Great Location and Hotel, we absolutely loved everything about our stay here. Our room was on the 8th floor, so it had a small balcony for us to enjoy AND WE DID! Upon our late-night arrival, we were greeted by THE MOST FRIENDLY DOORMAN! This Man, a __Lafayette Fox, who was very friendly and just the person to be greeted by, after a long day of driving. The hotel, room, staff and amenities were wonderful. Checking in and out were easy and quick. The price was very affordable and worth every penny, especially with the view, cleanliness and location. The Hotel is off a major/busy highway, so there was a lot of noise from that. No free Continental Breakfast, but they provided Starbucks Coffee, in the room, for the guests along with complimentary water bottles.

See the pattern? They only responded to 4-5 stars reviews… why you won't take responsibility for your mistakes? I was moved from rooms 3 times, felt bad for front desk people have to apologize every time (after long explanations because at first they won't take fault) you need to train your people better, they need to feel proud of what they do… from broken things hidden in plain sight, to lie to their superiors. Bad communication… the reason of my review it's to help the hotel staff to open their eyes, make the appropriate changes, and rise, to the guest: check your room before getting to comfortable in it.

We ended up at the Sheraton via a Priceline Express Deal. Relatively close to Valley View Mall, the location worked perfectly for our needs. The area was quiet and did not feel unsafe. All of the staff we interacted with were super friendly. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious with a large sliding glass door leading to a small balcony. The pool looked nice, though we did not have a chance to use it due to our own time constraints. On the other hand, the room was not without its issues. The AC fan was noisy and never turned off, even with the temperature turned up. This also resulted in the vent dripping water, some of which got onto my wife's makeup. The TV had some static due to previous damage to the coax cable. The shower did not drain properly, so water was up to your ankles within a couple minutes. Some minor cleanliness items were observed as well. Overall, a comfortable stay and we were happy to spend one night, but a longer stay may have resulted in some frustration.

Awesome! Clean room. Halls elevators. This is a vary nice place. A little pricey but. How much is this much class worth? You Will get your money's worth staying here. Nice clean pool inside and out. That's right. Two pools. Love this place.

Always our favorite place to stay on our road trips. Extremely friendly staff, beautiful building and grounds, and delicious food. This past trip we brought our dog, and it was such a smooth stay. We were given a room with doors directly to a green space pet area. We were very impressed!

The staff at the hotel was very nice. My room was comfortable and not rustling. Lunch is meh.

Based on this location, first impressions, the very nice workout facility and the restaurant, compared to other nearby hotels, I really wanted this location to be 4/5 stars. Unfortunately, after roughly 6 stays here I’ve decided that it is not. As a pet friendly hotel they don’t separate well enough the pet friendly vs non-pet friendly rooms. If pet odor or pet sounds aren’t noticeable in your room, it most likely is on your floor. Wait time to get checked in tends to be high. Rooms tend to be in need of renovation, especially carpets. While the people and service at Shula’s are top notch, surprisingly the food is quite disappointing. This is one of those locations that you wish could do better.

Was there for an all-day conference. They were extremely attentive the food and snacks were great. The only bad thing I could say is they should make sure all their light bulbs are replaced if they're out. I had a really nice experience.

The room was clean and the breakfast was very good. Noisy Cleaning.

Beautiful room. Dinner at Shula's wasn't cheap, but was first class, delicious! Downside — room had two coffee pots. One broken one functional. However the coffee pods were for the broken pot so using them in the functional pot caused a big mess of overflowed water and coffee. Seems like a high class place like this could afford to get this right. All in all, though, it was a great experience.

