Reviews of The Muse New York 4*
Great Location and Hotel Staff.
Honest staff — accidentally left $2000 cash in one of the nightstand drawers, after realizing this, called the hotel and the housekeeping have secured the money for me! This hotel is also pet friendly and they have provided our Baby Fur his mattress and food container. The location is also the BEST! walking distance to almost everything we wanted to see — Few steps and you’re in TimeSquare, few blocks away you’re in Radio City, 5th Avenue, Bryant Park and Grand central Station! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and the staff are so friendly. Will definitely use them for our future trip!
Close to everything and quiet. Wonderful boutique hotel.
My husband brought me to NYC for my birthday. Loved the hotel…very friendly staff, clean and close to everything we wanted to see.
We arrived for check in and they promptly told us that they had double booked our room. So…. Here we are 20 min before our dinner reservation and 2 hours before our show and they are scrambling…. Late time we stay here, regardless of the remainder of our experience. I have never had this issue with the hotels we normally book on our monthly trips to NYC.
Beautiful and good location.
Good location! near by Time squares, all shopping around, Easygoing, clean and good service!
Great Location… literally right next to Time Square!
The hotel is beautiful, the entire team is so very friendly and helpful. Hopefully all will clear up soon and they will reopen in the Summer.
We have a beautiful suite on a high floor with a city view. There is a big spa tub, two TV’s, and a mini fridge. The restaurant is closed due to Covid but there are many restaurants right nearby. Special thanks to Angel at the front desk for above and beyond service.
Awesome Boutique Hotel! Affordable as New York lodging goes, I liked its central location and cool vibe. Didn't like the noise early mornings as large trucks began delivering to businesses before opening for business.
The Kimpton Muse Hotel is located in the heart of Manhatten right beside Times Square. We arrived and were greeted by Daniel, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was going to be memorable. He noticed we had pets and with Kimpton Hotels… if pets can fit through the door, they are welcome at no additional charge. This makes us choose Kimpton when traveling. Daniel was nice enough to tell us more about the area and choose a room that would suit our needs. It is the kind of welcome that makes you feel like you are family. When we arrived in our room, we were very pleased. They are larger than many New York City hotels, have excellent views, equipped with plush beds and luxurious bathrooms. There are even small fridges in the rooms which are becoming obsolete in many hotels, so this is a huge plus. Cleanliness and safety are a priority. We saw staff cleaning the hotel throughout the whole stay. Overall, the hotel is excellent and I have already told my friends to choose this hotel, especially with pets! I can't wait for my next stay. If I would do something differently, I would have booked a room with a balcony. The balcony rooms offer something different and extraordinary!
We loved our stay here. The room was beautiful. The service was very good. Always very clean and relaxing when we come back after a day of exploring the city. ❤️
Good customer service, employees very friendly and attentive, good atmosphere, love the room very comfortable, I’ll definitely go back again.
Great location and friendly service from all staff!
Very nice location in Times Square. Staff was great and we enjoyed our stay. Will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful time in NYC and really enjoyed staying at the Kimpton Muse Hotel! It was in a great location, the rooms were fantastic and the staff were all wonderful! We will definitely be back!
Excellent and unique! Such a cool spot.
Amazing place to stay with great location being right in the heart of NYC. Also they offer valet service for your car so parking isn’t a hassle.
Excellent staff! Angel at front desk was so personable and friendly and, most importantly, listened to my concerns. Got to talk about different Kimpton locations on my wish list with Jeany during the fun wine hour. Clean, comfortable room with an excellent location in the theatre district reaffirmed that this Kimpton is a great choice! Thank you all for another wonderful stay at the Kimpton Muse NYC.
Quaint quiet perfect location in and out valet parking bikes to ride into Central Park very accommodating staff especially Joanna at front desk.
Love the room — wish they had coffee making facility — large bathroom — very comfortable.
Always love staying at The Kimpton whether it be for business or family get always! The staff is excellent and the rooms are spacious and clean. Great location in the city!
