Just wanted to thank Chef Adam, his team and the whole front of house team for making our evening with you such a special one! We all enjoyed the warm welcome and stunning cuisine!

We had the most amazing festive afternoon tea here today. Our thanks to every member of staff, from the lovely welcome from James on reception to the amazing, attentive friendly service from the young gentleman & lady who served us. The food was stunning! Every item a work of art and totally delicious. We had a meat option and a vegetarian one, with the most tasty bruschetta I’ve ever tasted. Smooth velvety hot chocolate. Everything was delicious perfection. Hate to mention the c word but it was so covid safe too with sanitiser & tasteful, unobtrusive but reassuring screens between the tables. Absolute perfection. Many thanks for a wonderful experience.

We nipped in on the way home from cheshire, desperate for refreshment and we ushered in with a warm smile. The pot of coffee gave all 3 of us 2 cups each, at an equivalent of £2.50 per cup. The surroundings and service were world-class, and I can't recommend The Cavendish Hotel highly enough!

Had a couple of nights in the Cavendish for my birthday. Really didn't want to come home as felt so welcome and comfortable in this beautiful hotel. The scenery from our room was spectacular and the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to go again.

Having visited a few years ago for very special occasions, after several holidays and weekends away this year were cancelled, we treated ourselves to the fabulous ‘Escape on Sunday’ deal. We had a perfect night away, lovely cream tea served in the fabulous bar followed by an amazing meal in the restaurant. The hotel has responded magnificently to all the CV19 regulations and we felt safe and comfortable at all times. Special thanks to Stuart for looking after us so well. We won’t leave it so long next time!?

Great overnight stay with a cream tea on arrival, fabulous Gallery tasting menu for dinner and a lovely English breakfast the next day. Excellent service with friendly attentive staff. We will be back.

My friends took me here for a pre-baby afternoon tea and it was wonderful. Perfect amount of food, good mix of sweet and savoury and all very fresh and tasty. Excellent service and a lovely atmosphere even though it was a quiet Monday. Would definitely recommend.

The Cavendish hotel was a lovely experience the hotel itself is very clean and tidy without losing its charge and the staff are superb although the breakfast could be better on three occasions we asked for sugar for the Weetabix and never received it but all in all a very good experience.

We had the best time during our visit to The Cavendish Hotel and Chatsworth House. The staff at the hotel is exceptional! The dining is top notch. High tea is a delightful experience and the bar provides fun and festive cocktails! We absolutely did not want to leave and are scheming now on how to get back as soon as possible! Thank you all for making our trip one we will never forget.

I booked the Kitchen Table dining experience for my Wife and I as an anniversary present and we were thoroughly impressed. The standard of food was fantastic but not only that the chefs were very accommodating and chatty despite working under the pressure to deliver top quality food to a full dining room. Adams menu is extremely tasty and up there with the best food I’ve had for delicacy and intricacy of flavours. I’m certain that he will have a Michelin star to his name in the near future. Thankyou for a great evening. It was a pleasure to watch top chefs in action and we will definitely be back again.

Fabulous hotel where each and every member of staff were helpful, polite and extremely friendly. Rooms were spotlessly clean. Restaurant was superb too.

Had lunch in the garden restaurant the food was very good staff helpful and friendly.

Service is amazing and food great furnishing in keeping with hotel four poster bed with two sofa in our room.

If you feel like relaxing, being looked after and doing somw country walking, this is the place for you. The rooms are cosy, staff are very friendly and you can walk all day in the surrounding country side. At the end of the day settle for a great meal.

Came to spend the day with my Canadian cousin and her husband, who were staying here on a visit, lovely food, attentive staff and beautiful views.

We first came here as a newly married couple in 1991 and have come once or twice a year ever since. We have very fond memories of staff present and passed, who have made our stay special for many reasons. All of the rooms are magnificently furnished with big comfy beds and comfy furniture in keeping with the style of the hotel. The staff are courteous and their service proactive to your needs. The delicious food is so worth a trip and the magnificent bar has a range of fine wines, a choice of branded drinks and craft beers to choose from The view from the upper floor rooms over Chatsworth are to die for. Come on down, you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic food, amazing hospitality and the friendliest staff you could wish to meet a true pleasure of an afternoon which was relaxed and yet extremely professional in a behind the scenes style,, fabulous. Highly recommended and I’m now looking forward to my next visit.

