Beyond expectations, super clean, nice breakfast, indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub you definitely can say that the management does care about the place, highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.

The Islander Inn is a wonderful place… however they have a huge pest problem. We discussed the issue with the owner, and have received a refund. The location, and the employees are wonderful… but we didn’t enjoy killing roaches during our stay. Enjoyed the beautiful ocean views, and the rooms were very pretty! Thank you Islander Inn for the refund. That did help rectify the situation. However we will look elsewhere for our next trip.

Stayed at the Islander Inn this week for the second time this year. Staff was very nice. The room was clean and bathroom well stocked. They have pet friendly rooms.

It was a nice place to stay for the price. The ocean view was amazing! Outdoor pool was nice. Staff was friendly.

Our refrigerator was not working well… reported to front desk and in one hour new fridge in place!

Lost our best friend — 8 year old Reese-our black labrador DAUGHTER (we love her so much) her lungs filled up with blood and there was nothing we could do but suffer. They made us leave. I cussed out the manager in charge and the awful assistant beside him who put up her hand in front of my phone when I pulled out a picture of her. They may be awful but they got put in their place. Housekeeping looks at you like they want to slice your throats. Weve been here 5 different weeks since 2019 and that has never changed. This is more like a 1 star hotel with garbage linens now. Keep your eye on the housekeeping. Management will be replaced one day with someone who terrible maybe. Were just going to go back to renting — this was a downhill journey that ended with my soul being hurt badly by a couple of idiots. The verbal beating I gave them that kept them backing up gave me a win God bless US. You people are horrible and our bank called the place to confirm these things and charged back our entire stay and we paid NOTHING.

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night getaway at the Islander Inn. Our room had very well thought out amenities. The staff was very polite and helpful. Great place to stay. It's right on the beach and the staff is very accommodating. Rooms are nice and air conditioned. Definitely recommened staying here if wanting to visit.

Great oceanfront room for a great price! Clean and the house keeping was quick! I received my extra towels and blankets asked for! Only reason I gave 4 stars is due to the pool having no lighting after dark and my bed was extremely bouncy. Still slept just fine.

The rooms were very clean, it was quiet even though we had 3 young kids. The front desk even helped us out by buying a new battery for our key fob when it died! Will definitely stay again!

Nice quiet place. Room was very clean. Nice breakfast included. Smart TV in the room which was nice. Kitchenette and refrigerator were very small and water pressure wasn't all that great but for the short amount of time we were actually in the room it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. Would stay here again.

My time here was fair but I would of choose somewhere else if it wasn't the last place available. While showering, water would get cold after 2 minutes. Had to turn water off and wait then turn it back on. If you like water pressure, this isn't the place to be. Couldn't wait to get home to feel good water pressure and hot consistent water. The paint was also peeling off the wall right above the bath tub stall which is a possibility for mold growth. Across the street parking is terrible. Good luck finding a parking spot on the concrete where the hotel sits if you get back after 9pm. Limited counter space in bathroom. Soundside rooms are not worth 200$ a night. Breakfast was below average, their frozen biscuits killed my stomach. I came at 1130am asking for a possible early entry. The nice lady said come back at 1pm and it should be ready which was fine. I get back and the guy at the front desk said come back at 2pm and should be ready. Got back at 230pm and still wasn't ready, waited till 255pm and it was finally ready. If you don't think you can have the room ready, then don't tell me to come back over and over again and waste my gas, simple. In my room, the bed stand was messed up on my side so I couldn't sleep near the edge because the bed would sink and feel like I'm rolling off. No I'm not overweight, just a usual fit guy. I wouldn't recommend it unless it's the last available hotel in this location.

Oceanfront rooms are reasonably priced. Complementary breakfast has many options. Indoor and outdoor pools and grounds are clean. Staff seems nice. Not many elevators so be prepared to walk up steps. Of course some things needs updating, but it’s to be expected. Nothing major. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return. Very close to the pier and the beach is not crowded. Parking is convenient. I would recommend staying here.

Great hotel! Its clean and smells good. The continental breakfast was good. It didn't have a very good variety of food though. Beautiful view of the beach!

