Rude receptionist, money taken from bank account fir a different room, refused to provide a room bill, TV not working, smell of sewage.

Me and my partner visited here for a 2 night stay and we both really enjoyed this hotel. The staff were super helpful and happy, the security guard was always chatting to us when we was outside. The room was so clean, the bed was comfy. The bar was lovely set out and lovely decor. We really enjoyed the messages on the lift mirror each day! The hotel is 5 minute walk from a tube station so good location. Definitely would recommend staying here! We definitely will be staying here again in the future! 10/10❤️

I stay here every week and have stayed in many hotels, this is BY FAR the best for comfort, vibe, decor BUT MOST OF ALL the Customer Service, Check in, Bar staff, Breakfast staff ALL faultless and excellent at making you feel welcome. I cannot express the excellence in the experience!

Great food and service. Super vibe and atmosphere. Hope that stays when the place gets popular and overrun with east end sorts. Food was bang on. In particular the steak tartare is a fine example of the dish. Yasmin is delightful, so ask to sit in her section. She is engaging, eager to please and I wish she worked in my restaurant operation! Our neighbourhood is richer for Mama pitching up here.

Awful. – Paid for an ‘executive room’ and a premier inn would have been better! The only reason it is not a one star is because we were greeted/checked in by the nicest, most helpful woman. Our bed was dirty – rang reception for a new duvet to sleep on top of the first one as they couldn’t change the bed by the time we noticed how disgusting it was. After 30ish minutes they finally brought up a SINGEL duvet. This duvet was also dirty and half out of the sheet. So I ended up sleeping on the ripped sofa in our room. The towels had clumps of hair in them and the hand towel definitely wasn’t clean. But by this point I was fed up and just wanted to go home. When asked in the morning on check out, again no apology just a grunt from the man behind the desk and “if you had noticed earlier we could have got a cleaner to change your bed”. Looks nothing like the photos. Will not be back even if they paid me!

Good value for your money. Close to all the shoreditch hotspots. There’s a bus stop right in front so pretty accessible too. It will take you a while to go to other parts of London by bus, just a heads up. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. Had a great stay.

Nice hotel, room was spacious and comfortable, staff were friendly and efficient. I had an enjoyable stay. The neighbourhood is a quiet but interesting multicultural spot. Brick Lane is a 15 minutes walk away if you are after amenities and restaurants.

Honestly, got nothing bad to say about this hotel. Me and my partner stayed here one night, our room was nice and cold even though it was sweltering hot outside. It was very quiet when we returned to our room regardless of the party in the bar you couldn't hear it and the black out curtains were a blessing. Staff were lovely and were happy to hold onto our luggage while we went to a wedding. Highly recommend this hotel.

If I could give it zero I would. Staff were awful. Refused us check in as we didn't have the same credit card the booking was made in although our room had been paid for months ago. We could have paid the holding fee £50 per room but she would not let us do this on another card. We tried to explain that it was our work that had paid for the booking but she wouldn't allow us to use a different card and refused to check us in. We would have been left without a place to stay so had no option other than to pay for rooms and holding deposit on our debit cards while she said she would refund the original payment. So we had to pay nearly 400 pound on our debit card & this left us with no money for food or drinks in the evening. Completely ruined our stay. Then when we got out the lift on the fourth floor there were 2 scratched up sofas covered in food crumbs and the corridor was littered with used food plates. Disgusting.

I don't normally leave reviews but thought I should this time. Checked in at the hotel on a Monday and stayed until Wednesday. On the first night we decided to go to the restaurant in the hotel as we were tired from travelling that day. We were two of 4 people in the restaurant yet we sat for around 45 minutes before our order was taken. We ordered a chicken pizza and garlic bread a simple meal was all we felt like. We waited for almost an hour for our food and when it came out it was the wrong pizza. We sent it back to get the one we ordered and there was no apology. When our pizza came back out we received a small bowl of chips for the inconvenience. Our room was a king guest room for £230. The room and contents was fine but the bathroom still had hairs on the floor and in the bath. So at 1am on our first night the fire alarm went off and we went to the muster point outside until we received news of what was happening. No register of names was taken outside and no one told us what was happening. It was only when the fire brigade had come and gone people took it upon themselves to go back to there rooms. There was no apology or anything. It was roughly 2.00am when we got back to the room. At 7am (5hours later) we were awakened to a loud banging outside our room when we went out there was a staff member banging the lock on the room next door with a hammer and chisel. Apparently the door was locked or something. Again no apology for the disturbance.

