stars. Bartender makes a decent drink, but cocktails are a bit expensive. Standard English breakfast.

We only stayed for one night but the room was fantastic. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and had under floor heating, and the room as a whole was impeccably clean and modern. The hotel building is fantastically grand, and the staff were very friendly. We did not try the breakfast as we made use of the generous 12:00 check out time and had a long sleep in. I will be staying here again in the future.

Very well. Super served by 2 subway lines just below the hotel and the other 2 just 4 metres. Super central, 1 minute from Trafalgar Square Room, without boasting, but with what is necessary. Breakfast ok, no more.

Perfect place to relax. I'm having a good time here at Charing Cross Hotel. I really wanted to stay here longer but I have my work days on it. Well as what I'm saying, is that this place is so beautiful. I like quality of this hotel. Very attractive and pleasant looking. The facilities are good. And the services was so fantastic. I like their staffs it's so easy to please and very helpful. So nice.
