Had an awesome Sunday lunch a few days ago — the best roast beef I've had in a long long time.

A great Pub in Portreath, plenty of outside seating to the sides and front of the pub, even a couple of hammocks. Dog friendly everywhere except for the restaurant but plenty of seating available in the bar. Fantastic staff get you served quickly and check everything is OK during your meal. Ordered the dirty fries and the Scampi both very tasty and hot, evening food served from 6pm. Locals and Staff are very friendly and chatty.

Lovely surprise, I didn't read any reviews as they tend to be sometimes unkind. This is an excellent find. I will be coming back in the future. Staff are all very pleasant. Food exceptional. Breakfast has an option of smoked salmon. Rooms are all to a very good standard. You can see an awful lot of effort has been done to update this hostelry. Worth it's 5 stars.

Stayed just one night on way back from Scilly Isles but really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of parking, nice meal in restaurant and some good real ale. Bar side was lively as England were live on TV but a good atmosphere. Only down side was no ensuite in the really nice room but that was reflected in a competitive price.

Hotel: very easy to find, well located to discover the region. The second floor is accessible by a narrow staircase. The bedding is of good quality. The more you ride, the cheaper it is. On the second floor it is attic room with a view of the square. Room 5 and 6 are communicating if needed, well for the family of 4. But bad in normal condition: no soundproofing, no. Their bathroom is common. WC in this one. Wi-Fi works well in these rooms. The pub is downstairs, the diner in a room next door. Hair dryer provide, as well as toiletries, Kettle with coffee/chocolate. 2 bathrobes. All is very clean.

Luxurious inside, and good value, in a good location in a lovely village. Food was good too. I think it has been recently redone, so probably suffers from most reviews being out of date. We stayed in two of the rooms upstairs without an en-suite. Shared bathroom looked small at first sight, but was fine, and shower was decent. Had a tiny bit of noise from pipes in the night, but it sounds like it was a problem being fixed and it didn't bother me. There is a popular/busy bar downstairs, but we heard nothing from it, despite it being a night to celebrate on, so nothing to worry about there, got a great night's sleep. Staff were lovely. All around solidly recommend the Portreath Arms. Good cliff walks, good beach and good pastys and heavy cake from the bakery opposite in Portreath — it is a great place to go, and wasn't too busy when we were there. Highly underrated place. Porthtowan nearby is good for surfing, but less nice beach otherwise and busier. Plenty of things to do when it isn't beach weather nearby too.

Delicious food and nice ambience. The Porteath Arms is divided into a modern cosy bar area and the restaurant. Food and service was very good. Overall recommended.

Brilliant pub especially with its recent makeover. Beautiful interior and brilliant food options for gluten free and vegetarians. The food is amazing and portions are just right. Go to this place.

Restaurant is consistently excellent, good food and friendly service. Pub being redesigned, renovated and upgraded. What's not to like?

Very nice meal, was curry night, loads to choose from, from mild to hot and veggie option. Great prices too.

A very tidy older hotel which had had a major renovation over the last couple of years. Ropm was plenty big enough and very clean. Only thing it does not have an ensuite Also there are narrow stairs up tp the bedrooms. The restaurant was very trendy. A good menu and the meals I had were excellent. Prices for room and food were reasonable. Ample off street parking. I can not give it five star as I feel the staff let the plsce down. I dp not think I was treated as a guest rather just a number. Locals seemed tk enjoy a smile and a chat but not guest or visitors that I observed on the day. When I paid my bill didn't get a thank you or evdn the obligatory question how was the room or where was I off too. Great hotel still to learn customer care.

Had a fantastic stay here. I stay away a lot so I see my fair share of hotels. The Portreath Arms ranks at the top of my best stays. Wonderful, friendly and welcoming staff, clean, modern and fresh rooms, great food and a fantastic atmosphere. Not to mention a beautiful spot just minutes from the beach. Highly recommended.

Great family-friendly pub.

We were staying in the area and found the pub from a Google search. What a find! The staff and owners were friendly and welcoming, the food was superb and very reasonably priced with a great choice of menu and daily specials, we did try other places as we felt we should but kept coming back to the Portreath Arms, definitely worth a visit, hope to be back soon. Came here in May from my brothers Google search for places to eat local ☺ must say one of best eating venue I've had in many years and from a random picking from Google Hope to be very soon in one of favourite parts of the Uk.

A friendly place with good food and drinks. The rooms are very nice and the shower is hot. Too.

We enjoyed a drink in a lovely atmosphere. Nice and clean venue with pleasant staff.

Had dinner here in May 2015 when visiting from Canada. Food was good and staff were friendly.

Amazing food, very kind staff, rooms good, rooms 5/6 have shared bathroom which needs some improvement, but was ok.
