The lousy lobby the broken, run-down and dirty furniture, the depressing cushions were not dirty they were disgusting. They have misleading ads on their website nothing is the same as the photos posted. The service at the reception disappointing, they are not helpful at all. They don't clean rooms until you check in. In conclusion it does not help not to be fooled by the ads.

Please do not stay here! The room I was in had FLEAS and I was bitten severely during my first night there to the point where I had to seek medical attention and was prescribed antibiotics. I spoke to the manager, showed them my bites, and even physically handed them a flea that I had collected from their room, but despite this, they claimed "they conducted an investigation and found nothing. " They refused to refund me for my 1 week stay even though I checked out after the first night. Save yourself the headache and find somewhere else to stay.

Everything! just home from our stay here, cannot fault anything, the staff are amazing and friendly (Keila was my favourite) nothing was a bother to any of them rooms cleaned every day. And you are right in the centre of everything you need. We had an amazing time x.

I've just ended my holiday in New York. I loved my time at the Hampton Inn! The staff were truly amazing and helpful at all times. They were never too busy to chat and everyone I spoke to was friendly and humorous. The rooms were clean and tidy and the location of the hotel was perfect for us in terms of seeing the major places in the state. I was genuinely sorry to leave and touched by the kind words of the staff when I was checking out. Thanks again for a wonderful stay, I hope too see you again soon.

Great service. Rooms were small but nice. Very clean, cozy and cute hotel. Close to everything. Breakfast was good, but the scrambled eggs sucked.

We enjoyed our stay at this centrally located NYC hotel. Our room was meticulously cleaned by Norma. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Luis Rivera called us by name and was attentive. 2 blocks to Grand Central was a convenient access to subway to Uptown and downtown. Common area space was small but understandable for NY.

Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Nice beds. Ok breakfast. “Quiet” neighborhood which was nice for kids at night, slept very well. Very nice exercise room. Would recommend!

I just went in to have a drink with a friend. The place is beautiful and the prices are what one would expect from a hotel bar. Friendly service and fast too. Would definitely come back for a few more rounds.

From the location great. Very close to Grand Central Station. Clean little rooms with shower room. Perfect to explore Manhattan. The only shortcoming at breakfast has to be cut. The breakfast room is very small when all come at once it will be tight. There were porridge waffles on our visit for self-making yoghurt toast apples banana coffee tea roast potatoes sausages. All on cardboard plate cardboard cups. Müllberg included.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location with many good restaurants nearby. Clean rooms and cozy environment, and the breakfast is not bad.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel from Thursday to Monday over Easter weekend. We had two rooms among 6 of us and we had a fantastic experience with every member of the Hampton Inn staff. They were truly the nicest hotel staff we have ever come across. This was true of the ENTIRE staff! Highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to the entire staff for making our trip memorable.

Our family stayed at this Hampton Inn while on vacation in New York and have nothing but good things to say about it. The staff were friendly upon checking in and were same on way out. The place was clean and tidy and was a good price overall. The rooms are small however we've come to expect that more or less while in NY unless paying for the space. We weren't in the room often other than to sleep so it worked well. We will stay here again!

The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was relatively small but very clean and had everything we needed. The bathroom door was a slider so you couldn't really close and lock it, not my favorite. Breakfast was fairly good. There was usually free water at the front desk and the free 24 hour coffee and tea was great after a cold day of walking around the city. The hotel was within walking distance to Grand Central Station, Time Square, and many other areas. Overall I would definitely consider staying here again.

1st time NYC, Jan 31-Feb4, 2 kids-13 & 7. This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. They have the most friendliest, gracious, most attentive staff I have ever met. Right as you walk in, there's cucumber and lemon water and free homemade yummy chocolate chip cookies. They were so good that my children wanted a break from sightseeing & go back to the hotel just to get a cookie. Plenty of breakfast items to choose from: waffles, omelets, bagels, yogurt, cereal, toast, sausage links/patties. Each day, there was something different. I am so thankful they had free computer & printing service cause I has to print most of my tour tickets. All around clean hotel, clean room. Plenty of space in the room. Hotel is 2 blocks from Grand Central. If you plan to use the subway as much as I did, buy the weekly or multi-day pass. Trust me you'll need it. Also, a block away from hotel on 43rd heading towards grand central is a pizza place that sells very good cheese pizza for 99cents per slice. Special thanks to Desi, Imelda, Mr Luis, Delfino and to the entire Hampton Inn Grand Central Staff!

