Nice hotel. Good location.

Well kept and clean rooms. Staff is very helpful and pleasant to interact with. The location is quite close to local eateries and amenities.

Our stay was unforgettable! During our stay they accommodated our needs and showed us great hospitality. The entire staff was spectacular and stayed professional throughout our entire visit. They made things easier for me and my family and overall made our experience there more enjoyable. I recommend considering to stay there. Dorantes Family.

Facing great places to spend money.

The breakdown of my 2 rating is simple: 5 for the room, breakfast and location and 0 for corporate (BS) cancellation policy. We arrived at 10pm for my "Reserved" room which was secured by a credit card. The cancellation policy stated that I needed to cancel by 6pm the previous evening or be changed for the room if I did not show. This policy is fair and acceptable. What is not fair and acceptable was when we arrived they state that they cancelled the reservation and the room was no longer available. The front desk agent stated that they reserved that right. The good news was we could secure another room but at a higher rate and then call back on Monday to negotiate a refund with the manager. At no time was I notified by telephone or email (they had both with my reservation). After 25 minutes we secured another room at the agreed upon rate. The rating would have been a solid 5 ⭐ if they just followed through with the agreed upon rate instead of capitalizing on maximizing profit.

The rooms were clean and breakfast was great. They cleaned the room each day and and the front desk was incredibly friendly. Check in was very easy and checkout was smooth as well.

Huge roach in bathroom, room very damp sheets and bed felt moist had to sleep on towels, room smelled, pool filthy, breakfast was scarce food was not replenished at 9am even though it ended at 9:30am. Manager of hotel didn’t care very unprofessional. Do not stay here.

Stop overbooking. This is a deceptive practice. I booked & paid for a room with 2 beds; got room with ONE bed. They refuse to refund the overcharge. General manager continues to hide, will not call back.

They overbook; you lose. I reserved online & paid for a room with 2 queen beds + $10 for extra guest. Upon late check-in I was told they had overbooked and instead they were putting us (my 80-yr-old mother, my sister, and me) in a room with ONE king bed & a sleeper sofa. I was given blanket, pillow, pillow case to make my own sleeper sofa. I asked for and PAID for TWO beds that were ready to be used. Holiday Inn Express & Hotel & Suites in Brownsville, Texas, took advantage of us because of the late hour and they knew we had no other options. General manager, Carmenchu Grana, refuses to call me back. I want them to refund the rate difference between the two rooms.

The room is really nice, with a modern look to it. However, the wireless internet is super slow. I couldn't even watch a video without it buffering. But, other than that the room is really nice, plus the free breakfast was pretty good as well.

I love this Holiday Inn Express I always stay here when I came to Brownsville. José is the best. He is so helpful and Friendly. His is so awesome. Thank you Holiday Inn Express for having friendly staff.

Good location, renovated rooms, great breakfast, and good business center for last-minute work needs.

All impeccably clean, breakfast included with mini omelet, very varied and bagel, muffins sweets, fruit, coffee and juices all very complete and hot, also for reasons of force majeure we had to leave a day earlier and we returned the money dela stay of that Day.

Friendly and courteous staff. The problem I had was the cleanliness of my room. The carpet had a lot of stains. Carpet seemed like it was not vacuumed and the microwave had old food in it. Had to change hotel went Home 2 Suites. Newer property super clean and about the same rate.

Front desk and dining room were great. Room and hallway leading to it had a bad smell. Carpet did not appear to be vacuumed and very stained. Looked like carpet hadn't been washed in a very long time.

Awesome hotel. Very good price for what you get. Everything is extremely clean and organized.

The rooms were clean and they had a decent breakfast spread; however, there was an old smell in the room. The Wi-Fi kept a solid connection. Overall my stay was mostly quiet. There was a loud bar across the canal that played loud music until after 2 am Friday night. Also, I was overcharged for my stay but the hotel promised to correct it. After receiving no follow up on the issue and calling repeatedly the general manager, Julio was extremely rude to me. He blamed me for the billing error and refused to give credit. I called the hotel chain and he refused to work with them also. There are not an abundance of choices in this town but I recommend you try elsewhere. The hotel chain did provide me credit eventually…

It's not bad but not the best. The rooms smelled, pillows were uncomfortable and the shower looks dated and dingy looking. Nice continental breakfast options though. Customer service is the worst ever. They overcharged and will not refund our money even after admitting they did overcharge us. Literally had to call corporate to resolve the issue. I would not recommend this hotel to any unless you are desperate.

Everything went over very well. From moment I walked in the door to checkout. 2 thumbs up.

It's was fun. I went their because my Aunt told me to go so I did. I went to the pool and had fun with my cousins. Thats why.

