First stay. POSITIVE: Location (if you don't mind being in the trash dump that Time Square and surrounding area became lately), interior design (surprisingly smart, modern and practical), having fridge/microwave/safe in the room is great, comfortable mattresses and pillows, clean new linens and towels, good housekeeping and quickly responsive (but unfortunately not very helpful) maintenance team, staying for 2 nights free as Choicehotel members — priceless. NEGATIVE: a) the quality of installation of the furniture and parts of the entry doors is poor (the handle of the door is missing a screw and comes off when you try to close it not only on our room's door but on the other doors we checked on our floor either) ; b) the AC unit in our room was working weird (switching the modes from cool to heat by itself, so every time we came back to the room it was 84 degrees hot) sometimes it's happen while we were in the room. We addressed this issue to the maintenance, but though the guy was very nice he didn't fix the problem and we didn't have more time to deal with it. Plus the unit worked very loud. These two issues wouldn't let us to have a good sleep at night. c) If the room is not on the very high floor you won't be able to get the fresh air by opening the window either because of the street noise on front side of the building or because of cooking smells from the restaurants vents on the other side, which adds to the poor quality of sleep. d) the parking is very expansive ($55-65) e) Wi-Fi doesn't work well. f) Shower floor is VERY slippery when the soupy water on it. Big potential for a fall. The water pressure is weak due to the weird wide spaced whole's design of the shower head. So if you are tall you will get a bit better pressure but if you are short you are going to spend a lot of time washing of the soup. (So much for water preservation). g) when we've tried to let the front desk know about the problem with AC unit there was just "OK" in response (doing her thing on the computer) and I doubt it's even registered in her mind. We stayed in both Cambrias in NY City and the Cambria on the 28th Street we liked much better. No return to this one.