I didn't stay there, but I visited some friends and the hotel Staff were very friendly and informative!
First couple nights hard to sleep with noise & drunks, pretty much all night. Also, windows and heating ducts were super drafty, extremely cold both nights. We were awakened 3 times, both nights. We were in room 306, faces 46th Street. Spoke with night front desk manager, Tony and he moved us to another room on 9th floor, for our 3rd and final night. Thanks, Tony.
The valets were nice as can be. Front desk checking was also nice and speedy. The room was very clean and spacious (and well stocked with goodies — even though we did not partake).
We visit New York frequently to see our grandchildren and have stayed in most of the nice boutique hotels. The Kimpton Muse Hotel stands out for comfort, style and warmth. It will now be our home away from home in Austin. Beautifully appointed with great attention to detail and much more comfortable than most of the other trendy hotels. The innkeepers are just delightful, too.
The hotel lobby is nice however I have a few large issues with recommending this hotel — Portable air con unit in room which was incredibly noisy. I'll live with it — No complimentary water in room. Cheapest bottle of water is 7 dollars — Prices in restaurant are excessive. A cappuccino is 10 dollars with tax and tip of 18% added on top. So just shy of 13 dollars for a coffee. When I gave feedback leaving the hotel that I found this excessive, I was told THIS IS NEW YORK, THIS IS TIME SQUARE. Go find a coffee for under 10 dollars. So rude. @Kimpton, I did and I suggest others do too. Won't be back.
I don't generally review hotels but our experience at Kimpton Muse exceeded every expectation from the moment we checked in. Every member of the staff we interacted with from the front desk to in the restaurant made sure our experience was nothing but great. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the breakfast down at the restaurant was so good we chose to eat there every morning before venturing out. Great location if you want to be close to the action. Highly recommend. We will be back!
Great hotel and a great location. It was so close to Broadway shows I was able to catch a last minute deal and just walk over. Everything was impeccably clean and the staff was all very friendly. I'll definitely stay here again.
Great location! My family stayed here the first week in July. It is a cool hotel in a great location, close to Times Square and the theater district. They had a great complimentary wine service every evening. Good sized rooms with Queen beds which is rare. Beautiful modern bathrooms with amazing water pressure and rainfall shower heads. Friendly, helpful staff, great maid service. Cons: Broken elevator the entire 10 days we were there making travel up and down between lobby and room SLOW and HOT with one working elevator for our floor. Sometimes people had to wait as elevator was full during busy times. Computer problems during check in so only had one person able to check people in causing delays. A bit noisy at night but to be expected since so close to times square. Pet friendly hotel which is nice.
I am absolutely in love with Kimpton Muse!
I wish I could post the photos! Love the oval tub that soaked myself! That’s probably why I slept well and felt like slept for solid 8 hours with nice comfy bed! (I only slept for a few hours but that’s what the plain ride is for, right? )
Staff are nice! Welcome me with the smile and talk to me, actually me not to the computer! These staff know that importance of actual communication!
… I am definitely coming back to stay longer and enjoy every bit of Kimpton Muse and NYC!
Nice hotel, decor is modern and "chic". Staff has been helpful. Couple things in our room we're broken but not the end of the world. Hotel is very close to times square, that's a positive or negative based on if you want to be real close to times square. Public space is pretty limited, so hard to take advantage of the wine happy hour when lots of guests are down ther, but still nice that they do it.
Such a great location and always very high quality service. Rooms are a tad small in non NY standards, but everything I need. Glad I switched all my business travel to this place.
Great location. Short distance from time square and the theater district. Front desk staff and valet were very friendly and accommodating. Room is clean and modern.
The hotel was amazing. The accommodations are awesome. The staff is great. The restaurant is top-notch. They have acai bowls. I'll be back next week :-).
Wonderful rooms which are quite large for NYC and decorated with modern furnishings. Amazing location. Beds super comfy and I love the "disco" mirrors. Easy check in and friendly staff.
