This place is pretty much like paradise, everywhere you look is blue skies 85° in palm trees there's multiple hot tubs and pools and the ocean is but a short walk away.

It a very clean and well kept resort. It is just far enough out of town and the crowds but close enough to get there when you want the restaurants, etc.

Beautiful views, quiet atmosphere. Friendly staff. Clean, updated, spacious rooms with lanai.

We had a great family vacation while staying at your resort! Great service and courteous staff.

Even though only the pool is open and all other activities are not available it was a very nice relaxing stay. The staff is very friendly. I’ll definitely come here again.

What an amazing place to stay! You definitely get your money's worth here! It's a bit far away from downtown but still the rooms are spacious, the amenities are very good, staff is friendly and helpful, and the food and drinks are great!

Awesome Resort to kick back and relax.

Very nice resort. The room we stayed in had been remodeled and was a very nice size with full kitchen. The main pool and bar area was wonderful. Only drawback is the location from the beach/ocean. You can’t see it from much of the resort and there is no easy access. However it is just a short drive away.

Great place! We spent a week and enjoyed every minute!

Nice place. Relatively Clean. Minor pest problem but overall a non issue for most people. Rooms are spacious. Staff were pretty attentive. Strength gym is lackluster though. A pull-up/dip station would have been cool. But that's a minor complaint. Still a good stay!

Stayed here for three days in August 2018. My in-laws have a timeshare and reserved the two bedroom, penthouse 3. This penthouse doesn't have a lanai directly facing the ocean, but other than that, it's very nice. It had everything we needed and was fully stocked and furnished. The facilities here and nice and it has a pool and exercise room. I would have liked some weights in the exercise room, but all they had was cardio equipment. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed our stay.

This resort is nice, a little outdated. We had some trouble checking in, however one of the front desk attendants was very respectful and understanding. The views of the ocean are gorgeous, right on a golf course. The rooms are spacious, very roomy. Again, parts are outdated, but not really important. One of our drains in the shower is clogged, needed to call someone to take a look, and the shower doors stick quite a bit. The bed is extremely comfortable and has a balcony right off the master bed. It's a nice place to relax and is a great home base for out activities on the island for the week.

The spacious suite was nice and very clean. Loved that it had a full kitchen, washer and dryer. Only downside was the kid friendly pool was across the resort, while the pool outside our room was a quiet pool, so we couldn't use it with kids and we felt like we couldn't talk outside on the balcony because of the proximity to the quiet pool. Would definitely stay there again and request a room by the kid pool.

We had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were clean. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. I appreciated the follow up calls to make sure we got what was requested. The facilities are awesome and the grounds are beautiful. Perfect for those Kona sunsets! Would definitely stay here again!

I love the Kona Coast. Quite Timeshare great Swimming pool. Restaurant is nice with live music. Close enough to Downtown Kona but far enough away to have a peaceful visit. Kona Big Island my favorite place. I want to live there.

If you're looking for a traditional resort that puts your away from most other amenities, this is a good option. Not a great option if you're looking to stay in a spot that close to other restaurants and whatnot. Rooms are fairly nice, though we had some sounds from the heating or water that kept us up a little. Staff was very warm and helpful, which I appreciate. If you want to come to a spot where you don't want to worry about planning anything else, it's a good option as they have connections to some activities, though I can't give an opinion of the quality of those activities as we mostly planned our own stuff.

Booked a week at this resort for spring break. While the resort itself is beautiful and the grounds are well kept, the 2 bedroom villa in phase 1 we occupied did not match up to my expectations. The condo size units are very spacious and feature a comfortable floor plan, but the closets however, and other parts of our accommodations had the odor of urine. I thought the a/c fee of $10. Per day was a joke, as we already pay extremely high maintenance fees every year to maintain the properties. It was not. The staff are very nice and I might return if the units are cleaned properly. Many things to do here and great for all ages! We opted to not pay for a/c and instead opened the screen front door and the sliding doors.

Good resort with huge suites. We loved our kitchen. This property doesn’t have direct beach access. Our suite also had a laundry machine and dryer inside. Good location as there is a shopping plaza close by. I would recommend this place; however, the pool areas are small for the size of the resort.

Beautiful grounds, decent size apartment, great room service but majorly lacking in customer service and building needs better sound proofing. We've been here for a week and all was great, sleep in/ wake up at 9am, eat breakfast go snorkeling. Sounds good right? Not so fast, a family with super active kids moved into a room above us. Now we are up at 6am, sucks. Dealing with customer service was no help at all, they told us when quiet hours are and every time we spoke to them always told us that people above us will be checking out tomorrow. So good luck. Your experience might vary.

