I have only eaten Afternoon Tea in the Restaurant which my Wife and I love. It is very easy going, the staff are very attentive and extremely pleasant and do not rush you. The sandwiches and cakes are lovely, though their scones are a little too small and hard, but still nice I and the choice of Teas, coffees and hot chocolates are an excellant range. Altogether, one of our favourite places.

Went for a meal at sohowala. Portions tiny for the prawn balchao (not on the small plate menu), tandoori chicken was v dry. Tried to charge for something we didn’t get (but ordered). Waitresses indifferent. Go to dishoom instead.

Visited today for the afternoon tea experience. The hotel is not clearly noticeable. Lack of signage.
We were seated in a small room on the front of the building. There were around 13 tables in the room.
The service was of a reasonable standard. The champagne was nice as were the sandwiches and scones. The small cakes were not that great.

Went for afternoon tea which was a xmas gift terrible service food very odd for afternoon tea potato and tomato sandwich? What the hell is that! Nothing to go ‘wow’ about worst afternoon tea iv every had this is never a 5 star hotel very cold atmosphere would not recommend.

Do not stay at this hotel. Grossly overpriced for a hotel plagued with problems. The television and air conditioning did not work in the room. Another room's window would not close properly (very noisy street) and the shower did not work. Dingy towels, spotty Wi-Fi, no turndown service, no information on hotel provided in rooms, and awful management. Stay anywhere but here.

The room was very clean and well equipped. Hotel was nice and quiet and full of character and history. The biggest downfall was the breakfast which was very expensive. The food was barely warm and powdered eggs used for scrambled eggs (yuck), bacon was cold and hard. Also the afternoon tea was very disappointing, we arrived 15 minutes early and was first in. We still had too wait a total of 45 mins for the food. The scones were still frozen on the underneath and was of a very small variety. We shall be reporting this in our Virgin experience days review.

Really good hotel right in the middle of London great for retail, theatre and food. The bar in the hotel is really quirky with the old cells still in situ. Hotel staff were great.

Went for champagne cocktail cinema experience. We have been a few times and it is always a pleasurable experience. Have had afternoon tea and meals in ‘Silk’ restaurant and all top quality.

Terrible state of the hotel as well as arrogant and rude staff. We stayed 5 nights at the hotel from a couple of weeks ago. The hotel is well located in London, but unfortunately there is no more positive to say. Never have I stayed in more broken and unclean rooms. The walls were dirty, the furniture was broken and half of the lamps did not work. … But the worst thing must be that in the middle of our stay we got a shoebox and a bag removed/taken/thrown out from our room, both with valuable content. I contacted the front desk who said they would handle it. After waiting for a couple of hours without reply, I contacted again, this time to talk to the same but a very rude employee who said he had looked and he could not find my belongings. I asked him to take it up with the manager, which he promised me he would — But I didn't hear anything back. 2 weeks after, I followed up on mail just to get told that they couldn't do anything about this case as they have no proof of the things removed from the room. So here I stand and have lost values ​​for about 200 GBP without as much as an excuse. I am speechless about this hotel, I am speechless about the staff and I am speechless that they get to call themselves a 5 star hotel. One recommendation from me — Skip this hotel!

Staff were helpful overall but man on reception was curt and not inviting sometimes our conversation with other members of staff was lost in translation. Fairly good experience but portion food size was small for me. The movie watched at this experience was too family orientated on a evening dominated by couples. The surroundings were nice and clean but lacked character.

Other than a good location, this hotel has nothing more to offer but rude and unhelpful staff and sub category rooms. Would stay away.

Had champagne afternoon tea here last week. All staff very helpful. Arrived 10 minutes early but sat straight down. Iced water and champagne served right away. Food was lovely and there was plenty of it. Hot chocolate was amazing! Would recommend!

We checked into this hotel after our wedding on the south coast thinking it would top off the perfect weekend. We thought we would treat ourselves to a stay in a London 5 star hotel opposite amazing restaurants and shopping. What could go wrong. Well apparently a lot. Let’s get one thing straight. This is not a 5 star hotel. The location is great but beyond that it offers nothing. Rooms are so far below standard when you are paying £225 pounds a night, you would expect nothing but an amazing experience. And what we got was a horrid room, and had nothing more than what I have had at a Travelodge or premier inn. I would not recommend staying here and can only hope no one makes the same mistake me and my partner did.

Absolutely fabulous afternoon tea with a lovely glass of champagne. Food was excellent and we were celebrating my friends birthday. They had extra chocolate souffle for him. He enjoyed it but the tea was so good that he could not have everything. Perhaps a little gift, postcard of the hotel would be a lovely momento of the day. Couldn't fault it.

