It’s a shame I even have to give them a star at all. The most disgusting hotel. Mould infested rooms including ON the bed! Dread to think the last time they sheets were changed, I had someone else makeup all over my pillow and duvet, my friend had hair in her bed and another had RED stains in hers, I don’t think it take a genius to work out what that is. No air conditioning or fans in the room as we stayed on one of the hottest days of the year, causing the room to smell like sewage from the blocked drains. Shower nor sink would drain, absolutely no hot let alone warm water for a shower, mould in the bathroom and all round the room… how none of us got sick, I do not know. The other two rooms where other friends were staying were exactly the same! One of the room keys didn’t even fit the lock causing the girls having to go to reception and being let in to their room by a member or staff each time they left their room! We addressed our concerns with the staff and got laughed at by two males. And as you can imagine, this really angered us! We don’t expect to be laughed at when we are paying £52 EACH, between 7 people for something less hygenic than a pig pen. We asked to speak to the General Manager and were told we can’t, this wasn’t good enough. We phoned down on our mobiles as there was no room phone, the general manager refused to speak with us or negotiate on price. Not even change the bloody, hairy stained sheets!

Cheap and cheerful hotel. If you are looking for basic accommodation at a reasonable price then this is ideal. Room was clean and functional. Breakfast was ok but only instant coffee was available.

The accommodation has not been exactly where the reservation had been managed, there was no service or images previously seen and chosen. Room service was Not done properly, bed undone and without replenishing daily cleaning items. Allegedly had a speech service in several languages, including Castilian and spoke nothing more than English. In the middle of the night a replacement of cleaning items was requested which they allegedly did not have at the time.

Ok for a short stay as hotel definitely needs updating. Hotel seems to have merged with The Glendevon next door. On street parking is a nightmare. We had to spend £30 for 3 days parking. The hotel itself is more a B & B. No coffee served at small bar which only opens in evening. The snooker table was jammed. So nothing to do if you get rained in. We never had our room restocked with tea, coffee or milk during our 3 night stay. No glasses in rooms to drink from just some small cups. The breakfast in morning was self serve and basic Egg Bacon Sausage tomato and Baked beans. Cornflakes, rice crispies and Mueslie, Toast jam. No Fruit or yoghurt on offer. The crockery had chips in them and was all abit mixed i. E. No matching plates cups etc. On arrival blocking the entrance to our stairs was bags of dirty laundry which we were told would be moved by the evening however more appeared and blocked the Fire exit door and remained throughout our stay from Tuesday and still there when we checked out on Friday. The Free Wi Fi worked for about the first hour of our stay and then Never worked for the rest of our 3 night stay. Staff never seemed very happy and not forthcoming with greeting guests first. Generally we wouldnt use this hotel again.

Hotel is quiet dated and unloved. Rooms r old and tacky. Bathroom sink was slightly clogged. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I went to the hotel for 2 nights and I found it okay for a place to just get your head down. Its good for being local to the nightlife and town but its a very budget hotel. If you're looking for a place with a nice breakfast I wouldn't recommend it here due to them just cooking the breakfast and leaving it under heat lamps that don't even keep the food heated. The breakfast was basically cold.

It's oke when you just want go sleep after a long day. Its near the centre. Its clean, a little broken. But just for sleep its perfekt.

OMG, Booked 2 Adaults, 4 Children on checking in we were shown room that was so small we could not put travel cot up, we were then told they would upgrade us, this room was all single beds… prob room used for stags & hens, not family or child friendly and absolutely stank of tobacco smoke. Bottom of Bath panel hanging off, screws sticking up on thresholds. We didn't even bother to get luggage out of car. Only 30 minutes after booking in and paying they refused to refund us. Make sure you look at rooms before paying.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! Dishonest reception staff work here… In particular, a woman who refused me access to my room — after I prepaid a number of a nights — because I could not stay the first night of my booking. They cancelled my booking so they could let the room be booked again. If they can refuse my use of a room i've paid for so they can double book it, you'd think they refund the remaining week or so of nights. But they refused to give me my money back. It doesnt stop there. When I called to complain, after she shamelessly double booked my room, and I contacted her to refund me with my card details that they already had (from a previous booking) she… charged me AGAIN! You heard me right, after I asked her to refund me to my card, instead, she charged me an amount a SECOND TIME! Effectively, Glendevon / Maemar hotel was three times paid for a room that she would neither give me access to the room nor a refund! Of course, she made her excuses but never bothered to reply when I complained about her double charging me. I cannot see how her dishonest behaviour could be legal. Personally, I think the place should be shut down. But I am willing to remove this post if they see sense and agree to refund my unused days from the first charge as well as their double charge.

Very cosy, lovely atmosphere. During off season-still worth to visit.

Clean, Very basic, Free Breakfast (Cerials, Toast and Juice'). Good value though, £23 for the night.

Very noisy, cramped room, shower temperature was erratic, breakfast was horrible. I guess it's reasonable value for the location and the staff were friendly.

It's an OK hotel, but it does the job if you're just looking for somewhere cheap to stay for a night. A bit dated, but staff were lovely.

Not had but not good. Very small rooms and the one we stayed in, the window wouldn't close. Expensive for what you get and overall experience of it.

Pretty good value for money.

Very happy with the room and the price was amazing at £35 for a double room with en suite for two adults including breakfast for one night I didn't think it would be very good as in general you get what you pay for but this has exceeded my expectations so far and the staff member who checked me in was very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Our two family rooms were place in the middle of a stag party. Only one staff member in the whole hotel. In fact he was trying to run 2 hotels. We had to leave after an hour and find another hotel as the stag party had people running and up down corridor banging in doors and shouting, loud music laying in one room with door edged open. All in all utter chaos. Lift was out of order. Another woman had no heating. Utter chaos, avoid unless block booking for a night out with friends.

Dirty! Woman's hairs on bathroom sink n floor No hot water, toilet doesn't flush Live wires showing just crap.

Very helpful. Even accommodated my gluten intolerance.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the maemar hotel and we have been regular customers, we were very satisfied and happy with the services and the rooms were very clean and kept in very nice good condition. Were looking forward to coming back to visit very soon. we were very happy with kartik a member of staff that works at the Maemar hotel who come across very friendly, welcoming, and generally a gentlemen, he is very polite and an outstanding individual with a funny sense of humour and a character, we always visit back because of the lovely stay everytime. Good location overall best hotel we have yet stayed at, thanks.