Definitely seems more of an apartment/condo place than a resort. Doesn't have beach access. Beautiful rooms. But had to pay extra for air conditioning which is weird. My favorite thing is the quiet pool but there always seems to have kids come in and it's not as quiet. Difficult to navigate around the resort since everything kinda looks the same. It took us a while to find our own room. Security building is locked whenever I tried to find someone to talk to. The only time I found a security person was when a guy just so happened to drive up. Would probably want to go some place else next time.

We stayed here in June 2017. We were BLOWN AWAY with what we received! We were given a full kitchen, 2 large bedrooms, a dining area, a large living room with room to sleep a few adults AND a balcony that was from one end of the living room to the other end of the bedroom. We are going to Kona again in June 2018 and will be with a decent size group of about 15 families. Hopefully they have group rates because we are there!

Better inside than outside, luxurious, well appointed, with security and staff that are organized and deliver and don't overdo anything. And while this part of kona looked like typical congested, it is manageable, interspersed with scenery and scenic oceanic, terrestrial Vistas as well as houses and sights of flora and birds.

The room we got was very nice. It had a nice kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, ect. The only problem which was a major issue in my opinion was the walls. The walls are so incredibly thin I can always hear what people in another room were saying. What's worse is if you have someone staying in the Villa above you, you can hear them walking around and whenever they use the bathroom you can hear the water moving through the pipes. For someone who is easily awoken by sound or noise this was a nightmare! I would not recommend if you're easily awoken. What a disappointment!

Great place to stay. Friendly staff and the rooms are lovely. You have to have a car if want to get around.

Great facilities and staff. Climb up the hill to the local plaza is a little long and steep, make sure you get a ride in a golf cart or have a car! Otherwise great stay!

Nice clean and nice here and they have good service. They just don't have access to the beach for swimming. Beautiful views too.

Nice apt style rooms. Nice pool. Cool bar at the pool. There is a shuffle board and beach volleyball court. Cute walking trails around the property.

Nice place. Not much to do. Need a car to travel to places. There is a pool, jacuzzi, gym and volleyball which seems no one goes too. Have an expensive pub with really nice live music. Best thing to do is sit in jacuzzi listening to the live music while having a cocktail watching the sun go down. Also have bbq area with a one on one basketball court. Nice in general. Room is lovely but a bit outdated.

We have stayed here 6 prior trips to the Big Island! Great place our RCI trade via Disney Vacation Club is well worth the points used. On previous visits we've had guests with who slept on the pull out sofa bed in the den. The two full baths make it easy! But the space is great when my wife and I are traveling alone! Absolutely the most friendly staff and great facilities! We'll be back!

Beautiful new facilities. We had a one bedroom with large living room kitchen and dining room. Everything looked brand new. My only complaint is that the resort has no beach access.

This is our third time here and we've been coming back to this resort. Reasonable price and very friendly staffs. The amenities are super, since we loved to go to the local market and buy fresh produce to cook. Best part is away from the tourist area but not too far for the drive if you want to go some night live in kona downtown.

Older resort but going through renovations. They have all the amenities, pool, tennis court, yoga, bar and pretty grounds. Housekeeping has been attentative and quick. Kid friendly with safe walkways and a playground. Wonderful resort!

The room is spacious, well equipped and updated. The pool is close and has a nice bar and restaurant. The air conditioning costs a daily extra fee, but it's a small price to pay for the comfort. It's conveniently located and a nice quiet place to stay.

Was here on a timeshare week given to me by family so I don't have much to say about the value as it was free for me. Fairly well located to do many things on the big island. The room we got was very large but also quite old in terms of decor and such, it could use some updating as some things are in varying states of disrepair. Nothing too major though. Lots of amenities on the resort (pool, tennis, fitness center, beach volleyball, shuffleboard, etc). Staff is very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They do charge for a/c in the unit we had but we found we didn't need it.

I didn't stay at this property but visited my friend who was staying. After we had good time we found out our car didn't start. We had jump cable but never used it before. So we asked the security guy to teach us how to use it and he never used it either. So he called and another guy came down to help us. They were very helpful and courteous. My friend liked the stay there. They cooked breakfast and dinner every day. The shopping center is right across the street.

Love this place! Staff is very friendly, rooms are spacious and clean and everything you can possibly need while you're there is provided. Will definitely come again.

