UPDATE: They’ve dropped one of the fraudulent charges but have still charged me $381.88 more than I agreed to pay, which is only one penny off from the exact amount they quoted for 4 nights in 1 room. It’s very clear they charged me for a 3rd room that I did not agree to pay for and are now refusing to refund me, refusing to talk to me, refusing to do anything to fix this. They’re taking advantage of people during a disaster situation, lying, and stealing from people when they have no other place to go and desperately need their money to repair their broken homes.

Comfort Suites Lake Ray Hubbard has now stolen several hundred dollars from my bank account due to an error made by one of their employees. I agreed to pay for 2 rooms for 3 nights. They claimed that would cost me a total of $632.82. They initially did only put 2 pending charges (1 for each room) on my account, but then that charge fell off and now I’ve got a string of charges on my account that total up to $1050.17. That’s $417.35 more than I agreed to pay. I’ve been trying to get them to do something about it for 2 days now — They claim the manager isn’t there, but when I call back at the times they say she’ll be there, she’s still not there. I’ve called their corporate number, but they couldn’t care less and just tell me I have to handle it through the hotel. They claim they didn’t charge any extra money, but their transaction history doesn’t match what they took out of my account.

They were very helpful and very inviting. No hassle to check in at all.

Nasty carpet, toilet didn't shut off, mold on the window trim, bathtub cracked and rusty, Wi-Fi weak, train track on the other side of parking lot, in need renovated really really bad and our room SMELLED! I wouldn't stay there again…

I checked into the Comfort Suites Lake Ray Hubbard on July 9th. After three nights, we found a COCKROACH in the bathroom. When I told the front desk about the incident, they asked “was it only one? ” When I replied “yes, but I’m not comfortable staying anymore nights”, she offered no compensation or anything. The customer service was down right awful and yes, bugs happen, but I expected some sort of remorse or offer with a new room. Nothing. We were left to figure out a new hotel room, on the weekend mind you, and had to take time out of our vacation to do so. Update:
After getting home from vacation, I have called Choice Brands and the hotel and they think reimbursing me for only one night (the night of finding the cockroach) is acceptable because it was only one cockroach.
Awful customer service and awful place to stay. Be aware.

Overall the hotel is great, but my rating is based on two factors. Wi-Fi and the pool. Wi-Fi is basically non existent, and I’ve spent hrs on the phone with tech support at Deep blue, and they just keep giving me a runaround and saying they are sorry it’s not working. Pool is not properly maintained it’s been closed most of the week because the pool company didn’t properly maintain it! Other than that the staff is great.

In general the establishment was nice and everything is indoors. The parking lot has outstanding lighting at night. I felt very safe going out to my car while it was dark outside. The breakfast was very good, offering a decent variety of both hot and cold breakfast items and everything I tried tasted good. However, of the two rooms we were in, they were a bit lacking. Various furniture was rickety, breaking, or broken. The closets were practically useless as the safe was attached to a pedestal attached to the floor in the dead center of the small closet. That safe effectively took up all the floor space and half the height of the closet so you couldn't put a suitcase in or hang anything in there longer than a shirt or pair of shorts. The complimentary shower liquids came in tiny bottles that had about 3ml of product and when you tried to open the cap, the whole screw on lid would pop off instead. Both rooms had an iron and ironing board but one iron was useless as it didn't heat up all the way and was leaking water droplets out of the steam holes, regardless of the steam setting, while the other iron could not consistently produce steam. The rooms were very humid and muggy, even after running the AC unit all evening, night and morning. That seemed odd to me since the rooms did not open up to the outside. Lastly, and the worst part of it all by far, was the cockroach (es) running around the room.

Place seems a bit dated and breakfast isn't great, but you get what you pay for. It's in a nice area and a good stay all around.

Not so comfortable. No working Wi-Fi. No working remote. No working hot water… well about half the time… it was a roll of the dice. Pool was closed first day. Breakfast waffles were good… Everything else was ok.

