Gorgeous quirky hotel. Antiques throughout. Staff are lovely.

A brilliant place! And amzing staff.

We stayed at The Gore in 2017 for a few nights. Staff was very friendly, the room was beautiful and very clean. If you want excellent service and a touch of class this is what You’re looking for.

Very nice hotel, location is terrific. Staff is attentive and try hard. Only thing that kept it from being a 5 was the AC went out so they moved us to a new room and then then AC went out again in there after 3 days.

I don't know it is so highly rated. If it is much cheaper I rate higher but the rooms in general are so tiny and dated despite its gorgeous photos we see on its website. It is located in nice area of full embassies. But a bit of walk to stations. Staff are friendly but not really professional I myself will never stay here nor recommend my friends. Disappointed.

My Daughter and I had afternoon tea yesterday. We were disappointed with our visit. The setting was lovely. The young lady who served us was very pleasant but she brought our tea over and didn't say which tea was which. We had different teas. It was a tea bag not loose leaf. The jam was in individual jars not home made and the scones where so crisp it was like eating digestive biscuits. Yesterdays bake reheated? As we left the hotel we asked the duty concierge about Daniel Galmiche. He didn't know who he was and if he actually worked at the hotel. Really! He didn't know that a chef of Daniel's calibre was at the hotel! He offered to check the staff rota to see if he worked there. I feel he needs more training. We will be back for dinner as we love Daniel but, not for afternoon tea.

The Gore are a beautiful and charming Victorian hotel that used to be hotel/lodging quarter from the very beginning. It was well maintained and comfortable. Bed comfort is very important to me and Starhotels have not yet dissapoint me. The amenities were excellent, Penhaligon’s product — Blenheim Bouquets. Slight issue during check in due to last minutes booked (1.5 hrs prior arrival). There were flies inside the original room. The concierge were very swift and move me to another room. The concierge also were knowledgable of the area, appreciate all the helps. One suggestion, is to put the history of the hotel in a better catalogue/book instead of combine it with the room information book. Overall I enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back. What a lovely hotel, very oldy worldy. This hotel is in a great spot right across the road from Kensington gardens and yet it is super quiet. I had a lovely short stay and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Thank you for everything.

Very centrally located hotel with all the amenities you could wish for as a guest.

This is a lovely hotel next to Kensington gardens with easy access to public transit and many parts of the city. The staff is pleasant and the hotel it self is very old school London elegant. The only problem o found coming at a warmer time of year is pack of climate controls in the room. The experience in total made up for it but this may be a deal breaker for some.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights after our wedding and before we went on our honeymoon to Thailand. The Gore Hotel did not disappoint — amazing decor, oozing with personality and charm. The place is immaculate and the staff are so pleasant and friendly, everyone we dealt with was very professional and competent. We enjoyed great cocktails in Bar 190 and whilst not the cheapest in London, the ambience of the place really makes the night out both memorable and special. The breakfast and bar menu snacks were great too. We look forward to our next visit to the Gore Hotel.

Endearing place where The Rolling Stones made the art of The Beggar's Banquet. Very good drinks. Decade-by-decade Victorian atmosphere. Let's go. ❤

Narrow rooms with uncomfortable layout. Room was dirty, old and all furnitures weren’t renovated, very noisy. You hear everything outside and inside the hotel (others guest, staff and cars). Not worth to stay here, our experience was disappointing I would like to write one sentence about the hotel, it’s just a nice pictures on the websites but not real.

Very nice hotel, right next to the Hydepark and the Royal Albert, British flair.

Five star hotel. Everything is real swanky, as you might expect. There's a real historical sense to it all though. The views from the window are beautiful, especially if you're up on the fourth or fifth floor. Good bar, quite comfortable. The only downside, in all honesty, is the shower. I don't know if it's the same in all rooms, but in ours the head only came up too about my nose, which meant I had to duck in order to fit, and I got my head at least three times per shower. I'm only 5'9", so hey, maybe 200 years ago it would have been a great fit but now… Yeah, standard five star, beautiful atmosphere, there's a high rated restaurant and bar, and they even have a library! Those showers though. Oh boy, those showers…

Stunning hotel, looks beautiful and packed full of history. The bar is amazing, the breakfast was delicious. The room was incredible and the bed was really comfortable. Location is perfect for the Albert Hall and also for the museums. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to help. Thoroughly recommend this place.

