A return visit but once again a pleasure! Service great, food really tasty, healthy options and great choice for the children. Brilliant pub to eat or simply just relax with a drink, Dan and Tracey are amazing I have no idea how they manage to do it, its a very hard place to beat in every way. John and Family.

Not very good for Sunday lunch. Food looked as though it had been thrown on the plate and the beef was tough.

Good pub grub. With a nice and cosy atmosphere and relatively fast service.

Good neighbourhood family pub. Perfect for summers evening with the play park for the kids and large outside area. Ok menu and reasonable beer selection. Recommended for families.

Never been disappointed. Always great food and the staff are always friendly and happy. Lovely beer garden which is perfect for the kids. Lucky to have you on our doorstep.

The Tawny Owl is popular for its food, which has been hit and miss of late. The quality of food is very good when they have what you want. The management staff are very friendly as are some of the bar/serving staff. Others a little unattentive. The facilities are pretty good, with disabled access, beer garden and kids park. The accommodation is nice too.

A lot of pubs could learn valuable lessons from The Tawny. The staff welcome you they want to serve you they are polite. The food was great too, I also like the fact the chef brought the food out. A very pleasant experience fully recommend.

Never really enjoyed coming here before but now, I would the foods amazing the atmosphere in the evening is relaxed and chilled and no need to shout to talk and the drinks are reasonably priced. Well done to the owners for changing it round.

Friday evening. Played Rock n Roll bingo. Good atmosphere. Everyone seemed friendly (including the door man). No trouble.

Parking is in abundance, the venue itself looks rustic and homely, we both ordered the Sunday Roast, loads of Turkey on hers, loads of Gammon on mine, generous serving of everything else and an option to go large. Polite and fast service with delicious food, highly recommend.

My wife and I booked for an anniversary dinner and wow did we get the most pleasant warm and friendly service. Dan and Tracey are fantastic hosts and I can’t imagine having a better experience, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was great and nothing was to much trouble. The pub was very busy and I can understand why… everything was top quality and probably the best pub food we had eaten (and we eat out a lot), I am fussy but could not fault anything, this pub will certainly become our regular place to eat, drink and socialise, the staff are awesome the whole experience was absolutely BRILLIANT! Thank you Dan, Tracey and your lovely staff for a great night, we recommend this place without hesitation to anyone and everyone, in one simple phrase it was the absolute best! Many many thanks to all concerned, particularly the hosts Dan and Tracey who are without doubt a top class couple and a credit to the Arkles business. Cheers guys from the Morgan family.

My experience with the pub service and food was not very good… We booked a table for 14 people (which was confirmed via email) but on the day they only set the table for 12 people (we had to squeeze in 2 more chairs so it was a bit tight). They allocated a whole room for us which was was good (children could run around without disturbing other guests). Unfortunately the room was a bit cold — this was not not a massive show stopper (we were dressed for winter anyway) but it's another issue on the list. Then when we finally got the food, they had only cooked half of the orders! So half of the people had to wait for their meals to be cooked whilst they hungrily watched the other half eat their lunch. The staff apologized for it saying it was a system error and also didn't charge for the late food… But still one more issue to the list. About the food itself, my burger was a bit dry and I heard from others their meat was also dry. Maybe we had an unlucky day at the pub but I can only comment from my own experience. I am not sure we will be booking our meals there again.

Great service but quite slow. Good meal. Dessert was a very dodgy roulette. All in all good and clean with nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it.

Nice enough atmosphere and staff. The function room was a little small for the amount of us who were there but that can't be helped! I liked the little private bar the function room had.

Went for a Christmas meal last night with 16 friends. The food was lovely and very filling. The staff were very helpful. I will definitely be going back.

A very disappointing experience. Poor service at the bar, long wait times for a table and food with inexperienced staff. Would not go to again.

Haven't visited for a couple of years but was pleasantly surprised. Attentive and friendly table service in a well furbished restaurant area. The food is a bit more expensive than similar places though.

Lovely pub with a very nice atmosphere and staff. Doggies allowed in certain areas which is great as there is a lovely walk around a lake by the pub. Nice little park for kids to play in and a large outdoor seating area. Food was standard good pub grub.

