Visited last night for the first time with friends. The food and beer was amazing and would highly recommend to anyone. The hosts were great taking the time to socialise with the customers and it’s dog friendly so my Akita was happy girl lying under the table. Hope to be back soon but this time I won’t eat the day before visiting to take on one of the mega portions 👍

Lovely pub with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere from other customers as well as Georgia.
Food was delicious and a good selection to choose from.

A beautiful secret garden within a beautiful tucked away gem. Staff are so friendly, the gardens are like a little wild piece of magic and the food was tasty. Will most certainly be a trip out for our day off lunch treats 😋

Had a lovely meal here last night and some fun delicious cocktails. The portions are amazing and great value for money. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Highly recommend!

First time we have been here. Fantastic doorstep sandwiches and very peaceful area with no background noise while we ate in the garden. Dog friendly. Landlord is brilliant with good sense of humour. It look like they have a great set of entertainment planned with Drive In movies, pizzas and a Medium coming to the pub. Highly recommend.

We stayed next door in the barns during the Covid-19 Lockdown hours, but the Landlord was absolutely awesome and let us use his garden to let our 3 dogs run around and brought us a full taster of his ales and ciders. This pub is fab and so welcoming. If you want somewhere that accepts humans and Fur babies alike, then this is the place to come! We'll be back! Jane, Sean, Charlotte, Bailey, Teddy and Oscar. Today we had a wonderful first post lockdown lunch. Great food, great staff, a lovely pub & great adherence to social distancing protocols. We will be back… soon!

Fantastic takeaway delivered to the door during isolation. Really friendly helpful couple, going the extra mile to help those isolating. Thank you it was lovely to have a night off!

Everything at the shaves cross inn is special good food great accommodations Louise and Joe are amazing hosts what more could you ask for and beautiful scenery.

Had a fantastic meal here during a family holiday. It was a beautiful day so we also enjoyed the garden, kids went on the trampoline and the dad's enjoyed the hammocks!

Accomodations are excellent, I would recommend eating somewhere else though. Very friendly staff, some speak more than just English so it's a good place to stay as a tourist.

Great pub; food is top quality and so tasty, rooms are a high standard and really cool in the heat and its location is perfect for a bit of peace but still near the beaches and great walking on the doorstep. Happy to recommend this for a meal / a stay or even a beer and a chat with the friendly staff.

We went for lunch today and had tapas. Very tasty. Lovely staff and pleasant tranquil setting.

Came for dinner Saturday night for a rare night out with my (farmer) husband we live within stumbling distance and haven’t been to the pub in a long time. What lovely service we received they couldn’t do enough for us and the food was absolutely lovely what a nice friendly atmosphere thank you-we will be back soon!

We stayed for 2 nights. A very warm welcome. The staff were friendly and obliging. Beautiful room spotlessly clean. Food amazing. I cannot recommend highly enough. We thougherly enjoyed ourselves. We travel a lot and I really must say this stay was the best we've experienced for a long time.

Decided to have Sunday lunch here after seeing some amazing pictures of their food. I must say it was worth it! Louise and Jo and staff were fab! Had a great time and throughly loved the local musician! They welcomed us and was very accommodating with my small girls too! We will be returning! Thank you!

Beautiful inn. Hosts very welcoming and obliging. Amazing and clean room. Food fantastic. Lovely rural spot but close to everything. Cannot recommend highly enough. New owners so work to improve is under way. But we loved it. We travel a lot and really must say I'm extremely impressed.

Went for Sunday lunch and the food was amazing. The squid starter was lovely, followed by the most delicious pollock cooked in a penang curry sauce. My partner and twins had the roast belly of pork which they loved, with them all emptying their plates. The rhubarb crumble finished it off nicely. Loved the place as a whole, it has a lovely feel to it and great decor, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Have heard loads of good things about the place from people and can see why. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a great meal. :)

Five star service and staff who went the extra mile to make sure we were 100% happy and looked after. Beautiful locally sourced food that met our complex dietary requirements (owner went out and bought food specifically to suit) and very reasonable prices. Rooms were spotless and clean, stylish and lovely and warm, a very pleasant surprise after a 6 hour drive and amazing price! Lovely friendly people and a cosy relaxed atmosphere. Cannot recommend this hidden gem enough. Perfect for a writers retreat or a romantic weekend away. Get all over this people it's top class.

Friendly 700 year old pub with good beer, a cracking fireplace and masses of atmosphere. The huge skittle alley with pool table and darts is looking a bit tired but with the potential for serious fun. I hope a busy summer can help this pub out and afford a little investment. Definitely worth a visit.

I visited in November. The pub was quiet and I had a great evening chatting with the three other customers that night. The food has a West Indian theme. Although I had a bar meal, there is a restaurant area and skittle alley. They have B and B apartments. They also subscribe to "Brit Stops".
