We stay here because Karina at the front desk is the best! without her quick wit, helpful recommendations, and overall great personality this hotel wouldn't be the same. Great rooms, great breakfast, great location central to everything! Don't expect to get a room last minute. We booked in November for our May trip. You don't have to book that early, but why wait!

This Hotel was awesome! The breakfasts were so well prepared and laidback. They even sent us on the road with a snack bag:). Will return the next weeks trip to SPI! :)

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The pool is great, the employees are friendly and always keeping the hotel clean. The rooms are a prefect size and very nice, including the restroom… the shower is beautiful! I would definitely stay here again. I stayed in a condo on the beach for one night and wasn't comfortable there so we moved to this hotel and it was SO much better. Stay here, you won't be disappointed!

The hotel is located within 10 minutes of walking distance from the beach. If you have a car, you can reach the beach in 2-3 minutes and park your car there. Very clean — in and out. The staff is keen to please the guests and are very helpful. The breakfast was hot and items were fresh. Parking was never an issue. All the restaurants are within 1-2 miles' distance. The Sea Turtle Inc and Birding station are a short drive from the hotel. All in all, a perfect location on the island. Some construction work on the street in front of the hotel caused minor inconvenience getting in and out of the parking area, but that is a temporary issue. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

Pros: Rooms have been updated. Small table with 2 seats in room was nice. So many outlets and light options. Close enough to beach. Cons: Continental breakfast was very sad, you may opt to go out or snack elsewhere. King size bed seems small? Mini fridge had buildup in back, took full day to bring items up to chilled.

Very clean and pleasant! The staff was great especially Raul who works the front desk at night. Never got up in time for breakfast, but the coffee was great! I highly recommended this hotel. My son and I enjoyed it and will come back again soon!

Great location! It's right next door to a dollar general which is great for buying water bottles, snacks, and anything else you may have forgotten/need for a reasonable price. It's also only a 5 minute walk to the beach and gulf of Mexico, which makes for great relaxation! The restaurant, Blackbeard's is also right next door and it's one of the top 25 restaurants in South Padre. The rooms were fairly cramped though so be ready to get comfortable!

Great proximity to the beach, essential shopping for the beach, and a bite to eat. Room was clean and comfortable. Not a large room or bathroom, but it was exactly what was needed. While I do not plan to stay here on a return trip in the fall, it is not because there were any issues with Best Western. Now that I have a better feel for South Padre, I'll be looking to rent a bigger place to accommodate more people. Best part about the trip was the easy walk to the beach from Best Western.

Great place and price and it's central location is perfect for walking about the island. King size room was spacious and furnished with up to date and stylish furniture. Definitely recommend to stay here if possible.

Great hotel and value for south padre. Rooms were very small. Location was excellant. Staff and services excellant. Other than room size this hotel was beyond expectations, and we will definitely be staying here in the future.

Great rooms and staff. The breakfast was great with many choices. They have fresh coffee 24 hrs. The beach was 1 block walk. Loved it.

Very clean and tidy. Service is great. Housekeeping does an excellent job. Rooms are well kept up. Bathrooms are spacious and nice. They have a guest laundry area that you can use (they sell detergent). The complimentary breakfast is quite good. A two minute walk to the beach from the hotel. Great hotel!

Great location to stay at. Front office personnel was friendly and personable. Breakfast was okay, but it was free! Rooms were smaller but very clean.

Clean rooms, friendly attentive staff, breakfast was good. Room does not have keurig and should. Pool was nice, but whirl pool looked like it needed fresh water. Will stay here again. Real close walk to beach, decent priced.

Apparently recently remodeled. Room was great. Lots of room, comfortable bed, lots of outlets for electronics. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the shower. They had replaced the tub with a walk in shower that was really nice except for the door. Apparently they ordered the wrong door configuration so the door had to be put in backwards. This let the water leak out during your shower and also you couldn't open the end near the controls to start the shower. You had to get into the shower to turn it on which made for a cold start. Whole staff was pleasant and professional. Housekeeping was fast and efficient. Would stay there again in spite of the shower.

