This is a good hotel and very close and central to 34 and 42nd where it all happens.

The hotel location is great because is near a train station. Probably 2-3 mins walk and you see the 1st station. They don't have food service or breakfast, only coffee and it's served really late so this is why I'm rating 4 stars. They only have 1 card reader and wasn't working so we had to wait almost an hour for the check in but check out was fast and the staff was nice with our family. The room was always clean and the views are super (see photos). This is a good/normal hotel to visit N. Y, only to sleep, shower and eat outside. There are restaurants near for breakfast or dinner.

The pictures are deceiving as the rooms are quite small. The a/c did not work as well as needed on those scorching summer days and there was a humid smell. The staff was polite and the iced tea they provided was very good. Parking is also relatively easy to find.

First arrived and they tried placing us in a room style we didn't pay for. Took over an hour for them to figure out what to do. Never once apologized. then the room with kitchenette we payed for smelled of floor cleaner like crazy like they bum rushed to clean it. started seeing fruit flies all over the place. During the one night we where in this room I killed maybe 20-30 flies. Keep in mind we had 3 hours of sleep and a long flight before all this. Next day we see a huge patch of mold on ceiling in bathroom. Exactly where the room above us toilet has been leaking for a long time. Shower door was extremely difficult to open. Also there was a foot print on our bed we happened to notice the next day. We had the room posted as do not disturb so leads me to believe when they rushed to set the room they didn't change the sheet and we found other stains. Took hours to transfer us to another room with a kitchenette. No contract from management during all this as the only people on staff just check people in and out. Can't make any decisions for them self's. new rooms fridge barely gets cold can't even tell if it's working. The walls have dirt all over them. i'm pissed. We stayed here for a week 3 years ago and loved it. What the heck happened. Front desk told me they changed management.

Near the metro station, you can reach Times Square or any other destination in NYC. The breakfast was not included and I preferred it that way, I mean come on, I want to enjoy the taste of NYC. The room had a balcony with the view of the city landmarks. The room is tidy and clean, no fridge though however it smelled too much like cleaning detergent!. As for their service, it was good.

First I paid for a King and double and got a queen and double, unfortunately the beds were not comfortable. And I could hear everything outside and in other rooms. Doors open and close sound like someone is entering my room (it woke my fiancé up). Room was decent, Not very clean, but had a nice modern look. Gum on the vinyl floor in the room. Walls were all dusty in the room. Despite all that the staff was polite and very considerate. I️ would not recommend this hotel solely because it’s way too noisy. I️ underatand NY is loud, but to hear staff and other guests in other rooms is unacceptable. I️ guess that’s why I️ got such a good price.

Liked the vetiver Hotel. Stayed there 2 times. Good location, close to metro station. Nice stuff. Clean rooms.

Great price, staff is very accommodating. Perfect location if you plan on driving into the city. Most rooms have a little balcony or windows that open.

Hotel very well placed, right next to the subway. Ideal for not having to take the car. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Breakfast is pretty good. The insulation is poor but overall we had a very good stay.

I was going to give the hotel 4 stars, because it is clean, has friendly service, and you can tell they're making upgrades. However, the second night there I woke up in the middle of the night clearly able to hear our neighbor next door first arguing, then their sexual activities. And when I mean clearly, I mean that I could hear every single word. Additionally I don’t think the window in our room was completely installed because I could feel a breeze and kept trying to close it, but it was already closed. If you don’t mind thin walls, I would recommend this hotel (I happened to be traveling with children and was concerned about their possible experience) as it was fairly priced. It is very close to the subway; however, the subway is not stroller or wheelchair friendly (not the hotels fault).

Nice hotel but in an isolated place.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The beds are comfortable and the place clean enough. The thing is that if you have noisy room neighbours, you will hear everything. The wall are so thin that you really hear any sounds that is made outside. The first night it was the train. The second and third night, it was people speaking and screaming at 2:30 AM.
Also, there is no parking and honestly the surroundings are not the best.
I also thought there would be breakfast included since I read that somewhere, but it turns out they don't offer it, just coffee and tea.

Very good value and close to the Metro. Hotel a bit noisy on the other hand and the air conditioning/heating system is poorly done. In some rooms you have the wind in the face.

