Excellent hotel, friendly helpful staff, food very good. Excellent breakfast & great views from restaurant. Rooms spacious & amazing comfortable bed.

Expensive drinks but food was well presented and tasty. A little more on the plate would have been nice. Staff were very efficient, polite and very hard working.

We stayed many times at Crowne Plaza Plymouth and every time it has been an amazing experience. The best customer service you will experience, beautiful and spacious, spotlessly clean room. The food at Marco Pierre White is delicious as you expect. The view from the top floor and the location it's just extra bonus.

Great views food was nice but a little time between courses.

Love the hotel even though it’s looking a bit scrappy. Only downside was the other thoughtless guests. The bed was massive and oh so comfortable. The breakfast this morning was brilliant. Once again on a stay here, I ate to much. Overall fantastic service from all staff.

Room was spacious with a massive comfy bed and the most powerful shower I’ve experienced in a hotel. Would definitely recommend and book again.

Great staff, great service and great rooms.

Although I recommend this hotel, its does need some serious upgrades to it. Two of the three elevators were inoperative, the corridor leading to our room needed cleaning.
That being said the staff were very helpful, there is an excellent breakfast and the rooms are very nice. I especially liked the soft towels in the bathroom.

staff are friendly, very helpful and nothing was too much for them. We had breakfast up in the Penthouse, the views are beautiful looking out at the sea. What more could you ask for first thing in the morning.

We have just enjoyed the brand new outside heated and lighted seating area, built outside the Crowne plaza and it’s amazing! Really Covid safe and socially distanced perfectly. We Felt so very safe and it was perfect for our first drinks out since Covid started, Thankyou crowne Plaza.

Got here put on the ninth the floor and told lifts were out of order. Nine flights of stairs with heavy bags.
If I wanted to be a fireman I would have been. No offer of bringing them up later when the lifts working

Also booked direct advised the price would not drop and 2 days before trip dropped by £55 but told nothing they could do.
Appalling customer service. The reason we started is because we had an excellent stay in London Victoria best hotel have ever stayed in.
Just a shame about Plymouth. Premiere inn was good as stayed there a night before crown as came a night early.

It is always a wonderful experience coming to the hotel, I find all the staff very polite. The view from the restaurant is wonderful overlooking the Hoe, and the food is always good.

Stayed in numerous IHG hotels across Europe but this one is certainly the worst of them all.
1. The ROOM was dirty, dirty carpets with crumbs all over it and previous guests’ hair still present… 2. The window would not close — so old and dirty it was stuck. The thunderstorm kept us awake.
3. The kettle was broken and every time we wanted to boil it, one of us had to stand and keep the button firmly pressed down. 4. PARKING is an absolute nightmare.
Two members of staff wrote down our registration number WRONG on two occasions — only found out as we wanted to double check they got it right having read the reviews on Tripadvisor about parking fines. We pre booked and paid in advance for a space for two nights.
Upon returning to the hotel on day 2, we were told there were no spaces available and we should find somewhere to park in town. That meant speaking to the manager in order to try and get money back — we did in the end. 5. SWIMMING POOL
We went to the swimming pool to book a session but there was no one around we could speak to. The pool was empty. We waited 15 minutes and decided to go in. About 10 minutes later we were thrown out by a particularly rude young woman who didn’t even let us finish one sentence when we tried to explain. She did say that the pool was supposed to have been shut for cleaning at the time we went in! Well. It wasn’t! How is that our fault?!

Been coming here for about 8 years. Love this hotel and staff all very friendly. During this time they are doing their best and working hard to create a lovely experience and relaxing time. Breakfast was still great.

We were made to feel very welcome. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, in particularly Teodora. Our suite was very clean and comfortable and had lovely views out to sea.

Disappointed in the service I have received. Dirty room and the cost of the calls trying to sort the free upgrade I was offered and then being told no one available to help after several days of trying.

Friendly staff. Nice swimming pool, sauna etc. Reception/bar area is much brighter and airier since the revamp. Disappointed with restaurant, Pierre Marco White, despite ringing before arrival and talking direct to the restaurant about special dietary requirements and being assured that there would be a reasonable choice when there there was next to no choice. Very disappointing. We’ve been using this hotel for thirty years, I doubt we will return.

Breakfast was the best meal, all freshly cooked nothing left empty. Fish and chips were very nice.