We have been coming to the Kona Coast Resort for 23 years, almost every year. The units have always been quite good turnout and any small problems have been fixed immediately. The staff here is great and the weather is always beautiful. And there is a small restaurant on site serving breakfast, Lunch, dinner. Good food, better people. We have been to many other timeshare locations, but this one takes the cake.

I think individual units are different from one another so our experience might contrast with someone else's stay. We stayed in a two bedroom condo with two King beds. I would consider this an acceptable place to stay but the interior and furniture were rather outdated and could use remodeling. Some drawers were difficult to open, tiles chipping, saggy couch, dim lighting that felt like the 80s, older carpet that made me feel like I wanted socks or slippers on walking around, and the beds we're just okay — not uncomfortable but nowhere near luxury or cozy. The detached garage was crawling with huge roaches that night (but we didn't see any inside). Also, you had to operate the a/c with a key and I read that some people were charged extra if they wanted to is it. That said, the unit was big and plenty spacious and my kids enjoyed their stay a lot. The patio table was nice and we saw the sunset over the water from there. We used the hot tub and pool and though they were both small, they were nice. The water was a great temperature. The location was perfect for reaching several activities without too much driving. Not good for walking though — I definitely recommend a rental car.

No water overnight, which turned into all day. Air conditioning not working, needed to be fixed… repeatedly. Rooms are dated and tired. Pools feels tiny for the number of people they're servicing. Towels are horrible and in short supply. Rooms downstairs have thunderous sound effects from upstairs — always. The tour desks are very happy to oversell and wrought any clientele… this has been one of the worst vacation experiences we have ever had.

I was very surprised with our room. We had a spacious one bedroom villa naia complete with a full kitchen, washer &dryer, fold out couch &our bedroom bed was like a cloud; so comfortable. Loved our condo, no complaints whatsoever. Another thing I loved was the people who work there. Everyone was so, very nice &that made our stay that much better. Kona Coast Resort is definitely our new go-to vacation destination for our frequent family get aways.

We loved the accommodations and the sunsets from the pool area. Air conditioning was worth the money. Our peek a boo ocean view was fun to watch fishing charters go out each morning. The restaurant was good.

Great place to stay. But the sofa bed wasn't that good. Had to put the pad on the ground.

Me and my wife spent our honeymoon here and this is the most best place on the whole island. It has an amazing view, very clean, very nice room service, whatever you need, they bring it to you right away. It's very quiet, always have parking. Close public shorelines, supermarkets, shops and restaurants. People are super nice, friendly and helpful. We are very thankful we found this place.

Of all of the negatives listed in the previous reviews, we experienced NONE of them. Lack of parking? We had a spot assigned to us. Dated decor? C'mon — it's a time share/hotel, not a private residence! Air Conditioning? We were here in March, so did not need it, but we had plenty of fans to move the air around the unit when it did get a bit muggy. The staff was friendly, helpful and very responsive when we called guest services about any minor issue we experienced in our unit. (We could not find the spatula and they brought one over right away; we needed more shampoo and conditioner and they had it available at the front desk where I was headed anyway to mail some postcards, but they would have brought it to my unit if I had not wanted to get out for a morning walk. ) The one feature that we really appreciated was the large number of outdoor grills sprinkled throughout the development AND the fresh herb gardens that were present at many of them. There were rosemary, sage, basil, and chives growing right there ready for us to pick and add to our food. Excellent — it felt just like we were at home! One very minor annoyance was the spotty Internet reception, but I suspect this has more to do with technology than what this place offers and that this will improve with time. Besides, who wants to sit in front of a computer screen when there is so much to see out in the natural world here.

This place is amazing for what you pay. It can easily suck you in though, so make sure you explore the island! I ended my vacation here and loved it. I'd recommend it for starting or ending your vacation. For starters they have a lot of resources for guides and tours, which is perfect for a first day or two.

I was 6 months pregnant w/my son, they thing I didn't do is swim with the dolphins, as my "resort guide" said I would have all the attention, totally. I was ok with that. I had the most amazing time, it would take pages to tell you just how great it was, helecopter trips. This was June of 1991. I'm going back very soon.

Very nice resort south of Kona which makes it closer to the volcanos that are 1.5 hours away. Far nicer than most places closer to VNP and close to Kona. Don't go there during Iron Man competition unless you want to spend a couple days locked in to the resort due to road closures.

Great value for the money, great location with local stores nearby, beautiful decor, attentive housekeeping, and no hassles. It is NOT on the shore and the views aren't great, but the landscaping is pristine and exotic. Enjoyed it very much.
