This is now VOCO and its a very lovely hotel. Still being done up but I had a new room this week and it was fantastic. Can't wait to return. Cosy, welcoming, super clean. Loved it.

We visited the Millennium Madejski Hotel on a 4 day coach tour. The hotel is very impressive. Our room was excellent as were the facilities. All the staff were polite and friendly and the breakfast was good.
On the down side we did not enjoy the evening buffet style meals at all which is a shame.

I have got a room with no windows to open to get fresh air. The windows look to the internal bar area?! There is only aircon in the room to ventilate which cannot be set below C18 and makes a buzzing sound. Absolutely horrendous!

This hotel's service is the worst that I've ever experienced. Their room service pounded on my door at 8:40 in the morning and came right in when I was asking who is it. They came back three times in 30 mins in the morning. They don't have any respect on privacy and just wanted to get their job done. The worst is their reception, a Caucasian in his 40 or 50s with ear and nose peircing. When I had card troubles trying to solve it on the phone, he didn't try to help and just waited in silent. He has a really big temper and attitude and yelled at me when I was not satasfied with his service. I'll never stay at this hotel ever again.

Smart tvs in the rooms and very good room for night workers.

Went to use the Health Suite at 8am and the door as it was locked. The lady was extremely rude — could hear her shouting because we were knocking and then walked away after she just unlocked the door? Didn’t even open it to speak to us? The hotel staff in restaurant/bar front desk, all lovely, polite and helpful. Clean rooms and lovely breakfast.

The hotel staff are not trustful and they can steal your precious belongings as happened to me. They can open your safe in a way and claim you are the only one who can do so and you may have lost your things somewhere else outside the hotel. I left my passport in the safe with a SIM card and a good amount of money in 3 different currencies and they were all gone!
I had reported everything to the police and still I have not had any updates or gotten back anything.

Love his hotel, very accommodating, & helpful. The food was outstanding. What more could you want right next to Reading FC Stadium and Retail park a short walk away.
We had a fabulous time.

I met John Madejski once when he started the auto trader, I don't think he would like the fact that builders were using big drills and hammers at 7am in the morning when the guests of a 4 star rated hotel are trying to sleep, extremely inconsiderate. I complained at the reception to a foreign person who took my details and said they would call me back, they didn't and never have. The hotel was cold on a cold day, the service in the lounge was very slow to serve a coffee, water and orange juice took about 30 mins? I won't be staying here again and would not recommend it, for £150 per night save your money and go to a Hilton in the centre of Reading!

Nice hotel, comfy rooms, good gym. Decent breakfast tho staff could be more proactive in offering food and drink items, they do the bare minimum and nothing more.

Clean, well-appointed rooms for a very fair price. We booked the family room (two double beds) for one night. Staff good. Breakfast not bad but a bit pricey.

Great hotel and home to the football club. Friendly atmosphere good food, Matt in the restaurant is really helpful and polite.

Nicer than the Holiday Inn. Big rooms. La Cafe isn't the best quality/value. Good breakfast. Massive bar.

Nice rooms. Why do these damn hotels have to unnecessarily pump out air conditioning in the room's even though the heating control is off? Everywhere bloody airconditioning this is England not the damn nevada desert.

Comfortable and clean with plenty of space. Nice working area. Lovely view of the parking lot from my balcony — which really can't be helped. The location was perfect, a nice walk through the park to my office each morning. The service was outstanding, every employee was kind and helpful. I only took off one star because the breakfast was served lukewarm everyday, and was largely unimpressive.

Only viewed the foyer area as was using it for an informal meeting, but it was well maintained and comfortably furnished. Staff were friendly and attentive too.

Had a room near the lifts, which doesn't get direct natural light, but it was nice & quiet. On exiting the room, if you've closed the blind overlooking the Atrium Bar, you should open the room door BEFORE taking the key card from the light activator, or else you'll be left in complete darkness! Would stay again, but only on a special offer deal. The standard rate is a tad expensive.

Club lounge is lame. Room and view very nice. Wifi good. Shower does not get very hot but sinks do :)

The rooms are well presented. The hotel is clean and tidy. The bathrooms are well equipped for families and people visiting for business. The staff are polite and friendly when you deal with them from booking in to ordering food and drinks. Visiting this hotel as part of a business trip. I was able to park in the car park but there is an overflow car park across the road if it was full. There are some good views to different areas of the hotel. From my room I can look into the atrium bar which is clean and tidy and showing a variety of sports from around the world on various channels. I certainly do enjoy staying at this hotel complex and will be staying again when I am next on a business trip in Reading.

Good clean hotel. Rooms clean and made up daily. Pool is nice but changing rooms are horribly dirty. Breakfast was good. Staff are friendly. Wi-Fi in room was atrocious, kept disconnecting. But would stay again.

Overpriced, albeit clean and very nice regarding staff. Business Breakfast in Etage4 is more of a joke, there is only welded crispbread. Room was very big for the price.