I booked a double bed deluxe room and got a free upgrade to executive room. Room was spacious and clean with open balcony side view. Hotel staffs were nice. Subway was 2 minutes walk in weekdays and 7 minutes in weekends. It took 20 minutes to NYC in subway. Location was good, few local stores and restaurants are available in just 5 minutes walk.

This is the worst hotel I’ve been in ever in my whole entire life. It took my family 2 hours to get a room with no explanation as to why we had to wait. I had a baby with me and we had to stay in a cold ass lobby for those whole two hours with all of our stuff. They said that they were over booked but we had made reservations online. The next day we go out and all of our personal belongings are gone from the room. They kept the important stuff stored in a staff closet in plastic bags but we had to buy some stuff over like waters juice, baby food, lotion ect. Turns out THEY only booked us for one day even though our reservation was clearly made for two. We were a few minutes late of checking out of this horrid place called a ‘hotel’ and they called the room 3 times and banged on the door like the police. When we got down stairs we didn’t have the slip for the $100 deposit because the cleaning people threw it it out and they gave us a hard time! Then the guy at the front desk said we were lucky that we didn’t get charged a fee for leaving late. The experience I had here with the staff is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced anywhere. I am beyond disgusted.

Good care cleaning and much change the rooms with their balcony in the quiet of its lift works, and you have spirits down in the large is recommended.

Came here on a whim on a random night in Brooklyn and was instantly greeted by Syad and his amazing iced tea. Being the fact that there are 6 hotels in a 6 foot radius of this place, we decided to walk into this one and we are extremely happy we did. Great guy at the desk and a Great room. Recommend 100 percent.

Location was good, room was clean and adequate for a one person room I was given. But there are no remotes for the air (you have to call the front desk for help to adjust it) and the neighborhood is a bit iffy.

For the price this hotel is more then great. I honestly feel it’s a steal. You get a pretty good view and although their studio room is a bit small it still feels cozy. Very clean as well.

Great solution to visit New York metro station very close.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The staff was nice, the room was clean and a good size, and I liked my view. Since staying in New York can be expensive, my friends and I chose a good place for a better price.

The location was convenient, only about a block from the closest metro stop However, the N train to Manhattan doesn't stop there on the weekends so we had to walk a bit further to head into the city on Saturday/Sunday. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean, if a bit beat up. Nice place to stay to be close to Manhattan. The free coffee and tea in the lobby were nice too, though there weren't any travel lids.

We stayed for five days. We were given an up grade without request and the room was beautiful. The hotel in general is super clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly. A block away is the metro that takes you to manhattan in less than 10 minutes. Around the hotel there is a warehouse and two restaurants, good food and happy hour! Vetivier Is an excellent option for which you do not want to pay high prices of manhattan, and in this way you are close to equals, but far from tannnnnta people.

Solid spot near some hip stuff. Quiet neighborhood however. Offers easy access to subway and Manhattan access.

We had a good experience here. The rooms were clean (looked modern), beds were comfortable and staff was friendly. Our daily trips into Manhattan were typically 30 min give or take. We would stay here again. Notes that would improve stay but not deal breakers: Lamp with outlets by the bed (like the one on desk) would be helpful (we had to be creative with our 2 CPAP machines). Larger coffee cups in the lobby. I was using 2 of those little hospital water cups that are provided (always a challenge getting in the room when both hands are carrying something). Parking — always an issue in this city and I don’t think there is any getting around it so be prepared to feed that meter and/or move to alternate side of the street (8:30/9:00 am). Our shower head was loose but still worked fine. Elevator is slow.

Nice Hotel, clean, the rooms correspond to the pictures reported on the major booking sites, the staff are very helpful I find the value for money satisfactory. It is close to the subway, so well connected with the center.

Ice only on the bottom floor and Wi-Fi has been very unreliable. Maybe unfair but that's perhaps the most essential part of a hotel. If it was 20 years ago, the hotel would be 4.5 stars.