I stayed 4 nights at the Sheraton by divine providence. I was walked from another hotel that was overbooked. I got to the hotel and the night audits were extremely helpful in getting me checked in. The night audit at the previous hotel was new and did not know the procedure. So Jen got me checked in and to my room while walking him through the procedure. Brandon walked me up to my room to ensure that everything was as expected. I could not have imagined I would receive this level of service from any hotel not on Park Avenue. I was in a nice room, and had a beautiful view. I'm a night owl, so I enjoyed the spring Virginia evenings from the balcony. It was perfect. I didn't have much dealing with any other staff, but when I did, they did not hold a candle to the night audits. Those two employees are the shining star of that facility.

This hotel is worth the few extra bucks. After a 13 hour day on the road, we settled into our very comfortable, clean room. Then We realized there was room service! This made me so happy. Being as groggy as I am, I didn’t place our dinner order correctly and the staff was there to help immediately. This was AFTER we received our food. There was no explaining to them, they just immediately fixed it for me. They gave us zero problems, and the food is so tasty too. This might be the most surprising hotel stay I’ve had. Customer service is top priority and isn’t that what a hotel should be? I’m so tired and they have just made this such a pleasant way to end our day. I am very grateful.

Quick 2am-10am stay for me. The room was good and overall I have no major complaints. Their staff definitely needs training but they at least weren't rude or anything… just very inexperienced.

They have an indoor pool but it is right in the main hall so everyone stops and watches you through the windows! Kinda weird! They have 4 different lounges so… very loud obnoxious guests in the middle of the night. They have room service but no menu except what is hanging on the wall downstairs, with no prices on it. They also have a snack room with microwavable soups and ice cream but no plastic spoons! The good side… it is pet friendly!

The building interior is extremely elegant and comfortable, upon arrival to the room (King Club) everything was neat and cleaned completely, beautiful room layout and furnishings, gorgeous bathroom yet quite small. Balcony view was not very great for the room we had, but others definitely had a nicer view. The club room is very chic, comfortable and elegant but no evening hors d'oeuvres that we noticed nor continental breakfast. We did not take advantage of any of the extras such as the fitness center or pool, but they looked very up to date. Overall a fantastic stay, will return but without the club room.

It is 34 degrees outside and we have NO HEAT in our room. We are here for my daughters volleyball tournament and it is 11 pm and we still have no heat. We are sitting here SHIVERING in our coats! I have called repeatedly and been told someone is coming to check it out each time. I wait 30 minutes, no one comes and I call again. Finally, I just talked to a manager who assured me she will get someone up here. We'll see I guess. I just noticed in reading the reviews that rhere have been many, many complaints about the heat. I saw one from 2 months ago where management replied they would look into the issue. I guess that did not happen. Also, no blow dryer. Front desk said housekeeping did not have any extras. I just assumed a hotel like this would have a blow dryer in the room. Had to go to Target and buy one. I am a preferred member and would have expected more from Sheraton. Update: someone just came and fixed it. They had to go up in the ceiling. We were supposed to be in bed early for the games tomorrow but that obviously didn't happen. Hoping the room will warm up soon. Not even an offer to comp anything — — just a sorry, we'll get someone up there this time. This is ridiculous!

I visited the Sheraton for the first time yesterday while attending the orientation for Carilion Clinic. I must applauded the staff who were amazing. The food they served us was outstanding. The place overall was very clean and well kept. I was very impressed and enjoyed my experience.

We stayed here the weekend we got engaged. The rooms and balconies were beautiful. The hot tub was out of order but the heated pool was still nice. Check out was at 12 so we got to take our time. The only thing that was a little disappointing was breakfast. They have a breakfast bar that is awesome but still not worth the $15 per person tab. Other than that we had a great time.

