Staff are very friendly accommodating, upgraded my room from standard to superior and gave us a £10 drinks voucher for it being my Anniversary stay. Received a courtesy call from reception to ask how my stay was and if I needed anything at all just ask. Stunning hotel and fantastic location very clean and luxurious to stay.

Positives: Great location, good and clean rooms. Good car park at a reasonable price. Restaurant meals are good. Negatives: bar and restaurant staff are poorly trained resulting in not up to standard service. Bar staff can sort change “doubles”. Can become congested during check-in and poor organization at reception.

Uncomfortable beds, pillows were like rocks. It was in a great location.

Chaotic check in — rooms not ready — tried to move me to an unprepared room — all services finish at 10.30pm — terrible place.

The rum was very run down. The extra bed we were given was covered in urine stains and hade a large rip in the mattress. We were promised a replacement bed but never received it. The toilet was hard to flush and there was a lot of noise in the room throughout the night. To top it off when we came back after a day out we came back to an open bottle of bleach or something similar which had been left behind after cleaning. Luckily I noticed it before my kids did otherwise who knows what might have happened. How ever many stars this hotel has it is too many.

Nice big clean place. Unfortunately there was s drunk abusive male in the bar and staff did nothing to intervene.

We had a lovely 2 night stay here. Room was very comfortable, hot shower and great view of The Royal Albert Hall. Breakfast had lots of choice plenty for everyone. Staff were very helpful and polite. Hotel only 5 minute walk to high street Kensington Station so great location. We would highly recommend and can't wait to stay again.

Terrible hotel with run down rooms and poor, surly staff Apparently no place to buy any soft drinks or water after 1030hrs. All public area shut down. I would expect better from a 2 star Hotel. Avoid.

We arrived after paying for the Executive Suite to be told by reception that the previous people staying in the room had decided to extend the stay so our room was no longer available! When I questioned this I was told by the Manager who was extremely unhelpful that they had not told reception and had gone out for the day. Laughable if I wasn’t so mad! What if all guests just did this?! We were also expecting access to the club lounge as advertised on the website, this is also not open! We were offered some money back and a club room, basically a double, nothing like what we had booked or expected. In the room we were offered, the toilet only flushed when it felt like, the TV remote did not work so all in all it was very disappointing. The money we were given did not come close to the cost of the room we were given and we not offered any compensation for the shambles we experienced. On chatting to 2 other guests whist there, they also advised that the same had happened to them and they were not given the rooms that had been booked and paid for. Either there is massive problem with the booking service or the hotel is offering rooms on the website when they are not actually available Over the 4 days of our stay our rooms were not refreshed with the advertised tea or coffee, we had a towel between the 2 of us, the beds were left unmade, we did not see any sign of housekeeping in any part of the hotel throughout the 4 days we were there!

Really helpful and friendly staff, although not a full menu from Bugis restaurant, staff do everything they can to assist whilst they only have a few customers due to COVID.

Room needed updating and the TV had stripe going through the middle. Breakfast was served in cardboard boxes. We paid £12 per breakfast to eat on proper cutlery.

Such a beautiful place to stay, loved the message we received to upgrade and was well worth it. Room was great can’t say enough.

If staying for more than one night I would not be happy. The room has no drawers, the TV is temperamental and goes off Randomly. The bedside lamp is broken. However the bathroom facilities are great and everything is very clean. The bar is typical hotel in London and expensive but had plenty of choice, plenty of staff and loads of seating. All in all I would recommend it.

Good customer service but the parking is so expensive.

Having stayed at this hotel in May and had a great time. I was disappointed to return to be charged twice the price. On the upgrade charged £35 plus vat making it £209 for what turned out to be exactly as a standard room. Asked to change room it was same as first room! Gave up as reception was like a cattle market where several other people were complaining, went off to see our concert. Needless to say we won’t be returning to be ripped off. Prices are all inc Vat in UK but the receptionist wasn’t having this!

We stayed 5 adults and 3 kids and they where amazing and lovely with the kids and service!
We will absolutely return and stay here again. It was lovely food in all 3 restaurants and a big thanks to the wonderful concierges that were working big smiles and high fives for the kids! And also to the front office manager that came and gave the children teddy bears thanks for a lovely stay.

