Wow what can I say! From the beginning to the end of our stay the staff were vey attentive and made sure our stay was perfect. I booked three nights stay here to celebrate my boyfriend’s 30th birthday. The hotel staff were brilliant at helping this stay become more special by helping me arrange a surprise birthday package as he walked into the room (balloons, birthday banner, chocolates, a bottle of Prosecco in an ice bucket and also a personalised birthday card). The room was very clean, comfy and quiet. It also included great amenities. Very impressed with the tresemme hair dryer! Room and bathroom were a little smaller than anticipated but this did not matter. Definitely recommend visiting the Gin Palace on the ground floor! We loved the drinks there and they were reasonably priced. Also loved the central location of the hotel. One other thing I loved was that there was an option to go green (opt out of your room being cleaned). We did this for one of the nights we stayed and got to choose a reward for opting this (e. G. Free glass of house wine, £7 credit in their restaurants). Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

Just got back from a weekend stay to see Mary Poppins. Hotel is in a great location for getting about, rooms are spacious & really quiet considering on a main road. Sid very friendly on checking in & all staff we met throughout our stay were helpful & friendly. Bed was soooo comfy & plenty of pillows! Loved the extra special toiletries in the bathroom & if I had to grumble about anything, it would be the water pressure in the shower, which apparently is a problem in the area at the mo, so not a great deal the hotel can do about it, but if getting ready to go out, give yourself some extra time for washing hair! Highly recommend!

My husband and I have just had the most wonderful weekend in the Strand Palace Gotel. This is our 4th stay with you, our 1st post-covid. We absolutely love the refurb, Haxells is a great addition! Staff were all superb as usual. Our room was perfect. We are already looking forward to our next trip.

Good location that's all I can say about this place in a good way. Over 3 hours to sort out our room, staff are clueless, definitely stay away I've stayed in better Travel lodges.

Lovely hotel great location for all the attractions. Good value for money booking Direct with them you get a discount and free drinks Vouchers. We had a double deluxe room cleaned and stocked mini bar and bathroom white company toiletries and friendly Staff.

It best opportunity to get visiting with the greatest thing. That's when thought being takes place it might be able to become brought changes on her own business.

Thieves and horrific customer service. This hotel stole my money during COVID. It is impossible to travel from US to London right now yet they refuse to even give a partial refund of my money for a room I can never utilize. My friend's entire wedding was cancelled due to COVID and EVERY OTHER VENDOR refunded money to all parties. The Strand Palace however, feels entitled to keep the reservation money. They are stealing from all customers that are international. Shame on them. Hope karma catches up to the management of this hotel.

Great location for museum & theatre goers. Reasonable priced. Recently renovated. Rooms are small, but efficient and nicely appointed. I’ve been staying here for years and will continue to as long as they maintain their standards and prices.

I got upgraded to Refurbished room on 8th floor very quite lovely room. Stayed here many times over the years. My only issue and the reason for my upgrade was the new charge of £50 per night they hold from your account, it is returned to you when you leave, but when staying a week that's a lot of money you need for your holiday not when your going home. I think they should think twice about that.

Second time I stayed here. Very centrally located, and professional staff. The breakfasts are amazing! Being from the U. S. I love English breakfasts!

Overnight stay Stayed one night and was pleasantly surprised. It's on the Strand and very close to all the theatres. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and very spacious, which is rare for London. Breakfast was good too.

This was out first every international trip and our anniversary. The hotel and its staff was amazing. Ema helped us check in and advised us that our room didn't have AC but was able to get us into a room with AC in 2 days. She even provided us with a wonderful bottle of wine for our anniversary. The manager also provided us with champagne and macaroons to celebrate! Both rooms were wonderful. The upgraded rooms are comfortable and stylish. The layout of our particular room, with the TV, was a little weird but insignificant compared to how much we enjoyed our time there. The standard king room was nice, and we were provided with a little fan which helped with no AC. Loved being able to open to windows and hear the sounds of the street. Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The room service was amazing. The location was perfect! Within walking distance to basically everything, right in front of the Covent Gardens. We will always come back to this hotel!

Looks amazing on the outside, but the rooms are budget. We were supposed to be in a tell me room, good a room with 1 double bed. When they turned up with the "sofa bed" it was a pull out bed and they left it in front of the bathroom. We had no room to walk around. Very disappointed. You can find much better for your money.

The rooms are very small air conditioning though the site says there is a clean location in the center.