We are currently staying here in room 1502 with a lovely balcony, and the room is lovely. We’ve been loooking for a hotel to call home from home since the Warldorf Towers closed and it looks like we found one. We booked for my hubbies birthday and our daughters 21st. Sadly our daughter has been struck down with food poisoning (not from the hotel food) but from elsewhere. And has been in bed all day on her birthday, to say the staff at this hotel are fantastic is an understatement, they are incredible, every single one of them including Angela from Housekeeping, what a truly lovely lady, bless her heart. The people on the desk who have bent over backwards to try make our daughters 21st a special day but sadly not able too as she’s so sick, but fingers crossed she’ll be well enough to enjoy it tomorrow. We absolutely love this place and look forward to making it our home away from home for many years to come.
We were upgraded to a room with king bed on the 18th floor on arrival. From the moment we stepped in to leave a case two days before checking in the staff were warm helpful and genuinely kind to me and my nine year old daughter. Michael & Daniel were mines of information on places to see and things to do in NY and even gave useful tips for Washington! We were first time visitors to NY. We hope to be back with the rest of the family some time soon and we will definitely stay at the Muse! With special thanks to all the staff and especially to Amanda.
For a NY hotel this was nice. The rooms were much larger than anticipated. The staff was helpful and polite. The only thing I'd have to say is the shower drained a little slowly.
Nice and central Hotel near Times Square.
What an AMAZING stay! This is located about a block off of Times Square! The rooms are very nice. Our room was their standard double queen room which had plenty of room for two people. We were on the 9th floor which was surprisingly more quiet than we anticipated. The hotel staff is incredibly helpful and kind. The decor is funky and fun. The hotel was pretty easy to find as well. It is located near a few bars, a little cafe, and a few restaurants. I cannot say enough about this hotel! It was fantastic and I highly recommend staying here! It is in a great location — walking distance to Rockefeller Center and the like. The subway stations are nearby and it was pretty easy to hail a cab on nearby streets. I had a blast and will definitely tell others about it.
Wow… we had such a fabulous stay here to celebrate my 50th. Wonderful staff on reception. Room wasn't ready when we arrived (but we were early) and when we came back … superb… what a suite. Toiletries are gorgeous … can we buy them anywhere? Great location … central to everything. Made use of the free bikes … thank you so much, it was great to cycle around Central Park. Of course the wine hour should not be missed… a great way to get talking to people that you otherwise might never meet. Would totally recommend staying here and we will be back someday!
We just stayed and it was fantastic. I have two very small gripes with the place — our outlets by the bed didn’t work right and there was a sticker on the toilet paper rolls (a sanitation thing, I’m sure, just annoying and very small) that made me shake my head a bit. My husband was a bit perplexed by the unisex bathroom in the lobby, which was hilarious to me. Very comfortable beds and we loved the hot chocolate and wine hour. The reason why we’re not giving a 4 star review is because of checkout/desk in general. There aren’t enough people at the desk. You can hear the phone ringing off the hook continuously. And the lobby is packed at all times. Our biggest issue was the valet. If we could review the valet separately we would leave 1 Star. We didn’t mind the expense of the valet, but you can’t access your car once you put it in for the night (it’s not 24hr access like other Kimptons). What really made us upset with our Kimpton experience was when our car was taken out after checkout. The valet parked it in a snow bank and my husband had just filled the gas… yet we were down to 1/3rd of a tank. How far away is the garage that you would use 2/3 of a tank getting there and back?! We were also greeted by the front desk before being greeted by the valet. I don’t think we can fault the hotel for this, but they should get this checked out — we can’t be the only ones who had the problem.
I arrived for my 3 o’clock check-in, however they did not have my room ready until five. In addition I reserved a room with the large oval tub and I did not get it; in addition even though the room I did get was lovely decorated, it was extremely small — the bathroom sink had a slow drain and the cable box kept falling off the wall from behind the TV. The lobby was messy as well as the area to get complimentary hot chocolate. Due to the fact that It is central to Midtown and the modern decor I may give it a second try at a future date.
