Was super impressed. We had a party of 22, on a busy Saturday night. Every meal was hot, correct. And incredibly well cooked. Our sever was shanice. She was the best server I think I've ever had. Polite, efficient and very good at her job. I will definitely be coming back to dine here again. It was tidy. The price is amazing value for money. All the staff were super friendly. All in all just very good. Definitely recommend.

The most expensive roast dinner I’ve ever had. Had 2 potatoes, 1 slab of meet & hand full of carrots & cabbage. They forgot the Yorkshire too. I could understand if they were busy but it’s was extremely quiet. Very very disappointed. Would not recommend for a Sunday roast!

First time of visiting this restaurant/pub. Everything about it was excellent. Good food, good & friendly staff & first class service. It was a Tuesday evening when I visited so seemed very quiet but that's how I like it. keep up the good work 👏👏

We visited for one night and found that the rooms were worth the money. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The rooms could do with a refurbishment as they are a little old fashioned but asides from that I cannot fault it. The free parking is good and there’s plenty of spaces to ensure space for all their guests. Our dinner was gorgeous! Lovely food and quick service with a brilliant deal of 2 for 1 on all mains! It was affordable and delicious! The breakfast was included in the £50 per night for each room and it was definitely worth the money. The breakfasts were massive and had everything you could ask for in a full english! With quick service and friendly staff who were always ready to help. I would return here again if I was travelling to Dorest again and looking for a cheap hotel to rest my head. I would highly recommend for a cheap night away.

We visited today with our son, for lunch, the staff were wonderful, helpful, there without being over attentive. We had a table in a quieter area with his difficulties and he was treated no different to any other customer. Food was great, pub food done really well, and pudding… my sons eyes lit up at the cream, chocolate pieces, sauce… We got it to share but couldnt deprive him of the excitement leaving the majority to him to enjoy! And it was great value for money! we really want to come back again soon.

We were two hours early for dinner as our walk round Poole was eliminated by a cloud burst.
Helpful, friendly staff kept us supplied with coffee until our friends arrived.

Being a Marstons pub, it has the same similar fit and feel as any other chain. Lots of space here and normally easy to get a seat. Haven't been here for a while, but from our last visit it feels very dated and styled upon an old spit and sawdust style pub. Depressing. It is great looking building just a shame the inside doesn't reflect it.

Very good place to eat out at if you are looking for a quick and easy meal. I went here for a friend's birthday and ordered a steak and chips and the steak was cooked to perfection. There is a few items on the menu I wouldn't choose such as the lasagne or pasta dishes and they seem very bland but meat products are a good choice from the menu. Also it's a 2-4-1 restaurant which is an added bonus.

Loved it. Toilets spotless, staff polite and menu looked fab. Most meals buy 1 get 1 free. Excellent.

We arrived late in the evening and thought we would be too late to eat but nothing was a problem and had a lovely meal. Room good and bed very comfortable. Fantastic choice for breakfast. Would return for another visit and would recommend to others.

Nice place with good food and drink. Rooms a little bit dated but bed was comfy and shower was hot.

Dirty towels in the wardrobe. Shower needs to run for 5 min before it's warm. Had to wait 15 min to get served for dinner. Definitely a 1 night stop.

Great location and free parking available. Quite spacious inside and plenty of space to sit. 2for1 meals and don't forget to use your NHS discount. Good desert and will definitely be visiting again after a long shift at the hospital friendly staff and not too much delay for food to come to the table, overall very pleased with my visits here!

Really disappointed with the service. Me and my family were in on Friday having a drink after visiting the hospital as my dad had just passed away. We went out the wrong door and was spoken to very rudely and my aunt had been spoken to some what rudely by another member of staff. I'm not that bothered and leaving this review as more of a heads up in future that some people that are at the pub closest to the hospital are maybe not familiar with the layout of the pub and to have a little patience.

Service was fantastic. We were doing some paperwork while we were there and didn't feel rushed to order, eat or pay. Food was very tasty and portion sizes were very reasonable, and with food being 2 for 1 we really got good value for money.

