Resort

Stayed in 2 bedroom with King and two twin beds. Lodging located on bottom level which had a extra room (sun room). Accommodations were comfortable. In order to avoid hassle with timeshare, don't bother heading across room to receive "your welcome gift". Requested renovated room but it still feels dated due to the furniture and decor. Noticed towel rack was coming off the wall. Would stay again.

Fun resort/ time share property. Enjoyed having an adult only pool, we were booked into what was supposedly a newer unit but the stove had all the temperatures and burner indicators rubbed off, the hot and cold symbols on the faucets were switched making it a little confusing. It was clean, but we did see a roach (just once) no cookie sheet, thank goodness one of us had brought one! Comfy beds plenty of pillows and extra towels. We enjoyed the game you could sign out and it was centrally located to everything we wanted to do. I would return if I had an opportunity!

This resort was an all around amazing experience. I absolutely loved the setting it was located in, including the scenery and landscaping! The room was absolutely perfect and was lacking nothing. Impeccable service with very prompt and accommodating staff! Will definitely be going back and highly recommend!

3rd year here and we love it. Great place to stay and very clean. 12 golfers in 3 of their 4 bedroom 4 bathroom condos and we all love it. Very clean and convenient to all the courses we play. We definitely will come back.

Great indoor pool today opens at 8am, mini golf, a great playground, beautiful grounds, outdoor pool doesn't open until memorial day, which means we didn't get to use it. I love that the units have washers, dryers, & full kitchens. It was clean & comfy. We had a great time there. Lots of things nearby like duck donuts & restaurants.

This timeshare, which is also available for public rental, has several units that have been upgraded, and is in the process of upgrading the rest. Don't know how long that process is going to take. Some of the upgrades are very nice, some of the workmanship is. Slightly lacking (sink faucet handles so close to the backsplash that you can just get your finger in between the handle and wall. ) Beds are good, new sofa bed is a memory foam segmented mattress on a solid wood platform, which means no more sleeping on a mattress that sags into a support bar. New lamps in the rooms have an electrical outlet in them for chargers. Worth looking at.

A nice, comfortable place to stay. UPDATE: Our next stay, the room was still very comfortable, but 5 of the 6 televisions in our 4 bedroom condo were old box-style TVs, 2 on them being very small. When one pays this kind of price, one expects flat screen TVs, considering it's 2018!

Very nice place to stay. Rooms were nice and clean and kitchen has everything needed for cooking and eating. Has miniature golf, pool, hot tubs and you can fish, so bring your fishing poles! We purchased our stay through Groupon and got a good deal. At check-in we were asked to attend a meeting at some point of our stay regarding share opportunities, but we were not pressured too hard.

Great place. It is clean and nicely landscaped. They are refurbishing the condos and the completed ones are great. The pool and hot tubs are clean and nice however, large busloads of people came in while we were in the pool. We left because it became very crowded and unruly. If the pool and hot tubs were kept simply for the people renting the condos, I would have given it 5 stars. Allowing bus loads of day strippers ruined our fun time with the children in the heated pool. We couldn't return to the pool later, because someone had a biological accident in it and it required cleaning.

I always enjoy this place! Great to come and get peace and quiet. The grounds are beautiful. Wonderful for people with families. Fully equipped with kitchen and washer/dryer. Indoor and outdoor pools and activity center on site. Love this place.

First the Pros — our condo was large, comfortable and very well maintained. The grounds were beautiful and the staff friendly. The Cons — When we arrived to check in there was absolutely no place to park. We had to park in the grass. We were horrified when we walked into the lobby to check in and found a line wrapped around the room. We waited in line for 45 minutes just to check in. Then we were told we had to go wait in another line so they could try to see us a timeshare. The pool has no oversight. There is a 30 person capacity but as I sit here counting there are 52 people in the pool!

This place is spectacular. My husband passed away just before our departure and the management allowed us to stay 2 days extra at no cost to us. This speaks volumes about the management and reflects very positively on Diamond Resorts. We will never use any other resort, we've been owners since 1987.

We keep coming back to this place time and again. Comfortable dwellings. Beautiful, relaxing surroundings to walk around in with some nice ponds to explore. Unique amenities from indoor pool to a Bar and grill as well as a coffee shop and a little cute convenient store. A world all it's own.

Stayed here as a spur of the moment weekend getaway. Used points. Resort is beautiful, room is beautiful, stay was comfortable and exceeded our expectations. Would give 5 stars if we hadn't felt forced to sign up for a "talk" about timeshares. EVERYONE was "requested" to sign up for something. I already own a timeshare and I told them that. That alone got me moved to a different group. To get them to hush, I ended up paying the $20 deposit for the "meeting" & ultimately did not go because this was a small vacation, not for me to sit in a "meeting". In summary, resort & amenities are amazing. The fact that they back you in to a corner for a timeshare talk makes it not worth it.