The rooms have decent accommodation as expected from a 4-star hotel but the workout facility is both underwhelming and has short business hours (claims to close at 10pm on weekdays but the door gets locked by around 930pm and generally tries to close before 10pm — you expect a bit more from a 4-star hotel but whatever). Food items serve at the hotel is quite serviceable given that there aren't any establishments close by where you can easily get food.

Comfortable meeting room chairs with good air conditioning. Yummy chips with fancy sandwiches for lunch. The water tasted a bit off.

Rooms were comfortable and well presented. Food was all hot and tasty, both from the cafe and served during our conference. Biggest issue was room temperature. Fine in the bedrooms as each has individual temperature control, but the conference suite was freezing — 300 people complaining about the temperature and it still took several hours to rectify!

Nice drinks, nice atmosphere. Good all round.

Stayed here for three nights. Room was very nice & tidy. Service was very good. Had issued with TV signal, was sorted out promptly. Had room service every night, found the food was below average. I had the Burger one night, was over cooked/dry. Had the chicken Korma, found chicken very tough. Only had one decent meal & that was the sirloin steak. Food needs to be greatly improved. Attended the gym, managed to do all the workout I needed to do.

Stayed to be in close proximity to Reading for visit to Museum of English Rural Life. Excellent hotel with spacious reception area and rooms. Used late night room service where menu was limited but still covered most tastes. Plenty of parking spaces but may be busy on match days when Reading play at home with stadium just next door. Plenty to eat at breakfast but more expensive than other hotels at £15.95 per person.

Decent food at Le Cafe but didn't get to eat at the second restaurant, Cilantro. Rooms were nice, even had a double twin bed room that was adjoined to our room with the queen size bed. Perfect for the family of 4.

Everything was above average. We had a large family room and it was well equipped and comfortable. Everything was above average but not excellent. Pool was a bit smaller than expected and no shallow water for toddlers but well kept and clean. Breakfast was again above average but not excellent. Food was fresh and service was good.

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean and tidy, the staff professional and helpful. The breakfast bar was well stocked and the food good. The only negative was our room was internal and the windows looked over the bar so there could have been more natural light. But that is just nit picking really. I enjoyed my stay. 8/10

Very nice atmosphere with a contemporary design. All staff very helpful with positive attitudes. One small bug bear! No vegetarian options for the non meat eaters.

Easy to get to from the motorway, good size room, sadly menu in room was not available in the Le cafe as they had "changed the menu" that night, but not updated the web site or the menu in the guest rooms. As they Thai menu was one reason I chose to stay here, I was very disappointed,

We stopped over for a night. Room was great comfy bed and very spacious. The food in the restaurant was delicious and breakfast was good. Reception staff very courteous but a bit off hand. Restaurant were very friendly and full of good stories. The bar was a good place to relax and chill out.

I was allocated a disabled room on check-in which I thought was expensive at £156. Room had everything I needed including an iron, hairdryer and free Wi-Fi but was light on tea and milk. TV was too small for the room with very poor sound quality. The room also only had a small window that looked out onto another floor so no natural light which wasn't great. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Hotel is good nice rooms and decor, ate in the cafe bistro style restaurant food was OK no complaints a fair evening with good service. Good check in and nice bar area too. Only complaint was breakfast was very poorly organised not enough tables mainly due to 1 or 2 people sitting on tables of 4/6 had they been shown to tables this would not have happened needed managing we cleared a table ourselves so our party of 4 could sit together. Overall I would give 7/10

Room was lovely. Food at Cilantro's was fantastic. Loved that breakfast and check out weren't too early so that we could have a more relaxed morning.

Spacious, modern, well appointed room with a really large comfortable bed Pleasant outlook towards trees from the full height window. Luxury ensuite with bath all very clean. Fabulous breakfast sets you up for the day. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Two pensioners who needed a boost and this experience definitely did the trick. Can't fault a thing. Do people complain for the sake of complaining. We don't have transport and found the frequent bus service to and from town superb. Staff throughout hotel very friendly and we are definitely making another trip soon. Thank you everyone.

Good hotel, but not new and expressive enough. Located in stadion so there are problems with finding the room.

I stayed here as part of a work conference. Rooms were very clean and well laid out, TV and desks were also high quality. Only negative aspect about the rooms is the location of power sockets, sadly none around the beds or bedside table. Food looked superb but was cold and fairly bland. I only rate 5 stars for the staff service as this was very impressive the entite night.

Go to the gym here. Friendly staff and nice people in the gym. Gym is small but has what you need and has a nice sauna and pool too.

I have stayed at the Madejski a few times now. For the most part it is OK. However little things ruin the experience. For example my last visit I was provided with a twin room instead of the double I requested.

It is a nice hotel. I recommend.

I stayed in this hotel 4 nights for business trip, it is very nice. The staff was very cooperatives, services was great. I would recommend this hotel for travelers who come to reading.

Stayed the night for a friends wedding, great location in a quiet road next to football stadium but this didn't seem to factor in any noise disturbances. Really nice, large selection for breakfast and bar stays open as long as people are there. Large overspill carpark is free, reading town centre not too far.

Nice hotel, shame about the location. Food is good but quite pricey.