Christmas lunch good value and fine service.

Booked a group meal for Christmas, pretty average pub grub and drinks, nothing special. Definitely seemed like microwave jobs for some of it rather than cooked from scratch but can't really complain for the price — filled a hole for the rest of the day. Also we did mention one person's dietary requirements (allergy) when booking which was missed. Not great.

I have been to the Shah four times to eat in the last year and it has become my family's go to place for birthday meals and other special occasions. Cosy atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, great tasting food and menu all for very reasonable prices contribute towards me making the Shah one of the nicest places in Poole to eat. I would highly recommend sirloin and mixed grill, there are also some very tasty options for those who are counting calories.

The waitress amela was very good and pleasant and helpful and a smile to everyone. Food was hot and tasty bar man/manager 2 points needs to look better.

Room was more than enough for my fiance lovely staff who always made sure you where having a good time and always made conversation with you. Breakfast was delicious but maybe more could be added to it. Dinner was wonderful on the night that we went there and great for those who stay because it's 2 for 1 and an extra 20% off. Would definitely stay here again.

Who cannot love a 241 meal deal? This place offers a wide range of burgers, the usual suspects like sausage and mash, lasagne, curry, etc and steaks and all of these have been tried and tested on a regular basis by my family members and passed the taste test. I absolutely adore the red velvet cheesecake. This has to be tried to be believed… smoothered in pouring cream. Yum yum yum.

We stayed in no. 6 Swanage. It was a large, warm room with a huge comfy bed! Large clean ensuite. Had our evening meal there and it was really good food. If you stay overnight you get 20% off food. Evening staff very helpful even lending us a phone charger while we ate. Breakfast was good too with plenty of choice though morning staff not as helpful as the evening staff. Would recommend!

Have to say don't usually do reviews, but just popped in with my young daughter after being to hospital and had a fantastic meal, value for money is an understatement, didn't have to wait, staff attentive, friendly and the steak was amazing! Best meal we've had in Poole in a long time, will be back soon.

Fantastic pub stayed here for 5 nights in the family room, the kids loved it. They do bed and breakfast also if you stay here and eat in the pub they have two for one on food and you also get an extra 20% off for staying with them. The staff are very friendly always asked how we were and if we had a good day out. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again if we ventured down that way again.

We really enjoyed our meal at the Shah of Persia. We have been going there on and off for 15 years or so. It is standard/no frills catering but there is a very impressive selection from the menu which is a welcome compliment to weatherspoons and other chains of a similar standard. The waitress and all staff were very attentive and polite and friendly.

Disappointing food but nice pub environment. Had a random bight to eat here while searching for a meal. The pub is spacious and cozy and the staff was friendly and all. Toilets were clean. However the food was like any other pub food — extremely boring and ordinary — burgers with chips etc… absolutely nothing special. Deserts as well were just regular run of the mill choices. Very disappointed with the food — particularly in expectation of the name of the restaurant. Wouldn't even call it a restaurant. Sorry. Not coming back.

A very nice and comfortable establishment with an array of interior and exterior seating. The bar is well laid out and a wide variety of drinks are available. The food was very good, and the desserts were amazing.

Friendly greeting on arrival. Comfortable and quiet enough room for our one night stopover. Nothing too fancy but it served a purpose. Sadly we were unable to try breakfast as the staff didn't appear to have opened up for business and locked us in at the hotel side at the bottom of the stairs, preventing us going through the bar area to the dining area. We had to exit the building via a fire exit and drop the room key through a letterbox as the place was closed up and appeared unstaffed. No breakfast for us.

Staff were friendly, drinks reasonably priced and the chips were pretty good. Did everything better than average.

Food was absolutely dreadful, it was all really hard like it's been overcooked or standing for ages. Then when we mentioned this to the assistant manager, he tried to make my 71 year old grandmother feel small! the amount of hostility and negativity the staff gave us was awful. This is probably the worst pub I've ever been in, I strongly suggest you skip this pub, unless you like overcooked food and cocky staff members.
