At 1st I was shocked with David. He opened the door and blurted immediately "No I dont know". I didnt even open my mouth yet. But its just his style. I love this place. Soft bed. Lovely breakfast. A must visit. David is so helpful. Love his hospitality. Must visit.

I love here very much but only stay here one night, it's a pity.
The owner has prepared really nice room and toilet, althoug toilet is separated from the room (It doesn't matter because I think I'm the only customer in the building. ) My room is small but delicate.
Also, the owner is very helpful for travller, he can provide you lots of travelling information and help you plan your trip with the knowledge of the local. Thank you very much, David.

David's eccentric and a character, not everyone's cup of tea. If you can ring him he'll alter prices. For the amount I paid, with it, wouldn't stay at the height of the season. The area has a fat frying smell, which permeates the rooms. Touch and go on the breakfast…

I arrived at 22:11 and was greeted by Mr. David Maloney, a very well respected gentleman. The stay was going well until a very deeply offensive man from Oklahoma by the name of Frank Garrett showed up at the door calling Mr. Maloney all sorts of obscenities. Mr. Maloney quickly shoved something up him and sent him packing. Another guest was quite strange, a non practicing lawyer who kept asking if he could call me Lucifer. The town itself was quite nice although I dialed a Mr. Murdock on accident whilst using a pay phone and he threatened to have my balls hanging in the closet if I ever called him again. All in all I give this place eight out of eight inches.

It was a honor dealing with a well respected gentlemen. My room had free outgoing calls to any uk number thanks to the British Telecoms and my room had a number of copies of switch magazine. The last day of my visit, Mr Maloney gave me his drugs and I gave him mine. What a true well respected gentlemen.

Mr Maloney is a very well respected guy but when making a reservation he thought I was a chap from Oklahoma. He was having issues with his telephone.

Brendan chase is located near Barclays bank Windermere. David the manager of the bed n breakfast provides you with lot of information of spots to visit in and around lake District. The information he gave was really useful. He also arranges one day trip partnering with lake tours n mountain goat. The disappointing factor was his attitude towards Indians due to some bad past he faced. He was very rude when we asked to eat our own food in his dining room. We had to hunt places outside with 2 kids n sub zero temperatures. He could be more warm than what he is. But I also understand his age is stopping him from doing that n the bad experiences he had with couple of Indian folks. Good stay but the heater in the rooms should be improved.

Very poor welcoming, very demanding and rude. The room was very very cold, had to wear couple layers to keep warm.

Two nights stay in guests house in Windermere Lake District UK. We travelled from Oklahoma We enjoyed company of well respected individual a owner of this establishment Mr. David Maloney a retired charter accountant. His tellyphoooon was conshtantly ringing and Mr M A L O N Y had to always pick it up.

Personally, I would not recommend anyone living in this hotel. On the first day that we walked into his home, the hotel owner, David, scolded us for being late, even scolding my father, who is older than him for taking his time. Also, I believe it is not even a hotel too, it is just a bedroom with a toilet shared by others too. Luckily for us, we only stayed for a day. All in all, I would definitely not recommend this "hotel" to anyone and if you have already booked his hotel, pray to GOD that you will not be able to meet him. He should retire. This is a guest house in Windermere, in the United Kingdom. I was here for 3 nights. The owner is David Maloney, who is a very well respected individual. Unfortunately, he gets telephone calls basically, from various places in the world, okay? Where THEY THINK he is calling them. And he has never made an international tellyphone call. Very strange. The first night it was just myself and an 85 year old woman who kept swearing at David. Disgusting! I think she was taking some kind of drugs or drinking. On the 2nd day, David told me he'd had calls from Oklahoma that afternoon. This man with a filthy mouth wouldn't stop swearing down the phone, and David nearly came down there to stuff something up him! How DARE he speak to him like that? The last night I was there, he ended up speaking to someone in Alaska, the eastern seaboard of the United States, Chattanooga, and a variety of other places. Besides the hopelessness of the British telecom service, this was a great stay. Mr Maloney, if you're reading this, have a good day as we say in America!

