Food was disgusting… ciabatta harder then rocks, my pie was minced not how they described it, veg tastes like it left over from Xmas… toilet smelt like open sewer…

First time there after being recommended had the special cock and bull pie. The meat was so tough I had to take it out of my mouth and put it on the side of the plate not good. In all fairness the waitress offered me a new meal but had gone past it by then. The wife had fish and chips I thought it was a child’s portion. What she had was ok but not what we expected after our friends recommendations. Won’t be rushing back.

Had a lovey evening at Tyacks with a party of around 24, the staff were great and very attentive and we all had a lovely meal.

My wife and I visited on 4th July 2021 for an evening meal. They offer a cravery or other choices from the main menu. They have a good choice of food. The prices are slightly above, meal portions are ok. Generous portions are given at the carvery though. The staff were friendly and professional. I would recommend this restaurant/Hotel to couples, families and groups.

The Sunday roast is the best around second time of having it highly recommend it very friendly staff on the phone and delivery driver very friendly to I give it 10. Out of 10 ❤️

The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. Drinks are reasonably priced, no rip off hotel prices. Rooms are cleaned daily and very comfortable. Hotel entertainment if you want it.

Friendly staff. Tidy, well set out room. Good breakfast. Terrible disco right under our room making the floor and walls vibrate until midnight resulting in poor nights sleep and bad news for us as we had an early start.

Really nice stay, greeted by really helpful receptionist, rooms were lovely really comfy, ate dinner there Friday night and it was superb staff very attentive, the only negative is the waitress who did breakfast Saturday morning she was really snappy whenever she was asked for anything her response was I’ll do it when I have time and then didn’t do it, wouldn’t put us off coming back but she could do with being more pleasant to guests.

A colleague and I were down from Scotland with work, he stayed at the Tyacks, I was over the road in the Wetherspoons. However, I ate in the Tyacks, and throughly enjoyed my meals. The room my colleague had was stunning, he had a suite the lucky sod. The bar was lovely, with cheery barmaids come waitresses who had a bit of banter with us.

Fantastic staff that you can have a laugh with. Great food and an amazing atmosphere to eat in! Definitely recommend and will go back again.

Really nice bar and restaurant, food did look very appetising and the quiz is a killer. Very enjoyable place to go for the night.

We went there for my sons first birthday, both of my sons have allergies. The staff and the chef were fantastic bending over backwards even made my elder son something that wasn't even on the children's menu. I wish other establishments were as helpful. Definitely will be returning and have recommended the hotel to other allergy families.

Dog friendly but noisy pub. Rooms good value for money and breakfast very good. Let down by tired decor and information about Friday and Saturday music. Sunday was also lively and nosiy.

Went here for Trevithick Day and it was really good fun, staff were so busy but extremely professional. Bands were great and we will definitely be going there again.

The best hotel in Camborne. The Unicorn is the best pub. The best people serve the best people in Camborne. Go here, not the Wetherspoons.

Clean rooms. Friendly and helpfull staff. There is road noise and pub noise but neither are troublesome. Dog friendly, so my dog was very happy with the stay.

Comprises of a sports bar and a restaurant. They do a great breakfast. Probably the best in town. Evening and daytime meals are also good and they occasionally do offers. Carvery ok but not as good as some.

I have eaten here many times and I have always loved the quality of the food and the service. This time I stayed there as well. I can honestly say that I love the place. The room was huge as well as being warm and very comfortable. Cleanliness was second to none. I couldn't believe how great the value for money was too. I will definitely be staying there again.

We had a wonderful stay and service was excellent. Staff couldn't do enough for us, room service was free, rooms were spotless. Fantastic base to explore that end of Cornwall.

Good affordable quality meals for all the family. For any occasion. Most of the hotel has been recently refurbished to a high standard.

Went in for breakfast at about 11 o'clock and although most of the tables were reserved for lunch. There was no panic about serving us. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Food was hot, well presented and plentiful. Would recommend.

Took my Mum there for Christmas dinner and the service, by a waiter named Luke, was exceptional. Mum has a serious fruit allergy and yet they accommodated this perfectly, with no reluctance or inconvenience, and even made some products from scratch specifically for her. A wonderful setting, table dressing and huge portions of food; excellent value for money to boot… Will now be coming here every Christmas without fail.

Tyacks Hotel is a two bar hotel. One is the Sports bar for obvious reasons and is usually the busier of the two. The lounge bar is no the opposite side of the hotel and is where people prefer to eat or go to chat over coffee. I don't know anything about rooms as I've never used them. The staff are great and I eat lunch here as well as socialise at the weekends. It's pretty central and does have rear parking with cctv (as far as I'm aware) with parking fees being reimbursed if you buy a drink at the bar. It's a nice place to go for lunch/drinks or just chill out with coffee and cake during the afternoon. Overall a nice atmosphere and pretty good grub.

