My family and I were traveling from New Orleans back home. We made a reservation to stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Memphis Germantown as our midway for September 22nd to September 23rd for 2 rooms with 2 queen beds. Upon our arrival the lobby area smelled as if a dirty mop had been used to mop the floor and there was a basket of brown bananas. As I went to check in, I was given our two rooms on the 2nd floor. I asked the front desk person what door is best for us to enter to ensure my mother in law didn't have to walk too far. I was told by the lady that our rooms are on the 2nd floor. I said I understand but what part of the second floor. She told me she didn't know where our rooms were located and it was her first night. I then asked if she could tell us what local pizza restaurants would deliver to this location. She proceeded to tell me to use the DoorDash or GrubHub app to find that out. As we proceeded to go to our rooms, my father in law was putting items in the refrigerator in their room and found a container of some type of food that was frozen from a previous person that stayed. I had to use the restroom so I went into my room and found there was bowel floating in the toilet from a previous person. We also noticed that both rooms didn't have queen beds they had double beds. We were exhausted from being on the road for 6 hours and just wanted to eat and relax. We finally got our food and 3 of the 5 of us decided to go to the pool.
Don’t stay here! They don’t clean anything in the rooms!

I am a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite Member who has been staying at this property for six years with no prior issues, until this most recent stay. The first room I was given (King Bed as reserved) had a non-functioning air conditioner so I requested another room. I was moved to a two-Double which was absolutely disgusting. Furniture was worn. Air conditioner and curtain were covered in dust. Floor was stained and had toenail clippings on it. Shower curtain was moldy. I left after one night, checked out, and moved to the Fairfield in Marion, Arkansas (great stay there). Awful, right? But even worse is being charged for a third room for four nights that I never set foot in. Hotel staff and management offered ZERO cooperation. Even more surprising was ZERO support from Marriott Corporate. “New” management (Crestline Hotels) beginning in October actually told me they were “refusing” to assist guests with prior issues. Garbage property with even worse support from management and ownership. Skip it (and the Residence Inn next door also owned by Crestline) and stay somewhere else.