Nice place very relaxing the staff was a little slow getting our rooms ready we had a big crowd 81 people's but the wait was worthed.

I have good reason to believe that a staff member took my engagement ring. The response I get from management is that they wouldn’t do that. Newsflash: hotel employees are known for stealing guest’s belongings. Would not recommended if you are expecting your belongings to be safe and for management to take reports of theft seriously.

The most Fanastic and amazing Hotel and wonderful Service. I would Highly Recommend the Breakfast and the Canpes in the Club room. And the staff are really thoughtful because it was my Birthday on the 27th of April and when I come back from a day out the Hotel gave me a big Slice Chocolate Cake with Strawberries thank you very much for your Hospitality. And the Rooms are always Clean and Tidy by Housekeeping and they always knock before Entering and they make the beds and Leave Extra Bottles of Water and Tea and Coffees every day. I would come back to this hotel.

A bit dated but staff are lovely, room service was excellent, good location.

Been on tour with an Australian choir for three and a half weeks stayed in hotels in Edinburgh, Newcastle, York, Chester, Cardiff Northampton and finally here and got say this is the worst one out of the tour. Reception is like a cattle market, breakfast is a farce this morning they had 9 choirs staying here and only the bar area open for breakfast? Yesterday they had 3 rooms open and less people here. Some people had to q for over one and a half hours. Copthorne Tara Newcastle was 100% better. Would not book this hotel again if I was coming to London again.

Great location but hotel is just okay. 3 star at best. It's overcrowded on weekends. Beds are small if you are two. Rooms and washrooms are old. Staff tries to be good but mostly they can't answer much outside the box. Other Millennium properties are better (but more expensive as well)

We had a decent stay at Copthorne Tara but I had definitely expected more out of a 4-star hotel. Not sure if these are just my North American hotel standards. We had a superior room and it was a good size, plenty of room for luggage and over-packers. I really liked that there was a proper closet in the room, as well. The room's a little outdated and doesn't feel fresh. Bathroom was clean but the sink did not drain well. Safe in the room broke after two days. There were 5 elevators (if I remember correctly), so you would think the wait should be very short but we were always waiting so long for the elevators. During our week-long stay, two people got stuck in the elevators on separate occasions. The location of the hotel is excellent, very close to many cafés, restaurants, shops, and most importantly the tube station. Overall, our stay was decent but if I'm looking for a 4-star stay, I don't think I'd go back to Copthorne Tara.

Ell placed just behind Kensington High Street underground station. This is a fairly modern hotel which is well positioned for London. It is regularly used by flight crews who have their own reception area. The rooms are well appointed with free fast Wi-Fi. The bed we had was a super king size. The bathroom was modern and clean. Breakfast was buffet style and very good offering plenty of variety. My only complaint is that the tea and coffee served at breakfast were tepid. All in all this was a very good experience.

Very nice hotel. We got upgraded once purchasing breakfast vouchers and access to the executive lounge which has lovely seating area with tea/coffee/pop/cookies/fruit. (Also they have free wine in the evening which we haven't tried yet) Staff is friendly. Bed is comfortable. Would stay here again.

Location, location, location. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Kensington Palace and its awesome tour including Princess Diana's dresses is just round the corner. The hotel's restaurant has tasty food and authentic fish n chips. A good place to stay in a central location.

Hotel in a convenient location for bus and Metro. The staff were very helpful.

U. S. Traveler — While the rooms weren't super renovated, the area felt safe and the bed was comfortable. They had usb outlets so I did not need my power adapters. It was close enough to all the popular areas to get there easily by tube, but far enough to not have to deal with insane amounts of people. Great location. Rooms moderate. Reasonably priced. I would stay there again.

Huge room size for a London hotel. Very clean and well decorated. Price is pretty fair, and affordable for the amazing quality of service, cleanliness and size of the room. If you are up for a little walk you will find the earls court subway station less than 10 minutes away, however the walk to the hotel is a very pleasant one. Overall I would no doubt on staying here again.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a really great deal (for hotels in London at least). We booked without breakfast, so I can't review on that. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very tidy and we had absolutely zero complaints. From the outside the hotel doesn't look much but don't let that fool you.