We were there for a 4-day, 5-night stay. Two major issues: the h-vac units were right outside our first-floor unit bedroom, and they were noisy enough when they ran, to wake us out of sound sleeps (and they ran all night! ) Also, there was no one in the unit above ours for the first four nights, but people were in it on our final night there, and there was a lot of noise transfer from upstairs to downstairs, again, making getting good sleep next to impossible. Other than those issues, the units were roomy and comfortable and well-equipped. The bathroom has double sinks, and the shower-water-pressure was great!

Powhatan Resort has improved greatly since my last visit in fall 2015. The rooms have been updated with new modern furnishings and appliances. It is close to shopping and dining options but be sure to have your mobile GPS providing device charged up if you are not familiar with the area until you get your bearings as you will need the directional assistance. After seeing the updates, this resort is back on our list of locations to vacation.

It is nice but the rooms are a bit old. There was also a lot of queue for check in.

The historic Powhatan Resort by diamonds International is a nice, clean, safe Resort near historic Williamsburg. I stayed in a two bedroom two bathroom unit with a living room, kitchen, and dining room. It came with a washer and dryer and a full kitchen. The resort had plenty of dining and fun activities available for old and young. It's a great family place to stay while visiting a piece of History. I would stay again.

Looking forward to seeing the renovations. It's nice, but the third bedroom is a open loft with twin beds, not ideal for my family (young baby) situation. The kitchen could use upgrading, as could the tubs. The grounds are gorgeous!

It's a wonderful holiday. The only thing that upset me was waiting for the room keys for more than two hours.

As always with Diamond resorts, this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the room and amenities. There was a mini golf course on site! The pool was nice but it was a tad nuisance with the adult only pool. We had a newborn and wasn't allowed there based on the rules. Overall it was great. One good anecdote. We came to a room late one night and both bedrooms’ lights were out. We called and someone came over within minutes and fixed the situation. Very impressive.

Great property with lots of amenities, love the coffee shop! Thoroughly enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. We had a plumbing problem which we called about and was fixed and working within an hour of our arrival but since the unit was cleaned prior to our arrival I wonder why it wasn't fixed before we arrived after the cleaning people saw the problem (tub not draining). The kitchen, although very clean, lacked items (cutting board, sharp knives etc. ) that made preparing meals a challenge. The furniture was extremely worn and very uncomfortable to sit on. Response to inquiries or problems very promp.

Only gave 1 star because the room was clean and location was nice. Other wise I give it 0 stars. When we got there, our room wasn't ready at 4 pm. We had to get a different room then we wanted. Got a room on the first floor instead of the 2nd floor room we paid for. The bed is extremely firm and uncomfortable. The sugar in the room was old and in clumps. And when we asked for more it took them 40 minutes to bring it to our room. When we checked out we were told our $100.00 hold would be put back in our checking account that day. It was not. When I called and asked to speak to a head manager, a lady at the front desk said he was busy and when I told her that he was the only one I wanted to discuss my issues with, she then proceeded to say he was on lunch. There is no organization here and if you need imperative information, go to who ever is in charge. FYI you will NOT receive your hold amount for 3~5 business days. Just so you know.

What should have been a truly relaxing weekend get away, was slightly ruined by other guests in the attached town house. The walls/floors are pretty thin and the noise travelled during the night. However, the amenities provided were wonderful. From providing dishes and cookware in the townhouse to having plenty of activities to do around the facility. I will definitely be returning.

It is a very nice resort space, with a number of activities for the whole family. It is within a reasonable drive of all three towns in the historic triangle with grocery stores within a short drive. One can spend the day out and about and still have plenty to do upon their return to the resort. (Did not do the one hour update tour or timeshare presentation). Overall a very satisfactory stay.

My family and I have gone there several times over the past decade or so. It is always clean and well maintained. My brother accidentally broke the toilet seat and they were very polite and professional about it. We were not charged extra for it! The Bar and Grill on site is delicious with a fantastic bartender. They provide maps of the surrounding area and have a great many activities and sports on site as well. Definitely recommend.

Had nice 3 day stay. Clean, quiet & very spacious. Didn't realize it was a time share & they'd be a sales pitch. If you want to avoid their seminar you can just decline. Otherwise it was an inexpensive yet higher end place to stay.

Great location just south of Williamsburg. Easy access to the highway, shopping, and restaurants. The front desk was very helpful adjusting our reservation to better fit our needs. The two bedroom condo was clean and in good repair. The full kitchen, patio, and large living space were great.