Stay far away. The customer service at this place is unheard of. Hannah gives attitude the moment you enter the building. She Doesn't even know how to operate a computer. And says no one is allowed to speak to manager. Then you call corporate and then you see where she got those awesome customer service skills from. I would give a negative 5 if it allowed.

Good convenient location "by the lake", includes nice hot breakfast. Bass Pro complex with nice lakeside eating places is just one exit away.

The beds are very comfortable, room is clean, staff is friendly, pool is clean, air conditioner is cold and refreshing. Wonderful on these hot humid days. Great price and Great view! I would gladly stay again and would recommend to others.

It needs an upgrade on most of its stuff I managed to sleep on a broken bed middle of the night flipped me out of it and then I had an office chair almost go completely back on me other than that the lady that was there on the weekends Hannah was amazing at accommodating and can carry on an awesome conversation!

Great view! Helpful, courteous staff. Large group of young male guests left trash everywhere and loitered smoking at entrances.

The front desk associates were nice and friendly, housekeeping needs a bit more training. I originally booked a room with the jetted tub when I made it to the room it was obvious that the jets hadn't been cleaned at all from previous guests, I then asked for a room without the jetted tub which was much better other than the few stands hairs left inside it and on the floor which had obviously not been swept or mopped. The bed was very comfortable and cozy. I didn't care much for the smoking club that hung out right outside the exit door next to my room half the day and the nite watching your every move they weren't very welcoming at all had it not been for the storm I would have left sooner… I didn't get to go to breakfast either morning for trying to beat the smoke from the smoking club out the closest door to my room without having to walk all the way around the building again.

Rooms were very clean, beds were very comfortable and no signs of bed bugs at all! Close to gas and Churches Chicken and a Barbeque restaurant inside the Circle K that next door. They have free continental breakfast that very good fresh scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage and waffles.

Really nice place, but really hard to get to. Someone has written on the ceiling. And the doorknob would fall off in my hand. But it was clean and the bed was comfortable and that's all I needed.

The lady that reserved my room, booked it for the night before.
So when we showed up they said we were filed as a “No Show” and therefor couldn’t refund us and wanted us to pay again.
I’m sorry but one chance and that’s it.
Get it together or have a GM that actually wanders their phone.
We went down the street and saved $30 and had our room all set.

Room was clean and tidy. Housekeeping staff was always available to assist. Breakfast was sufficient.

The party room was just the right size for the party I had attended. It was very clean and the lobby had an amazing chandelier! Would go back if the opportunity presented itself.

I stayed here for almost 6 weeks after I had a fire in my home. It was a very good experience. The staff was very nice and housekeeping was very good. Any issue was addressed immediately. I asked for a quiet room and they gave me a very good room on the third floor almost directly above the lobby. I really enjoyed their free breakfasts, with their little waffle maker that makes Belgium waffles in the shape of Texas. It was a good experience during a very stressful time in my life.

When my Mother and I returned to the hotel late Saturday night, the room was cool. We turned the heater on and the room immediately filled with an acrid smell and the smoke detectors went off. The smell and the cloud of dust caused my elderly Mother to have a severe asthma attack. I called the desk and the attendant told me to open the window and she would bring up a fan to force the dust out. We were cold and my Mother could not breath. I set her in the office chair and put her in the hall with a blanket wrapped around her. The clerk said she could not move us to any other room, but when she saw how affected my Mom was she "checked with her supervisor" and moved us down the hall but told us we were "not allowed to use the heater". I went into the room to gather my and my Mother's luggage and was exposed to the dust for several minutes. The next morning fully dressed and ready to go to the family event I sneezed blood onto my shirt and had to change. I sneezed blood several times Sunday and feel that it was caused by the poor maintenance of your heater. I almost had to call an ambulance for my Mom but took her outside in the cool air and her breathing became easier. The room we were moved to had a nasty spot on the carpet right by the bed side table and I dropped my earring onto it. At check out, there was no compensation for the horrific experience and I asked about it, the lady knocked of $25.00. That was ridiculous and I will never stay at this hotel again!