We just stayed at this hotel. It's really the best. Close to the subway. The rooms are very good. Plus: 4 g mobile phone made available during your stay. It's a very handy spot in London. Breakfast was great.

The only problem we had was in the booking process. We couldn't book a day room along with a regular reservation. Everyone was very helpful, and there was an amazing breakfast! Book with the breakfast. Totally worth it!

We stayed for 3 nights, quiet location A few steps from the metro, clean and comfortable rooms with iron and ironing board, phono, safe box, fridge and extension with two x USB attachments, recommended.

Hotel ac worked good in the day but would not cool room at night, this would be ok if you slept during the day. Traveled with a group of 35 and everyone said the same. Several called the front desk but no results. Would not recommend this hotel if you want a good night sleep.

The worst £170 I've spent. When you book a superior double room, check in, and there is nothing superior about it. It's a twin room that has an ajoining door. It took us over half an hour to check in. Just a shocker in general. I have left photos as there are marks on the walks and the table/desk looks like it's had bleach spilt on it. The bath has had a hole in it. The wire for the TV is put into horrific conduit. Will not be staying here again.

Had a lovely time in the Singapore/Chinese restaurant… we had duck n pancakes, sweet n sour lobster soup, seafood broth wz seasonal veg, beautiful giant king prawns.

The rooms are the biggest I've seen anywhere in London (in the price range), so that's good. Walking distance from local transportation and restaurants. Great staff. Very pleased.

Very large Hotel and located in a very quiet and elegant area. The prices perhaps excessive as the rooms a little small would need to be renovated. There are not many places nearby but the Metro is two steps away, so it's easy to get around in more frequented areas.

Good hotel, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are comfortable, with Wi-Fi, TV, kettle, fridge, safe, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, air conditioning (closed windows) and bathroom with bathtub (no bidet). Gym available. Breakfast buffet Continental and English abundant but dear, it is advisable to book it together with the room.

My friend booked a cream tea with finger sandwiches. The hotel is tucked away and as a non-Londoner I found it a walk to get to. Maybe a taxi was in order. Very nice decor inside and helpful reception staff. It took a while to be seated but we were picked up by presumably the manager of the restaurant who seemed miffed his customers weren't being served. The food was good but not exceptional. The tea went cold quicker than expected. We asked if we could move seats which they happily accommodated. We had a lovely time talking and sharing stories but as time went on we got the impression we had over stayed our welcome. We enjoyed ourselves enough to order prosecco as an extra but we again felt we were there too long for the staff. 50/50 if we would do it again.

Hotel itself is a bit dated, comfortable and clean rooms. Kettle, iron board, fridge and aircon are standard. Windows don't open though. Bar open until midnight. Asian fusion restaurant in house. The hotel is situated in the middle of Kensington, close to the underground station, Marks & Spencer's, Boots and eateries. 10 minutes walk from the park. Couple of pubs close by.

The Bugs Street restaurant has very helpful attentive staff and serves Singaporean cusine, so may be slightly different to most Chinese Restaurants that people in the UK are used to. Food there is good. Make a booking, as the restaurant is not that large.

Really nice area of Kensington and the entrance hall was very grand but they were the only positives. The hotel was very dated, there was a leak whilst we were there so there was maintenance noise and hoovering outside our room from 6 in the morning. The electricity had also been switched off without any warning. I understand these things sometimes can't be helped, but the staff at breakfast were also very rude and the food wasn't great, won't be staying here again.

This place is fine — I would say an adequate tourist hotel. Our room and bathroom was comfortable, if rather shabby. I thought the buffet breakfast in the morning was very good; much better than the usual offering. Also the staff working in the breakfast area were really nice and friendly. The location is quite good, it;'s well connected with Tube and bus. It was fine.

The bathroom is old and not spotless, the staff is nice the location is convenient to reach the most attractive places there is the Metro at 200 m.

Location very good, right around the corner is boots, MC Donald, tube station Kensington, Indian restaurant, Tesco, Bank, … To Kensington Park with the palace in which Princess Diana lived and at times William with Kaht are only a few minutes walk. At the moment, Prince Harry is probably living with his betrothal there. I found the bus and Tube connection super. Our room was at the top of the floors were few days on site, breakfast was also okay, net can grumble. There is a small Geschänkeshop and a Chinese restaurant in the house. Well the rooms to the sunny side are somewhat disallowed by the sun's rays. Would have to be renovated a bit. For us the price was good but okay at the time, over Valentine's Day, 4nächte. London is very expensive to stay that you have to know and you can meet it much worse and much more expensive than at our time. U.