Great little B&B in the centre of Windermere — very friendly owners who were chatty and helpful. Free street-side parking outside was a big help! Would stay again.

The gentleman who owns and manages this wonderful little guest house in the Lake District, in Windemere, is a very well respected individual named David Maloney. But there's something terribly wrong with his phone system, For this reason only, I knock his rating down one star. When I showed up, he was sitting, relaxing after a hard day's work, watching television. His telephone rang, and he ended up speaking to a gentleman in the United States, in Oklahoma, who kept claiming that Mr. Maloney had called him — and Maloney had NOT called him. He has a lot of these calls, I'm afraid. So he's got some sort of crossed line. He told me he's been on to BT endlessly, and to the telephone companies, but apparently they seem not to be able to do anything about it at all. Other than this, the place is lovely, and Mr. Maloney is very attentive and has a good fashion sense. When my wife and I visited, she happened to mention over drinks that she was thinking of dying her hair and Maloney implored her not to do so. It was the right decision. So I highly recommend the Brendan Chase overall. Just don't swear down the phone at him, or he's likely to pay you a visit and stuff something up you!

Wonderful experience! David Maloney is not only a respected gentleman of the the community, but he is first class host! He has gourmet cooking skills and does go all out for breakfast. David Maloney has a great sense of humor and is a pleasure to stay with. His place was fun to visit, I can't wait to return for more of the Real English Experience of Brendan Chase.

I would like to take the time to express myself about the experience that I had recently with Brendan Chase guest house Planning to spend May bank holiday in lake district with my boyfriend, I booked this hotel through their website. I received the confirmation number by email and after that immediately I started booking my train tickets because I was aware that during this period everything is quite fully booked and more expensive. After booking my train tickets I received and email from “David” and the cancelation number on it for the room that I booked, he was explaining to me that he made a mistake not to close those days and the room that I booked wasn’t longer available so he cancelled it. I contacted him by phone directly I explained to him my situation. I had already purchased my none refundable train tickets and most of the hotel between my budget were already fully book. I said to him that I understand, maybe he made a mistake not to close those days for the category room booked for me, however wasn’t my problem, as a former hotelier/Hospitality employee if the hotel/guest house do not close the availability and the guest book the room and receive a confirmation number, they need to honour the booking and if they are fully book on that category they need to upgrade someone (not necessary me). He said that he couldn’t do anything about it just apologize and offer to me other room but I needed it to pay more or to find other hotel by myself.

A good B&B located very close to the Windermere railway and bus station. Lots of good places to eat nearby. Rooms were clean and tidy. The host was a very interesting fellow and gave good advice and guidance regarding places to see around.

A great place great price. Quick to call up British Telecom to denounce any filthy mouth. Quick to sniff out any Americans cawling from Oklahoma to the Respected Gentleman from Windermere.

Location was good. Rooms were very old but the beds were comfy. The host was very nice and helped with planning the things we wanted to do with good local knowledge. Breakfast was limited but if you liked a full English then you were fine. Veggies be warned haha.

This place allows families and kids. But it's not worth paying 90£ per day for old furniture. Although owner is a nice guy who guides you about places around and prepare a standard breakfast with limited time period of serving between 8AM to 9AM.

I am from Ruckersville, Virginia and David was great but for some reason, he kept reminding me that he is a very well respected individual. I don't know exactly what that means but we had a great time while we were visiting Cumbria in the Lake District in the United Kingdom. I plan to visit David again but next time, I will bring my friends — Fred Herbert, Charles Cronan, and Homer Scott.

Please note that I have not stayed here, but I've read some reviews about this place, and decided not to book there. I understand that this man lives there as well as having a B&B, but I'm sorry I do not intend to pay £180 a night to apologize for staying there. Personally speaking I have great manners, but sometimes I like to wear sports trousers.
