Cosy little pub with real open fire. Old school interior makes it feel even cosier. Beer selection is ok but a bit old school. Gets very busy on Thursday/Friday evenings as a lot of local school teachers and young families all get in there from about 4.30!

This pub thoroughly deserves a five star review. It's a traditional pub, with a really beautiful interior. It has a strong selection of drinks, and a great pub food menu. The service is spot on, simple friendly and welcoming, both the pub and it's team are dog friendly. I had the pie for my lunch, but would also recommend the Sunday roast as well. The food is simple tasty and more than affordable, unlike some other venues in the surrounding area! A must visit for a relaxed lunch, a date night, or groups.

I understand it's a very busy pub. But come on the food was cold when it arrived 35-40 minutes after ordering. The lamb was like eating shoe leather and the pork was pretty much the same never again would I eat here.

I've given the Rose & Crown 5 stars because I feel that they deserve a higher rating than 4.2. We had a great meal and pint here sat outside in the sunshine. My mushroom burger was almost too big to handle, making it v good value. A special shout out for the chips which were fantastic! Like typical London pubs, my pint of Brew Dog beer was v expensive, but I'm sure they have cheaper options.

They do a fairly good Sunday roast here. A bit dingy on the inside but friendly staff and great location right next to clissold park make this an easy choice.

Lovely pub with original wooden interior. Has resisted the urge to paint everything grey inside and outside. Lovely Sunday roast, extra quick service. Great selection of beers and wines. Very friendly local crowd. No TVs showing sport of you just want to go for dinner food or drink. Highly recommended.

This isn’t the best roast dinner in the world. But it’s pretty damn good. Excellent value and totally consistent from lunchtime all the way through to late evening. It rarely takes more than 10 mins to come and there are loads of choices — chicken, beef, pork, lamb and vege.

Great local pub, Sunday roast is great but make sure you get there early as they tend to run out of the more popular dishes towards the evening. Nice selection of wines.

Very beautiful English pub, lovely customer service. The guys are really friendly. We eat there on Sunday and the food was great. There was a lot of choice, including vegetarian. We’ll be there again so soon. Thanks to the staff.

I'm reviewing the pub, not the hotel. The Sunday roast we had was great, and lots of choice (including several high quality veggie and vegan options). Also I like the pub itself — high Windows, nice decor. The bar staff were also friendly and helpful. Only complaint concerns a member of (I guess more senior staff) who greets and directs people when they enter. He comes across pretty stressy and seems to have set up some weird table reservation system to tier people entering that seemed excessive for a pub atmosphere.

An institution in the Stokey area with an incredible vibe. Ales not always great, it probably needs slightly more experienced staff but I cannot give less than 5 stars regardless.

I liked it here in the pub, it was large enough to accommodate us. My sister stayed in here whilst over from ireland and the rooms were great. Bright. Very clean and breakfast room was nice. Lovely atmosphere and well used pub. Mixture of ages here, which was nice.

Am lothe to shout about this place as love how it is so unspoilt… roaring fires, good food, great selection of drinks, lovely b and b rooms. Just perfick but don't go there cos I don't want it spoilt. Ps new years eve is great there!

Great pub — traditional homely boozer with friendly staff and blazing fire in the winter. Also lots of fun on Christmas day after a brisk walk around Clissold Park. Sunday roast is delicious and left over tatties and gravy are placed on the bar after service for customers to help themselves to! The falafel burger in brioche bun with chips is to die for.

We just had one quick drink here while we waited to go to the Town Hall across the road for a wedding. It seemed a nice place and the staff were friendly.

A brilliant place to stay. The staff, especially the guest house manager, couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. Very comfortable clean room, with a great breakfast provided the next day, with lots to choose from. I can recommend this and would definately stay there again.

We stayed at the Rose and Crown for 2 nights in the Suite Room for our wedding. We had a lovely experience and Jola was an amazing host. All our needs were catered for. The breakfast in the morning was great, lots of options and it was delicious. Only down side is the noise from the pub below, the Suite is on the first floor so Friday and Saturday night were very loud. If you are a light sleeper I highly recommend wearing ear plugs. Overall all we had a lovely time staying at the Rose and Crown. Everyone was impressed with the room. Thank you for everything!

Wow! So I stayed here as part of a wedding and the rooms were amazing and so was the owner. Only down side was the noise from the pub after 11pm on a Friday night was loud, we were on the first floor so this was to be expected just didn't realise how loud it would be. I would recommend ear plugs if your on the first floor. The breakfast was lovely! Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you for such a lovely stay!