The afternoon tea was advertised as something special. It wasn't. The restaurant was poor. I'd be fine if it hadn't been falsely advertised as luxury event / location. Waitress really nice and helpful. Wouldn't recommend.

Very central location in the historic Courthouse building. Good sized rooms with decent Internet, I also found this to be a quiet hotel, which was a nice surprise. Nice bar in the lobby built into some of fhe old holding cells. Nice breakfast place next door.

Enjoyed a champagne afternoon tea with a friend to celebrate our 70th birthdays. Deliciously fresh sandwiches beautiful cakes great glass of champagne and as much tea as we could drink. Great service. Who could ask for more. Would recommend.

I am really shocked by the current state of the hotel.
Last weeks stay, I was put in a superior room with a broken shower curtain. The TV had no sound and as a "souvenir" I woke up with bites from bed bugs.
My colleague had to change rooms because of mice in his room, but only after he had to stay in this room for another night.
Furthermore, I expect a 5 star hotel to be able to provide the guests with stamps for mailing letters. All of this can happen, but the bed bugs should not be an issue in an establishment of such rating. I'd expect regular check ups of each room & mattress for mice, bed bugs etc. Furthermore I'd switch mattresses, as mine were obviously well used and worn out.

Very poor service. From the beginning, me and my colleagues were treated with disdain. When I called them up to book a table they said they didn’t take reservations. When we got there, they told us they wouldn’t fit us in the bar because we didn’t reserve the table. Clearly lack of organisation. Also, they told us it was table service but no one ever came to take our order, even after going after the waiters to ask for drinks. If you’re paying £14 for a cocktail you’d expect good service, but not even close.

Gorgeous, hidden away hotel in an old court house. Exotic & luxurious bar serving fab wines, champagne & cocktails. We were there to watch a film in its secret cinema. It was cosy, intimate & very comfortable. I'd definitely go back for dinner & drinks. Fab night in a lovely venue.

Not helpful service at all… members of staff quite rude at reception and will always send you elsewhere for help. Very old and in need of refurbishment. Anyone looking for 5 star this is no way close. Not happy. Silk restaurant also no way way Michelin star in any way shape or form.

It was a lovely hotel in a very ideal location (just opposite carnaby street) right round the corner from Oxford Circus underground station. I had my Christmas party here, we had a beautiful cocktail hour in the bar to the back of the hotel on the same floor as the entrance, we then had a private viewing in their cinema which was spacious and lovely AND we were provided with free popcorn and nibbles as we entered! The toilets are fab! Along with the food that was provided for our three course meal! Can't review the rooms as I didn't stay there but I know they are absolutely stunning, there's an indoor pool and a rooftop section where you can chill and take in the sun and the views!

Courthouse hotel has very nice staff and is pleasant place to stay. It's located just off Regent Street near Oxford Circus station. I quite liked the look of the place, tasty drinks and a good vibe. It's worth checking out the cinema too if you get a chance!

Stayed overnight on route to Gatwick Airport. Only 3 minutes from South Terminal and 6 minutes from North terminal with transport provided from hotel at minimal cost. Also stored car for 2 weeks. All this for £150. Great value. Comfortable room and restaurant facilitys but food and drink rather expensive for my taste. Would highly recommend it if flying out of the country.

Very good location, correct reception next to the receptionist.
Upgrade, so the room was very good, large, quiet (on a small courtyard), large bed, comfortable.
A functional bathroom, shower leak, slippery floor (because of water everywhere), and the crumbling ceiling…
Existing swimming pool, shower cubicle, sauna (door that binds…), possibility to leave his sneakers next to the swimming pool (hygiene to be reviewed…) But at least the merit to exist.
Even as residents of the hotel, it was not possible to go for a drink on the roof, the bouncer (big but very nice) invites us nicely to go down and make a reservation by phone…
Given the rooftop bar, every time we enter, the janitors ask if they can help us (like "You're lost? " No, we have a room here) on 2 occasions we had to change our access cards (even without leaving them near a mobile…)
Possibility to have a drink at the bar (in a prison cell if you reserve), with a very friendly staff, but the armchairs deserve to be changed.
Breakfast at £23 (€30), slightly abused (lots of places all around where to have a quiet breakfast)