My problem started from the beginning. Reservation was not fun I had a person who English was so broken we had a hard time understanding each other. She was a sweet patient person but because of the trouble we had of understanding each other my reservation was messed up. I called back 2 hours later to make sure it was ok and it took them forever to find it because all the information she took was wrong. The lady was nice enough and fixed it. Then the day came that we were waiting for. We had gotten a nice room with a living room attached and int this living room 2 fold out couches. The theory was nice the room had some nice wood work bathroom was large. The heating was horrible it was so cold we froze. We had the heat turned as high as it could go and we froze. Than while we were there I began to pull of the pillows to the sleeper sofa Wich was badly worn as the carpet and the other couch. I found socks, silverware and much more goodies. I than told the front desk that we needed extra towels because there was 4 of us and 2 change of sheets and bedding when I took down some of what was found. When my husband came back up we only received 1 set of sheets. To too it off the bedding had yellow pee stains on it. While were sitting down my dog bough us a present from the bedroom a black hair extensions. By this time no me of us wanted to sleep in a nasty place as this. When I was asked the next day about my stay I explained the horrors of the night.

I've stayed at the Sheraton many times in the past however this time I was there for a social event in one of the banquet rooms. Not contrary to my previous experiences all aspects of this event (handled by the hotel) were top notch. Food service, including the food itself, station service and those working the floor were wonderful. Very attentive and the food was delicious. Though I did not drink, those who did described the bar service on a high note. It's also nice to have a dedicated entrance to the banquet side of the building as opposed to navigating the entire hotel for an event. Overall I'm very pleased with the experience and would happily attend events here in the future.

When the only good things to say about a hotel are the restaurant and staff at the front desk. The room was a nice size. Poor heat, very poor house keeping. They left toiletries that belonged to the previous occupant, didn't clean the furniture other than wipe it down, left a bath towel instead of several. Room needs to be cleaned by Stanley or someone like them. Carpet and furniture. The club lounge is a nice touch that is not handled or managed well at all.

Nice rooms, and really superb staff. Rooms were updated with a "light touch" renovation a few years ago, and while they're not as new as some Sheraton properties, they are comfortable enough. The staff here really shine, however. They were very gracious to me when I needed help retrieving a lost item, and went above and beyond for me. During check-in, they did their very best to juggle several arriving guests, handle a guest problem, and address their constantly-ringing phone, all with a smile. The location isn't the absolute best, but it's a quick drive from anywhere I needed to be, so I'll definitely be returning.

I am in the Salem High School Jazz Band and I played for the Stagg Bowl dinner they held recently. All of the staff was very very nice and extremely helpful. Whether it was helping us with our equipment or just giving us directions. They were truly exceptional. I would go back any day, I really enjoyed the time I spent there.

I think they try. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and fairly nice. Their fitness center was awesome. Overal the whole facility was nice, but the carpet was worn in the room and travel ways. No microwave in the room. Had to walk a considerable distance from my room to my car. No free breakfast, but they do offer breakfast for a cost. Kind of pricey though. Nice restaurant with good food and reasonable prices for dinner and lunch.

Beautiful Place, Nestled behind the trees. Be sure to talk to their staff member Xavier, He is the definition of customer service, and the hotel staff was as friendly and hospitable as I've ever seen in my 34 years. I will be returning, hopefully again in the fall, with my wife for the beautiful colors surrounding the hotel.

My husband asked for a nice room for me and a girlfriend when he made the reservation for us. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into our luxury suite! It was very lovely and had everything we needed. Two rooms, plus a dining area, a large bathroom and a kitchenette. The staff were all very friendly and courteous. There is also a nice indoor and outdoor pool and a hot tub. I will definately go back!

A little trouble checking in that could have been avoided if the reservation had been look over carefully by the hotel, however, they eventually got it straight and got us checked in. The room was nicely appointed and clean. Robes were requested but unavailable, however, we were able to get the crib and extra towels. Breakfast was pretty good, but if you're not a club member you have to pay and it's $15 per person, for a continental breakfast. Checking out was easy and the bell hop was extremely friendly. Really great location in a nice area and easy to find.

