We went to London to celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday. They surprised my daughter with a little piece of cake with happy birthday written on it and the next day she had pancakes at breakfast as well. The staff are very good and helpful. We would like to visit again. Very good location as well.

One of the more high end hotels. Probably because it’s literally next to Buckingham Palace. But that’s where it begins. Very close to tube station St James Court and walking distance to Victoria station. The gym is great. Staff is super friendly and responsive with a sense of urgency to the guests. Lobby and door staff are very welcoming and warming. The breakfast was awesome! They can prepare eggs or omelets just the way you like. The pianist during happy hour was awesome and added flare to the place while having a drink. I joined the mailing list the Taj inner circle. Needless to say I plan on returning in fact I rebooked on my last few days of holiday before flying back to the states.

A lovely hotel with amazing architecture. Built in 1902 she is showing her age but for location and value for money you can't go wrong. As with any hotel there will be a few who will complain and give a bad review — no turn down service and mini bar was two complaints I read FFS! Get a life people! I judge a hotel on the staff and all of the team here at the St James Court have gone the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable but above all relaxing. SWMBO'd had a minor problem… the hair dryer wouldn't reach a mirror. Problem brought to attention of Front Desk and 15 minutes later extension cord provided and hair being dried. We arrived home late last night with injured wrist/arm following a fall requiring ice pack to reduce swelling/pain asked for assistance at Front Desk, greeted by name and within 15 minutes ice and towels delivered to room. As I said I judge a hotel by the staff the work there and serve us. This hotel's staff go above and beyond. Great location, great value for money and I would happily stay here again when next in London Town.

St. James' Court, A Taj Hotel, London I recommend this with great admiration if you are visiting London. The attention to details to make guest feel at home, is highly commendable. I look forward to my next visit and stay at the historical St James Court.

This is a decent hotel but by no means 4 stars as indicated by its reviews. It is generally clean, but the shower is mildewed, the mattress is ancient with a dip in it and has a musty smell, and the wait staff are unaccommodating and inattentive. One night we sat in the garden for 15 minutes before we were able to get a server’s attention whilst two other tables who sat down after us received even worse service. Another night, after getting out of a play later in the evening, we watched a boy eat a pizza that had been served not five minutes before, and the waitress refused to even ask the kitchen to make one for my son, because it was not on the night menu. I asked, “could we get a pizza? ” and she replied, “is it on the night menu? ” I asked politely if she could request one from the kitchen (given they had baked one moments before), and she replied that if they she did that for us, she’d have to do it for everyone. Five, or even four star service? I think not.

I really enjoy hanging out at this hotel even just for a quiet meeting with friends. There is a piano their and usually played by a very admirable gentleman (please insert name). The staffs are extremely friendly and the décor is what you expect from 4* hotel. Clean is essential to me and I am highly impressed with it.

Relax feel. Release stress with cozy ambience of the reception area and the rooms. They have beautiful court yard and all central London is pretty much waking. Friendly staff. TVs needs immediate improvement for the brand as well as the size. Pricey but if you can afford should go for it.

Catalogue of errors soon after arriving. Noisy room which resulted in us being moved at 03.30 to another temporary room. Third room was fine. We were late for Trooping The Colour which was the whole reason for the trip to London, this was because we couldn’t gain access to our car. Basically, not going back to The Taj again sadly. One word of warning, make sure you are well informed of the prices before allowing your vehicle to be parked in Q Victoria car park. We were not informed of it being owned by a third party!

Beautiful hotel near Buckingham Palace. The style of the rooms is very classic but they are definitely spacious and very well organized. The area does not offer great attractions and restaurants but within a ten minute walk you can reach the Big Ben and the Riverside walk along with the London Eye. The cost of the rooms is not properly cheap but the quality you pay.

We found this to be a great location very near to Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. Updated rooms and front service add to the experience. The only drank for us we that the Spa was under construction during our stay. No alternative arrangements were provided!

Fantastic location close to Buckingham Palace, Wellington Barracks and short walk to Westminster. Quiet in the evening away from the hustle which is both a pro and con. Friendly staff, nice rooms which are recently renovated, and wonderful court yard to relax in.

The staff was off-the-charts friendly, the accommodations were Splendid, to put it mildly. I think our three bedroom suite was bigger than our house! We just could not get over how well we were treated. Everyone was so friendly and ready to help, and everything you could need for a good vacation, from milk already in the fridge for your tea, to shaving and toothbrush kits in the bathroom was provided. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel.