Lovely staff — friendly and smart. Warm cookies on a cold afternoon. Close to Grand Central which is close by subway or train to everywhere. Couldn't be better.

The rooms are a little small, but you're in NYC, so they're probably not actually that small. There's plenty of room for my family of four in a 2 double room. The front desk staff is extremely friendly, and they've always got fresh cookies in the afternoon for the kids (and the adults too).

What a wonderful experience! This was my 2nd trip to NYC and the first time I stayed closer to Times Square so I was a little worried about location but I trusted the reviews and it truly is a great central location! Uber picked us up there within 3 minutes every time. The staff goes above and beyond to help and the breakfast every morning is great! So nice and convenient. No negative things to say about our experience! Will gladly come back! Just maybe not right after Christmas when it is 18 degrees outside and feels like 6… woo very cold trip! But worth it if you love Christmas time! The complementary cookies, bottled water, hot chocolate, and coffee was such a nice touch.

Located a block from Grand Central Station, this hotel is a very good value. Rooms, although small, are very practical and modern resulting in two great nights of sleep! And finally, as with all Hilton properties the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great location and nice, clean facilities. Very easy to get to many spots. Time Square is a 10-15 minute walk. And only 4 minute from Grand Central station.

The staff are super nice and helpful. The room was on the small side (well pretty standard for NYC), but well laid out so moving around was fine. The room was ready a little late, but not too bad. Breakfast was included and fine, although the hotel was full and it seemed like staff were having a hard time keeping the food stocked. Overall, it was a good stay.

I had a one night stay, the women at the reception desk are phenomenal. First and foremost they greeted me and the check process was very seamless. They kept the water stocked in the lobby on a humid day and cookies for guest as well. They were very inviting and held great conversations, all of them from late night to morning shift. Thanks so much for making my stay great. Good location as well, near grand central with plenty of food options nearby.

Good value for money The hotel is a good value for money choice.  Rooms are clean and comfortable although some are small.  Breakfast is included in the rate, which is something unusual in NYC and if you do not have time for breakfast or are planning to skip lunch, you can take a complimentary bag with a bottle of water, an apple and a couple of additional items.  The staff is very helpful and friendly.  The location is very good, two blocks away form Grand Central Station and about five blocks from 5th Avenue.

I stay in this Hotel in New York with my Mum called Rhona Douglas on Friday the 10th of Febuary 2017 this year till Monday the 13th of Febuary 2017 for 3 nights. Nices rooms in the Hotel and nice inside very clean and very tidy. Comfay beds and nice food at Breakfest in the morning and great sitting place for tea and coffee and I loved that apple spiced tea too. Very nice staff and friendly staff too. They have got a nice bath room in the room and very good shower to use in the morning and at night very proud of the staff that work in the Hampton Inn Manhattan/Grand central Hotel in New York. They even looked after me and my Mums case on the last day too for free while done the last day of walk and esplore of New York. It was cold in New York when I was walking there but it was dry and there was only one day of rain when I stayed there which wasnt too bad. It was snowing there but the paths were still clear to walk in. I love walking in the cold when I am wrapped up. I dont like walking when its raining. I stay in North Motherwell Scotland. It took me 8 hour flight to get to New York from Edinborgh Airport the flight was great too New York too you got a TV and offered plenty of drinks. I will delftly be back to New York in 2 or 3 years time. Thanks again for that nice stay in that Hotel in New York. I tryed one of your cookies and there were nice. I will delftly be back in this Hotel again it was great and nice vue from the window too.

