Where else in central London could you hear nightingales singing as the breeze gently blows your room's curtains to and fro?

I really enjoyed my stay. This place is a world apart. The building is from a by gone era of respect and dependability and gentility. Quiet pervades… as does peace and order and trust. The rooms and general outlay is practical without diminishing the feeling of being a guest in some discreet person's house. Breakfast is lovely. Plenty of choice and all done well. I particularly liked the reading room where you can't use your phone or computer.

Highly recommended. Excellent value for money in the heart of Bloomsbury, excellent staff, comfortable. You won't regret staying at the Penn Club.

Absolute hidden gem, very clean, rooms generous by London standards. Good showers. Very quiet and peaceful, you wouldn't know you were in central London. Facilities provided in the dining room for bringing your own food, microwave etc. Lovely large sitting rooms. No bar but you can bring your own drinks. Charming staff. Altogether excellent value if you are on a budget and want a civilised base.

Best place to stay in the city of London. Centrally located and close to the Tube (Russell Square), British Museum, Euston Station and more.

Old fashioned, dated and worn, but clean, good breakfast and very friendly staff!

This is a Quaker Club popular with people of Christian faith. A good library and lounge with TV. Facilities are not really hotel standard but we appreciated its central location, helpful staff and lovely breakfast.

Only 10 min away from Covent Garden and very close to British Museum in a nice street with real british flair.

Great place, inexpensive for London. Lovely library, television room. The breakfast is great with quite a few options. Nice quiet neighborhood. By please highly recommended. No elevator. Primarily staffed by students — mostly warm and friendly. Strong Quaker/Friends connection.

Clean, friendly, quaint, and ideal location.

My home in London with quiet lovely rooms and great staff. Everyone here is so kind and thoughtful, the guests included. No noisy neighbors nor TVs here. Breakfast is tasty and can be healthful too. They accommodate diets and have soya milk or gluten free toast.

Nice cozy little hotel. My mother stayed here when she was a young adult when she first visited London, so on my first visit I stayed as well. English breakfast is served in the morning. The room was clean and comfortable. My room didn't have a toilet or shower so I used the floor bathroom which was perfectly fine. My only complaint was the lack of a lift. I'm in Europe for a month so my suitcase is quite heavy. Carrying it up 4 flights of stairs was a serious pain. But I imagine installing an lift into an old building would be very expensive. Either way, I would recommend the Penn Club.

If there was an elevator it would be perfect. The renovated rooms are very airy. The location is amazing: 5 min. Walk to Russel Square (metro) 50 min. From Heatrow blue line Piccadilly direction Cosckfosters.

Mixed. The lower room are bigger and more airy. The top floor rooms are small. This is a basic place. No kleenex, no little bottles of shampoo, etc. The breakfast is good. Big variation in friendliness, helpfulness of reception staff.

Reliable, friendly and well situated — hospitality in Londen I've enjoyed for more than 20 years now. Ensuite recommended. And: Where else do you still get grilled kipper for breakfast? Love it.

I love the Penn Club — I have been a member for nearly 10 years and it hasn't changed much at all and is a wonderful haven of peace and serenity. Fantastic breakfast, very comfortable beds and interesting guests.