An honest four-star hotel with good and very good gastronomy.

A nice Victorian hotel centrally located in London. Friendly staff, that really want to give you a five star hotel experience. Housekeeping staff were also extremely friendly and helpful. Have not tried the bar, bistro or restaurants as had other plans outside the hotel. Room was big, bed was big and comfortable. Only downside was the single glazing window (it was very cold, February) with a sloppy paint job, and heating system that did not work (filter turned out to be blocked, preventing it from working). And the endless noise from building sites outside, which went on until 11 PM. If you want to get your hair done, try Dar, the in-hotel hairdresser. He knows his way around with a blow dryer and is not afraid to tell you that your hair cut isn't doing you any favors. He is full of anecdotes as well. The hotel is situated near some nice restaurants, the department store House of Fraser, drugstore Boots and is near the underground station St James' Park. Also conveniantly located are several breakfast bars in the morning. I found the hotel breakfast overpriced at 22 pounds, and I just want a simple breakfast.

STUNNING hotel, attentive staff — collected luggage from boot of car and took upstairs. Soon has everything you need from slippers to shampoo. Reception, easy and again — attentive. Smoking and non smoking rooms available. A little disappointed with how small our room is but furniture is good quality, clean and well presented.

Luxury at its best with the Indian touch of hospitality. The members of staff are best in the industry. Food is awesome in all the restaurants. Quality of house keeping is best. The front office staff is excellent. A must and best place to stay in central London. It's courtyard has the old world British empire charm as well.

If you have researched a London Vacation you know that one of the top priorities is choosing the proper accommodations. The location and price of your hotel will probably dictate how favorable you view your time in the city. And since nobody ever travels to London for the weather, you may be spending more time in your London hotel than a normal vacation. So getting the accommodations right is important. Well, I have done the research for you. I typically spend 2-5 months planning my vacations meticulously and so in some ways there are never any surprises. I selected the St James Hotel because I assumed it was a great values and was somewhat a convenient jumping off point to explore the city. Only in this case I was wrong. The St James hotel exceed all expectations far beyond what I could have imagined. The staff are way better than the reviews may suggest. The breakfast (make sure it is included) is the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. This is worth repeating … St James has the best hotel breakfast I have ever had, anywhere! (Talk about a great way to save $ on meals in an expensive city). The amazing courtyard (you have already seen the pictures) is better in person. The little hotel bar and live jazz at night was unanticipated and great. The Christmas decorations were fabulous. The Jr. Suite was larger and more comfortable than expected. What can I say, my wife and I were smitten by this hotel. While visiting one of the world’s greatest cities … the St.

Court yard is nice when the sun is shining, close to lots of attractions and the underground system. There was a special rate to upgrade our room when we checked in which was fantastic and the room was ready at 10am!

This was our third stay at the hotel. First time when it was still Crowne Plaza, last year as is was already Taj. Our second stay last year was everything but great, but after receiving an e-mail by the general manager, we decided to give it another try this year. And to be honest, this time you completely overwelmed us with your hospitality, most outstanding service and delicious food. From the most welcoming check in, the beautifully renovated excutive room itself, the lavish breakfast and the very pleasant check-out, everything was spot on. If anyone had a bad experience at this hotel, do give it a second chance, so many people are making an effort to make this hotel a truly hidden gem in London! Thx to everyone for making our stay remarkable! Next time in London, we will stay again at your premises, even more we will even recommand it.

Shockingly bad upkeep. I've seen far better at 1.5 star hotels such as Motel 6 and Super 8 — not an exaggeration! Although the entryway is stellar, the halls and rooms are appalling. Paint literally peeling off the walls, water damage in the bathroom, mildew in the bathtub. I only give 2 stars because the service was quite nice. I'm told that half the hotel has been renovated, but make sure you can be guaranteed a renovated room before purchasing.

Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… It is a superbly located hotel that enabled us to connect to all forms of public transport with ease. Getting around London was easy from the Taj. The foyer, restaurants and bars are first rate and the service was without fault. Our basic room was very large and beautifully comfortable. Our room was in need of a little bit of tender care but this did not translate into dissatisfaction. A great place to stay.