Rooms are small, but very comfortable. Staff is amazing. Friendly, accommodating, what no cookies? They bake for you with a smile. Great water pressure! Great location, easy to get a cab, minute walk to grand central. John's cafe around the corner for a ny experience like on Seinfeld. SAFE area. If you stay, say hi to Erin and congratulate her on her engagement. Can't wait to stay again and continue the story. Oh and great rates. We paid $85 on a Thursday night. Didn't pay to stay home.

Very good location, very very good staff. Room small but we are in the heart of Manhattan, this is normal! 5min from the Chrysler building, 20min from Time Square. Breakfast (self-service). Nothing to complain except the door of bathroom is not closed completely.

Passport stolen from hotel room safe. I am a UN staff who stayed 6 nights at the Hampton Inn because it is near UN headquarters in Manhattan. My 2 passports were stolen from the safe in the hotel room. When I noticed that the safe was open and that my passports were gone, I immediately brought it to the attention of the reception desk. I was taken aback by hotel staff's reaction : 'This is not possible. You must have misplaced your passport or lost it somewhere. ' I also found there to be a lack of interest, diligence and care by the staff for this serious situation, which was treated with the same or even less attention as the guest next to me asking for a plastic spoon or for complementary cookies. I insisted that the police be called, and the police made an incident report. When questioned by the police, the hotel staff repeated that it was simply not possible that the passport was stolen from the safe. I was supposed to fly back to Europe the day after (on a Saturday) but was not allowed to board without passport. I had to stay several days longer in New York, missing important work commitments, having to get a new passport and incurring significant expenses. A Hampton Inn nightmare…

Great location. Great staff, they all helped us to make our stay magic. Good breakfast that can satisfy most tastes. My choice for upper mid town.

This is a great hotel, they are one of the few W hotels that actually has their lobby and elevators on the first floor. Shocking, I know. The rooms are great and the staff are incredibly polite. I''ve stayed here multiple times and every time my experience here gets better and better. Last time I got upgraded to a Yerba Buena Park view and when I lost my luggage tag, the gentleman at the bell desk was more than helpful with helping me find my bag.

I gave this hotel a two only because the room was clean and the bed comfortable. But this is not a hotel its a motel a literal hole in the wall Why are they claiming to be a four star hotel thats a gross exeration needless to say I will not be recommending this hotel.

Called to dispute a charge put on my card for $75, only to be told that the room I stayed in smelt like smoke and that they found a pack of cigarettes. The thing is that I DON'T SMOKE! I told them this and about my medical complications being the reason why I can't smoke, only to have assistant manager refused to acknowledge my situation. The assistant manager went on to tell me that she was refusing to refund my money, and if I wanted to do anything about it I would have to dispute the charge threw my bank. Then I called their corporate office, to complain about the service I just received and about the fraudulent charge; only to be told I will have to wait up to 72 hours for them to review my case and hear a response.

I stay here quite often and The ladies at the front desk are always very friendly and professional. They work thru misunderstandings with ease and always make you feel welcome and cared for. The rooms are nice and complimented by an awesome staff. Whenever I'm in NYC this is where I stay.

Loved our stay, loved the warm hellos from staff, the great hot breakfast, the great location. The cookies at night were fantastic as well as hot drinks available throughout the day and night. The kitchen staff were great especially dealing with the daily morning rush! Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay here. The front desk staff is friendly and professional. I noticed them giving extra personal attention to a number of guests to help them with a variety of questions. Carlos (Maintenance) was very efficient and friendly, on duty on Christmas day, in solving a problem we had with the temperature in our room. The staff operating the free breakfast also did a great job. Five star rating for our experience here.

Absolutely wonderful hotel to stay in! Spent four nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Room w/two comfortable beds, nice size bathroom, wonderful hot and cold breakfast each day. During the week enjoyed the "to-go bag" too. Hotel staff very friendly, knowledgeable.

Excellent location, very close to everything that there is to see in ny. The rooms are spacious, with heating, beds very comfortable and are equipped with all services, to include coffee makers and hair dryers. There is also a dining room in which to take drinks 24 hours a day and the breakfast is very complete. A good option for those who want to have a good service and be close to all.