We stayed here in February 2017 and absolutely loved it! So we decided to stay here again June 2018. Well this time they put us in what apparently is the pet building! We were in the middle room between 2 rooms that had little ass yapping dogs that barked constantly! 1. If you are going to bring your dog on vacation then dont leave it in your room all day to annoy the other guests! 2. Get a real dog and not a frigging annoying little ankle biter! So I called the front desk and they told me that I was in the pet building so I could expect to hear dogs! That would be great except I didnt bring a pet! So I guess if you bring a pet then its allowed to make all the noise it wants! We WILL NEVER stay here again! Do yourselves a favor and find a room at another hotel or rent one of the many beautiful houses! Stay away from this Islander Inn, unless you like dogs as they seem to be more important here!

Marty, so called manager had no solution to the problems we are having. We are getting ready for a wedding in a room with only one power outlet. The guests have spent thousands of dollars here and no one is happy. Hundreds of dollars and countless hours wasted on makeup and hair because they changed our room mid storm on the complete other side of the hotel and they blame Mother Nature. The problem is the lack of customer service and rude management. No one has even called to see if everything is okay and the bride is devastated. This has been an uphill battle since arriving and even our guests from japan are left to “figure it out”. This is a terrible experience and we don’t recommend this hotel in the morning.

I really was shocked at this hotel and the staff. It is hard for me to pay $200.00 a night at a place like this. The tiki bar only opened one day the pool had trash and junk all around it. The old furniture from rooms left in halls. Sprinklers where on about 930-10 and girl behind desk said I didn’t know they were on? This was a BIG disappointment for me. I could go on and on but to make it simple looks like you put a band aid on a old hotel and tried not to spend any money. Hope this help you improve.

Stayed here for part two of our honeymoon. Right on the ocean with a beautiful view from our patio. The a/c worked awesome which was great for sleeping since it's so hot and humid on the coast. Not too fancy but not shabby either. Perfect for the price to be within steps of the ocean. Loved the tiki bar at the pool. Would stay here again if we ever get back down to NC.

Great rooms, on the beach, nice indoor and outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Close to shopping, food, and the pier. Dog friendly. Had three flights of stairs going up to the room the in the dog building. And elevator was all the way at the other end. I enjoyed it but got my exercise on those stairs.

I was there for my daughters wedding, which was held by the pier. The hotel itself was great, but the maids were very disrespectful of the guests. They never cleaned our room or changed the towels. I had to go to front desk and ask for some. Also, at 9 Saturday morning they were very loud and carrying on. When I went to exit my room to go get my daughter ready for her ceremony I couldn't leave, because they had our door blocked with trash and laundry baskets. 3 maids walked by, looked at me, but never made an effort to move anything. I even said excuse me. My daughter even had a problem the next day with them and she was in another part of the building. It's unfortunate that due to the disrespectfulness of maids I will most likely not stay here when I return in July.

Older property but we'll maintained. Prepare to walk a lot or go up flights of stairs. 1 elevator but 7 buildings with continuous walk through. Very nice staff and great location.

The pool and hot tub were very nice The rooms had a beautiful view. The service was great. And finally the stay was wonderful. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because there is some improvement that could be made with the maintenance side of the business.

Had a wonderful stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast was more than adequate, lots of choices. Pool and spa clean and uncrowded. Beach is well, just paradise.

This is a great little place right on the beach. They offer free breakfast in the morning and have a little area for you to sit and eat. The rooms are clean and we'll kept. The staff was informative and nice. We would recommend this place to our friends and family.

I just came from there after a weekend with my best friend. Room was booked thru Expedia and of course when we tried to check in it was not Ocean Front Room. After calling Expedia and being informed the room was booked as OF and on their end showed the hotel had 2 OF empty we were told that was not correct; they were full. So we ended up on the street side. Breakfast is good; danishes, waffles, packets of grits to make, fresh bananas and apples, coffee, juice and cereal.
Friday our room was still not cleaned at 2:00; so I asked housekeeping who were down the hall if they were coming back to our room. They told me we were not on the list and did we want them to clean. Daily housekeeping? So they came and cleaned.
Today when we checked out; keys were turned in and the girl at front desk just looked at me like what do you want. She told me we were good. No thank you for staying with us, hope you come back soon, no nothing.
I love the area and beach but they need some help with customer service.

We just got home! We absolutely loved the islander inn! Very nice staff. The breakfast was good with a wide selection. The room was Very cozy, comfy beds, clean and simple and the view was spectacular! Definitely a place we will be staying again!