Tried their afternoon tea in their Kona restaurant and it ended up a disappointment. It's fine that we paid 45 pound per person to have only 90 minute tea time there. But it's totally unacceptable that the waiters put our deserts into a flat plastic takeaway box and destroyed all the deserts we wanted to take away. I don't get it why it's so hard to prepare a good paper box which can fit the cakes as you only allow people to have afternoon tea for only 90 minutes. We feel that they treat their residence guests better and we didn't get the god services as we just came to have afternoon tea. All in all, the waiters were not very professional and the whole experience was disappointing. We don't recommend anyone to dine here.

Wonderful hotel with a venerable charm. The only negative point is the high London-typical prices (but applies to all hotels). The staff is very attentive and helpful.

Luxury experience with someone special I brought my mum here for her birthday and she was delighted. We had a luxury experience for a fair price, we spent a lovely time having afternoon tea and massages. The whole experience was sublime, the food was tasty and the selection of tea is very good. The spa it's cosy and the treatments very well design as the environment.

Rooms don't have much sound proofing. I could hear the neighbor's conversations word for word. Complimentary breakfast is good with omelettes made to order.

I loved staying here. The staff was wonderful. You can't get a better location. I could walk to Big Ben and Buckingham Palace from this hotel. It was amazing and the restaurants in the hotel were amazing also. The rooms were ultra clean and comfortable.

Being a Gold Member of Taj, I have stayed in several of Taj properties, besides other four and five stars but this is the first hotel where breakfast was not included and we had to pay for the breakfast. Good four star hotels like Double Tree Hilton were offering a much better deal with breakfast included, but we chose the Taj out of loyalty. When we did the booking it showed breakfast included but when we checked in they told us it was not part of the deal! That was disappointing otherwise the room was good, no cribs about that. Location was also excellent.

5 star service. We were here 7 nights. The receptionists and doorman were so friendly, helpful. Great location — walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. Also, close to shopping and great restaurants and pubs. The breakfast was great. The only down side of this hotel was the lack of hot water in the shower. Highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here last night with my girlfriend. Absolutely fantastic service, staff are really friendly and helpful, rooms are tidy and clean. We went to the royal albert hall and came back to a pristinley decorated birthday cake for my girlfriend which was a fantastic gesture. Location is perfect, just down the road from buckingham palace. Could not fault the hotel. Will definatley stay again.

Location is incredible. Can walk to all the major sites, but in a very peaceful and quiet part of central London. The rooms are great and spacious. The service was good.

Please don't be fooled by the professionally taken bedroom photographs of this hotel. To say it is "dated" is an understatement. The reception area and courtyard are well maintained and are very relaxing but go through the foyer and past the doors to the rooms and you see the real hotel. If this hotel was anywhere other than 500 yards from Buckingham Palace it would be a 2 star hotel at the very best. The expense of staying here certainly does not reflect lack of quality, with regard to comfort, this hotel has to offer. The room we were first given was B&B standard, so we asked to be given another room. The management moved us to a room 5 doors away down the hall which was equally as dated and alot smaller. The staff were all excellent with exception to the original receptionist that checked us in. No please or thank you and no directions to our room. A complaint was made regarding other guests smoking on the 5th floor and the smell coming into our room, which was laughed at and answered with "well they could be charged an extra £150". All in all I'd say the hotel would be 3 or 4 star in somewhere like Spain but in London I'm sorry to say there are better hotels for similar money.

A heritage hotel in central London. If you are lucky, Her Majesty could be your neighbor. Breakfast (usually included in the rent) is very good, with lots of Indian food. Staff is good. As is expected from a hotel of this category, it is not a budget hotel. London tube station is a 3 minute walk and a taxi stand is just outside the hotel.

Awesome hotel! We ended up getting a really great deal online. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. The rooms are a bit small, but they are clean. The location was absolutely perfect for exploring the city. I highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel was perfectly located for my needs. It was just a short 6-minute stroll to Buckingham Palace, 12 minutes to Big Ben and a 22-minute walk to the London Eye. The elegance in the lobby continued into the room which was also comfortable and had a good-sized bathroom. I had organised for a package to be sent to the hotel before my arrival and the concierge was more than happy to accept delivery and keep it until I checked in. The cheerful, friendly and professional staff also contributed to a great stay.

Crap hotel for the money you will spend. Terrible concierge especially the French guy. He is so rude but the rest of them not much better. They forgot make my dinner reservations and order a car. Completely forgot to notify me. Thank you useless. Told me they had upgraded me. From what?! my 280 pound a night standard room to a standard room?! Thank you but I'd rather stay elsewhere next time. Utterly useless.