We quedamis 2 nights at the Resort. Our son plays baseball and has 4 games in the area, it's the second year we ospedamos here. I recommend it. The rooms are large and very luxurious. I love it.

Avoid the "welcome packet" and timeshare lecture. Otherwise, great property. Can book it online. Very nice accommodations, great for families. Very close to many local attractions plus lots to do onsite though we spent most our time doing things. Would recommend.

We loved this resort. The room was very spacious and well equipped. The pool facilities include an indoor and outdoor pools with hot tubs. The outdoor facility is divided with a pool and hot tub for guests 18 and older, which is nice for those who wish to get some space from the noise. I will definitely stay here again.

My family and I stayed for seven days. They have great pools, activities, and the property is large. There are grills to use and playgrounds for the kids. There are several places to take great pictures in the gardens or the gazebos. The only drawback was that our room was quite dusty as if it hadn't been occupied or cleaned in some time. The staff are friendly.

GREAT grounds and a very nice resort. All staff I interacted with were extremely friendly. Did not go to on site restaurant but heard it is excellent. Coffee shop was very good and coffee was delicious.

Great place for family fun. Condos are great, pools are perfect, activities are plentiful. Staff is VERY accommodating and friendly. Several MANY "glitches" at check-in that were correct and made right immediately. Have stayed here with a family of 12-16 of us MANY times. Will always be a quick go to vacation spot for us.

Nice, reasonably priced resort. The rooms definitely aren't the nicest I've ever seen, but they are a step up from the Best Western we usually stay at when we're in town. The staff were all friendly. However, be careful! They give an air of security with a front gate. But have no security cameras so they can't can't help if someone breaks the back window of your car in the middle of the night!

Staff was extremely friendly. Amenities were amazing. Room beautiful, very clean, and very well stocked. Grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Love the quaint coffee shop and general store. The bar and grill on the premises has good food and staff was courteous, however blender was broken ao no frozen deinks (not a big deal) and the exhauselt fan made an ungodly loud humming noise throughout dinner. Gave me a headache. Other than that it was great. I give it an 8 out of 10!

Nothing about this place screams "luxury", so if you're used to high end accommodations you should keep looking. However, the rooms were nice enough and accommodated my family of six well enough. The amenities were slightly dated, but were well maintained. No complaints. The staff was friendly and competent. We didn't try the on site restaurant, but the coffee shop was quite good. WARNING — They will pester you when you check in to attend a timeshare seminar. They will also call you each morning. You might want to keep the room phone off the hook during your stay. I have no problem with ONE solicitation. But multiple attempts got annoying. This is my only real complaint about my stay.

Great location, near Colonial Williamsburg, shopping and dining. Nice rooms, spacious. Unfortunately not all the rooms are renovated so it's possible to get a room that is dated and worn. Service is helpful from what I have experienced (activities) but the desk can be pushy about getting you to go to their sale meeting.

I had a great experience at this lovely resort. The unit we stayed in was clean, spacious and well equipped with a beautiful deck and modern kitchen. The resort grounds are well kept with several artificial lakes, miniature golf, gyms, historic buildings walking trail, pools (indoor and out) and many family friendly activities. We didn't require anything so I can't comment on the service but check-in and out went smoothly. I would stay here again.

We just love this place. We were so busy going to water county and busch gardens we didn't have time to enjoy the resort. But we are going to come back and enjoy some day just at the resort. The food was delicious. Room was great and clean. We were even early and they let us check in. We did get to enjoy the pool that day, kids loved it. Everyone we need was right there. We will be going back.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom upstairs unit using Homeaway to book. We were surprised that the unit had one king and one queen bed (we had been promised two beds in the second bedroom for our teenage son and daughter). Fortunately the resort provided a roll-away bed at no charge. The furnishings and amenities were excellent — newly renovated and all supplies you need are included — paper towels, dishwasher detergent, washing machine detergent, etc. ). We were able to avoid the sales pitch by declining the hospitality gift and not responding to the 'important check-out information' call. The pools, free mini-golf, activities, etc. Were excellent. My only reason for not rating this a 5 star was the free but essentially useless wireless Internet. The wireless serving our unit gave a variable quality signal (sometimes 4 bars, sometimes one bar even over the course of a few minutes), However, even when the routers' signal was strong, there was only intermittent Internet access. I finally found a corner of the unit that could hold an active connection for 10-15 minutes but I had to continually reinitialize just to maintain a connection (across laptop, iPhone, and Kindle, so it's not a device specific issue). I'd hoped I could use the connection to attend work-related Webex meetings but this was just not feasible and forget trying to stream Netflix. It was hard enough just to pull up Google to plan your next day's activities.