Great prices, lovely rooms, enjoyed the food, maria the waitress is amazing and very pleasant.

Seriously, dunno where to begin. Mediocre rooms — I actually had wholes in my mattress, not kidding, and it wasn’t the worst part about the room. Bad service, sooo bad. Staff attitude was the worse part and in general I’m surprised this place is even exciting now days. Location is cute but there’s nothing special about it.

Really disappointing. The location of the hotel is great, with the entrance and the foyer being very nice however this I don’t think carried through the rest of the hotel. The room was adequate, however the style was dated. We were given two single beds when we asked for 1 double room with a double bed. The room was also abit dull and in my personal opinion have found better rooms in the travel lodge. The room phone was not working, which made it difficult to order room service and arrange late checkouts. In the communal hallway there are sofas which are terribly warn/ damaged, this was one of a few things that look neglected in the hotel. The food was very disappointing, nothing we ordered seemed fresh, not microwaved or from frozen which is surprising given the prices they were charging, also they charge you £3 to deliver room service, not impressed! The sauces had almost been left out for a few hours or an evening as the ketchup had set with a skin on top. They were not flexible at all when trying to remove or add toppings on a pizza, so we didn’t have one. Overall my stay was not bad but definitely disappointing and no where near my expectations, which were not high to begin with. I personally don’t think this hotel is worth its 4 stars and to put it plainly I’ve been more impressed with the rooms in the travel lodge than here. Lots of room to improve!

The location is perfect not far from Broadway Market and Victoria Park. Comfortable room.

Great location for the prosecco springs festival at Oval Space. Good clean rooms and lovely service from the staff at the hotel.

I've docked 2 stars; one for the Wi-Fi which is virtually unusable it's so slow, and one for the hotel claiming to be one mile from Liverpool Street Station, it's not. Other than that the hotel is ok, comfy beds, clean rooms, helpful staff. The bathrooms and corridors could use a bit of TLC, but other than that it's good.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good.
The only drawback is that you have to give a deposit of 100 pounds (for damage or poor care of the room) something that I found excessive.

Comfortable, quiet, and very well-priced if you get in early or find a deal. Good access to central London via the 55 bus, or Cambridge Heath Overground to Liverpool Street Station.

Decent hotel, tiny bar with poor selection. My room smelled of mold, but it's cheap and in a fun area so you get what you pay for.

There was not a thing that could have been done better, the staff were courteous and friendly. Five stars fully deserved.

It just sucked. Response to requests for broken stuff in the room took 3 daddy's to rectify. Not happy.

We stayed only 1 night so there's not much to say but in general the room was clean and nice, the underground car park is definitely a brilliant idea! We weren't worried about the car at all + for additional fee we were allowed to leave the car until the evening after the check out so that was very good. The reception could be slightly more efficient but we didn't deal with them more then 2-3 times so it would be unfair to say they're slow but other than that they were kind and helpful and given all the info we needed.

Stayed there for the second Time after the first visit was quite pleasant. Decent Overall Location (close to Flower Market & shoreditch) but this Time the room wasn't nearly as good since the bed was uncomfortable and the room quite wet/loud which shouldnt be the case for about 100 Euro per night. In the end I guess a fine place.

The Wife and I visited from the States, and we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and well maintained, and it was in a great location near the tube. Also, there is a set of City Bikes outside the lobby on the street, and I would highly recommend renting a bike for cheap and using that as your transpo around the city (weather permitting). Only thing I'd like to change was the parking, I believe it was 20 quid to park overnight. Pretty steep, but the alternative is free parking after around half 6 on the street.

Very modern hotel with spacious rooms and amenities for the price. 10 minutes from a tube stop. Only thing to watch out for is the location. It is a bit dubious calling it the Shoreditch hotel as it is about a 20 minute walk to Shoreditch. Otherwise, I'd happily stay again.

Decent hotel in a great location. Rooms are okay. Nice and clean but a little dated. The location is fantastic though. Make sure you visit the Breaking Bad themed bar about 20 seconds away.

Great trendy Hotel on the Shoreditch borders. Staff friendly, facilities and services good. Busy road outside only drawback. Otherwise recommended!

Used this hotel for a gig at the Olympic Stadium. 10mins to get to the tube & 10mins to get to the stadium. Well equipped simple, neat & tidy modern rooms. Quiet & a good night's sleep, all good.

