Review of Quality Hotel Hampstead 3*

A friend and I booked through a fabulous company booking website. When we received booking confirmation it said for one person. We tried to amend booking (price was the same for one, two or three single beds. ) but the two and three beds were sold out. We called the hotel immediately and told them. We spoke to someone who told us not to worry she would make a note it was for two instead of one. Upon arrival in London we called to confirm their was room for two adults. This was confirmed but we were told their was a £15.00 charge for the extra person. We explained and were told they would sort it out once we arrived. Now 11:00 pm we couldn't cancel booking when we were laughed at by the concierges who said I charge you weather or not you stay here. We decided to go to bed and sort in the morning. Next morning we arrived downstairs lady at the desk said not to worry their has been a misunderstanding and she would have the manger call to sort the issue during the day and the manager would call us. We left contact details and no call came despite waiting all day. We arrived back last night and were told that they wouldn't charge us the extra monies because of the continuing issues and misunderstandings. Went we went downstairs to checkout at 9:00 am we were charged the extra fee. We never spoke to a manager despite asking on several occasions. We are held over a barrel both nights had we left they would have charged us, we stayed they charged us. The breakfast was terrible, the eggs were grey in colour, hash browns like cardboard, all of the "hot" options were cold and overcooked. No hand towels in bathrooms. TV signal bad. And the way our situation was handled was appalling! We never spoke to the manager because he was always out of the hotel and "unreachable/ unavailable to deal was staff or paying guests. " I've never had such a bad experience and left somewhere so angry with no resolve. We highly recommend choosing a different hotel to avoid over payment for a poor quality hotel.