Based on the reviews I have seen, I say this not to offend anyone, but as an observation, that the 1-star reviews seemed like the writers were "pampered" and "used to resorts". This was my first stay at a resort. I was plesently surprised. I will list what I liked and didn't like about this resort. Likes: *Proximity of amenities (i. E Busch Gardens) *Size of "house" *Three Comfortable and Big Bedrooms *Full kitchen, bathroom, etc. *Livability *Things to do within the resort (mini golf, etc. ) Dislikes: *Price for food (at resturant) *Itchy sheets *Fridge set to ridiculously low temperature *Silverfish found in sister's room *Not enough non-alcoholic drinks at pool bar *Haggling at front desk to buy a condo Otherwise, this was a great resort for the money. I hate this resort. Our unit was roach infested and the property manager did nothing about it to compensate my family for our troubles. I would stay away from this place, especially bldg. 33, unit 113C. Just as many reviewers stated, they pressure you to buy their timeshares, waking you up every morning to attend a presentation. Secondly, they charge you a $10/day amenities fee which includes a horrible Wi-Fi signal. Stay away from this resort like it's the plague.

Very nice place, staff is really friendly. House is lovely however the Wi-Fi is utter garbage and does not work in the houses.

I am making it a point to make a review for this resort. I had such an incredible time with my family at the resort and I can't wait to do it all over again next year. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The unit we stayed in which was a 2bd condo (1 king, 1 queen, w/d, 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, etc) was more than spacious to accommodate myself, my husband, our 2 kids and my mother. I didn't even realize all of the amenities the resort came with. The pools were fantastic. 4 pools altogether if you count the little toddler pool that's ankle deep (perfect for very little ones). The mini golf was great! My husband and I had a lot of fun just doing that. Next time we come, we'd love to do more exploring at the resort like bike riding and what not! Highly recommended place to stay with your family on vacation!

Horrible service and treatment! We had over 50 rooms booked for the Challenge Series races and they made us pack up and checkout at 4:30am, before the race. No late checkout, and since this is a 70.3 distance race. No time to get back. Manager Marissa spoke policy and could care less that this was listed as a featured hotel through the race director. Next complaint is being directed at anyone involved in the planning as this resort needs to be taken off the list for next year. Never again will I stay at this place and really disappointed that the manager couldn't think outside of her policy book.

We are currently staying here in a two bedroom unit. Love it! Very newly renovated and awesome! The only complaint I have is that the walls are quite thin. Location is perfect. Off the beaten path but still close to everything. Staff has been extremely friendly. Ghost tour was really cool. Very little pressure to do the time share thing. Not pestered at all during the week. I highly recommend this resort.

NO, NO, NO… I WANT A REFUND! We had a doubtful experience from the start. We booked a deluxe unit with a hot tub in the unit thinking we were going to be in for a nice stay. First, the ice maker in the freezer malfunctioned, and ran water in the freezer all night, resulting in a big block of ice in the bin and the bottom of the freezer. Then, the sound of the neighbors above us' footsteps loudly reverberated our ceiling to where we thought they were purposefully stomping on the floor. We called the front desk twice the first day, and were told security would be down to check into it. Nothing. The next day we called again, asking to be moved to another unit. We were told that the building was built before certain codes, and as a result it sounds the way it does now. They said there were no other deluxe units available and we would be downgraded, and would have to pay an additional cleaning fee for our 1 day stay (IN ADDITION TO THE MAINTENANCE FEES WE ALREADY PAY YEARLY WHICH COVERS CLEANING OF THE UNITS). We chose to bite the bullet and stay. Well, several days later, our assigned space was taken so we took another space in front of the units. Security showed up and asked me to move. I asked them where were they a couple of days ago for our noise complaint and they said they did not get that call. I called the manager about the whole debacle and asked about Stephen J. Cloobeck's Yes philosophy, and she gave me an 800# to complain to. Really.

We have stayed here several times. Most units are roomy and fairly up to date. The casual bar and grill is nice. October is beautiful here. Easy check-in and out.