A very pleasant atmosphere, bus stop right outside the door and good bus connection to the Center. Only the breakfast was not so… (e. G. Cold Coffee)

Very nice hotel, well located to go downtown.
You have a bus stop in front (number 55) that leaves you at Oxford Circus, it takes about 40 minutes but you go straight and seeing known areas on the typical London bus. You have the Metro 15 minutes (Bethnal Green) which is the Central red line that stop at almost all major sites with a maximum transhipment.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very nice, the breakfast was very good and the room was very clean. The water from the mini bar is free by the way which is quite curious though the hotel water is pretty good.
It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, with no noise and 10 minutes from Bethnal Green Street where you can find supermarkets, pubs and normal and fast food restaurants.
Highly recommended, we will return safe.

This is a really nice hotel in a great area. Loads of bars and cool places nearby in trendy Hackney. The bar shows sports and has a really nice selection of drjnkjns which are all reasonably priced — particularly considering the area the hotel is located in. There are really nice rooms which are comfortable and I enjoyed staying in very much. Thank you for a great stay. I am looking forward to returning soon!

Clean hotel in convenient location. Be careful … they advertise free car parking when on line booking but charged us £20 per day and would not honour or take responsibility for the on line offer. Were actually quite rude about it. No help with suitcases … not the Aussie way!

Not great. Maybe I just had a bad room but the mattress was old and knackered with completely shot springs. Pillows were foam and uncomfortable. Towels were scratchy and worn. The TV was old tiny with a broken remote and the picture was cropped. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the nearest tube and although it purports to be in (up and coming) Shoreditch, it’s actually in the somewhat less gentrified Bethnal Green. On the plus side it’s usually reasonably priced and the staff are excellent.

The rooms on the street side are very noisy the staff is unpleasant, does not consider it helpful to notify the guests on arrival and refuses to make the security deposit while the room has been verified
I would not advise this hotel.

I stayed at The RE Hotel London Shoreditch overnight and was extremely happy with the price I paid for the stay, the hotel and the overall service. The room (Superior Double) was spacious and comfortable and the staff were all helpfully, friendly and polite. Will definitely be using this hotel again in the future.

The room was cramped and stuffy, with no way to get hold of cool drinking water. The location is pretty rubbish: it's a long walk to the nearest proper tube station. And the lifts are slow and shout at you in French.

I stayed here for 2 nights at a great price. The staff were friendly and always willing to help out. The rooms are spacious enough and the place generally has a good atmosphere.

Wasn't clean. Lots of stains. The shower was a joke. Towels hard. No shower gel. The TV was too small and didn't work. The shower gel superb. Bed was big. Free Wi-Fi.

Positives: very dark, quiet room. Quiet in general — quick to check in and out and they stored our suitcases whilst we went shopping. Big room, excellent shower. Complimentary water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies! Negatives : bed sheet and pillows dirty with what looked like fake tan, not nice. Cleaners didn't know we were checking out do knocked on door trying to clean room at 9.30 and didn't really understand us when we explained. Bar tender talking to two men when we tried to get a drink, they already had drinks but he took a long time to serve us and we had to ask three times for an Archers and lemonade, even pointing the Archers out.

An otherwise good experience unfortunately made sour by rather abrasive staff who handle reservations on the phone. I made a mistake upon checking in (not worth going into, something to do with using the wrong card — my mistake — not the hotels) but I did not appreciate the tone and manner in which the call centre staff handled my call when I tried to resolve it on the phone. To be fair, they did provide me with a satisfactory explanation for my situation — but the issue I have is purely with the quality of phone service provided. Aside from that, no complaints about the hotel itself — all as promised.

It was great. Read some bad reviews and was worried. No need. Clean rooms of a decent size. Friendly staff. Bit of a walk to the tube, but not unpleasant. A lot of homeless scrounging outside but I didn't feel uncomfortable when out with my wife. All in all a great clean better than expected hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't think it'll be nice. But it was decent. Especially for one night, you can't go wrong.

Quiet Hotel, close to bus stop matching prices.

Very nice hotel, like the rest of the city. Great impression, clean and helpful staff. I just slept. In 5-10 minutes you get to walk to the metro station.

The rooms on the street side are far too noisy.

First of all the location is not perfect but well served by many buses.
Then come to the room (121 in this case for us) and there it is the drama.
— The worst being the window that does not close well due to a damaged system, result we hear everything that happens in the street and the cold invades the room.
— The bathtub/shower is not suitable for large people (which is my case)
— Yellow traces on towel to wipe hands
— No toilet brush
— Air conditioning is cold when you ask for 23 degrees. By increasing to 26 one gets hot but very noisy system
— The bed is large but extremely soft
-Breakfast will suit those who like the salty but I stayed on my hunger me who loves the sweet.
In short we were disappointed but the opinion could have been totally different by having another room without all these annoyances.