Quaint hotel located in Times square Good service. Restaurant needs more variety Rooms sizes good Bathroom in room 1805 very awkward if u using the toilet no space at all. Location is great 2min from times square 5 min to Rockefellers. We arrived on Xmas day and restaurant was closed.
I saw two huskies. Already great. There was hot chocolate. Double great. Beds very comfortable.
Only suggestion is room 806 is very cold. They have a heater which was fine for us because we like the cold to sleep. Otherwise staff is extremely helpful and polite. Great location.
Modern, pleasant and the staff are friendly, the only drawback is the noisy heating.
Very good attention from the reception staff, the room good, cleanliness not good, there were two days not cleaned the room.
It was our second time staying at the Muse, and it was even better than the first! The staff is warm and kind, the room spacious (crazy for Times Square) and absolutely beautiful! We were greeted in our room with a bottle of wine and a cheese/bread/fruit/chocolate platter. The wine hour is delightful! We travel to New York relatively frequently, and this is hands down our favorite place!
I had stayed at this hotel in Dec. Last year and loved it. This year, I arrived late (around 8:30) due to construction at LGA and amazing traffic in comparison with the last year. The service representative on check in at the hotel took a long while trying to find a room. My reservations were made over a month before arrival. Finally, he asked the supervisor. She never looked at me or greeted me. She told the representative — put her in 201. (which I believe is the room only used when nothing else is available) Well, 201 meant at the end of long day — a bathroom in which the door was hung so that you could not get to the shower without backing up against the wall near the toilet and next to the pedestal sink, closing the door, and creeping through. In addition, the light fixture was flickering like a small strobe light, since the light needed to be replaced. While the make up mirror was nice to have, it was installed so that you would have to figure out a way to stand over the toilet or between the small space between the toilet and wall to use it The ceilings were low and a window was there but low to the ground. There was no sound proofing so all street noise was loud. I asked for a new room. I was told there were none by the manager. I was told by the manager that I should have checked 2 weeks prior to my reservation if I had "special needs. " My special needs were a quiet room with an accessible bath. The room was clean and well appointed. The manager was rude.
This is a typically exceptional Kimpton hotel. It is perfectly maintained and well staffed. Any issues you might run into are quickly solved. A small example, when we arrived late at night our room had no hand soap. We called the front desk and had two bars in hand within five minutes. All that and this hotel is a half block from Times Square.
Excellent location. We were happy my husband and I, the staff very polite especially Angel very nice it is beautiful that you treat you super well as she did, God bless we will see you again in another chance!
Rooms were beautifully decorated. Mine even had a backing that looked out onto Times Square! The staff was super friendly, and the free wine hour is an awesome bonus. I'd definitely stay here again.
Very good hotel very well placed. Only downside, breakfast: very good but overpriced.
A 5 star experience. All staff very friendly and professional. Rooms v good. Def one to recommend!
Had great service, If you are planning on only staying on the island of Manhattan and want to be close to everything this hotel is right near the heart of times square. The inside has recently been updated and they have a free wine tasting at 5pm every night. Price is a little high but you are literally a 1 minute walk from times square, if this is the area you want to be close to then this hotel is perfect.
From the moment my daughter and I set foot in this establishment, we felt the hospitality. We were greeted by a gentleman named Angel to register our reservation. What an asset to their establishment I found him to be. This was our first time using this chain, and I must lament we habe been converted. I intend to look for Kimpton hotels moving forward.
The absolute best hotel I have ever stayed in. The Kimpton staff was amazing. The young lady that helped us at the desk was an absolute sweetheart. (Unfortunately they did not meet the 3pm check in time, but we only had to wait 10 extra minutes) We had an amazing room, with a fantastic view! Only a block from time square, but yet no noise was heard on the 18th floor. We had a breathtaking private balcony. The room was lovely and clean. The only negative thing I can say was that there was a giant hole in one of the sheets, no way the maid could have missed that when she was cleaning the room. Also, the liner to the shower door was coming off and actually cut my leg. But in all honesty, I would go back a million times! No where is perfect but this place is as close to perfect as I've seen!