Stayed two nights, no hot water only warm. Good cold air. Nice room definitely time for bathroom renovation. Staff really nice and helpful.

The location is good. It appears that the 2nd floor hallway had recently been painted. Our room had a musty odor, we almost asked to change rooms, but stuck with our room. The bed was pretty uncomfortable, neither of us slept well. The TV was about ready to quit, the contrast was way off but contrast adjustments did not help. The shower was too cool for my wife's shower, but later it was fine. I'll stay somewhere else the next time.

Free Wi-Fi isn't bad. Free coffee was good. Bed was comfortable. Good sound proofing.

Some nice points. Some not so great. I'm not a particularly picky guest, but I expected better for the price. Positive: *Room was very clean except for a few spots. *Bed was great. Very nice sheets and pillows. Very comfy. *Friendly desk clerk. *Breakfast had a decent variety of hot and cold food but definitely could have been better. Negative: *A/C didn't cool at all in first room. Had to move to another room. A/C worked in 2nd room but didn't quite keep the room cool enough. *Decor tried to be fancy but comes off as trying too hard on a slim budget. *Wi-Fi was intermittent. *Some areas needed cleaning: elevator floor had dirt and litter, hallways needed vacuuming, inside surface of room door needed cleaning as it appears a previous guest had a dog that licked the bottom left quadrant of the door, and tub mat had mildew around the edges. *Some of the painting was rather sloppy and incomplete. *Door hand to bathroom worn out. *Breakfast: gravy had very little flavor and coffee was weak and did not have a good flavor. Most of the negatives were pretty minor, but as I said, I expected more for the price. They need to step up their game just a bit.

It's very relaxing place here, I got the room I asked for, third floor facing the lake. Perfect! On the other hand, the Business PC and Wi-Fi need improvement.

I came to Dallas for the 2nd time and this time I got my 14 year old daughter… the weather was amazing! but the Room was better! … lol… The view of the lake is breathtaking… The free breakfast always freshly made! the pool was good as well… And everything was GREAT! … I STAY FOR 7DAYS!

I made my reservation of a Jacuzzi room to celebrate for a BIRTHDAY before traveling to get my children the next day. I was told the room I reserved through a third party should not have been booked and I wouldn't be able to rest my head even though I showed a confirmation for the room type that they obviously had available… Maybe it was a blessing in disguise because a little old lady had come downstairs from her room on the 3rd floor to complain of the ice machine not working on each floor.

Nice rooms and decor. Free breakfast in the morning. Coffee available 24 hours a day. Right on thee lake. Conceive store very close and easy to access.

Can you say deferred maintenance? You see it everywhere. Elevator broke down while I was on it, had to wait for maintenance to lower it down with hand crank. That was on Monday July 4. Posted sign said it would be out til Wednesday. Carrying four nights worth of luggage down three floors, not so much. Mildew on the shower curtain that was hanging too low in the tub, carpet stains everywhere you looked, room doors equipped with lock/handle assemblies that barely worked, stains on the bed coverlet, AC leaked condensate, on & on & on. These were issues left in plain view where everyone can see them. I can only imagine what kind of condition things that you can't see are in, i. E. The mechanicals of an elevator. The proximity to Bass Pro Shops and Lake Ray Hubbard should give this property more than enough traffic to support it and provide enough revenue to keep it in shape. Sad. Truly sad.

I usually choose Comfort Suites because of the setup of the rooms, love their free breakfast & the rooms are usually clean & comfortable. This particular location has a beautiful view of Lake Hubbard from our suite. The only negatives that I can point out are: they had double beds instead of queen beds; super high beds (imagine 2 thick mattresses stacked together! ) & not meant for people shorter than I am; then their fitted sheet is barely covering the top mattress so more than the lower half is bare; the top sheet is barely wide enough to cover the bed & you could tell they are old sheets! Are they twin size top sheets? An update of bedsheets is highly recommended as well as badly needed; I suggest deep pocket bedsheets to cover your super high mattresses. The bathtub also looks like it badly needs repair; the rust around the fixtures are showing and you can tell they tried to cover it with white paint that's almost peeling. The toilet got clogged in the AM before we checked out. This is the first time we encountered such issues in this hotel chain; issues that can easily be fixed by the management.

