A great Little stay here, beautiful gardens and the staff are very friendly, great cooked fresh breakfast in the morning, lovely and close to the beach.

A very warm welcome, well decorated throughout with some fabulous communal area’s to relax and have a beer. Ideally located for the town centre and seafront.

We stayed 3 nights in a very comfortable room. Hosts were attentive and informative. The atmosphere were relaxed and friendly. Well worth an excellent rating.

Lovely place about five minutes walk from the sea front. Well equipped rooms and a great garden around the back with a sun terrace. Very friendly staff, and the unusual addition of an honesty bar, the full english breakfast was also very good. If I was staying in the area in the future I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Loved our stays here stopping over for cornwall holiday. Good rooms very friendly hosts and a relaxing environment.

My partner and I had an excellent stay at this friendly, family run hotel. The owners, Dan and Megan, live on site and therefore they really care about your stay. The hotel itself is steeped in history and is unique architecturally. We learnt more about its history at Sidmouth Museum, where there are some good old pictures of the building. The rooms are to a high standard and the housekeeping team made the room look welcoming every day. Breakfast was very good, my partner particularly enjoyed the kippers. You can also eat your evening meal at the hotel with a menu that changes daily. Every night that we chose to "eat in" we enjoyed the food (and the fun service provided by the youngest daughter of the family! ). All in all we had a great stay and would certainly recommend The Woodlands and will no doubt make a return visit.

Had a fabulous few days at the Woodlands and have nothing but praise for Megan and Dan. The rooms are spacious and spotless. We were made very welcome, including the two dogs! The food was excellent and Frank the chef did us proud. Great atmosphere and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone,

Lovely warm welcome and service. The room was very generous in size, clean and recently refurbished to a good standard. We stayed this winter and found the room was warm. Our ground floor room also had direct access to the communal patio area at the back of the hotel which would be lovely in summer. Dogs welcome (at a small charge). You can ask for a ramp for the one step at the front door and the 2 ground floor rooms are very large with a small bathroom (no walk in shower but manageable if you are able to walk a little or have upper body strenght to shuffle in from the floor). It's 's very close walking distance to the beach and town centre. I would absolutely stay here again.

Great hospitality and comfort. Lovely room and stay. Breakfast selection was good and social rooms downstairs comfortable and relaxing. Town and seafront is well within walking distance. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel, lovely location, not far from town or seafront, and excellent breakfast. The service was exceptional, rooms lovely and modern. Having the choice of evening meal and bar was great when the weather was so stormy, which couldn't of been helped! would definitely recommend and book again. Thank you.

For hosting a story telling event, this venue is amazing. It is comfortable and warm, and the coffee was very nice.

Attended an event for Sidmouth Folk Week. The staff were very friendly.

A very nice friendly and welcoming Hotel. A superb location close to town and seafront yet very quiet and relaxing. Food is superb and the "honesty" bar is a lovely touch. The owner Dan makes you feel part of his family.

The new owners have turned this hotel around dramatically in 12 months. Splendid accommodation, superb restaurant, spacious lounge with well stocked bar. A friendly environment makes this the place not to miss if you are anywhere near Sidmouth.

It's basic and a little outdated, but for what it is, it offers good value and excellent service. Would definitely go back!

Talk about false advertisment, the rooms were so small, smelly & dirty, what a big rip off! checked out early didnt get a refund, would not be vistiting ever again.
