Last weekend, this place was where we had our family reunion. It took months to plan, but each time I spoke to the coordinators, Michele, Vanessa, and Kathy, they were awesome. This hotel made sure we were greeted with a smile and always asked us if we needed anything. The rooms were impeccably clean and there were a lot of on site things to do. They were so accommodating, they even threw in a free use of their conference room Sunday morning so we could have our family worship service indoors due to the heat outside. The food in all of their restaurants was top notch. The prices were affordable as well. I would book this place again and again, and will definitely be back for fun and sun…

We have stayed here before & liked it very much. This time, we had reservations for an "executive view" room at $288 a night (before taxes). When we arrived at check-in time, our room was not ready. We waited almost two hours for our room — then discovered that we had been "upgraded" to a suite with a king size bed (our reservations were for two queen beds). My husband wound up sleeping on a very uncomfortable pullout couch, while our young grandson & I slept in the king bed. By no means ideal but the extra space was nice. Housekeeping was efficient and unobtrusive. Best features of the hotel, in my opinion, are the swimming pool (great for kids) and proximity to the beach. We will probably stay here again in the future but hope they get their reservations problems resolved soon.

It's my second stay here and it has been fantastic! Room was updated and bed was comfortable. It was nice to have a balcony overlooking the beach.

We stayed there just before our cruise. The rooms are a little outdated. Outside our balcony door we looked we overlooked the top of their main building. People had thrown glass bottles and some trash on top that needed to be cleaned up. However, staff was super nice. It was a quick and easy check-in. Rates were responsible. The restaurant had a breakfast buffet that was very good and they kept enough food out for the length of breakfast. We came in kind of late for breakfast and went away full and did not feel rushed. The shuttle service to and from the port was awesome. Both the woman that took us and the man that brought us back were very helpful and knowledgeable of events. (This was our first cruise! ) We came back to our car safe and secure after the seven days at sea. Good experience. Only three stars because of the needed updates and trash outside view. Easily fixed… no problems at all with service or experience.

My family and I received a room with a view during a 2 night stay. The view was nice and refreshing, while the staff was kind and very welcoming. However, the shower drain was not draining water quickly enough and water would collect up to 3 inches in the tub. By the end of the night, the toilet wouldn't flush completly either. The water would just swirl around in a weak whirlpool while the "materials" rotated in the middle of it. I don't know if the hotel had plumbing issues, but it was disappointing. The hotel also didn't look very updated or modern but that didn't matter to me much, at least not when I had a beach view. I would recommend this hotel, just be sure you have an efficient bathroom.

Too much money for poor service. Online states free parking-it's not. Online states kids eat free 12 and under if you order from on-site restaurant-the "unwritten" rule is you have to eat in the restaurant, not outside by the pool. No outside food or drinks by the pool-unless it's an empty Yeti cup. Who walks around with empty Yeti cups? Room was mediocre, pool says it's heated but it's not. Tashana was a breath of fresh air for trying to help. Ozzie the food/beverage manager was not helpful at all.

First time coming to Galveston. We came here yesterday may 10, 11, 12, I have no clue where to start! The front desk Brianna! You will never know how sweet you are a blessing to the hotel and they would lose out by not having you apart of there team! The girl working the bar outside didnt get her name but she was AMAZINGLY SWEET! The pool man was awesome kind and helpful. The guys cleaning in halls was kind they said hello made me feel soooo welcome. The room was clean it smelt so good through the entire hotel. I would come back here ANY TIME! Even if they have me a free room next door. I would rather come back to this place! Thank you holiday inn resort Galveston. Your my family's new place to stay!

Lovely hotel. Great staff. Left car in their secure car park whilst on a 7 day cruise. Complimentary shuttle to and from ship. Brilliant service.