The facility's carpets are old and desperately need updating. In fact, if they were just vacuumed from time to time it would help. The room we stayed in for 3 days was kept clean, but the common areas such as the hallways were filthy. The carpets are stretched and have waves in them. The windows are huge and the view from our window was of a few great trees, but they were just filthy. The gym is pretty nice but a little stuffy so ceiling fans would really help. Indoor and outdoor pools are nice. My only real complaint is the lack of cleaning. It is so obvious that they don't vacuum daily and with the foot traffic that is crazy.

Nice hotel with good amenities and in a good location but horrid layout of the hotel. It's a trek to the elevator and then an equally long journey to my room (429). Checked in last night and as of this evening (about 24 hours) the Wi-Fi is still out. No free breakfast as they want you to go spend $10 on pancakes in their in house restaurant. Pictures are a little misleading online as it looks like the rooms have a balcony but they do not. In our room with double beds, instead of the TV being in the center of the room it is straight across from the far bed in the room making it inconvenient to see from the other bed because the mount doesn't tilt or turn out from the wall. Small bathroom but decent water pressure. AC works well, beds are comfortable. This was unfortunately a few down on my list of places I wanted to stay but everywhere else that wasn't a hole in the wall was booked solid. This hotel will move further down my list of places to stay in Roanoke and will only be in case of an emergency.

The rooms are pretty large, with big view windows (at least for us it was that way). Nice view of the mountains. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was very clean. Housekeeping very friendly. However, our carpet was clearly stained and felt kind of grimy. The a/c wasn't in our control and could have been a bit cooler. The hallways feel too hot and look dark and dated. The restaurant was nice and the food was delicious. We skipped the $14 breakfast buffet and saved money eating elsewhere. Nice staff overall.

Very nice building, good amenities and pleasant staff. I enjoyed the fitness center and the indoor pool looked to be enjoyable. They have a spacious lounge area near the lobby, good for meeting up. The restaurant is a decent chain type steakhouse. It was pretty clean throughout. I'd definitely stay again.

Hotel pluses: great location, friendly staff, clean rooms, large rooms, tons of amenities. Hotel negative: A ton of rude guests that are loud until all hours of the night. Also, love that it is pet friendly!

Nice-ish room. The layout of our bathroom was odd. Their workout room was great and they have free Wi-Fi. I did like their tiny koi pond.

Enjoyable place to stay at, the room was comfortable, atmosphere of the lobby and rooms was solid. There are plenty of amenities from a good fitness center, to indoor and outdoor pools (with cool LED lighting). The only negative was the same as others have, ripped and torn furniture in the rooms. Overall it was good, checking in and out was quick and the staff was friendly both in recommending local places to eat as well as routine business.

This was certainly one of the better deals we've gotten through Hotwire. The room seemed to be the reject room, with stained carpet and a chair with rips in it, but the shower was nice, bed large and comfy, nice pool/tub, and friendly staff. There's two pools, a larger one outdoors and a smaller one paired with the hot tub inside.

This hotel is a little different than other Sheraton hotels I've stayed at. First, I usually get access to the club lounge with my SPG status; however, not at this hotel. The other Sheraton hotels I've stayed at have ice and vending on all floors. This hotel only has ice and vending on the first floor. A lamp was broken in our room. Otherwise, the hotel is unique and comfortable. Our room was more spacious than average and adequately clean. The staff is more friendly than average and effective and helpful.

Unfortunately, this old hotel just really needs to be torn down. Sheraton has come in after Wyndham abandoned this property (and Marriott ages ago) and done a marginal job fixing up this hotel. The rooms are decent albeit extremely noisy (hallway noise and excessive noise coming through adjoining room pass thru doors). The leatherette skinned chair had its leatherette molting and peeling in multiple places (photo below, for mobile users) and the pillow and bed linens were cheap and of poor quality. The nicest piece of furniture in the room was the Herman Miller task chair. Everything else was just sad. The staff at check-in are very nice but not doesn't make up for the rest of the property. The hotel gym looked larger than the typical hotel but I never actually use hotel gyms because they're usually so inadequate. An on the go business person would definitely appreciate the gym in most cases though. The parking lot is riddled with potholes and loose gravel. It is absolutely not in keeping with the theme that any Sheraton property goes for.

