We picked the Founders Inn for an eight person work dinner. In short, it was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The long version: We arrived at 7pm. Our water glasses were filled at 7:20 when we met our server for the first time. We asked for drink menus as we were looking at the dinner menu. The drink menus came at 7:40, when we ordered our dinner. The drinks came at 8pm. At 8:20, 40 minutes after we ordered our food, the server informed us that the appetizer most of us ordered was no longer available so we ordered other items. At 8:40 I got up to ask the hostess if bread was complimentary and her response was, "You haven't gotten any bread yet? " The appetizers came out over a 15 minute period around 8:50. At 9:15 three of the eight people got their main courses. My wife's steak was cool and it took another 20 minutes for the rest of the entrées to come out. A coworker ordered the lamp chops only to find that they were completely raw inside. He sent it back and they gave him a new plate around 9:45, but at this point he was too worried to eat them. Throughout the dinner, several of us had to get up and go find the server and hostess to be served. There was only four other parties there when we were there. We saw 4-5 servers, 2-3 people in the kitchen and the hostess working that evening. They seemed to not care at all about service. One of the times I was up finding service, another woman from one of the four parties was up asking for service as well. The only upside to this night was that they gave us everything for free. Even after it being free, I cannot give them more than one star. For an average of $30 an entrée, the Founders Inn should be ashamed. If it wasn't for the company, the night would have been a complete waste. As the planner for the event, I was completely embarrassed. If you are looking for a good place to go on a date, night out, work event, etc, I'd recommend you look elsewhere.
