Just stopped here — absolutely disgusting service! Literally shouted at and spoken rudely to as soon as we stepped in the door. Snapped at whether we were eating in or not, about which table to sit at, about what we ordered! Unbelievable, never been spoken to by such a rude waitress in my life! What a shame to have such a negative experience on our way to our holiday destination. Will never return and DO NOT recommend at all.

We stopped here on way home from a holiday in Devon a week ago. BEST DECISION EVER! The staff are really friendly and welcoming. They interacted with my little girl and made our experience 10x better! The food was amazing…probably the best food we had all holiday! 100% would recommend. Will definitely be visiting again!

Fabulous food and friendly service — we even met Fatboy Slim who had stopped for a snack!

Stopped for a quick brunch on my way home to Cornwall very friendly staff and my omelette was delicious, will call again.

We stopped for a quick bite to eat. Nearly £10 for a sandwich! Limited menu so we didn’t eat in for cafe food at a la Carter prices. Better take out menu and half the price. Terrible and unpleasant service and god forbid putting ketchup on your takeaway bap in the restaurant as the waiting staff police will shout you down across the restaurant. Also if you fancy being greeted with a smile I would give this place a wide berth!

Very limited menu, overpriced. What we had was distinctly average & not worth price paid — over £30 for 2 sandwiches & a portion of chip with juice/can of pop.

Grotty looking place. Power gone to the waiters nazi heads over wearing a covid mask. Please leave people alone when they te you they are exempt.

Strange experience, person serving asked us to wear face masks whilst walking to the table, then served everybody without a face mask herself :-) Drinks were a bit pricey too.

Great bacon and sausage baps.

The worst breakfast I have ever eaten. No mushrooms or tomato. Bacon under cooked. On their menu on website there was a choice of 3 breakfasts. In cafe just the one.

Just popped in on route home to Cornwall and had a takeaway coffee and a piece of home made bread pudding, very tasty and coffee was good too. Made you feel very welcome even though we only had a takeaway.

Lady that served me today what a legend appreciate both of you’re service 10* food was awesome and milkshake was 5* il be a regular after today’s visit.

Was a bit nervous stopping at a cafe during the epidemic but was very impressed with their seating arrangements, social distancing and ppe. Absolutely delicious lunch, home made shortbread for the road and great customer service. Would highly recommend.

Personal service, great grub just what we wanted. Parking easy, no steps to get inside. A little dated but clean and comfy.

First time back for some time. 1st found to be very clean. Staff veŕy polite and tidy. Nice menu our food was cooked nice served clean on the plate. Definitely will return.

Been here a few times with very varied experiances however after my most recent visit I couldn't possibly recommend this to others, especially with a more than adequate pub, and a delightful farm shop cafe just across the road. Look up the old inn and the tea pot cafe at Miller's farm shop in killmington as great and reliable alternatives.

Food, and service have always been fair, and the hard working staff most certainly earn their money. Such a pity the management behave so appallingly to them publicly, and then feel a need to chastise those reviewing this establishment on social media! Appalling!

Clean modern rooms behind a really good traditional roadside cafe which serves a great breakfast (the large breakfast is huge, I dare not try the Mega). If you're booking a room here make sure you give them the correct contact details of the guest staying there. Reason is that it's not staffed after 10pm. If you're turning up later, they will make arrangements for you to get into your room. The staff here called me twice on the arrival day to make sure I was aware of the staffing arrangements to make sure I got into the room ok.

The people there were really kind and didn't mind changing my small breakfast to treat what I liked. The food was lovely and the A35 pit stop deserves to be more than a pit stop.

Go here every year as the pit stop for our annual visit to the west country. Staff are friendly and the food is good for a service cafe. A wide selection on offer to. We stop there for breakfast and as a fry up goes it's pretty good. I've never tried the mega one but if you want a breakfast challenge it's worth ago!

Banging food. Portions are immense and the food tastes like a proper cafe should. Great, quick service and very very clean. Kim and Aggi would be out of a job here. 10/10

Lovely staff, friendly, had a great chat. Coffee was good, tasted nice but was a little big for me. If I pass by again, I'm gonna stop again.