This hotel is in a great location but is definitely not up to standard! We’ve stayed in numerous hotels in & outside of London and this is by far the worst.
We booked through Secret Escapes and paid in advance. Upon arrival were advised that we had been upgraded to the last king suite (room 617) so excitedly we got the lift to our room and at first glance all seemed ok, a little dated in comparison with other London hotels but ok. The volume didn’t work on the TV … no sound at all (even @ 76) but hey we weren’t intending to stay in the room long. We pretty much headed straight to the bar where we noticed pre-poured champagne glasses sat under the counter, getting flat & warm — didn’t fancy one of those so ordered a couple of cocktails which were ok but nothing memorable considering the London prices. We headed out for our evening @ the London palladium which was located perfectly round the corner to the hotel. Upon retiring to our room we were shattered and looking forward to a lovely nights sleep (having a 4 month old baby at home we don’t get many of those). We soon realised that our ‘King’ bed was two singles pushed together and that even the sheets consisted of two single duvets packed into one cover, so not only was there a lump in the middle of the bed/beds but also a gap in the middle of the duvet/duvets! We go to call reception … but the phone doesn’t work. Great! So my partner gets dressed and heads downstairs returning with the promise of another duvet.

The food is not very and hookahs are so expensive.

We were given a gift voucher for a champagne meal and the cinema. The cinema was fine, but the meal was very basic. We basically had a choice of sausage and mash, fish and chips, steak and kidney pudding (Made with short crust pastry, to me that is a pie). We had been in the restaurant for half an hour and no one had come to ask us even if we wanted a drink. My husband had to go and ask if we could have some service. The food was ok nothing special, both our desserts were cold. I would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

We visited here for a cinema experience that we got as a present via Virgin Experiences. The hotel staff were very welcoming, the building clean and the bar was well-stocked with a wide range of drinks. The cinema itself was very cosy and had a good, clear screen and comfortable seating for a large number of people. The cinema boasts a number of screenings throughout the year and cover both relatively new as well as older films. Access throughout the hotel is very good.

Large room. Nice location But that's all the positive things said. We both have bad backs this morning from the terrible mattresses. Breakfast was chaos and tasteless. It was as if we'd surprised them by arriving. We did complain about the beds but very little notice was taken. It's not a cheap hotel. The location is good. And the building is interesting. However there are better places to stay. This hotel needs a bit of refurbishment.

Amazing location off Regent Street, almost directly opposite Liberty of London and just around the corner from bustling Oxford Circus. Plenty to do and see nearby with minimal fuss. Tastefully decorated throughout in a low-key grand if mildly dated fashion, and the front of house staff are helpful and welcoming. The Carnaby restaurant is conveniently located just off the lobby.

Good hotel in a historic building between Soho and Oxford Street. Well appointed rooms and decent bar. The other communal areas look a little dated decor wise, but overall really good.

This centrally located hotel features a large clean reception area and a little high class cinema as well. Staff are very helpful and polite. Would go there again.

I attended a preview screening at the cinema of the hotel. The cinema at first seemed small but when it filled we got a lot of people in there. The bar was comfortable and the staff were kind and attentive.

Had a lovely Japanese afternoon tea at the hotel. The food was tasty and the staff happily made some menu changes to accommodate dietary needs. The old court room was a great setting too.

Stayed here for two nights — the room was very nice and quite. Bed and bathroom perfect. Tub in the bathroom. The hotel is very centrally located, so easy transportation on foot from there. The negative part about my stay was some of the staff being exceptionally unprofessional. I'm not asking for much and can take just about anything — but I had an episode with the vaitors and kitchen staff in the evening dinner restaurant that was simply an embarrasment for the hotel. Apparently the staff thinks that just because you stand behind a counter that the guests cannot hear was is being said (not that they tried to keep their voices down). Almost every profane word you can think of was used and sometimes even screamed because the were touching / poking each other. Sounded like they were having a party — good for them, but me and the other guest was sending each eyes and shaking our heads. They were really stupid to listen to — acting like kids (which some almost were). Totally unprofessional. Breakfast staff however was very professional and polite, very nice — complete opposite than the unprofessional evening dinner staff. So three stars for a nice room, location and breakfast staff.

In the convergence between Mayfair, Soho and West End stands this hotel, located in a building of an old courthouse, very British. Impeccable décor, comfortable suites, fine dining at the Silk restaurant, and cocktails with its own name on the Toy Roof, with stunning views of London. After relaxing in the Spa with a dip in the indoor pool, the tradition is to join the tea ritual. In Carnaby Brasserie they serve it from one o'clock in the afternoon, with delicious sandwiches.