Hotel offering great value for money for London. Very close to the metro and the Kensington museums. Staff very nice and helpful. The room is large compared to the London standards. Attention, some rooms overlook the railways and you hear the subway pass.
What we did not appreciate: The maid opened the door of the room without hitting while the card "Do Not Disturb" was hung! She asked if we were leaving that day! Uhhh… is it really up to us to answer this question? In a well-run hotel, the maid must have the schedule of the day with the room numbers to be stored either after a departure or for a recoat. Or if the schedule is not clear, contact your supervisor! And above all, the least of things — knock! And wait for the answer before entering the room! Or even better — don't hit if the occupants ask not to be disturbed! Anyway, it's not for me to teach you the job…
And for the end, a classic — black hair on the floor of the bathroom and in the bedroom…

Stayed here because of it's proximity to the Royal Albert Hall. We were very impressed with the high standard of cleanliness of the room and other areas, and the friendliness of the staff. With on site restaurants and a coffee bar, the hotel offers a good choice of eating options. Will definitely be returning on our next RAH visit.

We went to the Copthorne Tara Hotel for afternoon tea, we had a voucher and though it was excellent value. You got unlimited tea which was a bonus and a great selection of sandwiches, scones and desserts. The bread could have been been fresher and they needed more selection for the vegetarian. The staff were attentive and made sure we were happy. It is also a hotel with a chiense restaurant and a bar and has an excellent location in Kensington.

Very busy hotel in super location to Circle Line. Lots of flight staff at the hotel, but except in the lobby you don't get much from the other guests. Rooms simply glazed, the heating had to fight with us in January but clearly against the cold through the window. Breakfast good, fresh and adequate. Plugs adaptor Don't forget all English cans!

Good location, but so is the Holiday Inn next door which looks more modern. Tara is ok. Rooms are very tired looking but its a busy hotel. Ask for your room not to be on the side where the train lines are, they are quite noisy during the night. Also the rooms are very warm and the windows are locked shut (for our safety it says, not sure about that if there was a fire). Walls are very thin and you only get a single bed of youre alone. Restaurant food is nice and quite reasonable. They usually have a promotion on which includes a free beer or wine.

We spent two nights in this hotel on an organized trip. I don't think the hotel deserves 4 stars. The reception and breakfast are tops but it stops there. The room was all there was classic, with the bare minimum. No assistance service for tourists is offered (plug adapters etc), a bit of a pity for such a hotel.

Very efficient hotel with large, comfortable and well-cleaned rooms. Staff are very friendly and attentive to the needs of the customer. Good international breakfast (espresso for a fee). I think the location is excellent, ideal for those who want to stay in zone 1, without having the discomfort of big crowds. The nearby "High Street Kensington" Metro stop, crossed by the Circle, makes the location of those who want to travel to London through the dense network of the various tube-stations. The only flaw for a four star, the bathroom in a very "British" style: shower in the bathtub, drain of the water operated by handle (see the photos) … really a shame, we hope for a next renovation!

I stayed at this Hotel from 24 to 31 December 2017, the property is strategically located, ideal for any rapid shift having within walking distance stops by Metro and bus. The hotel is large but extremely dated, the Reception is greeted cordially by the staff who have highlighted right away polite and always available to any request. The room is of sufficient squareness, with decent furnishings but in need of a complete revisiting in consideration of their age; The beds are small but comfortable with double pillow, there is the usual English carpet, the sanitary also dated, are certainly functional but should be at least renewed. The daily cleaning was almost summary, certainly carried out with too much superficiality (in my case a fairly obvious mud deposit has never been aspirated during the whole stay) ; The sore note are the walls very thin, you hear every slightest noise (in my case a group of boys celebrated Christmas in the room until late now and sleep was impossible, then even their amorous effusions have turned out to be quite sound, It almost seemed to have them in the room eh! Eh! ) ; Also the tic of the switches do their sound duty (for those who want to stay in silence I do not recommend it, at least not to receive a room/floor with a few guests and especially not noisy).