The venue is beautiful, really lovely and full of character! It's a little expensive, but that's expected. The staff are attentive and friendly. I'd definitely go again, and would recommend it to a friend!

Food poor. Main course veggie offering was a couple of small slices of grilled squash, three tiny beets and some oil. Quite tasty but would be a small portion for a starter. Rubbish value.

Went for a drink at the bar and paid way too much for a glass of distinctly mediocre wine. The staff put on a 10% service charge which was completely unjustified for the zero-level of service we received. Unfortunately my friend paid the charge without me realising. I certainly would have contested it…

A really nice hotel. The rooms are styled beautifully, the breakfast is great (although not super big) and cleaning of the room is good. Overall a good experience!

I have been here a few times and always find this bar interesting. Really great cocktails but limited seating and a strange caliber of guests.

We enjoyed our stay but felt like the staff were mostly Eastern Europeans (not English, which we had hoped). We got pressure from the moment we entered to "upgrade" our room for $200, then quickly the agent said, "But for you only $100. " And, then in her next breath said, "OK, only $80 for a suite. " We upgraded but shouldn't have, I think most of the rooms were quite similar.

The Gore Hotel is a wonderful place to stay when visiting London. The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings. The reception staff are very welcoming, very helpful and friendly. The room we stayed in was a joy and met all are needs. The room staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was wonderful and well cleaned with a turn down for our return at the end of the day. I couldn't rate it any higher and look forward to returning soon!

Lovely decor for the hotel and bar. BUT… Single room lacking in cupboard space. No chest of drawer or other space to place shirts, sock or underwear. Scaffolding outside of window for repainting. Asked for an upgrade (complimentary as a Tablet Plus member), but none available. Breakfast buffet choice very good. Staff very friendly. Conclusion: my room was barely acceptable for me alone. However had I come accompanied it would have been an unqualified disaster.

My wife and I stayed for one night as we were attending the Folk awards at the Albert Hall. We had a great stay. Nice bar with good service and good cocktails, we didn't have time to try the bar food or restaurant but if breakfast is anything to go by it would be very good. Great service. The only down sides were a slightly tricky shower in the bathroom and the scaffolding that was outside our bedroom window. Hopefully next time we stay the outside decoration will have been completed and the shower will have been updated.

Amazing hotel and bar. Lots of historical rock and roll moments have happened here! A must for cocktail lovers.

I was taken here for my birthday. It's a nice hotel full of atmosphere. There is a nice bar on the ground floor serving cocktails (a little expensive). The staff in the hotel were very attentive. Our room was lovely with a big four post bed. The only downside was the fact the room was very very hot with no way to cool is down apart from a tiny window.

The most unfriendly and rude staff you will ever meet in a so called 5 * boutique Hotel. There tonight for a wedding (which was beautiful) where the staff were more like Burger King staff than what you would expect at a Hotel like this. I am typically English and thus very rare to complain. To do so must be living proof that this Hotel is obviously run by amateurs. What a disappointment. Do not stay here. There are far better Hotels in London. A quarter pounder with cheese would have been a better meal than the one we were served. Rotten place.

Pros: — it looks nice — it's located in a nice area Cons: — expensive Wi-Fi (in the free Wi-Fi age) — some mixed style of swedish buffet — very easy to hear the noise from other rooms or the hall.

I have just had one night's stay at The Gore which I chose mainly for it's proximity to the Royal Albert Hall. Everything was quite simply exceptional from the moment the taxi dropped us off and we were greeted by one of the two delightful concierges, to our departure where nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were gorgeous — the only slight issue was that they were a little too hot — but not a problem (and i'd rather be too hot than too cold. ) The staff were the best mix of courteous and willing and came across as genuinely sincere when they hoped we would enjoy our stay. We took my 80 year old mum and she really appreciated the homely but elegant authentic surroundings. The pre-theatre supper was great and The Gore is perfect for walking in Hyde Park or hitting the most stylish shops. I seriously recommend this hotel on all counts and will be going again. 5 stars well deserved, thank you.

A lovely place to stop in for a relaxing cocktail and a snack. The service is very helpful and friendly. The decor speaks of a finer age.
