This hotel was great and couldn't be in a better location! I'm giving 3 stars for 2 reasons. First I had to pay 32.00 a day for parking — which wasn't made clear when booking the room. Furthermore according to information online, parking is listed as one of the hotel amenities… This is very confusing. I wasn't prepared for this, so, the per day cost along with tipping the valet guy — cost me more then I had budgeted. I also felt some what trapped. The only other parking options — were even more of a hassle. Next we were looking for recommendations for dinner. We asked the guy at the front desk (who also checked us in) he was young and very know-it-all, pretentious… He recommended Tommy Condons — which is a hole in the wall Irish Pub and Henry's — which is another bar and grill —. Not the top choices for diners to eat at while in Charleston. I am a former local and wouldn't have gone to those places for anything more than a casual lunch. He proclaimed it didn't get any better then that in the entire city of Charleston!? While these restauarnts are merely okay, they certainly are not the crowning jewels of Charleston's thriving culinary scene… This guy does not need to be recommending restaurants or be involved in any type of concierge services. I worked in the hospitality scene in Charleston for years — several years ago — (little did this guy know) and he came off rude, uninformed and not too smart… Needless to say we went to Halls Chop House and had an amazing dinner. No thanks to him. Shout out to the valet guys who were totally awesome and personable. Management should consider putting one of them behind the front desk and sending this other guy off to clean rooms where he has no contact with the public.