If I could put 0 star I would have done it! This hotel/hostel cancelled my reservation that I've done on the morning when I was running away from Florida because of IRMA. After 28 hours driving, finally we arrived in NYC and surprise my booking was cancelled! Why?! Apparently my credit card was not working, but this hotel charged me the deposit though! When I tried to call them they hanged up the phone, they also didnt reply my last email when I was explaining the situation on my bank account.
Anyway, people who work at this place are just rude and flitter as well!

This is the worst place I've ever been. As we open the door the bed was right in front of us. The room is so small, you can hardly move without hitting your legs on the bed and the so call dresser, with the top keeps falling off… you have to be very careful not to break anything or damage yourself… we couldn't even get a good shower, the water was cold. They advertise free breakfast on the house, when we asked about that it was no longer available. They need to reversed the website as everything they mentioned is not true. I would never recommend this place to no one not even my enemy.

I had a room purchased through Priceline. At the time of check-in I was told that they are merely out of rooms and I have to take the room they have at the ground floor. During the night, it turned out to be terribly noisy. We could even hear the phone ringing at the front desk. It kept us alive until 4 AM and it basically ruined our whole trip. I was going to the front desk and coming back to the room literally until 4 AM. The next morning, they told me that they are gonna move our room to the 9th floor and refund us the first night. Now that I call them to follow up on the refund, some rude lady keeps telling me that your room was "UPGRADED" for free to one with two beds, and therefore there is no refund on the first night! YOU B**CH! I didn't want a room with two beds. It was just me and my wife! Why the hell would I need a room with two beds? I ONLY NEEDED SILENCE AND NOW THAT YOU TOOK IT FROM ME I WANT MY MONEY BACK! OTHERWISE I WILL SUE YOUR ASS FOR THE ENTIRE COST OF MY TRIP BECAUSE NOT HAVING ENOUGH SLEEP IN THE FIRST NIGHT RUINED OUR WHOLE TRIP! That's why people book hotels! To have comfort and peace and getting some quite sleep! Otherwise, one would better sleep in the street and save him/herself the trouble!

It was a very nice hotel. The room I stayed in was kinda of small bit still nice nonetheless. It had a balcony I could go out and a standing shower. I enjoyed my brief stay here.

No breakfast at 144$ a night, no complimentary water, quite rude front desk staff, housekeeping staff don't even speak simple English. I WONT recommend.

Hotel Vetiver is good value for money for a New York hotel, with convenient, quick access to Manhattan with a number of close by subway stations. The air conditioner in the room was a little loud and the website needs to be updated to remove the fitness room. Otherwise though quite a decent hotel for the price.

Problem after problem with this hotel. Staff is unengaged and did little to nothing to help out our situation. No compensation of any sort. Tell me how when you can't even get into your room for all most 2 hours that something isn't comped? Especially at 11 30 pm after a long and stressful day. The "engineer" literally had to use the room next to us to get onto the balcony and hop onto our balcony to let us in.

Staff was nice and friendly. Alright rooms seemed a little dated.

The staff was very helpful from the get go and the room was big and comfortable. The breakfast is the conventional continental but there are delis around the corner for an upgrade. Great location close to 39ave subway station! I can't emphasize enough the helpfulness of the staff, thanks ladies and gentlemen!

The best deal of the personal! A price really accessible and to only a few minutes of Manhattan via subway (to 3 minutes walking station).
Recommendation special for Manager Mohamed, their knowledge and proposals of places to visit and where eat have been great!

Hotel Vetiver has been great! Great location in close proximity to great deli (LIC deli), good restaurant (DutchKills Central) and amazing coffee shop (Our Coffee Shop). Plus there's a business center, and the staff is super friendly!

Great location and price. Decent rooms. Free delicious cookies and apples at the reception.

Rooms were nice. View from the balcony was great. TV service was horrible. Overall I good place to stay with a great location a block from the subway.

So I booked on priceline with a quote per night on my bid price. They said that could honor the price but now they won't.

Not what you expect from the pictures online and it feels more like a converted studio apartment building. The beds aren't plush, more like a $200 Ikea bed frame with mattress. I always say you get what you pay for. I used a Groupon special at $82 a night which was a good deal. The Groupon doesn't include the continental breakfast so in order to have the breakfast it's $5 per person. I'll pass for $5 I can get me a breakfast somewhere else. The walls are very thin, but all in all this place has potential. It's charming in a boutique kind of way, maybe this small up in coming hotel will get some traction and they will upgrade some things. Will I return? 8 times out of 10 yes. It's not horrible just needs a little tlc.