Stopped for lunch and very pleasantly surprised. I had a bacon cheese burger with fries, came with onion rings and salad. Has been one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Real cheese and a brioche bun, salad dressing was lovely; onion rings cooked to order. Milkshake’s made with real ice cream served very quickly with a coffee that wasn’t stewed or burnt. My wife had a prawn and avocado baguette with salad; baguette was lovely and fresh avocado was just ripe. Will definitely stop here again.

Great food at a good price. Well worth a stop to break your journey.

Not a place I could possibly recommend. Pit stop suggests a quick turnaround — this is not the case with this cafe. Desperately slow service and our choice of omelette and chicken and bacon baguette was extraordinarily poor. Did we complain — no. We just wanted to leave.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and we will definitely stay again. The room and breakfast was excellent and the hospitality of the staff is excellent. Definitely recommend staying here. Thank you again for making us most welcome Jade and your team.

Nice and clean. A little cold initially but the heating soon kicked in. Good old truck stop breakfast.

Staff welcoming and friendly but service very slow. My soup mediocre and roll cold. Good luck to them but won't visit again. My husband's large breakfast average.

Fantastic lil place to stop loads to choose from on the menu, very good value for money, staff are very professional and friendly, highly recommend a visit.

I travel between Bournemouth and North Devon alot and without fail I always stop at the pitstop for a drink and something to eat, it has very friendly staff and good food to keep you going on a long journey.

Only had a brief stop but the staff were warm and welcoming. Definitely a place to stop and enjoy the moment.

Really welcoming. Stopped to have a snack and feed baby and they were lovely and nice food.

Eaten here twice. Basic decor but that's the point as it's similar to an old truck stop. Went basic the first time with chips and cheese which were good. Second visit, I had the jacket potato with cheese, beans, and bacon (ask for the bacon and they'll do it). Very nice. The potato was perfectly soft and delicious. The only negative would be that the skin was also soft which I don't mind but another of our party prefers crispy skin. The last of our party had fish cakes and said they were excellent. Good service and enjoyed the visit.

Stopped for a quick bite after a long weekend in Cornwall. Amazing find. Fresh ingredients, amazing taste and lovely staff team. Chef rather good. Our place to go when travelling this way.

This used to be a great place to stop. Fantastic for breakfast after driving for 4 hours. Then it had new owners! Cheap food meaning exactly that. Ok if you like a bad joes cafe. Its a shame because every where else on that route is now a Starbucks.

Nice atmosphere, good music and cheep confectionary. Coffee wasent that good tho…

Warm and tasty food, quick service and friendly staff. The only negative comment I have is that there was too much fat on the bacon from the English Breakfast I had.

Food quality is ok but over priced. It is fast food quality but charged pub food quality prices.

Very comfortable, immaculate clean and new. Family rooms is cleverly and very well designed. Good value for money. Although lacking in some small details (bedside table in twins bed would be nice and shelf under bathroom mirror) I would recommend and stay again. Breakfast also very decent and generous.

There were 5 of us: 3 children aged 6 to 9, and 2 adults. Only two orders were correct — chips instead of onion rings, bottled drink instead of sqush and onion rings when we had requested no onion rings. The toilets were horrid: the cleaning rota dated from 24th July (we visited on 30th July), had horrible dirty streaks on the tiles which were mismatched. Several flies buzzed around the toilets. The food arrived. It was hot and much better than expected, although the sausages had bits of bone in them. As we paid, the lady who was cooking burgers was using the spatula to scratch something off the worktop. We won't rush back!

Stopped there yesterday afternoon. The place is very shabby and needs a good upgrade. Don't let that put you off. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered and the coffee came straight away
The food was served very quickly and reasonable for the price. All was well cooked and hot and there was more than enough of it. I had to leave some! The place is not 5* but neither are the prices.

This restaurant is located on the A35 just west of Axminster, Devon. It is also a small motel. Next door is a gas station, convenience store. The restaurant offers English food, burgers, fish n chips, etc. Recommend the Devon Cream Tea. Cleanliness good including restroom.

Rooms basic but comfortable and clean. Friendly service. Good sized breakfast. Good location for Jurassic coast.

Drive past this dump. If they serve food then all I can say is " it's food Jim but not as we know it" It's absolutely dire. Always judge a place by the toilets — nip in there and enjoy the acrid aroma and you'll not eat. Sadly I got it the wrong way round. A filthy pit serving inedible food.