Best family room ever! Really enjoyed our meal too. Staff very welcoming and efficient.

Can't say about the hotel but the bar service is terrible on a Saturday night. Akin to a nightclub and you get skipped over by bartenders for what can only be assumed are their mates. Bar is not very tourist friendly on weekends at all.

Nice local pub and hotel serving food in a lounge area and drinks in other bar good management who have a knack knowing what customers want.

A really nice hotel with bar and restaurant, on site parking, very friendly staff (Dave on reception was exceptional) the room was very spacious, bathroom was modern and large and the food was excellent. I would easily recommend this place and will hopefully return again soon. :)

The service is good, but although the menu has flair the quality of the dishes lacks a little. I have only frequented the house once and will make a second visit in the near future as to assess on one visit would not be ethical. Good range of wines and beers. This is only my opinion and I would not recommend, but would say try it for yourself and write a review. I could be wrong.

We went in for breakfast and to watch the rugby (they were the only place to have sky! ). The breakfast was good — sausages were a little overdone, but everything else was delicious. The portions were a good size, the bacon was nicely cooked and the bread was close to a door stop! Staff were friendly.

Friendly staff, good food, reasonable room rates and nice rooms. Excellent breakfasts, don't try the Jack's unless you have a BIG appetite. Stick with the Jill's! Beers are well kept. Enjoy.

We stayed at the tyacks for the weekend, the gentleman on reception was really nice and helpful, our room was spacious and spotless so was the bathroom, the bed was very comfortable, had evening meal in the restaurant with friends, lovely food and great service from the waiter an waitress, and an amazing breakfast, overall a great stay.

Good food. Reasonable service but could have been a bit more friendly.

When we sat down, my partner realised that we were basically sat partially in a fire place. One of her chair legs was on the harth, so her chair wobbled. I had a jacket potato, which I think had been reheated a number of times, with baked beans that were tepid at best.

We were stopping at the John Francis Basset opposite but tended to frequent Tyacks bar of an evening instead. It's worth pointing out that this establishment has essentially two personas; a typical pub/restaurant side to it and modern "sports bar" side to it. We only frequented the bar aspect so all comments pertain to that. While very young all the bar staff were polite and pleasant and we had no issues or long waits at the bar ordering drinks. On Friday night the bar was busy as there was a band on and on Saturday there was a raffle which seemed very popular followed by music. Now for the few negative aspects. On the Friday night what should have been an enjoyable night for a couple was somewhat spoiled by over-friendly locals. Some merely wanted to tell us their life stories while one in particular had been refused service at the bar and was pestering people to buy him more drinks. On a busy Friday night no security to be seen. On Saturday evening we enjoyed a great meal. I had Rump steak which was exquisite and my girlfriend had Tuna steak which she thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately not long after we had eaten a patron fell off a barstool and seemed to attack one of the bar staff. I saw him push them back into the bar area, heard glasses break and seconds later he was dragged out in a headlock by either a friend or another guest who'd had enough of his antics.

Bars service really friendly, waiting staff very attentive. Food was good, we only had starters as a snack and I can't comment on price because I didn't pay the tab. However, the Tyacks hotel is an unique venue with a friendly and welcoming vibe — privately owned hotel and restaurant in one wing with a pub-style bar in the other. There's live music each week and a reason why it remains one of the most popular venues in post-wetherspoons Camborne.

Top local hotel in camborne, St Austell ales, tasty home cooked meals, wide variety of rooms from small one bed, four poster suite with rollers bath, huge family room with sofa and TV area, above all the management and staff are fantastic and really look after you, Great location, 10min walk to railway station, 15min drive to the beach and north Cornwall cliffs. Highly recommend.

Good pub for live music. If you fancy a quiet pint get into the lounge bar. If your lucky you can get a window and watch the world drift buy…

Had a carvery from the Tyacks, and it probably rates as one of the worst plates of food I have ever paid for. The meat was over cooked, the carrots were soggy and unpeeled, the roasted parsnips were limp and by the looks of them hadn't been anywhere near an oven. The potatoes tasted like they had come straight out of the deep fryer, and the gravy was flavorless. Nothing on my plate had been properly seasoned or cooked for that matter. The staff were unhelpful and looked as if they would have rather been anywhere else but there. Ultimately, if you've got a spare £20, you'd be far better off going to your local supermarket and cooking a roast yourself, even if you have never attempted one before I can almost guarantee you it would come out far better than what the Tyacks feels fit to call a roast.

We have always been regular customers to the Tyacks Hotel being the reason we chose to hold our wedding reception with them. We also stayed there for two nights in the honeymoon suite (four poster) and cannot fault the hotel the service is good and the staff were very friendly and helpfull. The food is good and the breakfast was very generous in portion. We have already booked two nights for our anniversary in two weeks time and are very much looking forward to our stay. Highly reccomended by J&L :).