Awesome hotel in the heart of Times Square with well appointed rooms. Staff is amazing and friendly, plus a complimentary wine hour! Wonderful time, would stay there again.
Great staff, cozy rooms, comfy bed, and close to everything! First time staying in NY and it's been pleasant so far. Everything about this hotel is lovely. I'll be in NY once a year and I know where to go to call home. Espirte (I prolly butchered you name sorry! ) and Barbara were excellent. Thank you ladies for awesome. *cough*Give them a raise *cough.
The entire staff are absolutely amazing! The wine that was served during happy hour wasn't cheap tasting at all, and it was free. This is the second time staying here, and we look forward to a third stay.
The rooms were very nice, and more spacious then I thought they might be. The hotel is located a block away from time square and is very centrally located for those looking to go out and explore. The staff was extremely welcoming and let us check in early on the first day. They offer nice perks like a wine reception during the night (free wine always a plus! ). Overall I was very happy with this hotel and would gladly come back!
Most amazing hotel experience ever. The staff, including Daniel and Angel, couldn't have been any more accommodating or welcoming. From the balcony room we had, to the nightly wine hour, the stay here could not have been better! Highly recommend this spot that is mere feet from the heart of Times Square.
Staff is very friendly and helped me book a room super last minute, which was nice. Still the place has OK amenities, and has a few strange elements that make it seem a little overpriced, I. E. The $9 bottles of water in the rooms Overall though, a pleasant stay.
Nice hotel. Clean, modern, well kept. Nice vibe typical of kimpton. Very nice staff. Nothing made me say, "wow, that is awesome! " But there is absolutely nothing to complain about, and we enjoyed our stay. Would stay here again.
Location is perfect to walk everywhere within a few blocks. Service here was amazing from the second we walked in the door, all staff at front desk were super helpful and friendly! Rooms were very clean and nice, nice showers! This experience made our first trip to New York so much easier, from a small town country girl I so appreciated this!
Awesome wine o'clock, great rooms and location! Oddly enough though, the shower floor tile hurts to stand on and our restaurant waiter was fussy.
I had such a bad experience here at this hotel. We called and booked a room almost a week in advance and was told we could have an 8 am check in. However, when we walked in at 8 am, our room was not ready and they said we had to check in at 3 pm. Mind you, we had no where else to stay and we couldn't check in anywhere else because they would still charge us for a full day even if we didn't stay at the hotel. The front desk found a room vacant but the cleaning lady didn't arrive until late so we had to wait a couple hours before we could get a room that we prepaid. Such a terrible experience.
A great return visit. They do a wonderful job at making their guests feel special. I recommend the hotel to everyone.
Took my girlfriend here for a birthday weekend. Was greeted by a warm welcome and a happy birthday even after the long New Year's night no doubt the staff had. Later had champagne and cupcakes in the room with a lovely note. Great rooms with a perfect location to Times Square, Broadway, Rockefeller and Central Park. We stay at Kimptons whenever we get the chance and this, like the others, was wonderful.
We had a great experience with this hotel. It gave us comfort and security. I love the staff more, they were so accomodating and they made sure that everything was pretty set and perfect. The location as well was so freakin amaizing. Thanks!
Top Location. The price is justified only by location.
Very good Hotel in the middle of the cake.
12/23/2011
RespondThe Hotel has a Top location. Individual employees are very nice. But, unfortunately, the air conditioning is very loud. Actually, it could be a really good Hotel, although it has its best years obviously behind him. Unfortunately, I realized after my departure, that I had my Camera. On my request, and also on request of my travel organizer, I immediately get the answer — nothing found. Long seems to have not wanted. Too bad the holiday has received a bad connotation.