Nice staff. Room was comfortable and accommodating. Breakfast was nice and the pool is great. Amazing bar staff and delivery. The restaurant closes at 8pm but u can order room service or pick it up at bar to save the fee We will be back! Oh happy hour 3-7

My family and I stayed at this hotel this past week for my husband's work conference. Yes, an older hotel, but I thought the aesthetics were fine. We found the beds to be comfortable. They were more on the firm side. Room perfectly clean. Everything (bathroom, TV, A/C, etc. ) worked great. Food is average. The outdoor pool was very nice. I appreciated the toddler pool and the basketball hoop for my eldest. There could be a sign on the kid activities room stating only operational during summer season. It was a bummer it was closed because my son kept glancing in and looks like some great stuff inside! Did not have time for the fitness center. Right across from the ocean. Luckily, there's a pedestrian crossing right by the hotel entrance as that main street is very busy. Walking distance to the Rain Forest Cafe. It would be quite a hike if you walked to the Pier. The beach was ok. Small, but smooth sand. Ocean is not a pretty blue as others will say. FYI note if the water is safe when you go as it's known for E. Coli issues. Side note: We had good food and service at Landry's, The Spot, and Willy G's. What won us over was the wonderful customer service. A huge thanks to the above and beyond GM, Jose, Crystal from Jetty's, and Kayla (I know I am misspelling her name, sorry! ) from B Jiggers. We had some unusual mishaps that the GM ended up taking care of. He was so nice and friendly! I personally appreciated the personal gestures like referring to us as the Johnson family.

For the price they charge I could have stayed at a much nicer place. Staff is friendly, but did not live up to their promises to make things rite. Had one problem after another and nothing got solved, just got a bunch of empty promises. Definitely will not be returning to this location.

One of the best hotels to stay on the island you have to come and deprive your exquisite menu in the hotel restaurant that if it brings silver because you're going to need it.

If I can give a 0 star I would! Horrible customers service! Rude and do not care about their customers. I had booked and paid for an ocean view, I arrived and first of all my room wasn’t ready so I had come back 2 hours later. Then I didn’t get an ocean view because they didn’t have any even though I had specificity said what I wanted. The manager Latasha said she can put me on an Ocean view but I had to pay $600 more! Did not make no effort or gave me other options. They put me and my son on a back room where we felt unsafe. We will NEVER come back to this hotel! If you’re planning on coming here, don’t do it. A waste of my money. I do not recommend. By the way it is NOT a resort.

You don't want to stay here. First it is not a resort. It is a hotel room. I asked for a room with a separate sitting area. It Was a chair in the corner of the room. They messed up my reservations twice and when we arrived did not have our request. After all the chaos they charged both credit cards on file. They had a five day hold on our money when the money was there. I cannot recommend this hotel. Too Many problems. It is not a Resort.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and efficient. Great location next to several restaurants. Unfortunately we saw a few bugs in the hotel bathroom.

Our stay was amazing! Everyone on staff was friendly, smiling and so quick to offer help if we needed it. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the view of the Gulf was spectacular. The beach was just across the street and it was clean as well. Such a relaxing and stress free stay. We will definitely be back!

Staff at the front desk was kind and courteous. Cleanliness was a problem. I killed 8 roaches throughout the night amongst other bugs. The TV didn't work. Complained at the front desk in the morning and received a nice apology and vouchers for a free breakfast at their restaurant. The food was mediocre at best and in retrospect, I would've preferred taking my family to a restaurant and paying for our meal. We won't be staying here again. Too bad. Prime location.

Didn't know all the rooms where facing the seawall and was charged ocean view. Otherwise… great hotel, nice staff, and very kid friendly. Pool was really nice to swim in. Kids loved it! Would stay again.

The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. The location was convenient and the room had an excellent view. The downside is the bar below the hotel, Jiggers. The limited parking was taken up by bar patrons, leaving me to circle the parking lot waiting for a spot on both nights. The music was loud in my room even with all doors and windows closed, and the AC running. They kindly leave ear plugs on the night stand… never a good sign. To top it off they didn't shut the bar down until 2. It was a nice hotel minus the lack of parking and sleep thanks to the nightclub.

The view was excellent and three room was clean. The beach is right across the street. The price was a little high. The service was average. Honestly I would have been completely thrilled if the hotel next door didn't look twice as nice. I had a little regret that we didn't stay there.

Lovely room, but the bar downstairs had some pretty strong bass through the evening. We had some trouble with the breakfast staff being overworked and forgetful. Being able to see the ocean out your window in the morning is nice, and placement is perfect for access to everything around the island. The Wi-Fi was weak, and I couldn't use it at all.

This hotel was a very bad experience. We had requested one king bed and were given 2 double beds instead. When we complained they told us that there were no more king beds available and they could only give us what was available. Of course we asked if we can cancel the reservation since we did not receive what we had booked and they told us no that we would be charged for the booking. The hotel rooms are seriously outdated and due for an update. Not to mention the manager here (Dec 31, 2017 3pm) was very unfriendly and unaccomodatig. I definitely will not be back to this place. The hotel desperately needs new management.

