So upset with the wedding venue The Pear Tree Swindon, they will not offer an alternative date next year for my daughters wedding in Sept without forgoing our deposit of 4K. I tried to explain we have vulnerable grandparents and to be safe prefer to postpone, but they are not interested.

Outstanding venue… so beautiful

I highly recommend The Pear Tree. We spent a lovely weekend at The Pear Tree the week of Christmas several years ago. The staff was accommodating and gracious. The food was excellent. I must recommend the local honey for your morning croissant.

This place can't be beaten. Everything is perfect. If you leave anything behind and phone in its is posted back to you. The food is amazing. The breakfast delicious and their garden yields crops for their kitchen The atmosphere of the place is delightful the grounds stunning. Bottles of water a good range of tea coffee etc in the rooms. A welcoming plate of fruit and another of cookies left for you in the room. Stunning building a perfect experience.

A lovely place food was nice but we were all very cold they lit a fire but it kept going out but I think at the end of November they should make sure the place is warm for their guests. Oh and the entrance for the disabled guest please make sure that bush is cut back very dangerous as it hit my friend in the face.

I loved the afternoon tea. Sandwiches were good. The scones were small but do you know what, you don't need them any bigger because you are so full if you are eating everything. Everything was freshly made and the tea kept coming. A real wow for me was the chocolate eclair made with dark chocolate (although my friend didn't like dark chocolate). I loved the silence of the room we were in because that's priceless. There's so much noise everywhere else you go. It's peaceful at the Pear Tree and the view of the garden is lovely.

To be honest I was very disappointed with the afternoon tea. They need to see what other people do for the same price like The Angel in Abergavenny or even M&S. The sandwiches were boring and not delicate enough and the bread was heavy, the cakes were boring especially the marmalade cake which was stodgy. The gluten free cakes seemed to be bought food which is unnecesssy. They could make gluten free brownies or flour less cakes and freeze them. The staff were attentive. I am sorry but I couldn't recommend this to my friends. Come on Pear Tree — up your game. I could do better than this in my own home!

Absolutely wonderful! We have just had our wedding here there was nothing more they could do to make our day any better. Lovely staff, excellent food, wonderful setting!

The afternoon tea was a gift at Christmas, not realising that the voucher expired. I email the staff and they were kind enough to let us still use it. The atmosphere was non existent. We was in a room just of the reception it was just us, no music. Yet it was a beautiful day I was expecting to be in the warm sun. The one sandwich was lovely. The cake was good. The scones were small.

We visited for a colleagues leaving do, there were 8 of us so we were given the privacy of the library. Location was great and the staff were very attentive however, there was a definite lack of sandwiches, the size of the scones was laughable but the cake stand was packed with a delicious selection of cakes. We asked for more sandwiches, which we charged the equivalent of 2 more guests for! 3 finger sandwiches would be acceptable for a child's party, but not for adults. Everything else was perfect so it was a real shame.

Visited for a business event. Food was excellent and staff were friendly and courteous. Would recommend for either business stay or for leisure.

Thank you so so much Alix and team for faultlessly arranging our perfect wedding day. From start to finish you made everything easy for us, even accommodating our last minute changes. The rooms, food and grounds were amazing and all our guests commented on how beautiful the setting was. We would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone. Pete & Sarah

Very nice and welcoming place to have a wedding. The staff were faultless and very accommodating. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I did not use or see the hotel rooms.

Stylish. Lovely deserts. Main course wasn't quite as good as last time but still very good. Lovely white wine from their own grapes. Strangely the same price to take away as to drink it in the restaurant

Stayed twice now, very nice place, always well looked after! Food is excellent too!

Great food and lovely quaint old building on the outskirts of Swindon. Was very quiet on a Wednesday night so a good place to escape the crowds but equally maybe lacking in atmosphere during the week.

Was there for a meal as part of a party of 20 or so. We're in an upstairs room for the meal. Food was ok but not special. Veg was underdone and not exactly hot and desert was dry. I don't drink and at no point was I offered an alternative to wine! One very small coffee after the food and no offer of a top up. We didn't stay over so can't comment on the rooms. Average.

Really beautiful rooms, beds, grounds and food. A lovely venue.

My father in law books this place for large family events. He has been going there for years and loves it. They make some of the wine they serve and it is nice. The menu selections are very nice. The staff are professional. It's a good place too have a party or get together.

Lovely hotel with very nice surroundings. Food was exquisite!

Very friendly and welcoming staff, without being over the top. Excellent food.

Very expensive and tired… needs a few pounds spending as it could be a nice venue. Poor value for money

Lovely surroundings. Sunday lunch not as expected. Three courses £25. Starters and puddings excellent but roast pork and beef poor. Potatoes lightly roasted. Vegetables sparse. Very little gravy. Asked waitress before our meal if extra portions served but was refused. No atmosphere or music. No one approached us during or after finishing each course if everything was OK, only to ask us on the way out. Would not go back again. Eaten at better places with only two star rating so would have expected better quality.

Had a great stay and wonderful meal.

Not a place I would ever return to for chirstmas dinner the rest of the year this place is excellent.
