This is purely about the Gym and Pool. I have a membership for the pool and gym, but due to my health issues can only use the jacuzzi and the pool occasionally. The jacuzzi is constantly cold and breaking down when the temperature drops. Went down tonight and it was so cold. The problems continue to arise over and over again. They clearly can't fix the issue properly and just use temporary solutions until it breaks down again, so my membership will soon be getting cancelled.

My Nephew and family invited me to Christmas day lunch and I have to say it was more than good… lovely meal. Served by amazing staff… Thanks to all the staff on duty on Christmas day… 👏

Me & my family would go for dinner regular at the Washington central cafe before it was done out and it was one of our favourite places to eat. The staff were always friendly and food was always made to a high standard. After not eating out for dinner for quite some time, today we decided to go to the Washington for some dinner and were really excited to do so. Today was a different story… me and my husband ordered a panini (£6 each) and were given the choice between salad or coleslaw but you used to get both! When the panini's finally came after a lengthy wait they were almost cold. My husband got sweet chilli chicken and it was extremely bland. I ordered ham, tomato and mozzarella which was also cold — mozzarella hadn't even melted and my ham had a big grey patch in the centre of the meat and was a grey colour around some of the edges. I obviously did not eat this and when my husband went to pay the bill at the counter he told the lady what was wrong with my panini and said he was not happy to pay for it. She shouted on what we presume was the cook, who rudely said "there's nothing wrong with it, it was only cut this morning" We are really disappointed with the service and food and will certainly not be returning. This is such a shame as it was once so friendly and good value for money with delicious food.

Lovley meal great staff will deff be back.

Had dinner on a Friday evening, fabulous food and service. Couldn’t have asked for anymore.

I came to my mams wedding I've came all the way from Newcastle the Room were very dusty and hot we had a fan that was that dusty it's gave me a sore throat wen closing the curtains they fell down manger (Keith) very rude and needs to learn some maners and have a attitude to help his customers, how he as any staff is beside me he speaks to is staff so inappropriate, other manger (andrew) is very helpful and couldn't be so helpful. Wouldnt recommend and I certainly won't be back.

Went for my 50th birthday with family (within my household) before 3rd lockdown, staff were very covid friendly. Meal absolutely amazing and staff were amazing and went above and beyond what was expected. We will be back as soon as we can.

Great place in the centre of town, good service.

Very impressed with how The Washington is dealing with covid restrictions for customers. My daughter and I had an amazing Christmas lunch today, the best I have had anywhere, the quality of food was outstanding and service faultless. Will be returning very soon. Many Thanks.

Nicely set out table. Nice and cool on this very warm afternoon.
Lovely freshly made sandwiches, tasty various types of scones and a lovely assortment of cakes.
Tea, coffee and iced water plentiful.
Very friendly staff from reception to waiter/waitresses.
Would highly recommend. Will return.

Ordered a takeaway service for 5 tonight and the food was every bit as unreal as I remember. Great professional service in line with restrictions. Will definitely be ordering again, real grub.

We were booked in for Mothers Day but obviously with everything going on in the UK that could not happen. Fortunately, they were doing take outs for the Mother's day menu where we too our plates down and they were packed up (amazingly and the food looked amazing) to take home. The bar manager even threw in a bottle of wine which was a lovely gesture! The food was amazing (as usual) and the staff were just as amazing and helpful! We will be back in when the madness as blown over! 5* service and 5* food!

Just enjoyed a wonderful joint birthday party at the Central, made even more special by the fabulous service we received throughout from Keith and his team. Had a nice meal but of the 3 staff members in the lounge bar one of the waitresses needs a good lesson in customer service, It was almost if I was bothering her for asking for another drink, She could clearly see my partner and I had finished ours and didn't bother to ask us if we would like another drink but happy to ask the hotel guest sitting behind us if they would like a drink… Finally when went to pay what a joke, Paid using gift voucher and offered to pay the rest on my business debit card and was told there be a 3% charge for using my business debit card, Not a credit card, I spoke to my bank who said its just a regular debit card and they dont get charged for taking my payments and its just wrong. Between the three members of staff they couldn't work out how to add 3% to my bill so I offered to pay cash instead.
I certainly won't be back in a hurry or recommend to others, You should be supporting small local businesses not charging them an extra 3% for nothing.
Shame on you, Next time I have a staff dinner night I be looking elsewhere.

Our meal was spot on all fresh and piping hot, the staff were helpful and all very pleasant great job all round xxx.

Only breakfast wasn’t so great. Food was very good but the front of house person was on her phone very unprofessional.

It was my first time to the Washington central hotel we booked a table for 2 we had a main and dessert it was lovely staff were very nice and polite always coming and asking if we were alright food was excellent and I will be coming again.