We stayed here to experiment with being closer to town and saying on The Wall. Our room had a decent beach view though overlooked the hotel's industrial roof. Everything was clean and well decorated for the holidays. It seemed a little crazy crossing a busy street to get to to the beach, but being close to town, you're within walking distance of plenty of places. The pool is heated so you can use it year 'round.

Love the pool has a basketball goal. Room was great. The location was perfect right in the middle of everything. Super close to the beach.

Nice view from our room to the oceanfront and the people at the front desk were really nice. If you are planning a cruise out of Galveston you can leave your car here free of charge without paying for Port Parking. If you try to cancel Port Parking in Galveston they have a 48 hour no cancellation policy. Live and learn from us.

Tonight November 9th was great at the Holiday Inn on the beach B jiggers bar. Usually for happy hour 5-7 the music is way too loud, booming too much to talk and of non age appropriate venue. Tonight I was there at 7:00 Sharp and the wonderful band the lineup Was preparing to play at about 8. The can music was that a volume where we could talk, the bar was moderately failed people were having a good time awaiting the lineup with Pleasant Tunes that set a happy mood for the clients aged 40 to 80. The line up band plays Excellent classic rock! Tonight was a tribute to someone that the people in Galveston have known for a long time. Vanessa Perez, food and beverage manager, prepared chicken wings for all of the customers tonight at B jiggers bar. Everyone was clapping and many people were dancing to the music and enjoying the snacks that were provided by the generous hospitality of the Holiday Inn on the beach. Usually even the bands or way to blaring for my taste but tonight it wasn't it was just loud but still perfectly acceptable dancing, the singing and Casual conversations… All which were going on at the same time. Thank you Holiday Inn on the beach for such a wonderful time tonight. Tonight, not only have you excelled in welcoming tourists, but you also have made your local Galvestonians feel like family, at the Holiday Inn on the beach.

Overall a nice hotel, rooms have the standard amenities (mini fridge, coffee maker) beds were comfortable. You are a 5-10 minute walk from the convention center, Kroger and a short drive from pleasure Pier. Only had their breakfast buffet once since it was included with my stay, quality was good but not outstanding. My biggest problem with my stay was haven't an entrance on the outside of the building you could hear the wind blowing through the hallway outside the room all night. I don't know if it was the fridge or microwave but one of them kept making a ticking type sound that I was able to tune out.

We booked this hotel simply because out of the two Holiday Inn's on the Seawall they were the only one's that actually answered the phone. I proceeded to book this hotel since we are able to bring our bikes in the room. They didn't have many rooms available, but we ended up with one next to a back hall leading out of the building. The room appeared clean and easy to maneuver. However, what I was told over the phone making the reservation was not the price we ended up paying. For the price of this room (which was way too much) the only two things good were the location on the Seawall and the clean room. Between the difference in price, the constant loud noise with staff and guest banging the back door against the wall and the metal door latch (the kind that are in the middle of a fire door) making a loud clanking noise waking us up about 5am every time someone went out. To the roach crawling across the hotel Bar Lounge while we were having a drink then alerting the bartender after it crawled over a few things. This will not be a hotel I recommend though I was given a free drink I should have researched more about the hotel. I've never had issues such as these with the hotel chain. I also chose them because I knew we would not be in our room much.

It was a great stay. Most staff excellent. The only thing that I didn't like was as a member they would not give me 2 hour late check out.

This is our first visit but won't be our last. The staff has been so attentive and the room with an ocean front view us spectacular. Highly recommend this hotel if you're in the Galveston area.

I'll start by saying every staff member I spoke with was friendly, especially the desk staff. The view of the bay was not unpleasant. The property, however, was a mess. The sheets on both beds were dirty, or if not dirty, then very unpleasantly stained (blood, I hope). The toilet seat hadn't been cleaned. While packing up to leave the next morning we found clothing from a previous guest. Our lock broke and we had to wait 30 minutes to get in while the crew (who was super nice) tried to fix the lock. They replaced it with one that looked older. And the East elevator? Elevator I think a guest cleaned a fish on the 4th floor and washed the guts into the elevator shaft. It. Smelled. Awful. To be fair, I don't blame the property for that, but it is too bad they couldn't find a solution on such a hot day. Again, and I can't stress it enough, the staff was kind and put in an effort to be helpful. I will think long and hard before booking this property again before walking the property to make sure it has improved.