Beautiful new hotel, 1 block from beach. The staff were absolutely the Best. I just retired from Diagnostic medical sales and use to spend 100+ nights a year in hotels. Wish I HAD such nice rooms and services at most of those higher priced hotels. Have already made another reservation at this location for New Year's, so I could be on the beach New Years Day, 2018.

This is the place to be! Some beach hotels say they are steps from the beach but really aren't; this one actually IS just steps from the beach! And this is coming from me, a mom of 3 small children who I had no trouble taking to/fro. I also LOVE how beautiful this hotel is. From our window seat in our room to the fully equipped fitness room, to the 5 star hot breakfast, it's the little details that make a huge difference in my book. I will come back again and again and again! Can't beat the price! Or the experience!

This is not beachside! There are several rows of houses, condos, etc between the hotel and the beach. You have a nice view of the parking lot from your window. If that is not an issue for you, this is a nice hotel for the price. Our room was clean and updated. It had a comfy desk, and a nice closet to store your bag. The bathroom was very good, as was the air conditioner. The bed bothered my back, but most hotel beds do. The hotel looks new or recently updated and it in a nice section of south padre island with lots of stores and restaurants close by. If you don't mind driving or hauling your stuff to the beach, you might just like this hotel!

The rooms look new! The rooms are a little smaller than other chains but very modern and beautiful. They took very good care of us. The price is fantastic given the quality of service, nice and clean room, and free breakfast that they serve. I will be staying here again for my next fishing trip.

A wonderful place to stay when on South Padre Island. This is the cleanest Best Western I have ever stayed at. The staff takes alot of pride in this location. Everyone was friendly and eager to help. I highly recommend this location.

Easy two block walk to the beach. Smallish rooms but comfy and everything was clean and in working order. Throw in the breakfast and you have the best value for a nice clean room on the island.

I enjoyed my week stay at BW Beachside. I came for rest, quiet, and just plain relaxation … and … I found it. I was there the last week of September. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel and room was fresh and clean. The location was about 2 blocks from the Gulf. I would definitely return to this location. If you are looking for an excellent place for an extended period of time. This is the place.

Very nice hotel! The staff was very friendly & the hotel was nice and clean. The room which included two queen beds was really small but comfortable anyways. Although we didn’t hear anyone else in the hotel they did complain about us being loud when all we were doing was having a conversation. Not being loud at all. It was very close to the beach, we actually walked there.

Nice clean room. Nicely furnished. Loved the shower. Quick walk to the beach. Bring your own beach towels and chairs if you plan to spend time sitting/ playing in the beach.

The hotel is nice and clean. The staff is friendly. It is not located on the beach, but it is just a 3 minute walk to get to the beach. The hotel has been completely remodeled and is contemporary yet cozy. Breakfast is complimentary and hearty. The outdoor pool and hot tub are also clean and refreshing.

Although this hotel is very clean and the staff are extremely helpful and pleasant, there is room for improvement. The breakfast bar has a poor setup which leads to serious traffic jams — it's hard to just get coffee, for example. Also, the breakfast area is hot due to the proximity to the front door. The swimming pool and hot tub were sparkling clean! There were some minor fit and finish issues in our bathroom (hot/cold water faucet problems, loose fitting on tub handrail), but overall was a very nice experience.

Great place to stay! Looks and smells extremely clean! Breakfast was delicious and the staff was great. We did not encounter any problems. Check in and check out was really fast. My children really enjoyed the outdoor pool. The beach is very close. You can actually walk to it from the hotel. Unfortunately we were only staying one night. But we will definitely stay at this place next time we visit South Padre.

My husband and I recently stayed here for 4 nights, we were so happy with our stay! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We both highly recommend anyone to stay here! The breakfast was good, what you would expect for a hotel breakfast, nothing fancy but good. The only negative thing I have to say is that I was disappointed that we couldn't swim at all, as the pool was way to cold. I wish it had been a heated pool, even on the really warm days it was way to cold to swim in. Other than that it was great! Also had a very short walk to the beach which was perfect. Thanks for an overall awesome stay!

