It does not have kerb appeal, but ticked all the boxes.
I would definitely recommend it.

Staff really make the place, especially at Reception when you first walk in. Some of the most efficient, friendly, helpful people I have ever met (both night & day shifts). The Hypnos bed was so comfortable, had the best rest… and of course, with FREE access to the gym, spa, sauna, steam room, swimming pool… what more could one ask for?! … There's free coffee, tea, hot choc, biscuits, spring water in your room. At some 4-star hotels, they don't even provide kettles or complimentary drinks. As for food and drink, the bar next door had such kind and caring staff. And the adjoining Italian restaurant has authentic food, coffee, desserts, etc. Much better & cheaper than ordering room service! Thank you for making our stay stress-free and more enjoyable! Very nice experience. Rooms didn't have air conditioning so not recommended during a heatwave. Didn't get an opportunity to use the spa but a definite plus for me. Only fault was in the morning of check out the cleaner didn't knock but just unlocked the door and came straight in to naked guest. I spoke to the receptionist who said they would speak to her. Outside the front door of the hotel is the unofficial smoking area. This does present the hotel in a good light or good for the image. I feel something more suitable should be set up maybe towards the back of the hotel.

Rooms were worse than the premier Inn next door (dirty, hairs in bed etc. ) and the stated flexible check out time is not really flexible. Not recommended.

A little noisy, our room window opened onto the street. Room was nice, fan was a welcome addition. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Pizza from attached restaurant was out of this world, would highly recommend.

Even though few things are lacking, somehow I liked to stay in this hotel compared to other hotels. In Croydon area. Friendly staff and receptionist. They should install Ac in all the rooms, the fan which they provided is not at all effective especially in summer. They can improve the common facilities for the price which they have qoated.

The room could be nicer but it is a 3* hotel in England so nothing to complain about. Rooms are very clean which is the most important. Ironing room on the same floor and two minutes from East Croydon station. Perfect for business. The best of all is the fully equipped three floor gym next door.

I was staying at the Lansdowne for 6 days on business as the hotel was very close to the office where I was working. On arrival, the lady at the desk was very friendly but as I had arrived early, I was not able to check in for a couple of hours but she did suggest that I could leave my cases in a locked room and return after lunch. This was fine and understandable. I took this time to get some lunch and look around the local area which is immediately next to a shopping centre so this was convenient. On return I sat in reception which it where I first had my suspicions that this trip would not be all comfortable as the sofas in reception were really only suitable for the tip. The were tired and worn and were being jumped on like a tampoline by some small children who were not being controlled by their parent. However, I didnt really let this bother me and just wanted to get to my room and check in. I booked a "Superior Double Room" so expected a lot more than a double bed squeezed between two walls and a TV that was placed on the wall at the other side of the room which was very small. It was actually very basic but was clean Unfortunately though, it was so noisy on a Saturday evening until about 3am so did not get much sleep that night. The following evening I was noticing groups of individuals congregating outside the front of the building drinking and being very rowdy.

Simply the best … had great experience.

They have an area you can book for parties. Its not bad. Toilet is dirty though.

Average hotel experience. It was very noisy and far too hot in the room, which made it hard to sleep. Very convenient location for direct train into London. Cheaper and easier than staying somewhere in central. You get what you pay for.

I've given this place a good review mostly because of the free gym access for guests. The gym is huge and has loads of equipment. There's a beauty salon there too. There's no breakfast in the hotel, you have to buy a voucher and go across the road to the jury's inn — not cheap! The restaurant/bar is a separate establishment and it's not open late. You would struggle to find anywhere open serving food, ended up ordering take away. The rooms are kinda small but have what you need.

Bed was comfortable but room was old and out dated. The key was huge and annoying to carry around with you.

Well it's not bad but it's also really good because if you go with your children or maybe just yourself or something there is a leisure centre right next to it.

Decent room and health facilities, convenient walking distance to east Croydon train and trams/buses and town centre.

My room was really clean and staff were really friend moreover the experience was superb.

Hotel with very old-fashioned facilities. Friendly staff. I paid €75 booking the same day. Very expensive for what it offers, although surely booking with time is cheaper. Very close to a shopping center and train station that takes you to central London in 15 min for about 6 or 7 pounds.

Wonderful, clean, friendly hotel in heart of vibrant and exciting East Croydon, only 15 mins to London Centre but with plenty to do right on the doorstep.