Great food. Stayed for a work trip. Standard single room. Both times I stayed was comfortable and had all I needed. Fan in the room too, which was helpful as the standard rooms do not have air con. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location for seeing London too.

English: Decent rooms, awesome breakfast and the staff is nice. The best part is that it is located in the center of London. You can walk to most highlights or you can simply use the metros or busses. Great overall. I gave it four stars because even though it's a great hotel, it is still London which automatically makes it really expensive. Dutch: Fatsoenlijke kamers, geweldig ontbijt en het personeel is aardig. Het beste deel is dat het zich in het centrum van Londen bevindt. U kunt naar de meeste hoogtepunten lopen of eenvoudigweg de metro's of bussen gebruiken. Geweldig in het algemeen. Ik gaf het vier sterren omdat, hoewel het een geweldig hotel is, het nog steeds Londen is, wat het automatisch erg duur maakt.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room I stayed was very small and had the minimum necessary. The bathroom was also small in size. It is a hotel with a lot of passenger movement, so getting place to have breakfast can be a problem in the times of greatest influx of guests. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Perfect location in the heart of London. We stayed for 10 days in May 2018. Easy to walk, take the tube or grab a cab to all the favorite sites. Steps away from west end shows and great restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. The service excellent. The morning breakfast buffet was delicious with a broad selection of both hot and cold. The Carvery Grill was lovely for a Sunday Roast, any day of the week. I would highly recommend the Strand Palace.

Solid 4 star hotel. The old rooms are in good shape. The recently remodeled rooms are modern and chic. 24hr room service with good selections. Friendly, personable staff. They remember who you are day to day. The current construction is barely noticeable and doesn’t start until after 8:30am. Two thumbs up for this well managed property.

Do not have nesquick or similar at the buffet. We had to stop several times to the reception because it was not working the lock of the room. The location unbeatable, and the bed super well.

The room is small, the window does not open, there is construction. The TV does not work, the shower seizes. There's no conder. Forgot to add one letter to the hostel. Tok's not for three pennies.

We were there for the afternoon tea in The Gin Palace. It was a lovely experience. The Gin themed cocktails were delicious and the food was lovely. The hotel was busy with a nice buzz and the staff were professional and attentive. Really enjoyed it.

I love this place, because the service is exceptional. The last time that I went there, I received a free mug and tea bags as there was a conference taking place. The rooms are beautiful and there is room service too. One can see a view of the busy London cabs, buses, and cars going along the road.

The Beach Hotel has unfortunately come a little over the years and is no longer in the look of what you find good today. For breakfast it is queued and waiting for a fairly average buffet.

This was definitely a wonderful hotel to stay in. Great customer service. Although in the higher price range for a quick stay it was close to almost everything so it made it accessible. Close to public transportation and shopping. Loved staying here. PS: I couldn't figure out how to work the heater for the life of me lol.

Well placed to go out and visit but know that the Nan Palace is no longer one! The rooms are OK but the price is Impeu raised the service is reactive but bruiant (check housekeeping 9am, Debarassage constent and heavy during the breakfast! Our stay was still pleasant.

Everything expensive in London hotel including but cmq acceptable coffee in the center and with good facilities. Decanted a breakfast that costs 12 pounds and it's no big deal.

The repair is cheap, halturny, and there is no refrigerator. The walls are thin. And the hotel is like a hotel.

Absolutely not in accordance with the stated 4 star but for me it's 2 only the Hol impresses small rooms and no air conditioning the only advantage is that it is in the center.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights. Went there for St Patrick's day celebrations. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Convenient to use as a base for sightseeing. One problem barman acknowledged me standing waiting to be served two girls with short skirts came in and he went straight to them ignoring me. Apart from that a pleasant enough stay.

There are some really good things about this hotel which include cleanliness, comfortable bed, good toiletries, a bar that I feel happy in sitting on my own. But the rooms are small and I had a view of a wall! The worst thing was the breakfast. Travelling on my own always makes self service breakfast a challenge. I spent a considerable time toasting bread and getting fruit juice, the waitress had brought my tea. I then went to queue for my eggs and bacon leaving everything else on my table untouched. I came back to find it being cleared. No apology I was told in broken English that I shouldn't have left it in the table. Very grudgingly she bought more tea. I felt very uncomfortable and it spoilt my stay. I did try to find someone to tell them about my dissatisfaction but there was no one available.

