It had been poorly reviewed and I had many misgivings about the hotel. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by a warm smile from the receptionist on duty, the hotel is vintage and is in Paddington, very close to the station. The street where it is located and very close to a street full of pubs and various exchange shops and souvenirs. The rooms are clean, the faucets are a bit worn but I couldn't expect the maximum for what I paid. Beds were clean and sheets, towels and soap were cleaned every day. I stayed overnight for 5 nights and I think I go back because I had been really good, I did not include breakfast which however according to many is complete and satisfying. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to spend the holidays in London!

Not super clean and very warm inside during the summer. We asked to have the temperature lower on the room… It is 76 degrees farenheit and the brought us a fan. I will say the staff works very hard to please.

It's okay, if you're staying overnight… Our room was without air conditioning, so way too warm to be comfortable. Breakfast is fine and the staff is friendly.

I recently stayed at this hotel and honestly didn't feel bad. Before leaving I had read the other reviews and I was terrified at the thought of having to go there, I can not deny everything that many others have written, undoubtedly the hotel is old, the furnishings are old, it does not have Wi-Fi in the rooms, the rooms have L facing on a light well attached to early morning singing pigeons, the floor creaks and you hear everything through the walls. As for sheets, towels and bathroom were clean, I can not say the same of the bedspread, that this was also old and as a result had stains, now I think indelible, but fortunately I did not need to use it. The breakfast was good all in all, it did not present a wide choice (especially for us Italians) but croissants, jams and yogurt to me were enough, the coffee that is served of course is not L'Espresso. The staff are really nice and helpful. However considering the affordable price, the location where it is located which is great, especially with regard to transportation, services and premises, I recommend it.

If you get a straight craving to search the room for cameras and miss your home, that speaks for itself. The location is great, the reception was fine, but the rooms are not recommended. A blanket that resembles more a tablecloth, a bathroom that stinks extremely of chlorine and has rusted taps and the desire for the night to go around. According to my opinion, not to be recommended if you want to feel at least a little comfortable.

Excellent Hotel. Very well received with explanations in French which made our stay easier. Warm welcome, our suitcases were kept before our facilities and after releasing the room, to continue our visits without hindrance. Breakfast is very diversified. The rooms are a bit antiquated but very clean. I highly recommend.

A small hotel. Wifi at reception. There is a kettle, cups, coffee, tea, cream. There is no air conditioner, instead a fan. There is a hair dryer, TV.

This place has seen better days. Everything is run down and quite dirty. The beds are horrible and you feel the individual springs. The shower is so short I couldn't put it over my head. Fridge was broken and TV unusable due to interference. No Wi-Fi in the rooms. The only reason for two and not one star is the location. Can not recommend even as budget hotel.

About six minutes ' walk from the train station and Metro station, it is an old restaurant but the rooms are spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Because I want to travel out of town, the hotel allows me to send large luggage for three days without charge, it is recommended.

A perfect hotel if you want to kick London. The receptionist is very friendly and will help you if you need it. The rooms are very nice and the bathroom too. They offer a good breakfast and the location is outstanding, the train station and the Metro are three minutes walk away. If I go back to London I'll repeat insurance.

Close to Paddington station and located in excellent area.

It's not very expensive, but of course there are at least two stars left. It's too old for a global reform.

This Hotel is rated as a 3-stars hotel… I guess it's rated out of english standard! In Sweden this would have been a 1-star hotel (but I doubt it would have even been allowed for guests…). Dated rooms with filthy carpet and very unconfortable beds. The whole hotel needs a serious fresh up! I guess this is what you get for this price in London. At least the staff is kind and the breakfast is ok. The location is perfect, close to Paddington station and in front of a beautyful parc! But we will definitely not come back…

Very nice. I loved his style, his building, his people. Cozy and beautiful both day and night. It is worth going to visit it and take something enjoying its tranquility in the company of Londoners.

Basic … but clean … hotel is very worn and dated but for 1 night in London its does the job fine.