Very nice hotel and good location, close to the bus and metro station. Many restaurants around and also many shops. The staff was particularly nice, we could even make our check-in before 12. We had a club room, which offers a great view and a happy hour. The breakfast was good, it had many options.

The hotel room was fine, standard and comfortable. The breakfast area was fairly chaotic in the morning due to the amount of guests. Long waiting times for lifts (elevators). Overall it is fine, we would stay again. It is in a good location, perfect for tourists.

We rented the venue for 200+ ppl for a prom like party. Spacious, nice looking. Within walking distance of tube stations. Only issue was the lack of seats, which I'm sure can be arranged if we asked so not much to complain about really.

Hotel is nice but there are a few issues they should address. Keep an eye on the bar staff. They like to charge a bit extra. The room 342 is 2 star at best, looks as if the last time it had a make over was 20 years ago. You can see where they have touched up the paint work. The furniture is held together with screws and metal brackets and looks very old. It is clean but it does need a make over. Would I stay again? No there are a lot of things they need to address.

Have stayed here many, many times. I like this place owing to its location it's so close to tube and bus stops too. I would like to compliment Alessandro who checked us in (he is worthy of 5 stars) he was the perfect ambassador for your hotel, extremely courteous and genuinely very helpful.
This would be 5 star but I was disappointed with the breakfast service, waiting staff looking very stressed and under pressure, taking plates etc away without asking if we'd finished, two days running we had no milk on table, we had to keep asking for tea & coffee. Like I said we have stayed many times and usually service in dining area is perfect. Waiting staff moaning to guests because people were being shown to tables before they had chance to lay them up hence the pressure on them. Maybe this should be looked into because it's impacting on your guests experience.

Great hotel, affordable, right in the center (Kensington). Furnishings maybe a little smangiati from time, but the rooms are spacious with bathrooms of normal size (which, in London, is not always true)

Some of the rooms were very clean, the room was very comfortable and the rooms were very clean and the breakfast was very Tessorten. The breakfast was very good. Externally it acts like a hospital before the refurbishment… For supposedly 4 stars way too expensive since you might not want to know how then 3 stars look like…

Four stars because it is located in a place near restaurants, Metro, shops, Hyde Park… a But… In a 21st century London you can not have a reception without Q No staff member does not know a word of Spanish.

To make sure my postcards arrive at my destination, I gave them to the reception. Unfortunately, 15 days later, they still haven't arrived!

Great place and service. A friend always hosts events here for charity. Food served was lovely. Although I never stayed in the hotel, so I cannot comment on that aspect of the service.

Nice hotel near the Kensington High Street. It has got easy access to tube and bus stops, also connectivity to Heathrow is good. They serve good breakfast.

We were brought in the back door, waited 15 minutes for the keys and then abandoned to find our rooms. Some of the people needed help with their bags and there was no one to help them. One of the lifts wasn't working but when we got to out rooms, it was comfortable but with a lovely view of a brick wall. I was going to have an evening meal with the hotel but this reception has put me off. The actual room is nice and comfortable.

Stayed for couple night. Not happy. Staff is rude. Done check out. Took me 10min to get a luggage from room. Ask to help to load to my car. Had to wait another 10min. Received after a fine from Parking Eye Ltd. Ask hotel to help to appeal as its was them fault. Answer was "it's nothing to do with us". Not recommending at all. There are so many hotels in Kensington where service much better.

Don't order food in the brasserie if you need to be anywhere! Waited an hour, mentioned it 3 times to staff who chased up the kitchen, 6 minutes before I had to be back where we were getting a presentation, 1 hour 15 minutes after ordering a simple wrap, I had to cancel the order. As I was walking out, guess what arrived! The wrong order, so I didn't get to eat till after the event and back on a train in the evening. The place looks great, I heard good things about the rest but I was just attending a seminar so can't rate it low for anything but poor kitchen management. If it was busy, I might have accepted a 30 wait as acceptable but there were only a handful of patrons.

High level service and courtesy, Central and well serviced by the Metro. Recommended.