I had a pleasant stay here. I stayed in the Executive Suite. The room was decent and I had no problems. Really appreciated fully stocked tea, coffee and cookies in the room at no extra charge. A nice cup of tea with cookies after all day sight seeing was very relaxing indeed. The location of the hotel is great. Many buses on Strand to get wherever you need to go. The walk to the underground is about ten minutes from the hotel. I was initially walking to the Temple station but then realized that buses too worked well for my needs.

A really nice hotel with a good location. Breakfast was really, really good. Rooms are nice and the bed was really great. My only complaint would be the noise from the ventilation system, but I guess that is (or at least could be) very local to the room I was given and could probably be easily fixed by maintenance.

Very friendly staff clean rooms although small… If you do not have big claims because your interest and visit the city and especially look for a hotel in the city center from which to move comfortably I would say it is a solution OK… near C is the metro and CMQ taxis do service I continue in front of the palace! I'd say "promoted"!

Certainly the smallest room in the world, just like the beds. The "single" rooms are to be fled.
The espresso is charged in Supplement 2. £5 Breakfast. And the breakfast overall very standard. I will only keep from this hotel its location.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Strand Palace. The rooms are small compared to Canadian hotels which I was familiar. We upgraded to a king room and that felt better. The included daily breakfast was excellent. You have to ask for cream for your coffee, as all the tables normally have milk.

Excellent location directly at Covent Garden. But not exactly cheap, the breakfast was typically British but not particularly tasty. I was on the 7th floor, as the ceiling was so low that I encountered the lamps in the hallway, in the shower the shower head just so fit between my heads and the ceiling and the necessary posture because of the very cramped space for the Toiletteschüssel I hide better. The windows were equipped with wooden shutters in the room but so I *! #! % table were constructed that always half the window was darkened. Narrow, gloomy, sloping roof and old-fashioned… But the other floors could be better, looked at least from the outside like this.

The room is clean, bathroom clean (with a funny vibrating noise when you turn on the shower) and the location excellent — close to Trafalgar Square, theatres, shopping, bars and restaurants. The bus stop is right opposite the hotel, which is convenient if you have luggage you don't want to lift on the tube stations with stairs only. The food was great too and they let me check in earlier without having to pay extra. They served exactly the same breakfast for the 7 days I was there!

The worst hotel I have known in London.
During my 2 nights I did not stop feeling like I was in a hurry.
At breakfast already. Barely you'll be reserving that your table is cleared.
The rooms are vestustes. Extremely poorly insulated (inner shutters closed you feel a cold breath coming in). The bathroom is raffistolée (big white gasket everywhere).
The pinnacle was when I returned to my room. At 8:30 am when I went back to bed a maid strikes "keeping bag" I tell her I'm inside. She goes home all the same and passes her head to probably check… Never seen that…
The only advantage of this hotel lies in its location.

Well placed, a hotel "in its juice" but with charm for those who love the very old atmospheres!

The hotel is (as most buildings in London felt) in the years. The window in my single room wasn't really dense. The door to the bathroom did not go because it was warped. The cleanliness was okay. Breakfast is very positive. My room window was towards a side street of the beach. So it wasn't too loud.

The best of the hotel is definitely the location: a few meters from Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Embankment, Big Ben, half a block from Waterloo Bridge from where you have spectacular views of the city. Along the Strand St tenes many places to eat and shop. The room was very small and the staff were very nice. The new bathroom. Excellent daily cleaning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good deal. One morning I left a note on the bed asking for extra blankets and on returning I had them in the room. There are vendor machines on each floor. I found the breakfast to be expensive. The building is historic but very well maintained.

An older hotel, in a superb central location with, consequently, smallish but adequate rooms, which have been given an 'economic' freshen up. Very competitively priced on a deal via a well known website, so absolutely no complaints there. Tea, coffee, biscuits and water in the room, good buffet breakfast and friendly, professional, and helpful staff. The downsides being only two power points, which is not really adequate for the number of devices needing charging simultaneously by travellers these days, and the shower, whilst powerful, is still a little less than hot. Link rooms can be a little noisy but great views. All in all, a great deal at the price point and a great location.

Emblematic Hotel of the English culture. Not only is it an excellent hotel but it is also a historical building of the last century that reflects the English spirit of that epoch.

The location is perfect but the rooms are extremely small (super small). The breakfast buffet is good but remains constant almost everyday. If you ask for something extra like an omelette then be ready to pay extra. However the hotel is a very busy hotel I assume location is the key.