Really enjoyed our stay here and could have happily stayed longer. The staff on reception are warm and welcoming and happy to help. Our room was lovely and spacious and decorated nicely. The room was also clean and comfortable and had tea and coffee making facilities which was welcomed after a long day of sight seeing. The location is fab as it is in walking distance of the town, restaurants and barbican. The hotel also has a pool and sauna which was nice and clean. We will most definitely return to stay here again in the future and have nothing negative to say. Very happy customers.

Fab. Recently refurbished. Excellent staff. Great location. Small cars only because of tiny, dangerous, dark underground parking with sharp corners and sharp jutting walls. Otherwise superb.

It was lovely stay I planned a lovely surprise for my other half for his birthday as a surprise I couldn't ask for anywhere better thank you so much for making it extra special. Worth the stay. We had lovely view from where we stayed. Ideal location and my other half loved it so thank you.

Lovely place to visit, although we live on the outskirts of Plymouth when we visit Plymouth we always pop in whether it's just for a coffee or a wine or a light lunch.
We are always made welcome by the staff who are there. There's always relaxed atmosphere when ever we visit. Love to recommend to friends and family.

Good hotel. Large rooms and big bathrooms. The staff are friendly and helpful, when I forgot some of my toiletries. I had no problems.

Great location right by the Plymouth Hoe, with lovely views of the water. Perfect base for exploring the area. 15 min walk from train station and close to beautiful barbican area. Staff v friendly and even got a free drink on arrival as part of loyalty scheme. Late check out was easy at the weekend given it is mainly a business hotel. Breakfast was on the top floor with lovely views.

Welcoming staff… Very friendly check-in staff and cafeteria staff … Very clean room. Sofa bed was made when we arrived and room was spacious. But one star lost due to dirty coffeee mugs. So recommend to bring wash up liquid :-).

Really nice experience, I had nothing to fault during my stay. Check in was simple and fast, then got to my room which was nice and large, and set up nicely. Are in restaurant there and service was very good, and the breakfast was fantastic and at a very good rate when included with the room! So overall very good!

Good rooms and good service in a great location. I've just enjoyed a good meal and some drinks in the bar without feeling I've been overcharged for the privilege of eating in the hotel I'm going to sleep in. This hotel has nice rooms and is in a really good spot near hoe park and Barbican. Staff are very helpful and friendly. It has car parking, multi storey for normal sized cars and an exterior overflow for larger vehicles.

I visited for afternoon tea with family and at first it was looking great. The views from the pent house were lovely. But from there the experience went down hill. The food was not to a high standard and the service was slow even though the restaurant was not busy. We had to wait nearly an hour for food! The variety was not the best and some of it was inedible. We paid a lot for this as it was a special occasion. Poor food and okay service. Not good for a well named establishment.

I requested for bath, I know it is not promised but it would be nice if you could do step ahead. Hotel really nice with professional and polite staff. Comfy bed, room big toilet size average but still good enough. Thank you.

This is a nice hotel in a great location. Not quite at the same level than your regular Crown Plaza (this one just got the name recently, still have the low quality standards from the holiday inn). The service is not quite 3*. Nice place tho.

Lovely room — we had loads of space, way more than we needed really. The only complaint would be that the TV was really small and quite far from the bed, which made it difficult to see. Other than that, the room was beautifully decorated and everything was cleaned to a high standard. I would definitely recommend this.

Afternoon tea in the Marco Pierre White restaurant on the top floor. What a view! And the sun was shining so the sea was sparkling. Awesome!

We had a course here. The food and drinks supplied were very good as were the facilities. However, I did not approve of the £5 parking charge as no mention had been made when the course had been booked.

Nice staff… Why no towel hangers in Bath room. Want you to keep the towels but do not have hanged to let tham dry… Good place to stay.

Facilities included a pool, a sauna, a steam room and a gym and they were very relaxing and good to use. The room was lovely and huge and it had a great view of the hoe, as well as the penthouse on the top floor (the breakfast buffet was great too). The service was incredibly friendly, felt very welcome. The nice complimentary drink was a nice touch too. Will definitely go again!

Refurbished since I last visited this hotel. Reception had major changes with a bar in the Reception area. The Penthouse restaurant has also had major changes and boasts a celebrity chef logo. This didn't prevent poor breakfast service when it was busy. Lots of people but little direction and orders being obviously lost (not admitted). On arriving I was greeted by saying all the rooms had been refurbished, but the room I occupied seemed to have been with the use of a coat of paint, new wall covering and slightly different furniture. The quality of the finish was poor and confidence was not inspired by duct tape being used to either hold the window in place (I hope not) or keep out the draft. All in all a chain hotel with the team trying hard but without the tools and sometimes needing better leadership.