1st class food had xmas and New Years dinner there faultless great friendly staff beautiful setting always faultless.

Nice place to meet up for coffee or lunch. Can get really busy though and may have to wait a while for food. Drinks come straight away.

Been staying here for the last 2 weeks over the road at there other place, changed room on second night as noise from heating boiler was keeping me awake, staff on reception were very helpful in moving me to another room, used pool /gym/ steam room needs a bit of TCL in places but ok, had drink and snack in bar staff friendly nice atmosphere.

Had a lovely weekend staff were lovely n nothing was too much trouble. Food was great too. Would definitely go back if was going to lake district again as it's only 20 min away. Hotels also next to a shopping centre so it's the ideal place if you don't want to feel like your stuck in the middle of nowhere when your kinda in the middle of nowhere lol.

Lovely food and setting, slightly marred by grumpy staff. Only one waitress was friendly (I think her name was Becca). The restaurant wasn't busy, but to be honest — at times — we felt like we were an inconvenience.

There for a work Christmas party. The venue is reasonable, the bar is quite nice but the Christmas party was fairly average. Food was OK, but a strange combination of dishes for Christmas.

Beautiful hotel, great spa facilities, clean, well equipped rooms. The bed was one of the best I've ever slept in, so comfortable with good quality bedding. It is clear the hotel has assessed it's offering from a consumer pov, with little extras that make such a difference. Very impressed with my stay here this weekend. Considerations — hair towels in the bedroom would be nice, didn't realise ours were missing until we needed them! The noise outside can be noticeable with th…e windows open but this is the balance you get for a centrally located hotel. This wasn't an issue with the window closed and as such, my sleep wasn't affected. Somewhere private to change in the spa changing rooms would be appreciated. Aside from those observations, couldn't have asked for a nicer weekend stay and wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Totally disgusted in the management of this hotel. Twice I have been to the desk to complain about the spa area being closed today. I booked this hotel to take my elderly mum a weekend treat in the spa for her 80th. She is not mobile and it is the amenities I was interested. Had I know this I would never have booked this hotel. Having to stay in a pokey bedroom that you couldn't swing a cat in. Nobody has came to our room to apologise. The excuse we have been given is that it's closed for repairs today as they 250 club members and need it repaired for them. Absolutely awful. Would like to know Bill Dobbies number to let him know how his hotel is being managed.

Had a black tie dinner. Service was amazing and hotel was clean and well presented.

We had a super stay at this hotel. The food was fantastic in the evening and a great breakfast. The rooms are large and the shower was great. Staff are friendly and the pool was warm. Nothing to dislike, five stars.

Beautiful room with a very comfy bed. The food was amazing, first time a 'chef' had cooked my fillet of beef to perfection (rare), scrambled egg & smoked salmon for breakfast… perfect. Staff all very friendly. Would visit again.

But I am a night worker so needed daily parking and obviously a quiet room unfortunately I've been put in a ground floor room directly adjacent the main road (ear plugs in the draw was a give away) so not the best also there's a real draft from what I can only presume is the electric meter cupboard directly next to the bed which isn't the best, found a car park only 5 mins away for £5 for 12 hrs so that problem was sorted, all in all it's a pretty nice place small rooms but ideal for the single worker/traveler.
Would stay again though.

Good food. Roast was hot, great veg. Good selection of meat and great service. Like the new decor. Much brighter.

Very comfortable place to stay with polite and friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and adequate. Breakfast was very good and lots of choice. Location was perfect next to the town centre. Only limitation is parking and the noise level at night. Apart from that excellent and recommend.

Rooms very nice, staff superb, bit disappointed because we have a voucher we have different things to others.

Very friendly staff, decent sized room but very limited parking — had to park on double yellow lines while I asked at reception for nearby parking locations. They have access to nearby car parks though, so was just next door in the end.

Stopped in for lunch in the café downstairs, food was nice and staff friendly even though it was busy.

Another good stay, friendly staff and comfortable beds and rooms. Can be a little loud from the street in certain nights at the front of the hotel.

Comfortable and friendly hotel in the centre of Workington, helpful staff and good restaurant and facilities.

Not really a 4 star frankly but good enough for the odd overnight stay. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The food is average and a bit on the greasy side but if you're in the market for a carb fest you'll be fine. Forget the free internet it gets bombed out by guests post 18:00 and becomes unusable so if you need it for business bring a dongle. The room was spotlessly clean and in general the decor is in good condition. Poor in terms of value for money at circa £100 per night B&B. I'd stay again but only if I don't have to foot the bill personally.

The exterior belies the quality of the interior which in itself belies the quality of the staff and the food (the lamb shank is to die for and breakfast is made for you, not a self service massacre) ). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A surpsingly well stocked bar as well. A very pleasant surprise all in all.