We spent 4 nights at this hotel for Christmas 2017 and the overall balance is positive. The rooms are comfortable and relatively large (I say relatively, ie larger than the "chicken cages" of some London hotels), quite functional, with bathtub/shower and toilet. The bedding is basic. The whole is no longer brand new, the carpet is threadbare, the furniture is old and the wooden doors have lived well… The TV is ridiculously small and is 30 years old (but hey, we're not going to London to watch TV, huh? ). That said, everything is perfectly clean, no complaints! The cleaning is done daily. The elevator is also out of age but works.
In short, a hotel rather satisfying, if you are not too demanding, with a delightful old-fashioned charm, so inevitably dated (narrow hallways with thick carpet and a fire door every 3 meters! ) but very properly held. Only one downside: The breakfast is quite disappointing, served in a room in the basement, without soul. The hotel overlooks a nice and cute little place. The location is perfect, the metro station is less than 200m, which is very convenient. The Paddington area is nice, pretty lively, rather popular, with a lot of cheap restaurants and small mini-marts open very late. There are many hotels in the neighborhood, some dismal… and the Norflok Plaza seems to be a range above, with a really interesting value for money.

If it's to come to bathe and sleep, it's excellent. Very close to Paddington, full breakfast and very good care.

Helpful and friendly staff that catered to all of our needs. Would definitely recommend as close to the subway and nearby to many shops and restaurants.

The rooms are a bit dated but overall clean (at least the surfaces that can be easily cleaned). We had a bathtub and a coffee station. Buffet breakfast is alright (the receptionist recommended it, suggesting that it offers more options). Full English breakfast is also available, with a choice of fried, scrambled or boiled eggs, if I remember correctly. As for beverage, the hotel offers either coffee with or without milk (the coffee was a bit too roasted and bitter for my preference), tea or hot chocolate. It is in a great, quiet location, has a lift, 24hr reception, and Wi-Fi in the lobby. Overall, it does the job in my opinion.

Great location, minutes' walk from Paddington Station. Staff is nice but the hotel has seen better days. One can imagine this hotel was once at the leading edge of style and technology, but it is now a bit tired and dated.

Dirty and tight, it's good to spend little, in other cases it is to be avoided.

Yes well you would need to upgrade your facilities the location and links to public transportation make it a good choice to visit London.

The worst hotel I have stayed in! The rooms have an old-fashioned decoration the carpet is worn, stained, on which I did not risk to walk barefoot. Bathroom also worn by the weather, blackened tile joint, taps full of limestone. Horrible springs Matela… the list of bad things is long. I slept better on my family's inflatable mattress. This hotel is a scam The breakfast is bad too, everything is low end. I pity the staff who work there.

They received me very well, the staff I'd always nice and helpful. Regarding the rooms, they are very simple but comfortable and very clean. The breakfast is good and the only thing missing it is a lunch service.

A good hotel close to the most important things, if you enjoy shopping, theatres, etc. Due to the location, it's very calm and relatively quiet, especially if you've just returned from Oxford Street. The rooms are dated, but they're fine if you're not planning to stay for a longer period of time in the room itself. It has everything we need, however. A bed, a bathroom with a bathtub, electric outlets, and a coffee station if you need that, and honestly, we don't need more, all our needs at meet. The breakfast is good, they serve you tea, coffee or hot chocolate. There's however no hot food served at the buffet, which is fine by us since we aren't big breakfast eaters. The staff is nice and pleasant and the service is good.

A budget hotel and well located. It's the best you can ask for the price.

Room isn't too clean. We found bed bugs in the couch. Internet does not work properly in the room. For a night or two, it works… more than that, I do not recommend…

Good location Metro, bus and train stations next door. Good area.

Very out dated. The pillows had feaces, blood and other bodily stains on ALL of them. There were large burn marks on the head boards, ripped beds. And disgusting taps and basin. Asked for new pillows but told to double up on pillow cases to ease the smell Never again. Not be fooled by photos of foyer and restaurant. The rest of it is not like that.

Over priced for the quality of the hotel and service. It was very misleading because the lobby looked nice and well kept until you started to walk the floors. Showed that they had Wi-fi but nowhere in the room did they provide the password. Found someone's hair on the "clean" towels that were provided in the restroom. Toilets did not flush well. The elevator worked, sort of. It would get to the floor but the door would not open, although it tried to. Told the receptionist and he laughed and shrugged it off. It looks like one of those run-down motels that you would contract bed bugs. Honestly, if you plan on staying around the Paddington area… pay the extra money to stay at a decent motel.

Good for a short stay beacuse it's cheap but it isn't nice.

Great location, dated structure with toilets on the edge of decency. Breakfast sufficient.