Stayed for a one night get away for me and my partner and I cannot say enough about the hotel it’s staff were very helpful room was lovely bed was massive we both really enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was amazing will be going back again in March. Honestly can’t say enough about our stay. The pool and sauna were nice and relaxing.

This was a 3 night get away stay for my partner and I post Christmas. Arrived to a full car park and the receptionist telling me that I would have to sort my own parking out, I'm not from Plymouth so perhaps a little help would have been good. Checking in was uneventful with the receptionist more concerned with flogging us breakfast deals than anything else. Room is a great size with a great bed but no mirror for my partner to do her hair and makeup. She had to sit with the wardrobe door open on the office chair. Bathroom is very small with problems getting in and out of the shower. The mini bar fridge didn't work throughout our stay despite being reported twice. I'm not a moaner but just felt there was a lack of attention to detail. I would stay here for work but there are some better b&bs around if I was to come as a couple again. I believe this is a hotel that is dinning out on its location rather than really looking after its guests.

Very comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast had a good selection buffet style but cooked food was only warm and the fried eggs had a firm top to the yolk indicating how long they had been standing there. I was in at 8am! At £12 this felt a disappointing quality meal.

Excellent Hotel, indoor pool, lounge bar and restaurant overlooking Hoe Bay, spacious and comfortable room. The staff were friendly and helpful. Close to the city center and the Drake Circus, from the seaside of the Riviera and the seaport.

The change from the Holiday Inn to Crown Plaza seemed to have gone very well. You can certainly see a change to H&S signage and fire protection which is good. Bar area relaxing and food good. Not sure I will try the Penthouse restaurant, plenty of other offers in Plymouth.

We inquired if the restaurant would be serving a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner. It was not, but we were immediately asked what we wanted and were referred to the Events Manager. We were very impressed with the overall level of service, the interest in pleasing us, a customized menu that was absolutely delicious, a beautiful room set-up, and the friendly & fabulous wait staff who served us… all of this for our small group of 9. They went above & beyond.

Hotel room was great and we were upgraded as we are Members of the loyalty scheme. The breakfast however was utter chaos and the Plymouth Hotel should take a long hard look at that. Hot food was always without one item at any one time resulting in very long queues. What should have taken maybe 20 minutes took an hour.

Spent 2 mid week nights here this week but still very busy. Nice clean large room on 5th floor. Food in Marco Pierre White restaurant was good but nothing special. Perfect location for Hoe, Barbican & City centre. Staff were friendly. Only downside for me was bar near reception was windy due to huge sliding entrance doors. Overall very good.

Stayed at the Crown Plaza over Bank Holiday weekend and thought overall the hotel was very good and in a superb location. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful and the bedroom was lovely and very spacious. HOWEVER, the bathroom was very small and cramped and to get past the toilet to get to the shower was very difficult. The shower screen was fixed, with only a small section that you folded back to climb over the bath to get to the shower. Not easy if you are not very agile. I would stay in this hotel again but only if I could have a bigger more accessible bathroom.

Like most of reviews room refurb fantastic apart from bathroom small well worn. Had breakfast in penthouse amazing view wonderful staff breakfast very nice but not great had better but we really enjoyed stay and will deff return. Great location for threatre royal hoe barnican and shopping. We will return. ❤️

Rooms are nice. Shower is good, however seemed to go warm/cold randomly. Pool and gym are good, nice staff. Food is amazing, either in drakes or up in Marco pierre white. Decor in corridors a little bit dated and outside does not look very good, however the hotel is good.

Hotel staff are very friendly and willing to help, always smiling and polite. The hotel is modern and very well cared for. Our room is spacious and well equipped. Will definitely come back and highly recommend.

What a fantastic hotel, we usually stay there when we visit our granddaughter who lives there and get a family room. This visit however we were just staying one night to surprise her ad she was in her school musical and she did not know we where coming down from Glasgow to see her and as it was a school night we did not think she would be staying with us at the hotel. Anyway we were allowed to have her stay and when I contacted the hotel by email asking if a roll out bed could be put in our room they went one better and gave us a family room with another bed in it. Thank you so so much for your kindness and also thr good wishes you conveyed to our granddaughter. This is why I would recommend the Crown Plazza to everyone. Staff are so friendly and nothing is s bother to them so again thank you so very much and we hope to see you all again very soon. Mrs Margaret Kay.

