About what you would expect from an Econolodge. Some are nice, some are not. This one is a bit in the middle.

Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room, the bathroom especially. Good cable and strong Wi-Fi. Not luxurious, but comfortable and clean.

I checked in at 2:00am. There was someone at the desk to greet me. Everything was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. I slept well.

The place lived up to the rating as a two-star hotel. We checked in and weren’t told we were receiving a smoking room and it reaked of cigarettes. The bedding had stains and burn holes in it. When we asked for extra towels up front, they didn’t even have enough. The bathroom fan made a super loud weird noise, so we didn’t use the light in the bathroom when we showered. The bathroom area was surprisingly really nice and it made me wonder why they spent so much money on the bathroom and not the ruined bedding. The TV had very limited channels and pretty bad signal. The beds, however, were pretty comfortable. Parking is limited. Free Wi-Fi though!

A very good place to stay overnight! Nice updated rooms. When checkin front desk was very helpful with full knowledge of adventure activities and tourists place in town. A/C was on when we entered into our room since weather was so hot outside. They care for guest needs. I'll definelty visit again if travel from same area! Most wonderful stay ever.

This was a conveniently placed and awesomely priced motel. The rooms were very very clean and the staff was nice. There was also breakfast.

Unfortunately I was unable to stay at Econo Lodge. What I am reviewing on is the superb customer service that was provided to me. I had booked my reservation and due to a cancelled flight I was unable to visit and stay at the hotel, however, every time I called to inform the front desk of the delay in my arrival and ultimately cancellation of my reservation, they were very understanding. The manager, Pinky, called me the following day to see how she could help rectify the issue. I would recommend this hotel based on customer service alone.

Checked in and after seeing the room immediately checked out. Most disgusting hotel I have ever seen.

Worst stay! Awful room, smell, breakfast area is world smallest, only two 2 person tables, simplest: one kind of tiny muffin, bread and bagel, two kinds of cereal, milk and orange juice, coffee, you eat right in front of their receptionist with Big cold AC wind. All night noisy from upstairs, and traffic surrounding, highest and cheapest pillows, uncomfortable bed and room, but cost the same as other good hotel.

Forget the room, you get breakfast at the adjoining restaurant along with a 10% discount on other meals, there burger was amazing along with the children's spaghetti.

WATCH OUT! Thieves! Do not leave anything in your room that you ever want to see again. Aside from that, cleanliness isn't exactly Thier fortay either. I had a several day stay and had to clean the toilet the first day I was here, and trash was left in the room upon my return… Their only strong point, is that I never actually saw any infestation of rats, or roaches. Also fixtures are not all attached, sink wabbles around and is not sealed to counter, and air return was hanging from its screw.

I tried calling their phone number. After a few rings, it went to a full voicemail. I redialed about ten times before someone finally answered. I was calling to find out about amenities in the room. Each room has a microwave and refrigerator even though it does not say that on their website. They need a better phone system!

This is the worst place I have every experience the management was very rude, the rooms smelled and the linen had cigarettes burns on them and I ask for a none smoking room, the front desk person showed me the room and I refused to stay after booking the room with priceline. I did not stay there and priceline and holtel management refused to give me a refund.

Staff was so extremely friendly and attentive to my every need! great location and clean rooms and quiet place!

Wonderful owners and employees. Always accommodate our company if any possible way to do so. Very friendly, auto book our rooms for us to make ensure they dont sell out before our stay is made. Great place!

My Daughter and I traveled to Charolettesville for a concert last night Jan 31, 2018. I searched for the lowest cost motel rooms because we are on a tight budget. Econo was the cheapest so I booked a room using the Choice motel app. Upon arriving I was told all reservations had already checked in. So I should the dishonest owner my confirmation email and thy changed the story to thy tried to run the card I made the reservation with and it was declined so thy cancelled my reservation. First of all the card is only used to reserve the room an no charges are to be charged until I check in per the Choice Motel policy. I called Choice to make a formal complaint and will update when thy get back to me. The Indian couple who own this motel are dishonest liers!

I missed my reserved time due to a hospital emergency. I called them BK to try and have the room this week so I could continue with my cancer treatment. He said my words I did not receive money directly from you. Expedia owes you. And since we kept the room open for you we where out of money. Well where you full no. We are keeping the money that Expedia sent us. But I did not stay. Well prove I Econo lodge took you money. I love Charlottesville. I truly hope if anyone has a love one getting or has received treatment do not give this jerk your money. He truly only cared about money screw the human behind it.

Great hotel room, everything was clean and new. Parking lot is well lit and staff at the front desk are very courteous.

The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The are isnt the nicest part of Charlottesville but its cheap so you get what you pay for.

I stayed here 2 years ago and it was nice, but this time wasn't the case. They had a phone in the room, but there wasn't a phone cord attached, the so called blanket had obvious holes, the TV didn't have a clear picture and not many channels and NO coffee machine. So not worth $85!

This is not your family accommodations. Dirty, worn mattresses, they do not even use fitted sheets on their beds, the flat sheet comes off so easily while sitting on the bed, leaving you on a dirty mattress covering. Plus side, clean showers, but stinky shower curtains.