Absolute Top-Hotel in a very good location. Only a few Walking minutes from the underground station St. James's Park.

Our room was really old, stinky dark and ugly! Hate this hotel! Their webside shows beautiful luxury room pictures! But reality wasnt even close to it! And we paid 300£ per night, we got little stinky room … Never again!

The location of this hotel is probably the only real reason why someone should consider staying in this hotel! Besides, the staff is mostly rather unfriendly and overstrained. When we arrived we were given a tiny (and quite shabby) room with a strange smell. We therefore complained and were able to change to another room which was ok. When we noted that the bed was too small, the bath was not really clean and the overall condition of the furniture of the room had seen its best days, the staff just noted that we had booked a classic room and therefore could not expect anything else… In the nights it was really noisy (because of an event) and in one night the fire alarm went off, giving us almost a heart attack. But even after this, none of the staff apologized in any way. We have been to London numerous times and seen hotels of all kinds. Therefore, we can say that this hotel is not worth the money besides the fact that friendliness should be included at any rate.

Great location and excellent property, complemented by great service and staff.

Location is probably the biggest plus for this hotel. 10 minutes to Houses of Parliament and 5 minutes to Buckingham Palace by foot. Some coffee shops and grocerie stores nearby. Tube is a 3 minute walk away. Lobby is quite nice and employes where polite. Room was quite spacious for London and quiet while facing the courtyard. Bathroom not new but ok. Internet fast enough for a video chat with Skype, which means fast enough for me. Breakfast was ok but really not worth the 20 £. Overall a good stay, would stay there again.

We stayed for a couple of nights in an executive courtyard facing room. The location is great for tourists. — The staff let us check-in at 10:30am without any hesitation. — We booked a few last minute tours with the Concierge at the same price as venue booking — — this included fast track entries to some places. — We took the breakfast option during booking. You can have the food delivered a La carte in the morning to your room. — The gift shop in the hotel has better quality items at the same price as stalls by the attractions A few more complimentary touches could be added to make a vacation stay even more enjoyable. No complaints otherwise.

Chose the hotel for its proximity to the Palace as I was being awarded an MBE. Stayed, with family, overnight on 18th March. Staff were welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. Rooms were very comfortable, food delicious, would definitely stay again.

A very nice and comfortable place! I like it and I 'll be back there next spring! Saint James park and National Gallery are very near and you can go everywhere easily! It will be my sixth stay.

The location is good. The lobby and courtyard is nice. The staff was helpful and mostly friendly. The room it itself was just okay for the money. We had a deluxe king room over the courtyard. The bed was hard and the pillows were terrible. The TV was small and the channel selection was minimal. We paid for the included breakfast which was pretty good. Keep in mind that you don't have to eat the mushy buffet eggs, you can order what you like.

We have just returned from 3 nights at St James Court Hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We were made to feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is beautiful, rooms immaculate and very tranquil. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit and read a book while enjoying a coffee or a glass of wine. The breakfast was unbelievably good value, and really tasty with something for every palette. I hope we can go back another time, we really enjoyed our time. Thank you.

Superbly friendly and genuine staff. Very grand entrance contrasts with the somewhat drab corridors, but rooms are impressive (although mine was single glazed). A hotel of lots of little touches, excellent value.

Even if you advance is on a visit to London on high hotel costs with less comfort than sets in other European cities, this hotel under still dripped all expectations. The hotel is definitely not 4 * standard. External + reception Yes, the room + services are however more than disappointing and the price (€ 200 p. N. ) absolutely not justified.
A single room as a double room was sold to us. Tiny bed, the room located by, generally very manageable, directly under the window was the ventilation system of the hotel; I. E. Permanent noise even when closed Window. Also no room replacement was granted on demand. Leaking Windows, no air conditioning (heating only), bath or The rooms are generally strongly in need of renovation.
the service was suck and most of the time (3 days, WE) absolutely overwhelmed, stressed and unfriendly.
Here are just a few excerpts: The suitcases have been linked to delay and 4 calls later in the room 60minütiger. For breakfast you can line up every morning in a snake, until you get a table (8 floors, about 400 rooms and a tiny was. ). The tables are so tight that one must make the gang free again during breakfast or for other guests or staff. The ordered omelettes or toasted sandwiches came when we were finished with the breakfast.