It's very nice, clean, very friendly staff and helpful. Breakfast could be improved as to food quality served especially on the hot bar.

I stay here a lot. The staff is really friendly but the rooms are pretty old and dated. Definitely a better choice than a lot if the hotels in the area though.

Clean location, friendly staff, a little bit run down but well kept.

The view of the nearby resaca is beautiful. The provided breakfast was always good, although it was served a little bit early for my taste (7:30 to 9:30). The housekeeper came by daily, and always did a good job. The Wi-Fi was free to guests and reliable. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Really, the only complaint I would have is that the pool was a little bit "dirty" (filled with plant bits) from being outside, but that's a pretty minor thing.

Working here for while and needed a good location, this hotel offers that. Walking distance to restaurants… So arrived tired after an 8 hour drive from Dallas… Young lady on reception was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are great size, hotel is quiet breakfast is breakfast… What sets this hotel way above any other that I have stayed in is "Jahaira" the Lady on the reception. What a pleasure, really an absolute pleasure = always a smile nothing a problem. Offering recommendations for restaurants… Advising on transport options… Even booking a Greyhound Bus for me… Then a cab… WOW amazing service and always with a smile. I have stayed all over the World and this lady this hotel felt like being an old friend… So thank you for making my stay so far from home a great experience… I will return to Brownsville and I will stay here… So see you soon :-)

Very nice stay. Everything was as expected and the breakfast was actually pretty good.

Nice place with good staff. But a few sugar ants were found roaming my room.

The staff were friendly and professional, rooms are comfy, and great breakfast.

Older lady running the nightly social hour could be a bit more sociable. We were hanging out in the foyer to get some time in out of the room and her sarcasm toward children could have been better presented.

While not new, offers all the services of a hotel express and is very close to the mol of Brownsville.

Great Hotel to stay in a Suite.

Decent for a Holiday Inn. Comparable to the one on South Padre, but much lower in price. Breakfast at 6:30 was good because I could actually eat in the morning before work. I deduct a star because of the stupid bar across the river. Loud bass could be heard through the walls all Saturday night, I was not happy.

Worst breakfast of all the holiday inns I've stayed at. I've been to ihg hotels in almost every state over the last few years with my job and this one did not impress. I booked a non smoking room and signed the waiver that I wouldn't smoke. I get to the room and it smells like an ash tray. I switched rooms and it smelled like mildew. The breakfast bar didn't have gravy the whole time I stayed there. The pancake machine was down the whole time also. This was during the pancake in the evenings promotion also. They never served bacon and the juice machine made strange tasting juice. I stayed on the second floor and had little to no Wi-Fi service in the room. I had to go downstairs to send my work emails because it kept disconnecting me upstairs. I know it sounds critical, but again, as a frequent patron of ihg, this place doesn't meet my expectations.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, convenient amenities like Wi-Fi, pool, and free breakfast. My family was impressed that the breakfast was actually pretty good and contained hit items and not just a continental breakfast. Also we made use of the complimentary shuttle service to/from the airport. They use a voucher system with a local taxi company for this service. Since I have a family of six, it was nice that we could get one room that accommodated all of us. That can sometimes be hard to find.

I rent the party hall this past Saturday. My Nephew (16 years old) went to the restroom flushed the toilet and water was coming out and we notified immediately to front desk twice never came. Then I went twice to notified them and they were on there way. Housekeeping and a girl infront came with to check it out. After they saw the water they went for a mop and white bath towels to clean the floor and the carpet. My dad had to close the water pipe because staff took time to come and the carpet was getting wet already. It look horrible with the towels on the floor. Notified them to pick them up due to the party almost starting. Staff took towels to the restroom and closed the restroom. After the event the Hotel Manager stated that we damage the carpet and was not going to return the deposit. I have called the owner leaving messages and no call back. Manager stated that we had alots of kids and that kids put the white towels in the toilet and that is why the water was coming out. The party didn't even had started and manager was not aware because doesn't work on the weekends. Plus, the staff that was cleaning saw that there was no towels and no paper only water in the restroom. I told the front desk if she can explain to the owner to ask the workers there and to check the cameras to see what happen and have no answer back. Manager didn't even listen to what we were saying and was treating us really bad and rude. I was in shock of the service. I have had parties there before.

Thanks be to God. Very good service. And very comfortable, position between brownsville and south padre Island. Only that if you book by internet or telephone, the recommendation is to "confirm the day following the reservation, the payment made if you use card, and the terms and notes that you have defined" (as if I book for a day and you will arrive later than the time of check inn, which we take into account the fact). Otherwise very good hotel for its category. Recommended.