Better than expected. The indoor pool and hot tub areas were nice, clean, convenient. The room was remarkably sound insulated, very clean, great working heating/air unit. Breakfast was ok, clean area, convenient times and location. The gazebo and walkway to the beach were just right as was the rinse area. I would recommend to others and would stay there again.

The place is great with a great view. The main downfall was when we woke up the floor was freezing and had a lot of moisture. So evidently the floor isn't insulated at all. Other than that a real nice place to stay.

It was a nice comfortable stay. Big rooms, decent breakfast, and right on the beach. I would suggest staying oceanfront, you get a nice balcony to enjoy the view.

We've stayed here now probably 8 times, mostly on weekend getaways. We never have brought any of our dogs but we know we could if we wanted. Never a bad stay here, wonderful staff, rooms are nicely outfitted, king or 2 queen beds, microwave, fridge, oceanfront, tiki bar by the outdoor pool (summer season only), indoor pool also. Close to restaurants, T shirt shops and it's quiet. Myrtle Beach nightlife is only 30-40 minutes away if you want to go raise hell somewhere. We will keep coming back here, we love it.

We come here every year in November. Clean rooms. Friendly staff (always helpful if I run out of coffee lol) and direct beach access. Amazing price. Pet friendly is the best part! And an elevator.

If you stay on top floor it's bare minimum hotel amenities. If you stay under someone your stay is miserable. Paper thin walls. You hear every step, toilet flush, banging of suitcases, loud talking and minimal concern from hotel staff. Will never recommend and spend a week here again. The only reason we stayed was it's the only pet friendly on the island. However we are moving to the island so we won't have to worry next time and will be sure to spread the word.

One star was only for the nice people I encountered when I checked in. When I checked in the male was extremely polite and informative and even when I called before hand the girl was extremely nice on the phone about early check in. I stayed in room 6105 ocean view. The bathroom was gross mold lining the shower and stained towels. Luckily I was there for a wedding 2 houses down and spent 99% of my time in that house with friends and family and did not spend much time in the room. There was a large sunken area of my room when you first walked in the door kind of like a sink hole when you stepped on the floor. Also my last night there, was some kind of bug crawling on the sheets. Needless to stay the view was amazing but I will not be returning to this hotel ever.

Booked my room in May after the Sunset Bch Run for October Ocean Isle run. Checked in after 7 pm, went to dinner, cane back to find a bedbug crawling on my pillow. I am so thankful that I went to dinner before going to sleep for the night. All area hotels we're full… I was provided a different room in a different bldg. I was still nervous about staying but I had no choice. I was offered half of the room rate as a refund. I accepted but felt like I should have been given the room with a full refund due to the inconveniences I endured. I may have to rethink where I will stay next time.

Rooms clean, staff friendly. Breakfast very continental nothing special. I requested ocean view and handicap accessible and got neither. Price was competitive. Could hear Guest’s above us walking all night.

Wifi sucks! Kids running back as forth above us! Rooms were not as advertised! We were over charged for our room. Phone in room doesn't work! TV screen fuzzy! No light at the pool at night! Pool deck dirty, found a wad of hair laying on the pool deck. That totally grossed me out! For the price we paid to stay here we should be staying in High Rise Hotel!

Lovely one night stay at the Islander. Quaint, older, well kept hotel. The rooms are clean — however if you were next to some noisy guests, you would probably hear them (we fortunately had quiet neighbors). There are two pools, one indoor and one outdoor which we didn't use. The free Continental breakfast was a nice surprise but don't expect anything too fancy. I don't think I would stay here for an entire week during peak season, but I would certainly stay here for 1 to 3 nights before needing more space from the other guests. I could also see myself staying here for an extended period during the off season.

This place had potential. It is a nice quick walk to the beach, and when I checked in, the gentleman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the walls of this hotel are paper thin, maybe because every room is joined with another room. We had neighbors that felt like they could talk in a normal voice, at midnight and on, and not wake us. The first night we were there, it startled me so badly because it literally sounded like someone was in our room. Needless to say, we didn't get a lot of sleep that week. Also, the tiki bar was hardly open, which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel over the one right next door. They did have a nice quick breakfast in the morning and the the rooms were kept clean on a daily basis. When I mentioned my concerns when we were checking out, the woman couldn't have cared less. We will not be going back to this hotel again.