No flexibility on dinner time: I hate to be pressed by staff from drinks into dinner, specially when it was not even 8 pm. Too many questions about how good is my experience with the hotel: I hate to be constantly pressed by staff in saying I am having the time of my life, should it be the case or not. Design in the rooms is old fashioned and stuffy. Maybe that reflects clientele expectations they feel they are in a historic place, which are very different from mines.

This beautiful hotel was perfect for our wedding anniversary. Lovely food, wine & service. The view is from bedroom no 1. Stunning. Rooms are great. Could not fault anything. You can walk into Baslow or Chatsworth estate.

Went for Afternoon Tea. We arrived an hour before they finished serving Afternoon Tea, yet were told, "Sorry, there are none left", with no explanation. So, does one conclude they're too lazy to make more, or they hadn't ordered correctly? In either case, it didn't inspire confidence.

Lovely lunch, had fish and chips and Caesar salad. We requested a jug of iced tap water which given how hot it was should have been offered anyway. Brought a carafe which didn't last long requested another for it to arrive luke warm. Service wasn't brilliant but the setting was beautiful.

Nice place but on our visit had run out of pint pots and only took cash which was a bit limiting.

Exceeded our expectations in terms of atmosphere, charm and the quality of food. We especially enjoyed dining in the garden room where we had a wonderful view of the countryside complete with sheep and sunset as we enjoyed drinks, dinner, and tea. A perfect romantic country stay.

On the wonderful backdrop of the Derbyshire Dale's the Cavendish Hotel makes a great venue for a High Tea. The portions were large with enough to take home. If you have time why don't you take a stroll to the stately home of Chatsworth.

Excellent special festive menu for my in laws anniversary. Couldn't fault the service, even though we were a large party making rather a lot of noise! Lovely environment, could do with some modernising in the private dining room in terms of power supplies etc but extremely minor. Parking an issue on the day we visited I think partly due to local events and the building works, we were accommodated but very little flexibility when I asked if I could keep the car there overnight and get a taxi home and was told I would need to move it.

Amazing here. Been twice once for afternoon tea for my fiancee birthday and a second time for Sunday lunch. Both times have been amazing and the service was perfect. Also they were really friendly and helpful with the fact we had a new born who cried for sometime gave us time to deal with her before food.

We have always had such a great and lovely experience. I will cherish this hotel for the rest of my life and I smile every time I drive past, as me and my wife spent our first night here as man and wife. … Thanks for all the great memories.

This is a high end hotel. Service is impeccable and room and restaurant are top notch. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the view is breath taking. If you have the money, splurge. You'll be thankful you did.

The hotel is gorgeous, with lots of history, charm and interest. However, I have been there twice for Afternoon Tea, and their service let them down. With only one table in the restaurant one could assume the service would have been great. After the food was delivered, we were ignored and had to flag someone down to get anything we needed. A bit too 'stiff upper lip' seriousness in their approach, but not polished and attentive. Need to improve.

The hotel building itself is beautiful, the setting, views; stunning. The newly refurbished Garden Room restaurant has open views of the Derbyshire countryside. The food was excellent and the staff attentive and very polite. We've never been before but will definitely be going again and will recommend to friends and family for sure!

Went for afternoon tea the service was 5 star the surroundings were 5 star with an excellent selection of cakes and free flowing coffee, my only complaint was the sandwiches because they were all cheese with the exception of 1 egg. A selection would have been nice especially as I don't like cheese.

Beautiful surroundings, lovely sandwiches and melt in the mouth cakes, free flowing tea, coffee and hot chocolate, roaring fire, very polite and welcoming staff, a real treat and great value for money, so lucky to have such a great hotel so local to us. We will be going again.

This is one of my favorite hotels in England and has been for the last fifteen to twenty years. The Hotel, the fine dining, the surrounding country side and the refined ambience of the Peak District is the required balance which enables me to cope with the rest of business world.