When I initially booked the room, there was no indication on the reservation that we had booked a smoking room. By the time we had realized it, the hotel was sold out and the staff were unable to switch us to a different room. While we were checking in, another guest came to the lobby to complain about the cockroaches in his room. My partner has asthma, and both cigarette smoke and pests are triggers. It was incredibly disappointing to get to the room, which reeked of stale cigarette smoke, and know that we had spent over $100 per night to stay in such conditions. We went and bought multiple kinds of Febreze to try and make the room habitable, and there was minimal effect. We woke up the next morning and found burn holes in the curtain, in the comforter, and even in the carpet. The shower had virtually no water pressure and no comfortable temperature. Also the rusty vent above the shower was very off putting. The staff came and cleaned our room, and left the curtains open, which to me was very unsettling, as it made our belongings clearly visible to anyone else walking by. We came home and found that literally all of our belongings still have the smell of stale cigarette smokes clinging to them. Like I said, we spent over $100 per night to stay in this Econolodge — I do not think that I received even half of that value during our stay.

Found someone else's nose ring in the bed, bugs and hair in the shower, could hear everything in everyone else's room. Only plus was location… price was decent.

It's a bed! A place to lay your head. The mattress was hard for my liking. Not the best furniture since the chairs in our room are the stackable plastic and steel chairs from high school. It's far enough off the road to be quiet but the walls and floors are thin.

Relatively clean, relatively cheap. VERY nice family running the place. Don't expect much from the breakfast. Easy access to highways and not bad from airport. You might want to look elsewhere even if you have to pay a couple of dollars a night more. NOT up to Econo Lodge usual standards.

Better than I would have expected for a 2 star hotel. The decor is a bit dated, but the bathroom looks recently renovated. The room was clean, the bed soft, and the TV channel selection was adequate. And I speed tested the internet and got 40 down and 12 up.

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the kindness of the staff. We had a "no smoking" King: It was ready for check in right a 2pm! The bathrooms were in good shape and other than just standard wear and tear from time, we thought the room was perfectly sufficient for a weekend stay. We felt safe in the area. There were 3-4 other hotels in the exact same area that all had higher price points for rooms. We didn't hear too much ambient noise, and the A/C was fantastic! Breakfast was simple fare, but it was exactly what we wanted in the morning. Bagels, cereal, coffee, OJ, muffins and fresh fruit. There was a toaster and condiments provided. Also we had a nice sized fridge in our room with a decent microwave. We would definitely stay here again.

Just checked in. Room seems clean enough. Haven't slept yet. Hoping for a quiet stay. Was upgraded to a non-smoking room even before we checked in, so that was a bonus.

My grandkids and I was very pleased with our room. The room was clean, no bad orders and the staff was helpful in every way. The price got right into my budget. I would most definitely stay there again.

The management and staff are amazing here. Super helpful and friendly. It's not a fancy hotel but clean sheets to rest your body after a long day. Only 2 miles from UVA hospital. This is my third stay here and would stay again if in the area.

The Charlottesville location, despite having reviews claiming to offer a clean room, greeted us with stained towels and splattered walls. Our expectations were low, considering the price, but don't expect a bargain. You get what you pay for.

The rooms weren't worth the price. Although they weren't horrible but I feel like the price isn't worth it.

I got in pretty late so didn't do a lot except sleep. It was a comfortable enough stay and the staff was friendly. Parking is a bit tight.

The room had a television, microwave, refrigerator and coffee machine. The non smoking room smelled heavily of smoke. Overall stay was adequate other than the aforementioned odor.

We have stayed here several times and its always been good.

Easy check-in and friendly staff. The room was a little dirty but I wasn't expecting too much. It was great for a quick overnight stay.

Nasty rooms shower had hair in drain. Paint or coating on tub has peeled. Bed sucks to high of pricing for a dump.

Good customer service, but the hotel is in dire need of renovations. We got a king-size room for two. In-sweet fridge didn't work, grout in the bathtub was mouldy and tub didn't drain well, could hear every other client showering. Continental breakfast consisted of cereal and bagels — left a lot to be desired. We will not come back ever again. We paid $77 for that excuse for a room.

It was my fault at first to not book a non smoking room first, so I can't complain about the extremely heavy smoke smell when entering the room. That was all my fault for being a novice thinking that all rooms are non smoking or at least they air freshen the place afterwards. The room size was fine, but the fact that there is no air flow really, the bathroom has a vent which possibly captures air, but no fan vent. The inside room has no way of air circulation, can't even open a window. I was at an Econo Lodge before in upsate NY in Ithaca and the place was much better. This was more of a motel rather than hotel. I remember in Ithaca they at least had updated windows to open, here they're nailed shut, at least my room was. I couldn't understand with no vents and open things why there was a presence of these tree bugs in the room. I see them where I'm from but I don't know what type of bug they are. They go towards the lights like moths and just lay around mostly. We had to capture about four of them and throw them out the door, couldn't stand their presence really in the room. They fly around and have the weight of a beetle, so it would be uncomfortable to have one of those in your face while waking up. There was one cockroach, so that was a downer. It's possible that the vent that's not really being used in the bathroom is an open source hole for critters as well as other possible areas. This place needs a renovation or something to update it to normal standards.