I recommend. Good service, nice rooms with king size bed, nice bathtub. Breakfast Service at the right will. Only downside no hot chocolate at breakfast. The hotel is well located in relation to St Pancras and to visit London. Bus at the foot of the hotel, Metro 10 MN Walk.

It was a very nice hotel. We hear all the noise from the outside and the noise emanating from the piping. Really bad.

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. The room was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and plump. The Wi-Fi is free but terribly slow despite having a great connection to the AP. That didn't matter too much to me as 4g was available in the area. All in all a good hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Good hotel for a reasonable price in an unreasonably priced city. Comfortable rooms, nice decor. Breakfast is extra and over-priced: hit the street and pay half at any one of a few local cafes.

Nice hotel. Very clean room for our overnight stay, friendly staff & close to Cambridge Heath train station for easy access into Liverpool Street. Only issue for me as a technology lover was the small TV in our room. If we're ever around the area again, the RE will likely be our go to hotel!

We arrived at 12pm and were told it would be £40 to get into our room early, so we left our bags with reception and asked how late we could check in, as we wanted to go for a proper day out. Reception advised they were 24 hours so we could come back as late as we liked. I phoned at 7pm as we wanted to go for dinner and may not get back until after 10pm; they said this would be okay. We got back around 11pm, tired and ready for bed. We checked in and had to pay a £50 security deposit even though we had paid for our room in full at the time of booking. We went up to our room number on the third floor, but the card key we had been given didn't work. I went back to reception, confirmed the room number and they replaced it. That also didn't work so I had to go down again and was given a third card key to try. This also didn't work so the night porter came up with the master key and opened the door for us and switched on the light to the sound of screaming from two people who had been asleep in the bed! He rushed off downstairs leaving us sitting by the lifts with our luggage. Eventually we were shown to another room — a twin, although we had booked a double. It had a rattly air conditioner and a toilet that wouldn't flush. It was also adjoining to another room and the person on the other side was very noisy talking loudly late into the night which unfortunately we heard every word of.

This is good. The staff are always happy to help us, it is a really clean hotel and the rooms are good but unfortunately it is too small but comfortable.

Hotel is basic and fine. I'd recommend it to those on a budget. Having sat in the lobby for a few hours, they desperately need to update their musical playlists from the late 90s…

I decided to stay at this hotel last minute for a Friday night out in shoreditch. When getting back to the hotel early hours in the morning slept for abit then had to book another night due to check out time being 11. I paid reception as they called and said they will start charging 30 pounds and more at reception then when I come back to the room I kept sneezing and coughing due to the dusts on the pillows and bed sheet, I asked housekeeping that were next door to have these cleaned and said they will not be long but waited till 1.30 but no one came to clean the room also I booked a double room but the four star hotel gave me a twin room which means both two single beds were put together which meant it was awkward to sleep next to my partner. Putting all of that aside I called reception couple times but nobody picked up. Then I decided to go downstairs espessially not being in a fit state and tired I went to ask for a refund but the duty manager was adiment and un professional with the circumstance and non so pathetic towards my concerns. I did not want to stay at the hotel any longer the way I was feeling poorly and the way the customer service was below expectation, I said to the duty manager Mario that charge me till two o'clock but I do not want to stay the night and I had paid 159.00. I was forced to stay and because I had no other money at that time ended up having to stay, he did not listen and kept talking over me and my partner, I felt most uncomfortable.

This is the worst experience I have ever to endure at a hotel I checked in on 11th October, 2015. While at the front des, k I was robbed of my backpack which contained my purse and valuables. I had to call Scotland Yard myself, Staff was not helpful. No security in hotel To make matters worse when my colleague and I checked out on October 14 they told us that they could not find our cash deposit. They said they would have to mail it to us. I have never experienced such poor service in my life.

So, I'm sitting in the room right now and I just heard my neighbour unzip their suit case. One of my other neighbours just beat the crap out of their door to get what I can only assume is their roommate to respond, that or they just got robbed. This morning I heard my other neighbour pee. I'm a here on my own but my room is attached by a door to another room. As I type this message, I can hear the people I'm sharing a room with hang up their clothes. Everything else is as expected but does it really matter?