I stayed at the Roanoke Sheraton for one night for a business trip to the Roanoke area. The common spaces in the hotel were adequate, but there were several things that kept me from giving a score higher than 3-stars. The first was the quality of my room — the leather chair, the one they advertise you should "relax" in, was really old and the fake leather on the chair was peeling off. The second was the fact that my bathroom shower wasn't cleaned very well. There was clear mold in between the shower tiles. Ick. The third is that the breakfast I paid almost $30 more was absolutely not worth it. I had some cheerios and a yogurt and didn't feel like I could touch anything else. The eggs were liquidy and everything else either required sugary syrup (french toast) or was really greasy (bacon, sausage). My waiter was very kind however. This was an okay experience, but I would seek out another hotel next time.

I went to the Sheraton for my school's Prom and it was fantastic. I only got to go through the ball room but it very nice. Very open and fun environment. Catering was alright. Lemon squares were bomb. It was a fun night. If you're going to have your prom hosted there then it should be a night to remember. Just get there early or you will then get a parking spot.

The facility and service were very good. The fresh fruit on the breakfast buffet was excellent but the bakery products had an unpleasant artificial flavor. The biggest issue was the difficulty leaving the hotel due to poor traffic routing.

The room was very nice. The bathroom was small. Customer service was great.

The only thing I would like to have in the room is a good microwave. When you have leftovers and you want to eat it the next day, you can't heat it up. Room is great in size and comfort… I just wanted a microwave.

Great stay. Helpful staff. The room was roomy and well-appointed. Didn't use the pool or fitness facilities, but they looked to be top notch.

I found a great deal on the room. It has been a great find. Not only has it been very affordable, but the room is spacious and the bed is very comfortable. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. They have one of the best gyms that I have seen in a hotel. The only drawback has been some of the other guests, which of course, the hotel cannot be responsible. I was surprised to see so many guests with dogs. I am a pet lover but was surprised that people brought their dog to the pool and let it drink from the pool. It was unpleasant to step off the elevator and have a dog lunge at me. People were smoking in the wrong areas. All in all though, it was a worthwhile stay. I recommend it.

Hotel is very nice and well located, specially if you are just a travellers passing by. Easy access, clean rooms and excellent staff. We booked for one night only but we decided to extend it for 2 night since the hotel was great and we found close by attractions to go (check McAfee Knob hiking trail and Dismall Falls). The hotel have a good gym and a great pool and if you forgot something (small items) the staff will be happy to provide it for you as complimentary to your stay or provide info where to buy it. I highly recommend the Sheraton hotel and conference center for you next stay in Roanoke.

This was not the first time I had stayed in this hotel, in fact it had been our favorite as a roadtrip stop, but after this experience… never again. First, the hotel charged the wrong price from what was agreed on this website. Next, we arrive in the room and it was dusty and the shower was quite moldy. Too tired to ask to switch rooms since we arrived late, we got ready for bed. Around 11 pm we noticed the noisy neighbors. We assumed they would sleep soon so we let it be. However in this hotel you can hear every single noise in the room that yours is connected to. Every. Single. Noise. I heard them crack open beer, I heard every word spoken clearly, and unfortunately the sound of their skin slapping together. At some point they had a friend in their room and they were just talking louder and louder. I called the front desk to complain about the loud neighbors and they said they would check on that room. I apologized for being a bother. Silly me! They never went in to check, I know this because as I said I heard every single sound from the room next door. The noise continued until approximately 4 am, at which point I finally was able to fall asleep without constant noise from next door. I was abruptly woken up around 8:15 am by the sound of the housekeeping staff banging on the neighboring doors. I got up and opened the mini fridge to eat my breakfast and realized that the fridge was broken.