Room was clean, staff were helpful. The new renovations are amazing! I've never been somewhere that serves breakfast with such an extraordinary view, such as this one overlooking the Hoe.

Good hotel with excellent facilities. Recent revamp has made hotel more fresh but some areas look like they have been done quickly without any thought. Unfortunately the fire alarm went of at 0030 when we were staying and the handling of it I thought was poor with no explanation to guests or staff assisting guests on floors. The receptionist said in the morning they only have 3 members of staff overnight which is a little concerning for a hotel of this size!

Were staying here at the moment. I must say the staff here have been amazing. The ladies on reception are fantastic made us feel at home. Great facilities and location, very friendly environment, and the pool and health facilities are amazing. Would recommend to everyone to come and spend at least one night here. Thank you everybody for making our stay so comfortable.

Meeting friends in the new refurbished bar, a good place to meet but the service left a lot to be desired, seems that whilst we were the only ones ordering we were rushed as she had other things to do and was not customer focused. Shame really when trying to show people the facilities.

Great location, the hotel itself is very dated. Restaurant isn't up to much you'd be better off eating somewhere nearby there's plenty of places about. Gym is decent and the pool is nice enough but the shallow end is REALLY shallow makes swimming lengths quite difficult. The underground carpark is a nightmare, it's very narrow and tight and if you're not the greatest at parking or have a larger vehicle then you're possibly going to end up with a dent or a scratch along the way! Staff very friendly and helpful and the ground floor bar is pleasant, modern with a good atmosphere.

Breakfast was good, parking is free and Wi-Fi is also free of charge. However, the whole hotel seemed somewhat in need of renovation. Many things were ragged or the couch in the room sat through.
The situation is however great.

On arrival to the hotel the reception looked very nice. Throughout our stay the staff were all exceptional, polite, friendly and professional. The food was excellent. However, on arrival despite booking a double and 2 single beds we entered our room and we were shocked. I mean dumbfounded! The room was tiny, dirty with old net curtains hanging. There was only a double bed and a dirty faded sofa bed which I guess we were supposed to make up ourselves. The worst bit was the patio doors. They were so drafty that the room was freezing cold and the wind was howling. Very very noisy and such a draft I thought they were left open. Actually they had been duck taped to try to mend them! I can not believe we payed ALOT of money for this. My husband contacted reception who then moved us to another room. Honestly room 9 was totally awful and should never ever be allowed to be used.

We stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast. Our first room was of very poor standard, with draughty windows and a broken heater, it needed to be refurbished. The staff were very helpful and friendly and got our room changed and even upgraded at no extra cost for our inconvenience. Restaurant is on the top floor overlooking the hoe, view is amazing and again the staff were friendly and helpful. Having a pool on site was one of the reasons why we stayed and we wasn't disipointed. I would go again but I think I would reserve an upgraded room just to be safe.

Great place to stay if you love The Hoe. Super views from the top floor restaurant and bar. Staff are very helpful and friendly. We have stopped there four times in the last year or so. Back again in august for the fireworks.

The Holiday Inn is in a wonderful situation just a stone's throw from Plymouth's beautiful waterfront. Service is good and rooms spacious. Everything is clean and well kept up although the outside looks tired. There is a health club and swimming pool at the hotel. This is not up to 4 star standards but an excellent choice for families and visitors David.

Good rooms, great location for Hoe, Barbican, city centre. Can't review restaurant but had very good breakfast at Yardarm pub 100m uphill from car park entrance. Only mild criticism, shower over bath had insufficient height. At Max height on rail and pointing horizontally still below shoulder height (I'm 6ft), have to stoop to shower hair, only good for 5ft or less.

Definitely not a 4* hotel. Despite being in a superb location, the building itself was a let down. The hotel was built around the 1960s, meaning you have paper thin walls and floors and can hear far too much of the other guests. We also found that outside noise was terrible despite being on the 9th floor, due to old fashioned, poor fitted glazing. Being woken up by loud skwarking sea gulls is never nice.

Seen better days. Cheap breakfast but some of the personnel was quite rude. Nice view from the penthouse restaurant.
