Review of Best Western Plus Orange County 2*

At first I was pleasantly surprised, just as some of the other reviews have stated. The entire place has recently been updated and even though the room smelled funny, it still seemed nice. Then, when my son pulled back the blankets on one of the beds we found a ketchup stain. Upon closer inspection we found hairs all over the sheets. They hadn't been cleaned at all! Being too tired from traveling we didn't through a big stink and leave. We just simply went to the front desk and asked for clean sheets. The receptionist was very helpful and apologetic. She gave us new sheets and told us she would talk to the manager and we would likely receive a partial reimbursement. We also found out that this is not the first time they have had this problem with their maid. Thankfully we didn't find any bed bugs when changing the sheets. The other thing was that this place was noisy! And I'm not even talking about the train whistles or the police sirens. We were on the first floor and the way the building us designed the sound from the lobby and the elevators carries down the hallway. In addition to that there was a family with 3 young kids who decided to camp out in the hallway the whole time we were there. I figures out that the reason was because their room was hot because the air conditioner wasn't working. WHAT?! It's July in Texas! It's 100°! You ask for a new room or your money back and go to a different hotel! Don't camp in the hallway and disturb all the other guests! I gave this place two stars for the friendly staff and updated buildings but that's the best I could do. I would not stay here again.