Initially service was good and were approached quickly by staff when we arrived at the table The menu was fairly chaotic but offered a variety of choice The starter I decided to go for a trio of bread with hummus and olives. What was most disappointing about this dish was no butter served with it and no oils which would be expected with this dish. The olives were the most excitement in this dish a very poor start The main course was a 10 oz ribeye steak which was cooked to a reasonable standard. The steak itself lacked seasoning and was very bland. The chips were of reasonable quality and the garnish had clearly been pre made a couple of days ago and left in the fridge for service. Reasonable in price however disappointing. Desert. We were eventually given a desert menu and then left for over 40 minutes until a member of staff came back. The staff member bluntly asked what we wanted and then returned five minutes later saying that the kitchen was closed. I find it quite amusing that I had made my choice within minutes of the menu arriving and once they got round to serving I was made to feel as if I were too slow to make a decision. I was looking forward to the chocolate mouse but it appears the kitchen had closed and was unable to be accessed until the following day Overall a very disappointing service. Prices are reasonable however a touch of customer service wouldn’t go a miss. What a shame.

9/9/17 50th birthday party Couldn't wish for a better venue to hold party with family and friends, the staff were so friendly and attentive. The spread of food laid on for us was top notch, shall be coming back here for future parties for sure. Many thanks again to everyone.

Lovely warm atmosphere and the staff have been well trained by the management team of Dan and Tracey. Rock 'm roll bingo is a must but you need to be quick as it's very popular. Every lady Friday in the month.

Very large newly refurbished establishment. Great food menu and facilities. Good mix in the ages of customers and the place has a positive young feel to it.

To be honest I only popped in to meet a friend and wasn't in there long but from what I could see is it was very clean and welcoming staff where friendly and the garden looked very enticing and nice to sit in on a summers evening overall a nice place to visit I would return.

I was not an overnight guest but did pop by for breakfast. The quality of the Full English breakfast was second to none with top notch sausages and bacon. Super speedy with drinks and a lovey friendly service all round, will not hesitate to return again soon!

Very clean room and relaxing stay with lovely staff. Family style atmosphere. Food is excellent and good value.

Great place to eat and good service. Unfortunately out of the seven people in my group my food didn't show up with there's. I asked for a no cheese burger and apparently chef had put cheese on. So they made it again. Turned up 10 minutes later and can only be described as over well done. Everyone elses food was great so I'm hoping the one star lost is justified.

Have been here a couple of times and it's been alright. Went on a Sunday evening, bank holiday in May. There were tables made up for food and menus on some of them, I should add this was about 7pm. Went to order food at the bar and we were then informed that food was no longer being served, and finished at 5.30pm that afternoon. There was no mention of this on the sebsite, and nobody had told us before we went to order, which would have been helpful. Otherwise though, a nice pub.

Turned up for late lunch on a Sunday without booking and despite being busy the staff were happy to try and find us a table for 2. The food we had was good (chicken burger and New York burger), only minor let down was the very loud speaker for the sports TV which was on above our table despite the football not being on in that part of the pub at that time. A minor issue though when clearly a popular sports pub as well as restaurant & bar.

Very nice bar and restaurant and have also been happy with the food and service. Nicely decorated inside as well with good atmosphere.

There are nine great rooms on 2 floors. The first is a cozy bar + karaoke.

Service was good and food was nice. A few more vegetables with the meals would've been appreciated though.

Visited the pub on May 1st, so the bank holiday, although the place wasn't that busy. Placed a drinks order, the barmaid got it wrong, but it happens so not the end of the world. We had a look at the menu and decided on a couple of starters and a sandwich, nothing complicated. After an hour we enquired how much longer we would have to wait and were assured that our order would be chased up. We were the approached by a member of staff and informed that our order had somehow been lost and would we place our order again. Having already waited an hour and there being no guarantee that we would receive our order any faster we chose to have a refund and go elsewhere. Other patrons had also had to chase their orders whilst we were there. Not in a rush to return.

Used to be a great menu with plenty of options for different dietary preferences. Now extremely limited for vegetarians and nothing for vegans. This used to be a nice option if you wanted a more upgraded pub meal but their menu is now worse than Wetherspoons and Hungry Horse. Disappointing.

On arriving in the car park I saw the disabled spaces were full. I had a wheelchair user with me so wider spaces to allow for wheelchair transfers are required. An able bodied man was getting out of his BMW and I asked if he had a disabled parking permit. He curtly advised he was the manager and no other spaces were available. This was not true as there were at least 6 other spaces and I have photo evidence. If this is the attitude of the manager it is clear that disabled people are not welcome at The Tawny Owl.

Great pub and restaurant. Large car park with outdoor seating and children's play area. Very friendly staff. Great menu. Recommended.

Stayed here Sunday night as we had a funeral on Monday, what a lovely place, lovely rooms with en-suite bathrooms, pleasantly decorated with everything you should need for your stay. Had a delicious full English Breakfast in the morning, staff were so pleasant, could not do enough for you. Thank you all so much, would love to stay here again.