I reserved an Oceanside room for a very reasonable price, and I absolutely loved it! This is the first hotel I have ever been in that I was reluctant to leave! The staff were great, the room was immaculate, the view from my balcony was nothing short off spectacular! I'm sitting outside now as I write this review. Wow!

If your main objective is to find pet friendly accommodations with spectacular ocean views, this is the place. You'll just have to be willing to overlook some things. The last building in the complex is designated for pets. This is likely due to the level of noise. There is no sound barrier whatsoever, which means you hear barking dogs throughout, as well as people talking in the hall and adjoining room. The rooms are dated but adequate. The private balcony outside the ocean front room is great for relaxing and watching the beach activity. Just look past the trash pile in the parking lot. I'm giving four stars strictly for the proximity to the ocean and the view.

Clean rooms, amazing view, extremely comfortable beds, plenty of parking, amazing value for the price. We'll never stay anywhere else.

We visited for a second time this past weekend (12/10/16). The oceanfront rooms offer amazing views, and the hotel is located near multiple attractions (the Pier, mini golf, Costal Carolina Museum, restaurants, beach shops). The room was large and everything was clean. Their breakfast is decent and offers variety. There was no one else using the pool or hot tub this time of year, so the privacy was nice. We also met a friendly calico cat by the outside pool. We have loved our winter stays here and are planning to try it out during the summer! Can't wait to sample from the tiki bar!

The hotel and location are nice. The room itself is nice and clean. The pool stays very loud even late at night and we had a lot of noise coming from the room above us (running and stomping). The worst part of our stay was the lack of hot water. For some reason the water ran cold or cool. Would probably stay again or may save money for a nicer hotel.

Not bad, don't expect fancy. (This entire line of inn's could use some renovations at this point. ) You're paying for location (right on the beach). But just a note, make sure you reserve an ocean view room. In my opinion, that makes all the difference.

Absolutely terrible. This was my second stay here and there is no way I would ever return (absent some serious updating to the property). My first stay was during off season in what I now know to be a renovated oceanfront room. I wasn't looking for luxury and the room was a fair price. I would have given the experience 3 stars at that time. I just stayed again with my husband and 4 month old baby. My brother in law and his family also stayed. We had 3 adjoining rooms. We were given rooms in the non-renovated part of the hotel. The carpet looked like it hadn't been replaced since 1970. It was seriously disgusting. The furniture was all old and stained. I had serious concerns about the cleanliness of the hotel, especially with such a young baby. We did not have hot water at all during our stay. Despite our complaining multiple times, the problem was not addressed until our last day. Bathing an infant in cold water is not my idea of a good time. We were not offered any offset for the price of our stay, which is unacceptable in my opinion. Hot water is not an amenity, it is a necessity. We added a day at the end of our stay. It took an unreasonable amount of interaction with hotel management to arrange the extension. We had to move rooms, which was inconvenient but understandable, given that it was high season and we added the extra day after initially booking.

Clean room and pools. Outdoor pool was much larger than expected. Tiki bar is affordable (specials were run both days we stayed 2 for $8 drinks). View of the pier from our room balcony. Bathtub/shower was spacious compared to other rooms we have had in the area. Breakfast is nothing special but waffles are available.

Really good experience from check-in to going home. The beach is fantastic, easy access to the rest of the island. The room was clean and nicely appointed, comfortable beds. The a/c was pretty loud, but if that's the only complaint things can't be bad.

Took the family on an impromptu long weekend trip to the coast in February. The hotel was very nice, clean and accommodating. They offer a simple but nice breakfast, and you can't possibly beat the beachfront location, especially for the price. Will come again.

It is insanely clean. The staff is very friendly. Very much exceeded my expectations for the price. I'm very impressed. The beach is almost empty during spring break. Only half an hour from Myrtle. Will probably return.

I really enjoyed it. It's in a wonderful location and I loved the pools. It was clean and I really liked the option to have your pet. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would recommend it to others.

The room with a balcony was perfect. Comfortable bed and pillows, very clean and well decorated, and the heater was quiet. I hate being woken by the heat or ac in a hotel room. The filks at the desk were very nice. We didn't eat breakfast but the offerings looked good. We will definitely return.