Great place to stay. We got upgraded without even asking. Great location. Lifts were a bit confusing. Would need updating inside and it was quite noisy hearing other people in the rooms. All in all pretty good. I would avoid the bars inside, they are very expensive when you have cafes on the Strand for 50% less.

We had a lovely stay in this hotel for our 20th anniversary. The hotel was very well located. The room well appointed, although small and the windows could not be opened during some improvement works they had ongoing. Breakfast was fine (but we had to queue). We attended the comedy club that happened to be held there on our second night. Very convenient for so much of London.

I would rename this hotel as "small print palace". The vouchers and "palace pounds" we received did not go a long way. It's all about the small print! Read it and weep! I stayed with my wife in one room but only one of us could use a voucher in a restaurant making the other voucher useless. Food in the restaurant was okay in the but the staff failed to inform us about a significant number of items on the menu that were unavailable which is a disappointment for any respectable restaurant. They also failed to suggest the best way to use the vouchers which left a bitter aftertaste of otherwise good house wine that was supposed to be free but wasn't in the end. Room was clean, though fairly basic for the price. Good location of the hotel was a big plus. I will try another hotel next time.

Excellent location! Great stuff. The rooms are OK (very basic). Basic breakfast. The dinning room stuff is very service oriented. The hotel facilities and rooms are old. The English breakfast very BORING and they never change it!

Unique location in Central London this hotel gives you access to all main sites and theaters. The room is tidy and clean. On the negative side no AC in the room. And yes, the elevators are really slow.

We got the king size exec room, very spacious and the bed was nice to sleep on and well furnished. Hotel had everything from cocktail bar to restaurant, room service was very promote. The food and breakfast was varied and had everything you could want. Price was on the high side for everything but that personal preference if you'd spend that bit extra. 4 star due to price.

I got a very small room with a single bed, but the room was clean. The checkin and out was effective and without problems. The breakfast buffet had everything I could think of and everything looked good. There was noice in the room — even with the window closed.

Great central location, great service, nice room! We were in London for a visit, and we wanted to be close to the Royal Opera House… This hotel was less than 10 minutes away by foot. We booked online, directly with the hotel, and we received a complimentary bottle of Prosecco, as well as a 15 pound coupon towards a meal at one of the onsite restaurants. Very reasonably priced overall, and friendly staff!

Great stay recently. The hotel was great the staff were very friendly and professional. The room was cosy as described but very clean, nice view over the strand. Breakfast was the best I've had for ages. Very central to all major tourist attractions will definitely come again.

Very polite and competent service all around. We had planned to go see the musical The Lion King, the hotel concierge got us the best seats in a matter of minutes. Excellent. The breakfast (extra cost) is very much to my liking. Everything you could possibly want from a breakfast. I'm definitely going here again next time I'm in London.

Central hotels. Perfect for visiting the city. Served by two metro stations and lying on a major road you can catch several buses.

It would be fine as a 2star cheap and cheerful but for the price I expected more. Bar is horendously overpriced including snacks, £5 for a slice of cake etc. We went out rather than socilise there. Breakfast room is small and we had to que for 10min to get a table. Food was pretty awful for breakfast too. Overall the place feel like a 1970s hotel which is past its best and pretebding to be still highend.

The Strand Palace Hotel was a lovely stay. The rooms were very clean and modern and offered an excellent stay. The bathroom was perfect. The only thing wrong with the room was that the 'king size' bed was actually two singles stuck together, with two single duvets held together with Velcro, which was noisy and made the room feel cheaper than the rest of the room looked. The hotel is in an ideal location and staff were friendly and helpful. Check in was quite slow and could've been quicker but we arrived at a busy time, so would probably have been quieter later on. They foyer of the hotel did have an outdated 90s feel to it but was clean and well maintained. Very good hotel would definitely stay again.

Great staff, polite and friendly. Had an executive room which was perfect. Pillow a little too soft but bed comfortable. Didn't eat in the hotel apart from breakfast which was great, huge selection and quality ingredients. I'm in in London I'll be back.

Was at the hotel for a conference. It was a reasonable venue for the number of attendees, with nice coffee, pastries and a good lunch. The staff where very friendly and where willing to help out when they could. The only thing I would complain about is their tea. But this is a problem with all venues, it is impossible to get a good cup of tea.

Myself and colleagues stopped in for a quiet drink and discuss a very big contract. The man who took our order looked down his nose at us because we were all dressed casually and only wanted a drink. He looked like thunder when we asked for a Wi-Fi code! The hotel it self is lovely and we'll presented.

