The New Lowndes Arms Hotel

Decided to try the New Lowndes Arms for Sunday Roast after being disappointed by my local Bletchley pub Carvery a few weeks ago.
Food & service from Mark were both very good & we'll definitely be back — thank you.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch yesterday 6.9.2020 one roast beef and one roast chicken. Plenty of veg and tasty gravy with a lovely big Yorkshire pudding. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere and all guidelines of social distancing were adhered to. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic lockdown roasts and desserts today! Perfect roast potatoes, succulent beef and lamb, delicious red cabbage all with lovely gravy. Followed by homemade puddings. Our nearly 2 year old didnt leave us any leftovers! Thank you!

Attended a Soul night held at the pub. Our first time visiting. Fantastic staff, in a pub full of character, along with friendly locals. Cannot wait to go back and try the home cooked food. The menu looks amazing.

We had a lovely roast here this afternoon! The staff were lovely and the food was amazing!

A proper cosy and traditional pub with a genuine warm and friendly atmosphere. Very good food here and their Sunday Roast game is strong! Plus a decent selection of real ales, comfortable seating, roaring fire on cold days, extensive pub garden and decent parking facilities. All set in an idyllic location that people come from far and wide to enjoy. So good, I had to buy a house opposite to make the most of it!

Enjoyed the Gin & Mowtown festival over the recent bank holiday! Great atmosphere. Nice grounds and friendly staff.

Held a party there for my grandsons christening, the buffet that they put up was lovely and the staff really helpful and friendly.

Arrived for a Sunday lunch and promptly order our drinks. Unfortunately one was left on the bar until I reminded the girl at the bar who finished pouring the pint of guiness 10 mins later. Sorry to say that the minimal amount of roast beef and pork that was wafer thin was served with no additional gravy and poor aunt bessy type roast potatoes. Our previous experience from the main menu had been quite satisfactory so I hope this review will help improve the Sunday lunch.

Great location, stunning views and superb staff serving excellent beer.

Great garden and food. Fab selection of Gins. I touch more knowledge would be helpful when choosing one of the very many Gins. But all in all a great night thankyou.

Great food, including multiple options for vegetarians. Host (owner? ) Had plenty of recommendations for beer too and of course the location is splendid.

I don't normally write reviews but was so disgusted with the way we got treated. Lovely views in the garden. But unfortunately we had a bad experience with the food. We arrived about 6.30 and there was only about 6 others there at that time. Yet the food took ages before it came out. No one came to check if our food was ok I had the chicken on a pea and asparagus rissoto. The chicken breast was bloody in the middle when I had to take it back I had to walk through the restaurant and take it to the bar which was embarrassing. They then took the cold food away and then came back saying it was just a vein. Well I have never seen a bloody vessel in a breast of chicken before and that he could remove the vein for me. There's no way I was going to eat it. They did offer to cook the same dish again but by now it was busy and would have probably taken another hour to cook and theyd already used that excuse as to why we had to wait so long the first time plus my dads burger was cold. No apologies just tough if you dont want it cooked again. No offer of refund or even a complimentary coke. So won't be going back to eat there. Sorry just felt very upset by this as it was suppose to be a special occasion for my dad and spoilt the evening.

Very friendly and accommodating. We turned up without booking and they managed to find us a table in the bar where we could eat with our dogs. The food was nice, if a little pricey but not too bad. Staff were extremely friendly, which is great as I think a previous landlord had a bit of a grumpy reputation. None of that now! Looking forward to going back.

Apsolutely love this pub, run by a wonderful family, they are always welcoming and provide the village of Whaddon the pub that they always deserved. They have a lovely selection of real ales and lagers, including Stiegl, brewed in Saltzburg, Austria. Gary the Chef and his team create some great food and their roasts on a Sunday are great. They have many special events, including a Bottomless Brunch on a Saturday from 10am once a month. And some live music events and a quiz. Plus we can take our dog there. Keep up the great work. 5 of us dined on Friday and although they had a very large Christmas works party the service was impeccable and the food was first class. Our waitress daisy could not have been better very attentive and friendly. Mark and Sue are the perfect landlords. If I could rate this pub higher than 5 stars I would. We had a great night. Can’t wait to come back.

We went in here on the off chance because we had seen the signs that it had re-opened! It was fabulous. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. An excellent range of ales — local ones too which was fantastic to see. The food was just amazing! I had the fish cakes and they were divine! My fiancé had a burger which looked amazing and he loved it too. My son had a fun time as well running around in the garden, making friends and playing with a variety of toys! Brilliant — we will be back!

Prosecco brunch is amazing! Delicious breakfast options and very attentive Prosecco service — your glass is never ever not full! Brilliant atmosphere, everyone there (staff and customers) was having a little sing and dance. Big shout out to Daisy too, she's so friendly, funny and down to earth. I think we are going to become monthly regulars…

Tried the New Lowndes Arms on Saturday night for dinner. Wow what a transformation! The pub looks fantastic — so cosy and inviting. The food was lovely — especially the Cranberry Bread n Butter pud, that was to die for! Whilst the staff and the atmosphere couldn't have been any nicer. Absolutely loved it! My only hope is that, overtime, maybe they'll be able to introduce a cheaper midweek menu? That way I can persuade hubby to take me there every week!