Great location w/ easy access to Kensington gardens, Hyde park, museums. Lots of buses and a tube stop nearby. Club lounge had a great breakfast buffet. BEWARE — the Wi-Fi is horrible, runs slow and continually cut out.

A hotel that looks very chic seen Hall…
Once in the rooms…
Furniture are dusty, finishes "disgusting" (there was no other Word! ), there are silicone which overflows everywhere, PVC blades are dirty and in bad condition, not to mention rust and limescale!
The front desk staff is not nice, very unwelcoming with foreigners (in this case we as French).
At the price of the rooms, you can really expect a lot better!

Myself and my boyfriend, always like to stay at the hotel for a night as the price is good and we have a delicious breakfast buffet included. Unfortunate, the most recent time we have been there included bad service, time wise, damaged things in our bedroom, only one cup in our bedroom. We had to wait a long amount of time to check in and check out. The Wi-Fi was terrible. And my boyfriend got food poisoning from the breakfast buffet. Even thought the first time was great, we were greatly upset by the service the second time. This has put us off from visiting again.

Do visitors have rights? Do they have the right to feel secure? Well what if I told you that a person entered one of my classmates' rooms, opened their bag, took their wallet and stole money from it. They stole 600 pounds in cash. How would you react? We went straight to the manager and informed them and what was funny is when we asked them to check their cameras they said we don't have cameras. We spoke to Mr. Lovejit, the duty manager and he said that we should go and talk to the police because the hotel is taking no responsibility for this. We asked him will you act the same if your daughter/son's money got stolen? We waited for the answer, but unfortunately there was no answer. Where are our rights? We need to be secure! My recommendation is that you don't stay at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in London.

The location is great close to the tube station (Kensington high street). The hotel is very nice. Clean & tidy rooms that are well maintained. The one gripe I had was the Wi-Fi is rubbish so beware if u have kids that play games on tablets download them before you go.

Bugis Street Restaurant had fast service with considerate staff, granted there were little guests at the restaurant. Food is Thai/Singaporean style dishes and done in typical Millennium Hotel fashion, solid roasted duck, other meat such as beef was tender, whilst sweet and sour chicken got a bit dry, but sauces tatsed greeeeat.

The staff are excellent and the breakfast selection was spectacular. The public areas are very well presented. The beds and the pillows are *very* comfortable. However, the bathroom door handle was broken (room 229), the duvet cover was put on inside out, and there was water left in the kettle (for how long?! ) Family who were staying in room 228 found that two of the three light controls in the room don't work and the room was difficult to cool to a comfortable temperature. We collectively concluded that the rooms were somewhat tired.

The hotel location is indeed good, from the Kensington Subway Station little out of a maximum of three minutes, that night, take the subway back to the hotel safe. In the high street for many shops, the shopping convenience. We're going to London for tourism, 12, from No. 5 to No. 8. Three nights, the travel agent recommend help, value great. Just started to give the room style and set does not match the hotel to help coordinate, send free w8 bar vouchers.

Excellent location and very good service.

The hotel was a quick easy way around the corner from High Street Kensington station which was convenient. The entrance was lovely and very grand, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was really nice, good tea and coffee facilities and even a fridge under the TV which was cool. The bathroom was good and it had a great shower; we didn't try the bath. The bed was comfy and the quilt super soft and fluffy! It was also great to have blackout curtains and a simple air con/heating system with adjustable fan strength and temperature. We were really comfortable in the room, no issues. The breakfast was really nice and there was a great selection of cooked and continental options available. The toasting machine was a bit too hot and my toast was fairly chargrilled but I'm sure I could have had another piece done if I had asked. We didn't have any other meals in the hotel. We also were able to store our luggage at the hotel after checking our while we spent the day in London, and we collected it again around 5pm. I would be very happy to stay there again, however I can't comment on the price or value for money as the visit was a gift.

I've been to the copthorn Tara a number of times and it's always been a pleasant stay. The rooms are always clean and tidy and the food is great. Happy hour in the bar and new cocktail bar between 4 and 8 and theres parking as well so not much more you can ask for.

Stayed there for a couple of days during my stay in London with my family. I truly loved my stay there. Its located in a fantastic place in London, got great staffs, a nice souvenir shop, buffet breakfast and obviously beautiful rooms. I still remember my room no: 833. Hoping for a second stay.

