This is an absolutely outstanding boutique hotel with 23 suites. I did not have dogs on my trip however others in my party did. I have never felt more welcome with our dogs than at this hotel. The rooms were 5 star. The staff was 5 star. I will only Stay here in the future with or without dogs.

Wonderful hotel downtown! The staff is friendly and helpful. Our suite was clean and well appointed. Beautiful bathroom! Comfy bed. We love the dog theme! Definitely would stay here again!

The POM was an absolute treat, truly welcoming for dogs in tow. Super nice property, rooms are spacious and well thought out on suite style rooms and ability to walk dog right outside. Warmed parking garage is a nice bonus too. Great staff always willing to help. 10/10

This little hotel is a dream come true for pups and their people. The wonderful staff, always on hand with treats and great recommendations, make you fee instantly welcome and at home in your weekend getaway retreat. The thoughtful touches in the well-appointed rooms make this a comfortable stay, and would entice you to stay in were it not for the walkable local area and its amenities 30 seconds from your door. High quality, luxuriously appointed rooms and fabulous hotel team make this a stay to look forward to again and again. This hotel isn’t just dog-friendly, it’s practically impossible to imagine being there without one. We brought our own pup, Pickles, with us and he loved it. We’ll be back! More info:

The Park on Main is absolutely stunning and extremely well-appointed. The cozy atmosphere made it difficult for us to tear ourselves away from the welcoming lobby. We weren’t traveling with pets, but had we been, our suite had a fluffy bed and bowl ready for furry companions. We were able to enjoy a light breakfast before heading out to shop. This may be my favorite hotel ever!

The Park on Main is a treat. The dog friendly atmosphere of the hotel and entire community is fabulous. The hotel was lovely and so accommodating. We definitely will return.

Great suite and super dog friendly. They even have a dog park! Our accommodations had a dog bed, dog bowl and dog towel. Right in the heart of town. Great place with or without a dog but if you have your dog it’s so awesome.

Nice location and people, however, not apparent on their website and most of the reviews is the hotel has 4 levels with one small elevator… garage, lobby and two levels for the rooms. Point is you are always dealing with stairs or the elevator. You can say this for most hotels, but the hallways, stairs, elevator, etc. Are much tighter than a Hampton Inn. I helped multiple seniors struggling with luggage as there is no porter/bellman to help. The parking garage has numerous columns and parking poles, the majority of the spots are narrow and some have height restrictions. Several steel parking poles are low and invisible to a truck or SUV. The hotel is well maintained and clean, but as said in other reviews the mattresses could be better. The breakfast is basic continental. They are very dog friendly which might be good for you… but you may sense a dog smell, may hear barking at night or suffer from dog allergies. I would rate it as dog friendly, but not senior citizen friendly. If you are very mobile, don't mind stairs and park outside or drive a small/mid size car, you may have a more positive opinion.

I would give this place 6 stars if I had the option. First, the rooms are immaculate; they’re clean, luxurious, and very dog friendly. Secondly, it’s right in the middle of downtown, most everything is walking distance from the place. Lastly, the staff is extremely helpful and courteous. We didn’t know much about the town, but they directed us to very fun sight-seeing activities and great local restaurants. I highly recommend this place if you’re searching for hotels in Highlands.

I had a lovely time staying at The Park on Main in Highlands, N. C. If any of you are looking for a dog friendly place to stay, this hotel is great. It is super comfortable and beyond clean. The bathroom is nice with all the luxuries needed and a big shower. There's a robe in the closet, iron, ironing board, and the sitting area has a Keurig and a refrigerator, along with bottled water. There's two televisions — — one in each room in the Queen suite. Oh — — and a private p…arking garage for this boutique hotel — — that's nice! I walked right next door to get some Asian food and strolled all down Main Street last night. I saw some sweet pups while here. I loved seeing they were fostering a sweet older lab when I arrived. I believe her name is Louise. I grabbed a muffin and coffee on my way out. There were quite a few other offerings for breakfast. The employees were friendly and very helpful. The outdoor patio area and fountains in the center of the hotel are peaceful and pretty. Highly recommend!

On every trip there is a place that you know will become one with special memories, one you will talk about to others and visit about in the future. The Park on Main and Mr. Pickles is one of those places. What a wonderful surprise and beautiful place to stay.

This is a pet friendly hotel and it truly caters to you pet. This was the first time we took our westie to a hotel and she loved it. She enjoyed meeting the people and other pets.

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel! Very classy and well appointed! We always stay at Old Edwards Inn but they were full this weekend. Found The Park on Main online and tried it out. SO glad we did! Everything is immaculate and nothing done cheaply! Rooms are amazing, classy, spotless, and very welcoming. Beds were awesome! We were a little worried about being a dog hotel with barking and cleanliness, but absolutely no worry there! We didn’t hear one dog and they were full. Saw plenty in the lobby tho. Not a trace of a dog in our room either. They know how to clean! Trust me, this is a very nice hotel! Excellent job Mr. Pickles!

Absolutely loved this place. The hotel was extremely clean and cozy. Our room was perfect. We could tell the owner and management of the hotel really care about every guest and that you have a great stay here. I would highly recommend!

My dogs amd my family love coming here! Cozy and has awesome amenities. The indoor parking was a blessing when it snowed.

It's been a great visit. Covered, free parking, well appointed rooms, nice lobby with comfortable chairs & a large fireplace. They are pet friendly & love dogs. Our room opens to a courtyard & we have a balcony.