Room small, hotel old and in a poor state and ranks very long to check in.

The reception was unfriendly. Us 3 rooms on the same floor you were promised and confirmed in writing. When we came back after lunch, were assigned this room and we were given other rooms which were not in the same floor. The Hotel has not deserved, in my opinion, definitely 4 star.

Tiny, depressing rooms with paper-thin walls badly in need of renovation. No amenities to speak of. Bathroom was a nightmare. Toilet could barely flush, and tub would not drain. This place is an unmitigated disaster. Avoid.

On the whole we had a great stay at The Strand Palace. We stayed in the Club room and found that it was actually quite spacious. We had some friends back to our room and comfortably could sit five of us in there before going out for the evening so I'm not sure what others mean by saying the rooms are small. By London standards it was on the higher end of average sized! The room was exceptionally clean as was the bathroom. My only complaint about the room itself was that I found the pillows were flat and a little uncomfortable. The bed was very comfy though. The walls are thin so if people are making noise in the hallways you will hear it but we didn't really find this to be a problem. Free Wi-Fi is a bonus! Especially as it was quite fast and was not limited to one computer. Downsides: the elevators are incredibly slow and it can take a while to actually get in one. Also, if you are leaving late in the afternoon but want to keep your bags at the hotel you will pay £2 per item for the privilege. I've stayed in hotels across London with a variety of star ratings and this was the first time I have been asked to do this. On the whole the location is superb and it is a nice hotel. It's not my favorite by far but the staff are friendly and the room is nice.

Stayed 5 nights just a week ago in this hotel. The room reserved by my client was single executive type. But they provide single cossy type for first three nights. After my trip to other city of UK, I again stayed at this hotel for a night, this they provided me real single executive one. I do not why they cheated me in first part of the stay.

Don't tell anyone but the Strand Palace Hotel is my spot when I go to London.
Palace? Not really, it's a hotel giant but very simple. True to the reputation of London, the rooms are small but functional with the ability to upgrade to more European formats.
Why go there? Because you will not find a better price (via booking. Com of course! ) for a hotel as central with a correct delivery.
The Wifi is free and of good quality.
The breakfasts are good, but frankly, I'd rather get out of the hotel and spend my budget in a good breakfast served in a nearby restaurant in Covent Garden. It is also the advantage of being central.

Always use this hotel when I stay in London. It is very close to Covent Garden and walking distance to most major theatres, galleries, shopping etc. It is also very good value and one of the few hotels not to charge double for a single room. Rooms have all the necessary's except air con, but fans are provided. They are not luxurious but more than adequate for sleeping and acting as a convenient base. What do some reviewers expect for a 3 star hotel in central London. Breakfast excellent, carvery good. Staff are ALWAYS very polite and helpful.

If you like indian food please Try The Taj Restaurant in 10 Carlton Parade Orpington Kent BR6 0JB open 7 days a week Monday to Saturday 5.30pm to 11.30pm and Sunday 5.30pm to 11.00pm.

Came here for a christmas party @ £50 a head. The starter and main course (Carvery) were reasonable both in terms of quality and quantity, however, the wine we were served was awful and the dessert was pathetically small and tasted atrocious. We were then offered the choice to go to a "disco" downstairs which was about as awkward as a primary school disco night, so we swiftly left the venue. It was definitely not worth £50 a head — perhaps around £20/25 would have been more appropriate.

You get what you pay for at this hotel. Don't expect very much, and you won't be disappointed. My room had the bare essentials however cleaning was simply not up to scratch: hair in the bath which wasn't mine, liquid spots at the bottom of room's water glass, random blood stain on my pillow case. Waver thin room walls left me wide eyed during the night as people walked past my room or used their room's toilet. Very central hotel, with good access to the tube and various express supermarkets across the road (Sainsbury's, Tesco's). Do not pay the outrageous prices for standard items within their vending machine.

Although the corridors appear a little dated (and very brown), my single room had recently been refurbished, and was very comfortable, with a great bathroom. Breakfast was buffet style, and included full English or continental, with a decent range of choices. I didn't go hungry. Wi-Fi was mostly good: a one-time registration per device for the entire stay; occasional short drop-outs. Location is wonderful: a few hundred yards from Covent Garden. Staff was friendly and efficient. What's not to like? Not much: I couldn't open my windows ("safety reasons"), but they leaked enough to allow some fresh air in :-). GPB100/night including breakfast, at the prepaid/norefundable rate in April 2014. But this is central London! Recommended. I'd happily go back.