This was about the ONLY RCI property my family could use our Points on. Without having to buy a flight to another country or unreachable distances in the US (we are in Michigan). The drive to Virginia wasn't too bad, even though we had a snowstorm. We visited Williamsburg at Christmas, arriving the day after and staying until Jan 3! So we got to do New Years with the WmB folks! Powhatan is clean, easy to get to, the indoor pool was a bit too warm, but nice. We "moved in" to the condo and enjoyed the high end furnishings and comfy beds. We tend to cook in more than we eat out, so the kitchen was nice to have. We recommend the Powhatan if you want to visit this amazing town. About Williamsburg: My two boys had a blast! And I am a fanboy for American History! So just walking around with the "reenactors" made me feel woozy. These aren't part-time locals dressing up in costumes. They WERE the early founders and pioneers from the Williamsburg of 1700's. My kids played quoits with James Madison, for pete's sake! We talked to a weaver, apothecary, bookbinder, blacksmith, tavern keeper and armorer — all in one day! What a way to soak up our amazing historical past! We even liked the Welcome Center! Go see the two films (in one, I saw an early version of actress Kristen Bell, before her star rose) and enjoy the book/gift shop.

I stayed at this resort at least 10 times. It is not uncommon for things to be a little askew. I am not an owner but a family member is. I always get a great deal here. That being said only major complaint I have are the couches. Even in the newly renovated units. I am constantly fixing the cushions. Who ever ordered these new ones should be fired. I don't think I could find a more uncomfortable couch anywhere. Other than that we love the place.

The unit we had was clean and well-furnished — and big! The kitchen was a tad dated, but overall it was a good experience! Two bedrooms, two bathrooms for a great price — and the location is good — just minutes away from Merchant's square or the outlets. As one reviewer said, after checking in, skip the "concierge" package or any other package they try to guide you to unless you want to listen to their timeshare spiel. We skipped it without issue. One quirky thing is that the coffee pot was missing the carafe. Which wasn't the quirky part. The quirky part was that the instructions specifically said that the pot didn't need the carafe! It's a standard 12-cup coffee maker — how are you supposed to get the coffee, then? There were no further instructions on that. Lol. I called the front desk and they sent over a brand new one still in the box.

I don't understand a lot of the bad ratings I see about this place. These ratings must be coming from seriously high maintained people. Saw something about the Wi-Fi costing money. Not true. Sales pitch? We had the option to talk to the concierge when we checked out but I didn't want to so I didn't approach them (they QUICKLY called before we left our room to ask). People saying their rooms were dirty and outdated. Ours was impeccable. We had so much room, and everything was so nice. Mind you that we stayed on a off season weekend and we didn't spend a lot on this place, but it feels like we did from how beautiful this place is! Huge, gorgeous property with a ton of amenities (gym, pool, indoor pool, general store, etc). We loved our stay and will absolutely recommend this place to everyone. My only nitpick is that the beds weren't that comfortable and you can constantly hear the service people driving by at 8am (it's so quiet you can hear everything), but there's not really anything you can do about that! We will definitely be returning here when we come to Williamsburg again.

I recently visited this resort with my parents for a week. I would have given it 5 stars except for the high pressure sales pitch which left my parents pretty upset and left a bad feeling, also the gift card they were suppose to get was not given for the full amount as they were not only told but it was on paper. That being said the Historic Powhatan Resort was a wonderful place to stay. The grounds were beautiful and the room was too. I read complaints about "80's" TV set but the television in the living room was very up to date and the ones in the bedroom were not as new but were totally functional and worked fine. We had a few minor issues one with Wifi and the other Heat, but the resort addressed them immediately and solved the problems. The Activities department was Awesome and so accommodating. There is enough to keep you busy right at the resort that you really don't have to go anywhere else. If I knew I could go back and not have the sales pressure I would go back without hesitation.

Spent a long weekend here through our RCI membership. Unit wasn't terribly great, furniture outdated, small 1980's TV in the master bedroom; couch in living room extremely old and uncomfortable; master bed was like sleeping on concrete. Wasn't dirty per say but there were lots of spots that needed fixing, i. E. Broken bottom of cabinets, huge spackled spot in bathroom shower stall which was unsightly; paint on windows, etc. Resort grounds were beautiful, staff appeared friendly, we refused the timeshare presentation which was accepted begrudgingly but accepted nonetheless. Overall won't stay here again but we loved the location as it was close to everything we came to Williamsburg to do. Beware of extra fees. We were charged ($11/day) for 7 days even though we checked out after 2 nights (and told we wouldn't be) so I am in the process of recouping these. Definitely not a typical RCI experience for us so that's disappointing. Won't stay here again because as RCI members, we expect and usually receive excellent accommodations.

Terrible experience checking in. They charge you a ten dollar fee for Wi-Fi that there own brochure says is free. Rooms are sorely in need of renovation. There are holes in carpet, cobwebs on ceiling and paint chipping in bathroom. I forgot the whole in the couch. AC unit very noisy and kept me up at nite. Wasted half a day at a timeshare presentation and they didn't come across with the gifts promised. Beware the powhatan resort is a dump.