I loved my last stay here and this time too! The staff is very helpful and courteous. The atmosphere is cozy. We've never had problems with our rooms. I brought my Yorkie puppy and she had a blast. It's a short, pleasant walk to the shops & restaurants. With a dog bed & bowl in the room, heated bathroom floors and comfortable beds, this hotel has everything you and your dog need to have a great stay.

Staff here is the nicest and most responsive to guest needs and inquiries (including pre — arrival emails). Rooms are very clean and comfortable, heated bathroom floors, refridgerators, Keurig machines, irons, safes. Private parking garage under the building.

I've stayed in some beautiful hotels worldwide! This is my favorite by far! I brought my Newfoundland with me, & he couldn't be happier! It's just the small things like a dog bed, & dog bowl, although the bed wouldn't fit my dog LOL — we brought his so he felt like he had the home comforts!
The place is impeccably clean, & most every person staying here has a dog with them, im not sure how they do it! We are already talking about coming back, I'm sure this weekend getaway will be talked about for years to come. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful property, Murphy thanks you too!

This is a really nice property in a fantastic mountain town. The rooms are huge and very nicely appointed (Suites actually with separate living rooms and bedrooms. ) It reminds me of a tiny Ritz Carlton without the room service, golf course or restaurant. Great place to stay in Highlands!

Great place. Room rates were a bit too high but had a nice picnic lunch in the rocking chairs outside anyways.

This is an excellent place to stay to enjoy all there is to enjoy in Highlands, NC. You can easily walk to all the shops and restaurants from this location. The fact you can bring your pets with no worries at all is an extra plus! It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! Staff is super accommodating to all your needs (and your pet's), it is pristine, beautiful rooms and grounds, and there is even a special enclosed park to take your dog and let them play! I can't say enjoy good things about this place.

Very nicely decorated hotel. Pictures of dogs and squirrels line the walls. I was happy to bring my dog who enjoyed the dog treats at the front desk. The Continental breakfast was nice which included fresh fruit, yogurt and breakfast breads.

The Park on Main was fantastic! I loved the location and the room was great. I will definitely be staying here again!

My wife and I stayed there last fall for the first time. Totally impressed with every facet of the place. From check-in to staff to the actual room, everything was simply wonderful. Worth the money. We will definitely be back!

A fantastic place to stay in Highlands! This was our first trip to Highlands and our first time at this hotel. The room was fantastic and the staff was excellent. Although there was a small hiccup with our room when we checked in, they took care of everything and made sure we were comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Highlands.

My mom and I stayed at Park on Main last night. It was incredible. We're both picky about clean rooms, and it would pass the white glove test. Mom slept in the king sized bed and had a great nights sleep. I took the sofa bed, and even it was comfortable! Heated bathroom floors, great linens… the list goes on of the little touches that make this place top notch. The staff and other guests were beyond friendly, and the hotel is within walking distance to all the best shops and restaurants on Main St. Too. We decided Highlands would be our new go-to spot to meet up once in a while, and Park on Main will be the place we stay. My only regret is that I got a pet sitter while I was away. My dog Dakota would have loved it, too! There was a water bowl and dog bed in the room (trust me, you'd never know a dog had ever stayed in the room). The décor throughout is very much dog-themed, but in such a classy way. So much so I wanted to get the name of the artist of a portrait in our room. If you're planning a trip to Highlands, don't stay anywhere else!

Hotel staff was very kind! We enjoyed our stay here. The courtyard is really pretty, and the King suite was comfortable and luxurious. Just a couple minute walk from downtown to all the shops and restaurants.

One of, if not the best hotel I've ever stayed in! I travel with my Pembroke Welsh Corgi, who loved the Orvis Dog bed that was in our room. The staff was wonderful, and very customer focused. The room was amazing, and beautiful. It truly reminded me of an quaint upscale New England hotel. The best thing is how dog friendly the whole hotel was, from the beds to the cute bowls to the adorable statues in the courtyard. I will definitely be back! My only suggestion is to make more locations. I would stay at this hotel over most (if not all) anywhere else, regardless of price. I have to admit, I'm a beach lover… and one of these with this kind of attention to detail and love for animals would be a MUST! Or maybe sell me a franchise! I would love that!. Thank you to the staff for making it a beautiful place to stay!

Great hotel in Highlands, NC. The price is great, the rooms are large and VERY clean (and the hotel is dog friendly — other than dog accessories, you wouldn't know dogs are permitted, it is very clean), rooms are updated and have heated floors. The parking garage is also indoors and is heated (great for when the weather is chilly). The breakfast is minimal. For the price, I would definitely recommend staying.

Awesome staff, decor, and location!

The Park on Main Hotel was the absolute perfect place to stay for our first visit to Highlands, NC. The hotel held up to every promise it made. The newly renovated suites were just amazing. We stayed in three adjoining rooms, two of which being Superior King Suites with fireplaces. The rooms were very spacious and had very comfortable high end furniture (very Ralph Lauren). They came equipped with brand new LED TVs and DirecTv in every room (perfect for the World Cup Matches). They also had a Mackenzie Childs Dog bowl and Orvis dog bed in each of the suites for the pets. The Lobby was also a highlight, the front desk and staff were great to work with and greeted us every time we passed through. They were also very helpful with providing insight on things to do in the area as we ate breakfast near the lobby fireplace each morning. Lastly I have to mention the garden or park in the center of the hotel, it was beautiful. I could not stop taking pictures of this area. Every time I walked out of our room, morning or night, I found myself admiring the lush flowers, gentle flowing fountains, and the quite sitting areas. The Park really is the crown jewel of the hotel. To sum it all up Perfect Location, Perfect Amenities, and a Perfect Staff.

The hotel was spectacular with a great vibe and slick rooms.