4 stars, maybe a bit dated but well kept. Comfortable, clean rooms. Within two restaurants and two bars. Great location, just metres from the High Street Kensington Station and bus stops. Within walking distance you can find also a public bike rental point.

Stayed here while on vacation in London. Rooms were clean, staff was helpful, and I liked the shoe shine machines near the elevators. The location truly is incredible. I cannot imagine having stayed in a better place while visiting London for the first time. There are so many great pubs and shops to visit on High Street. The Muffin Man, nearby, is a wonderful tea shop that shouldn't go unnoticed.

I read the reviews and really expected something horrible, but in reality the hotel is well located, clean… Despite some hairs on the toilet and bath. Air conditioning could use some refreshing and hotel bar is expensive as hell (100 pounds for 4 gin tonics two dry whiskies and 4 jäger bombs…), other than that, I was satisfied with my stay.

Hotel is a bit in the years to come, both inside and outside but clean and well maintained. The staff is very friendly, and the location of the hotel is quite centrally and conveniently located. No 500m walk and you're standing in the subway. TV, safe, kettle, Hairdryer and iron with a Board in the Superior plus class. Breakfast could for German standards a bit more diverse. Only Toast with Ham and cheese as well as various Marmeladenpöttchen are next to cereals, and the traditional English beans, scrambled eggs, Fried eggs and co. Is ready to eat. Cocoa is for kids free otherwise only available at extra cost. The Superior Plus class is located in the 9. Floor almost at the very top what a beautiful view there.

This hotel is not worth a stay. Crappy rooms (I got an allergic reaction from the carpet or something in the room! ) crappy Wi-Fi and not very friendly staff.

I stayed in the Copthorne Tara from Friday 29th August until Sunday 30th August 2015 and booked a Club Room. The experience was dreadful! I had stayed in the Tara many times before, regularly during the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, last stay was around 5 years ago so I thought I knew what to expect as the standard had always been high and the experience really good. We arrived on Friday afternoon and it took almost 30 minutes queueing to just get to the check in desk. There was no one manning the club check in desk although for most of the time we were in the queue there were two manager type guys wandering around the reception area. The room was shabby but with a great view. However, ten minutes into the stay we discovered that the room next door was being refurbished or painted and both the noise and smells were disturbing! The shower in the bathroom had one temperature, scalding hot, with no apparent way to encourage it to be a little less hot! We had planned dinner in London so arrived back late to find that the bar had a number of very drunk patrons so we moved off in search of a reported cocktail bar. This turned out to be stocked with off duty staff apparently having a great time with little or no money changing hands at the bar. It took 20 minutes and a call for a manager just to achieve a drink! Saturday morning while looking forward to a lie in we were awoken by workmen banging around in the room next door around 8-15am. The shower was still scalding hot!

My wife and I stayed at the Capthorne hotel Monday 3rd August to Friday 7the August we came with Robinsons coaches from Blackburn, we found the staff were very helpful, the breakfast was very good you were spoilt for choice, the rooms were very comfortouble clean towels. Only one word can explain the the hotels overall standard EXCALLENT. Mr & Mrs White from Morecambe.

Small rooms compared to US standards. The maid service was very good. The breakfast buffet was very nice with a decent amount of choices. The door man "Marco" was very helpful and the beat part of the hotel with tour suggestions, getting taxis and offering ideas.

Amazing hotel, convenient location, near shops, metro, cafes. Rooms are very small, the furniture is old, the Windows do not open, and in the entire hotel and is the smell of musty air conditioners. Bathroom with old bathrooms, on the walls instead of tiles cheap plastic panels. I stayed here for a week as part of a group booking was paid in full in advance. On the first day I gave a Bank card to make a Deposit safe (50 lbs). On the second day with my card was charged 835 pounds. The reason for the write-off such a large sum error. The Manager of the hotel promised that the money will be paid back within a day. Money is not returned, the staff refers to what has happened, for granted, even an apology followed. Several people from our group had similar problems with the write-off of money from Bank cards, however, for less pay. I left the hotel, it's been two weeks, but the money is not returned. I advise you to pay only in cash, or select another hotel.