Good service for a 3 star hotel, although a little high on the price.

The check-in process was smooth and the room was ready before 4pm. Room was clean and spacious for family of 4 in two queen beds. View was nice and as expected. Restrooms are small and dated. You are within walking distance of beach. Great location and service. Would recommend and coming back next weekend getaway.

When I come to a resort I expect customer service that's similar to welcoming me into your home and that is just not what I got. Upon arrival I thought our room was booked under my friends name instead of mine… but I intact booked it under mine… instead of asking if the room could possible be under another name Victoria told us that we didn't have a reservation and probably booked somewhere else. Then they told us it would be $25 for a balcony which seeing the other reviews I feel like that's a bait thing they were taught to get $25 more from you. Well we got to our room and the bathroom had hair and like dust like particals on the floor like it's never been swept. Thankfully we only stayed one night. But I will be looking for another resort when I return to Galveston.

I put this on their site as well, but I figure it will be useful here as well. First let me say this, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and im sorry my review will look bad on those I had contact with but I feel I needed to share. we chose this resort because of the great review being a family friendly resort. Yes they have a kids center, and a small room with arcade games but that's about as far as the kid friendliness went. They had movies at the pool which was supposedly geared toward kids, but the pool was always full of drunk adults, so that didn't work out. Our air conditioner didn't work very well, It didn't cool down our room until around midnight. if you are choosing this hotel because it's on the beach, it is great access to the beach (have to walk across seawall blvd, kinda scary) and the views are nice, but don't expect to be able to hear the ocean over the constant traffic. My son left a book in the room, and we missed it while packing up, I know it's not their job to keep up with that, but I called the day after we left, and left a message for lost and found to see if they found it. I called for 5 days, never got and answer from house keeping, and never got a call back, I even left a message for the supervisor, still no call back. just not what I expected. and don't order drinks at the pool, 10 dollars for a 8 oz cup of bad margarita is not worth it.

My Husband and I wanted to plan a small trip for us. We work really hard to live on our own plus I'm currently in school. So vacations like this come far and few for us right now. We started off at Moody Gardens and then came to check in at 4. The room wasn't ready right away, but shortly after we received a text. We were just tired and ready to wind down. The staff was very apologetic about the wait. I didn't get the guy's name and I regret I didn't! But he was older than us and the sweetest most respectful man who helped us. Our room faced the beach, which we were able to walk to. The pool here was nice and in the day had a DJ playing good fun music. Saturday night Moana played at the pool. I was able to watch from my room. Also, the two house keepers that helped with soda machine and the towels were both really nice and helpful. We stayed July 29th — 31st and on our last night we were treated to champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. I barely ever right reviews, but this experience was too wonderful NOT to. The hotel staff here is amazing and will make you feel very welcomed. I would definitely will be recommending to all my friends and family.

Had a Great stay here! Brianna, John and the other lady that worked mornings with her were very very helpful. They were attentive to our needs always pleasant and remembered my name. Housekeeping was awesome too. GREAT location and plenty of things are within walking distance. Kid oriented.

We stayed in the Starfish suite, it was really nice. The breakfast buffet was good. Nice views and it's really cool to be right next to the beach. It's a pretty nice beach, for Galveston at least. Very fun and the pool is great.

For a resort, I expected so much more. It does have a very nice view of the beach but, the rooms aren't of the same caliber. Also, the accuracy of booked room vs. Received room wasn't even close. I booked a king suite on a high floor and got a double queen on floor 2, lol… Over all, not horrible.

I've never been to this hotel in galveston.

Fantastic stay! The staff was very friendly and welcoming, great property at a great location. Room was very comfortable and clean. The view was amazing and the balcony was really great looking out over the ocean. We used the pool and restaurant and both were very nice! The building itself is a little older bit don't let that fool you, it has been kept up very well and looks fresh and modern. We will absolutely be back to this Holiday Inn Resort!