Had a horrible experienced. VERY long story short, I traveled from USA to sleep in a bad that had stains all over the comforter, pillows and the matt. I also had someone walk into my room telling me the front desk gave them the keys. Had I not been in the room, all my valuables and money would have most likely be stolen! When speaking to manager they refused to return my funds so I can go to another hotel and refused to refund at least also portion. Unsafe, unsanitary. This should be a 2-3 star hotel, not 4.

Nice clean rooms and friendly staff. A little bit expensive.

Appalling service, I was accused of stealing a bathrobe, made to miss my cab, only for them to tell me they were wrong but still didn't apologise for the embarrassment caused. Im young man of black british ethnicity aswell, so you can imagine… also coupled with the fact that they blurted it out in front of other customers, not even attempting to giving me the benefit of the doubt considering ive stayed there many a time, once for a whole month £3, 000+, anyway the service isnt what it was 2 years ago, its more 3 star-ish if you ask me. Good location though. Really slow Wi-Fi, I mean 56k dial-up slow. Food is very expensive and tastes like carpet. Though I must say they sell shots of courvoisier XO for under £10 which is a plus for cognac drinkers. Oh and the 2 lifts are really slow, you could crawl up the stairs quicker, why they have to announce the floor number in 2 languages is beyond me, I mean, numericals are pretty universal arent they? eve in japan and china, number 1, is written as "1"

Nice hotel, rubbish staff. Bad attitudes and generally unhelpful.

Up to standard for cleanliness and service. Not comparable to hotels in Japan in term of service. Staff are normally helpful and infomative with the tourist attractions. Bed is not as comfortable and TV programs are limited. Comfortabe reception area but the location is a bit far from underground. Taking a bus to and from hotel is more easy.

I base my assessment on the hundreds of hotels I stay at year in year out. This is at best a 3* not a 4*! It audacious to label it so. ++ *Room is clean and has bells and whistles to 3 star level (not 4. ) *Room had tea, coffee and biscuits, small fridge. *Wi-fi a bit of a crawl but hey, its free — — *Check in process needs improvement. Not at all expedient at almost a quarter of an hour. *Higgledy piggledy bed arrangement. 2 singles scooted together to make a double bed? Not ideal *Ridiculous mandatory check out time of 11:00AM or pay extra (never EVER been at a hotel around the world with such a ridiculous check out time. 12:00PM is standard. ). Unbending rules despite checking in after 10:00PM. Very very disappointing not to get at least 1 courtesy hour extension. Says a bit about management's view of the customer. They'll charge you 20 quid a piece for each extra hour even if you got in at 1AM as I was made to understand. *Thin walls. I can hear the neighbor coughing, clunking, pottering around and grunting. Smh *It has promise but in my opinion — a place to chill for the night and not inclined to return.

Comfortable, well furnished trendy hotel in Shoreditch. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom and reasonable line up of TV channels. No fridge in the room. Plenty of plugs in the room, handy to charge cameras/mobiles/tablets/laptops overnight. Lobby bar, which is ope until very late, has an excellent selection of beers and wines as well as spirits. Friendly staff are to the point and process check in and check out efficiently, as well as any other questions and/or requests. Considering how good value for money it was, I will stay here again.

Overall average, the staff on check in were friendly but on food service not great. Was waiting 10 minutes for cheese and biscuits which consisted of 3 types of chedar. The room was tidy and breakfast was good, at times it felt like a bit of love for the hotel had gone from the staff. Okay if you just wanting somewhere to sleep.

Worst customer service I have ever had at a hotel, bar none! Staff refused to give my deposit back, and I had to pay a deposit, because one idiot employee of theirs broke my credit card while forcing it into the wrong machine. Staff had no idea about the layout of the city, and sent us in the wrong directions multiple times. Not surprising, because non of the staff were actually from England. They refused to honour my free breakfast, despite me booking on their site Over priced, and simply not worth the money spent. Stay at the Hilton, or the Holiday Inn, or just outside the city, but NOT here.

This used to be a very nice hotel, but last weekend I got the impression that it is really going downhill. After driving all night from Germany I wanted to check in at 1.30 p. M. And they actually wanted an extra 20 pounds for that (check in time is 2 p. M. ). The little fridge in the room did not work, the shower was boiling hot — sometimes these little things give you a good — or a terrible — impression. A false fire alarm kept us awake between 3 and 4 a. M. On Saturday. The original alarm was not the hotel`s fault, but apparantly they did not handle the problem very well. A drink on the house would have been a nice gesture, but that did not cross the management`s mind. In general, the staff is not very friendly. Might have been the last time I chose the RE Shoreditch.