First off the hotel doesn't have safes in the room. Therefore, I had to take my purse every time we left the room. I'm glad I did because I was able to minimize my loss. We checked in last Wednesday and out yesterday. While I was packing I noticed that my diamond hoop earrings were missing. I specifically remember putting them in my toiletry bag on Thursday night. The cleaning crew came in each day and cleaned the room, we also had maintenance come in to service the toilet. Once we packed up to leave, I stopped by the front desk to talk to the manager about my missing jewelry, he checked the log of who accessed the room and then told me that they really can't do anything other than file a complaint. He went on the say that they're cleaners have been with them for a number of years… as if this made it ok! We will not be staying at this hotel ever again and I urge all the are interested to be very careful. I loved those earrings and they weren't cheap but overall I feel violated due to the loss. This incident just about ruined my vacation and knowing that the hotel is doing NOTHING to fix this makes it even worse. Again, be careful and if you choose to stay here, utilize the safe deposit boxes that they keep in the lobby that they didn't tell us about until the day before we checked out.

The hotel itself was pretty decent, and the cleaning crew were friendly as well. I mean probably the only good thing from it was that it was near the beach, so you can literally just walk to get their. But the one thing that tick me off was that the back door didn't lock. So you'd basically get in by pulling the piece of wire as a door handle. I mean anyone can get in. That's not safe. 2nd The breakfast sucked. I mean Cheerios with toast? C'mon I'm sure you guys make more money than that. 3rd they literally had construction right in front of our door so we would have to walk right in front of the workers as we tried getting into our rooms. 4th they had a kid who looked like he was 17 or so working in front desk taking payments and "accidentally" charged us twice. I mean overall it was an okay expierence but I was not satisfied.

Pros: room was new, new paint, new flooring, very clean. Nice reception. Short walk to beach Cons: tiny pool. Breakfast was butter and jelly for toast and raisin brand and cornflake cereal. No sugar to add so you'll have to eat it bland. (Unless you like sweet n low). Super old microwave in the room. Construction was going on and started at 8 in the morning so don't worry about sleeping in. You won't be able to. And if the smell of new paint bothers you. Skip. Over all: I'll go back once construction is over and they have what they need to get a real breakfast out.

There are a couple of negative aspects guests should be aware of. Breakfast consists of toast and coffee, at least it did on the one occasion I went downstairs to see what was being offered. Ongoing construction prevented access to the pool. It was not closed off, but debris coated the surface of the water. Construction dust in the hallways put my allergies into overdrive, and I developed a morning cough which usually cleared up within a hour of leaving the property each morning. Rates remained unchanged, and are higher than other places, so shop around. Ask about ongoing construction here. On the plus side, the remodeled rooms are VERY nice. Staff is very polite and helpful. Rooms are cleaned each day. Maintenance is very responsive. Had an AC problem and someone was there to work on it within the hour. No trouble since. I gave it an average rating due to the negative aspects I had mentioned previously. Hopefully management will address those concerns, and the qaulity will improve in the coming months. Future comments from other guests will confirm whether or not management takes feedback seriously.

I must say this was not a. Good experience. This hotel is useing false advertising: there was no free continental breakfast (you got cereal and milk, some day old bread for toast, some water down coffee and juice. The hot tub was a 3 ft kids pool with cold water. Now the rooms on the other hand was very nice and clean unlike the rest of the hotel. They over charge out the ass, and the pictures are not the real deal.

The rooms were super clean! Shower, room itself, pool all amazing! I believe the price was very low for everything you get. I definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Friendly folks. Good hot breakfast! Eggs, biscuit and gravy, sausage or bacon, coffee, juice, cereal, toast. Not the Ritz but neither are the prices. Currently being remodeled but that is not affecting us at all!

The reception is very nice. Really good price in Holiday. I though to choose Motel 6 for cheap price. However this motel makes me suprise with good deal when I come.

The hotel is NOT on the beach like they said. But overall it was a decent hotel for the cheap price! Pool and hot tub were nice. It was walking distance from the beach. The staff was very nice. Rooms were decent. They are remodeling and the bathrooms are very nice.

Over priced, dirty, smelly. When you walk down the hall you feel like your about to get robbed by someone. I do not recommend staying here. Breakfast is a joke.