WOW! I have not enough words to express how wonderful we were treated. All I had to mentioned was that we were there to celebrate my mom's birthday and when she got to the room there were balloons and cookies. Very clean, great view, amazing personnel… Will definitely go back. Thank you so much for an amazing experience! A+++++

I wouldn't stay at this resort again. The building is very old. Our hotel sink had a long crack in it. The toilet seat was old and peeling. We had problems shutting our hotel door, then the door handle on the outside broke. My Husband and I both found the beds hard to sleep on. The carpet was stained. It's a non smoking hotel which for me wasn't a bad thing, but my Husband had to walk almost off the property to smoke. No free breakfast. They have a resturant inside the hotel. We paid for the buffet 10.99-not worth it at all, but we did get a voucher for our son to eat breakfast free we received from the hotel. The fruit was the only good food. It does have some positives. The pool is amazing, and heated. The customer service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, and helpful. The only issue we had with service is that they had forgotten we asked for a late check out, so they had called our room saying they were about to charge us another day. We resolved the problem quicky. The bar with the live band was a lot of fun. They have a great arcade area. The playroom area for kids was great as well. It's a very family oriented place. The view from the balcony was nice to wake up to. The view at night was lovely. I wouldn't stay here again because it's not up to the standards I want for, $200 a night.

Great experience, very kid friendly, speedy customer service (got us a crib within 5 minutes of requesting one) and amazing hospitality. Would have been a five but we were under impression that "on the beach" meant on the beach. Not beach across busy street.

The PERKS-I have been to this resort about 5 times now! I speak from experience -Karoke Bar located at bottom -Arcade for children/playroom for children -Theater room -Great breakfast -The higher the floor the better the view, especially if you want to see the sun rise -The swimming pool is spacious -You have your own patio facing the ocean -Towels and BATH&BODY WORKS conditioner/shampoo -Hot and Cold water -Cleaning Service comes to clean daily-morning time (you can put a sign DO NOT DISTURB) -Friendly Staff -Beach is right across! -YOU control A/C or heat THE NEGATIVES -Older building, not so contemporary -Hallways are outside -Elevators are a bit slow -Heavy doors (if it is windy WATCH OUT) -Lower levels may hear noise but if you are not there to have a good time, GET OUT! -It is not a fancy place but a comfy place so if you are looking for treatment like San Luis Resort then go there INSTEAD. -Wifi is okay at bottom levels but higher levels may take a while to access but you do have access.

I stayed there for one night this past Sat, 1/2. I was expecting a "Resort" type hotel. But unfortunately I was not quite right. The way the hotel is built, hallway is basically outdoor and concrete. Other guests roll the suit case and talk (rather shout), you hear a lot and it echos. It was chilly night but the front door doesn't keep outside air out. Need well sealing on the bottom. We didn't have Hot Water and it was rather warm water. I got in the shower next morning waiting for the water to get hot, it never did. I couldn't wash my hair because it was too cold in there. So I had to get out and put some cloth on then washed my hair from outside of the tub. They have a night club located on the bottom of the hotel and below window. So until they close, we heard the loud music and people partying. Sorry it wasn't my place to stay and never come back.

We had a really nice time. The room balconeys all face the beach and the view gets nicer with altitude. The pool is nice, with a kid pool, adult pool, sun deck areas, etc. There's a gym, kid play area (locked) and an arcade with a few games that require tokens. All in all, it was a great value and nice experience!

Romm was awesome and our waitress Savannah was as courteous as she is beautiful but this resort needs a new cook! Overall the resort is AWESOME!

If it would allow me to give NEGATIVE stars I would. I am a Disabled Vet, and I asked for a room for my family. They said it would cost $145 than when I asked about a MILITARY discount I was quoted $209… Now I'm not a mathematician but something doesn't add up. Why would you charge more to a person that has served to protect, than someone that hasnt. I feel that it is very disrespectful being a VET.

Great place to stay on a budget. Even though the hotel is next door to the San Luis Resort. Facts are facts that Galveston is not major resort town. But a great place for a weekend getaway. We enjoyed the staff they were very nice and pleasurable. They found out that it was my wife and I honeymoon… so they sent up to our room (free of charge) chocolate covered strawberries which my wife loved. The view was great the balcony was nice although small. The restaurant down stairs was great. It's small and quaint. Not loud at all… Great for couples or newlyweds… my new wife and I will definitely come back. Hopefully next time we will upgrade to the suites…

This was me and my husbands first vacation alone. We needed to get away and relax and thats exactly what we did, however the bed wasn't comfortable and our backs hurt every morning. We had a room on the 3rd floor facing the beach. Our room was clean. The staff were nice and helpful. We enjoyed ourselves and will probably be back.

