I just wanted to send a thank you to you and the staff at Horwoods for an enjoyable wedding. I wanted to give special mention to Dottie and the gentlemen who helped us throughout and also with the pickup of items on 4/9/2015. We are grateful to Horwood House for their efforts to make our wedding a special day. The Cook Room was amazing, and other than the issues with the sound system, pre and post wedding logistics, and event management empowerment, the evening went extremely well. The food was excellent, and the attending staff were cooperative and friendly and helpful as much as they could be. Given that this was one of the most important events in my life to date, I congratulate all of you on your efforts to provide service and also the staff's efforts to address issues that arose. ****** Just as few thoughts to help you improve service in the future as we had a few lessons learned on this whole experience. 1. If the wedding party guys and girls are remaining separate for the night before, it is still best to have the whole wedding party stay at the hotel. The early morning logistics for the guys (staying in central MK on 4/4) were quite challenging. It would have been better to stay there as our luggage would already be with the hotel. 2. In future, it is a good idea to consider giving the bride a larger room the night before the wedding. My wife advised me that there was very little room for the bridesmaids and the bride to dress up considering the numbers and small space. Keep in mind that there are beauticians, hair stylists and photographers the early morning of the wedding. They did not even have table space for coffee for the wedding party girls, so a tray of coffee was put on the bed; this caused a major issue when coffee spilled on the bridal gown and had to be washed off before the ceremoney. 3 One other comment… it is always a good idea to check for any special requirements and make sure you have extra manpower on the day of the event for check-in, luggage logistics, etc. We were not booked into the honeymoon suite until after I advised our event manager Jenny that my new wife was upset about the sound system issues and had gone to her room, but I did not know which room she was in. I was not able to find a cart and after receiving the key for our room the night of 4/4, I made no less than three trips to carry bags to the room on the top floor of the hotel. On the third trip, the reception attendant asked if I needed help. I have a poor left hip so the limp is pretty obvious. It would have been more helpful if I could have given my room and my car keys to a member of staff and have them bring the bags up. We thought it would be automatic that we would have the wedding honeymoon room in the system since we set up the contract, so the fact that there was not any room reserved for the bridal couple means you have to improve communication in this area. 4. The breakfast buffet was ok, but not on the same level as the hotel that we stayed at before and after the wedding in central MK. On the whole, the overall experience was memorable and your hotel has a place in our hearts and we will come again to visit you. I hope you will take note of above feedback to help others in the future. Thanks Again and Kindest Regards,