The room was clean and neat. The lobby was under construction and smallish. The hotel building doesn't look as good as other traditional hotels, but that shouldn't matter to most. The location is very convenient, 2 mins from the train station.

Location good, you have a bar and restaurant next to the hotel and a small supermarket. I did an upgrade free of charge without asking, the room are beautiful and clean. I stayed 4 nights and two of those days, the elevator is damaged and my room was on the 6th floor, the room has no fridge or microwave you have to go down to the first floor to use one. No parking in the hotel! Wifi is good!

I would stay away from this hotel. When I arrived, the reservation from the online booking site was not at the desk and it took twenty minutes to sort out. During this time, the staff at the front desk was rude and acted as if I was inconveniencing her by asking for her help locating the reservation. When I finally got to the room, it was dirty and not what you would expect from this quality hotel. I checked the mattress for beg bugs and was disgusted to find three large stains on the mattress.

In Queens, but very close to Manhattan (20 min). The hotel is only 200 meters from the underground in an area that may seem creepy at first but very quiet just reality. Can provide earplugs for those with a very slight sleep because early morning you can hear the passing train. But not very annoying. Otherwise room itself very nice, very clean and super comfortable bedding. Breakfast is generous in terms of sweet but slightly salty. And very welcoming staff. In short a pleasant stay.

Excellent hotel because of its price, the staff is very attentive and always trying to help the tourist with recommendations of mobilization and meal suggestions, always have someone who speaks Spanish, but this means that you always have apples, complimentary for guests, as well as a very rich cookies. I left a bag with personal things and I kept it. It is very close to a metro station. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The negative would be the breakfast which is continental, if improve would be perfect.

I just arrived for several hours and I could not help but write this review. In the afternoon, a women next door on the right of my room started to make exaggerated sexy moaning sounds to tell people how much she enjoyed sex, then of course, in the evening, she did it again. And now, a woman in the room on my left side suddenly started crying very loudly. I don't know how much more of other peoples private lives I will be privy to tonight, shall I thank the thin walls? Oh somebody is singing now.

We stayed at vetiver for 2 nights and really enjoyed our time. It was clean and new. The staff were very friendly and provided fresh, warm cookies :) Wifi is included. The hotel is a 2min walk from the subway station that takes you straight to Manhattan! Very convienent! I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. Only downside, the continental breakfast needs some work.

I gave it a single star because there is no lower rating to be given. I don't know where should I start from. No parking, and the nearest parking garage is managed by a wearied guy who is not friendly what so ever. The front desk is helpless. I arrived 2 hours before the check-in time and she made me wait until 3:00 pm to give me the keys at 3:00 pm sharp! with a wicked smile. Got to the room, the size is OK but the room did not smell good. The TV did not work right away and I had to call to get the remote fixed. The staff are so relaxed all the way to the extent that the front desk receptionist told me my room is late because the staff had to take lunch brakes!. The front area "the lobby" is dirty and unorganized. The hallways are dirty and smell like a porter's mop. Even the green apples on the front desk has some black marks and is not appealing at all. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you are OK with all the problems that I just listed.

Great place to stay. It was our first time to New York and the staff made the stay even better, especially the doorman! Close to the train and close to Manhattan! Rooms were not huge but the service and price were awesome. My wife and I had our kids with us and the staff was very courteous with them as well. My whole family is dying to go back.

Perfect to know the city, super clean, comfortable beds and breakfast included q acceptable! the 39 st is in the side and in 10min t put it in times square, lovely staff and most of them speak Spanish, totally recommended.

It could have been a 5 stars if. For a boutique hotel with no curtains, unacceptable! Blinds are broken and don't work. Breakfast area has tables design for kids not adults! Staff is very friendly, Clean rooms and delicious complementary breakfast though. I wish I was comfortable while seating and enjoying my breakfast :). I will still recommend this place to my friends due to the price and proximity to Manhattan.