Terrible staff. Would not cancel a reservation minutes after I made it. This place is a dump. Not sure how they call themself a resort? It's anything but a resort. Not even sure how they are a Holiday Inn. Sleep in your car for a better room.

Dirty rooms. Blood stains on our top comforter, asked them to change it, and they did. House keeper said it wasn't the day to change the top comforter. What about the promise to change all bedding after each stay? Very kid friendly, that's about it. Lots o mold in the rooms, and outside walls. We watched them just paint over the mold on the outside walls. No bleach no cleaning no nothing.

The attempt to have a renovated hotel was there. Was an average stay. They did very well with have kind friendly things available to do. Staff was very very friendly they made the stay enjoyable. You can see all they do is paint over the mold though. And you can see it on the ceiling in the room. It was just a average stay.

This place had roaches looking at me when I got out of the shower. They didn't bother changing my sheets and giving me clean towels. They couldn't find the check my company sent for me and my coworker to stay. They charges his card, they finally found the check and took their time putting his money back on his card. They gave us some vouchers for breakfast due to the mix up. Then when checking out said we upgraded to the breakfast package. The manager was rude and unprofessional house keeping rude and not friendly. I should've stayed on the beach. I will never stay there again.

This would be my 3rd time staying at the Holiday Inn here in Galveston (I am a Landry's select and IHG member) This will be my last stay as well. The Wi-Fi didn't work, the TV channels go in and out and show a black screen. My reservation was cancelled but thankfully they found it (I was not happy) I paid for a room with a VIEW and the only view I had was the view of the back if the restaurant. Which sucked! Couldn't even see the water when I sat down. I was not happy about my stay this time. The room had a smell to it when we first went in. This was just not a good experience.

Love this hotel. Went last summer and my hubby and I loved it so we are going back in June, staying alot longer.

Nice rooms with balcony facing the Gulf of Mexico. Good staff, including prompt in room maintenance for an ac issue at 11:30pm. On site restaurant has decent selection and pricing. Clean rooms. There are a lot of birds, but this is to be expected considering the location.

This was the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at! there were several issues: the TV remote would not work, the bathroom and room (with a balcony) was old and in the bathroom the walls were falling apart not to mention it appeared dirty, the pop dispenser would only drop water (even though we pushed the button for Lemonade several times. Now for the best part of the EXPRIENCE; at dusk when the sun was setting all we heard and were distracted by was thousands of black birds getting ready to nest for the evening in the trees around the pool (and this carried on Loudly for what seemed like forever) AND then we seen rats (yes that is plural as in more than one! ) by the pool, they were running back and forth between the shrubs, tables and lounge chairs. Now to top off the experience — when we went to check-out our bill was about 70 dollars more than anticipated! we had called and reserved two balcony rooms right next to each other, they were purchased on the same card and were the same price; when we went to checkout one room was the price as we expected and the other room was sixty-five dollars over! we asked how that happened and the lady at the desk first said that it was because we purchased them at different times and that is why the rate was different, we explained that in fact we did not purchase them separately, she then referred us to the paper we signed the day before and said that since we had signed this paper then there was nothing she could do about it!

The Jetty had good food, good service, good lighting, and was a nice quiet setting for a family dinner.

Not sure what the bad ratings are, cause this is one of the nicest places we have stayed at. Even when the SunSpree was open, its now the Galveston Island Hotel, this Holiday Inn is much nicer. Yes maybe you are fooled cause you see resort, but honestly, not any hotels here except the San Luis next door are resorts even with that name. The price is a little to high, but the hotel is clean, quiet and very inviting.

Firstly, most of the negative reviews stem from the name RESORT. It's definitely not a resort hotel, especially it's right next door to San Luis. On the exterior this hotel looks like one of those apartments built around the 80's, so there's nothing really to write home about. The inside though, has been upgraded to look pretty similar to those more recent Holiday Inns. I stayed on the top floor and it's nice and neat. Carpet is not the newest but far cry from stain-filled. The balcony is kinda smallish but hey that's still great ocean view. San Luis is built with a curvature so you get a more panoramic view than this hotel. But the price difference is substantial. I paid $109 (with AAA) for an off day but $189 for the top level at San Luis. And the heater works a lot better at Holiday Inn than San Luis.