Shabby without the chic! The plus side was that it's clean and the shower was powerful but other than that there is nothing special about this hotel. Massively in need of renovating from the TVs to the carpets and bathrooms. Breakfast was disappointing so upgraded to the full English which was ok but only because we were hungry. If you want somewhere to just sleep and shower this is your place.

The building is old and makes so much noice while walking. Narrow corridors. But ok to stay for short durations.

“Worst hotel of the century” Good things first:The place ist well located und there ist no noise coming from the outside into the rooms on the backyard – but a lot of noise comes in from the corridor, because it creaks – and the door had a gap from at least 2 cm at the bottom. At all, the door did not fit into the frame, so we had an enlighted frame all the time and noise whenever someone passed the door. The ground inside was uneven, guess 3 layers above each over. The TV should have been sateliteprovided, but there was a string-antenna and it showed barely 3 stations, you could realy watch. The TV was a cube from I guess the seventies, showed 2/3 of the picture on a 15''-screen, bound to a platform with a luggage belt. Windowpains where unclean, the wooden windowsill is completly rotten, the ceiling there rusty. In the bathroom the flush did not work properly, did not supply sufficient water, we asked for repair twice but besides a hint, how we should manipulate the mechanic nothing happend. Breakfast was given – but there was no fresh fruit, no apple or banana, just canned peaches and grapefruit served in a nearly windowless basement. To end with „good“ news: This was not the worst room in the hotel. The first one we've been offered was a room filled with 3 beds, a half-open window, which could not be moved in any direction an a bathroom beyond description – standard of 1930 or so … So we got this „upgrade“ to the room described.

The breakfast was good but in the room, very old all. They need to make urgent reforms. Quilts and blankets in very bad shape. It doesn't look clean. The staff at the buffet are very friendly.

Quiet and well served…

Be warned, the outside of the building and the foyer are vastly different to the rest of the hotel. We ended up leaving and finding another hotel to stay in because of the dire conditions. There was mould in the bathroom, the shower was just a trickle, the wardrobe was hanging off its hinges. The bedding was ripped, as was the seating in the room which also had some questionable stains and the room itself was generally grubby. The staff as well are pants. We went down to complain and asked for a room swap to which the man on reception said 'there's no point, they are all like that' and when we asked for a refund he point blank refused and said we would have to wait for a manager, who only worked weekdays. In the end we found a much better hotel around the corner.

Rooms are a bit on the small side for a hotel this price but had good connectivity. Lift was tiny. Breakfast was good some staff where a bit snobby.

We were there for a wine tasting experience, hotel was pleasant enough although we didn't stay there.

The summer of 2011. Right Hotel with breakfast included. Treatment acceptable. Room regular with bathroom. Very close to the station of Paddington.

Been there for 10 days. March 22 — march 31, 2015. the staff members were really nice. Smiling, helping, laughing and very talkative. they have someone at the reception 24hrs so even if you need something in the middle of the night you can talk to someone. when we got there no fee was taken for safety like in other places I've been to. rooms very clean and organized+they organize the room every morning. Although they didn't replace the sheets it was clean and pleasant and I'm sure that if we have asked them to change something they would. Cups and bathroom were cleaned and new towels were given every day. small TV+1 light that didn't work but it really wasn't necessary at all because the room had more light. -the only downside that I noticed is that there were not enough plugs in the room. But you can get along. — they did have Wi-Fi at the first floor, although they said it's only in the lobby so you'll have to check this while you're there. breakfast was very nice, dining room was clean and organized and you can add money to get eggs, bacon etc. so for 10days, I say I would go there again. Don't expect anything fancy cuz it's not, but I think it's as it should be for people like me that like a nice room to sleep, take a shower and rest in and spend most of the day out.

Really bullshit hotel and waste of money. Never ever booked again.

I needed a place to stay for the night and being the middle of winter and a little quiet I was sold a suite for a decent price. The suite was large with a loft. Upstairs were the beds and bathroom. Downstairs was a large sofa couch — will pulls out into a bed, a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. There was a closet under the stairs for storage. The space was large and impressive but old. The floors creaked and you could hear the rooms next door or above creak too. The decor was old and tired as well. It kind of reminded me of walking into a 1970s sitcom — Where was Basil Fawlty? If this was updated and modernised — this could be a absolute winner. A block back from Paddington Station — location ideal. Well I guess it was nice to walk into a hotel that was last updated the decade I was born.

Rooms are ok, but no aircon. Old and very small TV set.