Went to spend the weekend with some friends and got a room last minute. Ended up getting a handicap room (not ideal but it worked. ) Lots of room, very clean, and overall a great room for a decent price!

The staff were friendly and all. It's just the pictures of the hotel were all deceptive. The hotel is very old and is out dated. The curtains has holes in them and look as though they have been hanging up for at least 15 years. The walls in the room were dirty and there was someone else's hair on the bathroom floor. All the reviews gave this hotel a 4 out 5 for the life of me I can't understand why. I booked this room because in the pictures it has a jetted Jacuzzi in the room… well it does, however it has cracks in it, it has rust on the Jacuzzi sprays and drain. It looks as if it has been patched many years ago. The patch work looks as if is was done by a kindergartener. The Jacuzzi was so disgusting my husband and I didn't use it. We were going to stay 2 days at this hotel but it was so disgusting we only stayed 1. And with this 1 day we checked in after 3p. M. Don't believe what is online about this hotel don't believe the pictures or ratings. I think all the pictures were either airbrushed or photoshopped. This hotel has free breakfast I'm too afraid to try it. We will cut our losses and find another hotel for the 2nd day of our mini vaca.

Several of my family members woke up with bug bites and they didn't even offer to comp the rooms. Bad customer service!

The housekeeper named Maria was a great help. I was needing assistance at the front desk and she noticed me waiting for a long time without anyone coming to the front. She rang the bell for me, since it was hidden behind the desk and when someone finally came to help me, he had her go grab me a towel, even though she was busy mopping. I appreciated her help and hard work when no one else was around. The hotel itself was fair for the price.

Hotel 'manager' was incredibly rude to us because we had 2 small children. Asked that they not speak or be loud because they were at capacity and didn't want the kids to make any sound. Wasn't pleased AT ALL with our customer service.

Overall good experience. The hotel was updated and clean. However, the location is pretty odd and driving to restaurants (other than the Dickey's BBQ and Church's located in the gas station next door) can take quite a while.

Went to check in last night 4-1-16 the lady 3-11 at the front desk was so rude and disrespectful we ended up sleeping in our truck because she would not let us check in because she wanted commission off the room and I was using a discounted rate! I'll Never go back and I make this trip yearly! Holiday Inn all the way!

The pull out bed was very small. The room logically only had room for three, though it's billed as sleeping 4. My youngest even thought about sleeping on the bench.

Room 1 safe didn't work. Moved promptly to room 2. Knob on fridge broken, day 2 had to fix toilet handle, washer came off. Night 3 TV just went out. No basketball = u happy.

Nice clean hotel friendly staff, however the Jacuzzis need to be cleaned and repaired thoroughly.

Rooms were a little smsll, but nice. JOTEL offered free HOT breakfast. Very nice change over " free continental breakfast". Front desk was HORRIBLE tho. Liz was complaining to every guest checking in that " she was too busy to do this. She couldn't get a bresk. She was tired. She didn't hsve room keys to give us. The insurance companies should have people down h ed email to do sll the paperwork for the tornado victims checking in, that is not her responsibility. She was ready to quit. She wasn't coming back tomorrow. " All the front desk lady, Liz, had to say was complaining! Did NOT make a good first impression for the hotel.

Very nice and clean. A lot more quiet than I thought it was going to be with the interstate right beside it but I can't even hear it in my room. The hot breakfast is amazing… lots to choose from.

This awesome hotel offers pet stays with their masters and allowed us to truly enjoy our holiday visit! Mgr. Liz was all too helpful and a wonderful hostess! I truly recommend this hotel to feel the care of having your mom looking out after you! The maid service was exceptional as well as I didn't want them to bother us nor our dogs, and anything we needed was there simply for the asking. The ample breakfast got us through to a late lunch. Every day of our stay, too. These reasons are why we are and will continue to look forward to being repeat customers! ****Keep in mind that as long as visitors are responsible with and clean up after their pets they will be welcome again and again.