Do not book afternoon tea in the Carnaby Brasserie. Booked for my wife’s birthday days before and specifically booked for the pink afternoon tea. Arrived to the coldest of receptions and asked three times if we had booked! Yes I have and there is my name on your list.! Asked for our pink tea as requested only to be told the chef hasn’t had time to prepare it so can we have something else?
Absolute terrible service and pretty much ruined the rest of my wife’s treat for the day. Never ever will we step foot in there again and will tell all our friends not to bother either…

Very good location and Nice clean hotel. Had some plumbing work being done for some of our visit which caused some inconvenience, hence three stars. For central London price is pretty good.

Great food and service at Silk and then and enjoyable couple of drinks in the hotel bar. They have left in place little bits and bobs to show it was a courthouse. Little things like the cells which you can reserve and enjoy a drink in. :)

It is not a 5 star hotel. It deserves at maximum 3, 5 star. The staff is very friendly but the hotel is pretty outdated.

Love the location of the of the hotel, right in the heart of London! Easy to walk to a lot of the main attractions, or if you don't want to walk, take the underground. We had booked a Deluxe King, but our initial room was a Superior King, even though we were told it was a Deluxe as the hotel has different types of Deluxe rooms. After complaining, we were told our room would be changed the following day. Huge difference in the our new room… so check to ensure you are getting the right type of room you are paying for! 3 stars because of this… otherwise would be a higher rating.

Generally ok. It's on one hand well-equipped and furnished, but the hotel could use some refreshing. You could feel its best years have gone. Same level equipment I found in 3-stars hotels that weren't so expensive. No toilet brush, old and rickety ironing set, no hangers. Good breakfast, friendly staff, all good in terms of formal requirements.

The most: excellent location, friendly staff, helpful and available, clean room, spacious and comfortable, common areas and chic décor.
The least: Not very good thermal insulation, lack of drain in the sink (I said goodbye to the cap of my toothpaste) and no brush for the toilet which can be annoying for cleanliness.
I would recommend this property.

This spa was the worst ever The srevice and the facilities of a 2 star hotel The therapists were most unpleasant The place is appalling and The pool was cold & I couldn't work the shower and there was no one in there to help us All and all don't don't don't.

I went to the spa and received the worst customer service of my life. I came a few minutes late and they took 30minutes of my treatment because they refused to give me the full hour I booked or re-book the time and even the manager was rude and dismissive. I have never received such a terrible treatment from a hotel or spa and was applaud by their rudness.

The hotel is in a very good location but the rooms are very noisy at night so I would not recommend this hotel if you have to get up in the morning for business purposes. When I checked out I pointed out to the staff how my room 317 was unsuitable as a bedroom due to the ambient noises of lift and other mechanical devices to which I received no apologies or concern from them. I would not stay in this hotel again and would definitely not recommend it!

Booked us in the wrong room. Upcharged even though they screwed up. Horrible front desk service. When we reported the mice in our room, they sent a bottle of wine — as if that improved the mice colony in our room. And on top of it did not give is a break on the bill after the poor service. Manager was unbelievably rude. Never again. One star is too many for this sham.

If you like indian food please Try The Taj Restaurant in 10 Carlton Parade Orpington Kent BR6 0JB open 7 days a week Monday to Saturday 5.30pm to 11.30pm and Sunday 5.30pm to 11.00pm.

If I could give less I would do not stay here they photos are wrong it's worn down old battered stained marked broken impolite noisy crap over priced place to stay! I've stay in a 3 star that's better for less.

Very god hotell, great value for money, the best location, friendly staff and god breakfast.

I visited this hotel with my reward points on Hilton. The hotel is quite clean and conviently located to Oxford Circus and Canaby St, but far enough away that you don't feel over-run with congestion. Rooms are clean, properly insulated so you don't hear the neighbors and staff was helpful. My largest complaint was finding the location as it's hot indicated anywhere on the signage that it's a "Doubletree" property. So when I got into a cab and asked for the Doubletree near Canaby Street the driver looked at me like I had 3 heads. Pulling up to the hotel I realized why (virtually no identification of it being a Hilton or Doubletree property) That aside I had a pleasant stay.

Was lucky enough to get invited to a private movie screening at the beautiful Courthouse Hotel — what a beautiful gem! Don't be discouraged by some of the construction outdoors, it is absolutely immaculate inside. The staff are super professional and accommodating and the screening room is gorgeous with luxurious leather seats. A random highlight? I can't remember the last time I saw such a nice public toilet! I only wish I would have gotten to see one of the rooms — undoubtedly beautiful! My boyfriend and I felt like royalty for the night.