We spend two nignts in this hotel and we want to thank all the staff for his welcome. The pool, sauna, hamman, jacuzzi are very pleasant, the room, clear and clean. To do absolutely, We'll be back soon.

I would never go back again and never would recommend to anyone. Pay slightly more and get a decent hotel. I learned my lesson the hard way. Premier Inn is just at 2 min walk. To start off with, there is no AC so you have to open the window which is just above the main Street so be prepared to have a sleepless night because of the noise by those druggies and rough people right next door. Every day I sat on the toilet seat and noticed a 2 feet long hair on the bathroom floor exactly in the centre, which wasn't mine and I am a male with shirt hair. If they were properly cleaning then it would have been removed. The place has no restaurant so if you have booked breakfast they would shamelessly give you a voucher and a £10 note and ask you to go across the street to Jury's Inn and buy a breakfast. The elevator in the building is the smallest I have ever seen. Probably smaller than a telephone booth. The rooms are extremely basic with bedroom as much wide as just your double bed and just long enough to fit a chair between the bed and the door. And the bathroom is as much big as the bedroom. What a genius building planning. And with low prices, expect all sorts of dodgy people who would make loud noises in the corridor at 2am and bang on your door. I asked for ironing and they said they have ironing centre on 3rd floor. You can see the pics I have attached for this very ironing centre.

Our twin room was extremely small, but the concierge was nice enough to switch our rooms. It was much better. We couldn't even open our luggage in our original room.

Average hotel. Not so much a quiet hotel. Singing (!? ) on Sundays inside the hotel's conference area which is used as a church probably. Rooms have no airco. Well situated with plenty of possibilities to eat and drink around the hotel. Supermarket nearby. Trainstation nearby (Croydon) with good connection to Gatwick and Victoria Station. Most staff is very friendly and cooperative.

Have stayed a few times now for both business and leisure. Good value for money and excellent gym, but beware they use old fashioned physical keys, not key cards, which means that IF YOU LOSE YOUR ROOM KEY THERE IS A £50 CHARGE (I only found out later that this is because they have to change the lock for the next guest for security)! Best therefore to check key in and out with Reception, rather than take outside the hotel (especially as key is labeled with room number and hotel name).

Cheap and cheerful. Limited hours on sauna.

The room was very nice and I had a great time there. Also a walking distance from the witgift shopping centre. My only problem was that it got a bit too warm and that there is no ac, I had to use a little desk fan. I could not open the window as you can hear noises of public transport and cars, even when it was closed. But overall it was a nice hotel.

Good value for the money. Neat and tidy room and all basics included. Just it was a compact space and lift is only good for 2 persons.

Banging little hotel close to the train station and tram line very easy to get about london from here very clean rooms beds are very nice had a brilliant 3 nights here oh and the spa/swimming pool is great. The staff were really friendly and helpful will defo stay again.

Very small rooms, but it's OK for the price. You need 15-20 minutes to get to the center of London.

Night staff on Reception was informative, efficient, and could not do enough. Room was clean and facilities were excellent. Will stay here again and recommend to family and friends.

Loved my stay at the Lansdowne Hotel.

Small, basic rooms but very clean, with good wi fi and helpful staff. Close to rail station. Parking is in nearby NCP. There is an indoor swimming pool and gym, bar and some catering facilities in an adjacent coffee shop.

For £54 my boyfriend and I had an amazing time. The receptionist were very funny and made us feel right at home, the room was exceptionally clean and a great size, the bathroom is of good size and very clean with all the towels smelling fresh and clean. Only thing that let it down a bit was the bed; it wasn't a double mattress but instead two singles put together which made it a bit uncomfortable but apart from that it was perfect.

For £110 pounds I got. brown stains on the showerwall scum on the sink and toothpaste on the tap a thick layer of dust on the TV and kettle hairs in the bed when I rolled back the duvet plughole blocked, so when risking a shower, the water climbs your legs. The shower was broken so when I touched it, it fell apart and I had to rebuilt it to have a shower. A group of rough youths congregating outside the door, making it very uncomfortable getting to the hotel. I complained, the manager called me two days later to say "thanks for letting us know" and stating that he'd taken it up with his household staff. He informed me that "refunds, even part refunds, are not part of their policy", but as a GESTURE OF GOOD WILL he could offer me a small discount on my next stay. Thank goodness for small claims court.