The location is nice, it has a good view of Lake Ray Hubbard. Everyone is nice enough, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. Wi-Fi works really well as well.

It's a good hotel! Nothing necessarily spectacular, but I've never had an issue or anything.

We will NEVER stay at Comfort suites ever again! First off the staff was rude and unwelcoming. Then when me and my three children walked into our room being burglarized they wouldn't even call the police. We warned them about the homeless couple staying by the dumpster and were told they would do nothing about it! We decided to stay since we tracked the burglar down and retained him till the cops arrived not wanting to disrupt our lil ones. And were only compensated the night we were burglarized and no one came to our room not even for towels or trash removal. Horrible experience!

My family stayed at this hotel for a wedding we had in Rockwall. They were nice enough to let us into a room a couple of hours earlier than regular check in time and the staff we encountered was nice. But that is about were the good part of this hotel ended. Our first assigned room hadn't even been touched by housekeeping. Our second room was better but there were HUGE grease stains on our headboard and you can tell the room especially the bathroom had had several low dollar repairs. Our showed curtain was ripped, shower bar was glued to the wall, towel rack was almost our of the wall. My sister and her husbands room the shower curtain had been cut at the bottom like there was mold there previously and they couldn't bother replacing it. Continental breakfast the next morning was sad. Staff had to be told ALL coffee containers were empty, had a hair on the spoon used to dip eggs. I don't think we will be staying at a Comfort Inn in the future.

For the price, it was a very nice room with a view of the lake — close to nice Restaurants in Rowlett. The furnishings are modern and updated. The jetted bath tub was nice and basically clean, the breakfast room and food was good by hotel food standards. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Several months before my sons wedding I spoke with the manager at this hotel about blocking rooms and a discounted rate. The manager told me she would block the rooms and gave me the discounted rates on the back of her card. I called 2 mos before the wedding to ensure everything was setup and was told she no longer worked there. I spoke with Chet the new manager and he said he couldn't block rooms without a signed contract and a credit card. I explained that I didn't know how many guests I would have coming at that point and time and couldn't understand why I had to put down a cc. He said that if the blocked rooms were not utilized that I would be responsible and my cc would be charged. He never once said he was sorry for the inconvenience from the 1st managers wrong information or ever attempted to make it right. After arguing back and forth, I finally told him to forget it that I would go somewhere else that wanted our business. He told me that it wasn't fair for the hotel to block rooms till a certain date and not get paid for them. I then left and went to the Best Western down the road that took care of us. They didn't require a cc or contract to block rooms and were very customer friendly and overly helpful. I will never stay at a Comfort Suites or say anything nice about their hotels. Chet the manager does not know the meaning of customer service or have any etiquette when it comes to working with the public.

With a discount coupon for $65, it's OK. Undergoing renovation and paint smell is strong. Dingy furniture and noise freeway. Workout room basically not functional yet or ever.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The pictures on the website (above) are so nice. Wish I would have experienced "that" hotel. We stayed here for a few days while in town — upon arrival (about 11pm) we noticed that the side doors were unlocked. That’s ok during the day but at 11pm on a Saturday night just off the highway? Trash and food littered the hallways. Told the desk clerk the following morning about the filth and 24 hours later all of the debris was still in the hallways. Our room was missing the TV remote and seemed to have barely been cleaned before checking in. We put a sign on the door to please clean the room on day 2 — this never happen. In fact we asked the front desk to please have the room cleaned while we would be gone for the day — were assured this would be done. Upon returning to the room five hours later the room was still dirty. We travel a lot (family all around the country) and I have never – ever – experience a hotel so terrible. If you can stay somewhere else then we STRONGLY advise you do so. We have stayed at the LaQuinta in Rockwall several times and always had a very positive experience. I regret not having stayed there this past trip. Live and learn ….
