The worst experience ever! Waiting over an hour last check in! Hotel lobby is dirty.

They were cutting corners was not following all of Wyndhams standards. We didn’t even get our upgrade for member perks. No perks. Overly priced for such a small room, cheap bath products, only gave 3 packs of coffee sugar etc when asked for lots of sugar for coffee and creamer, didn’t have any supplies of things you may leave behind and non Wyndham cups and other supplies etc. Spend the extra few bucks and stay at the New Yorker much better and nicer staff.

Do not stay at this hotel! Broken safe, phone, cupboard. No storage. Rude manager and staff. Checked in then out within 3 hrs and still battling with them and booking. Com for refund.

This is THE WORST hotel in the history of hotels. Do NOT stay here! We wanted to cancel our stay due to an emergency room visit that was documented and no one would pick up the phone FOR TWO DAYS. Wyndham customer service couldn’t even get their own hotel to pick up the phone. We finally got a hold of someone through email that said they would be able to authorize the refund if we provided documentation of the ER visit. Then when we did we were told that it wasn’t good enough because it wasn’t an ER for Covid. We were charged in full for the room with no option to even reschedule. Monica Sharma was rude and unwilling to help us via email and no one helped us otherwise because they were impossible to contact. If you want to stay at a hotel where they pick up the phone for any reason at all — DO NOT STAY HERE.

Absolutely horrible hotel. HORRIBLE! We were told there’d be a game console for our son. No game console. We were told there’d be a microwave. No microwave. The top bunk bed safety rail was broken. We ordered food and drinks. It says it’ll be at our door 20 minutes or less. After an hour I start making phone calls. After about 15 minutes of calling every number finally front desk picks up. They say they don’t have room service come and pick it up. I ask why they’d leave this literature in our room and not honor it. She says it’s not her problem. So I go down to the lobby and they have no record of our order. They make my order and give us 2 wrong beers because they don’t even have the ones we ordered. Wh n I called to try and resolve this again the gentleman said that he refuses to help because he’s not a manager and there’s no manager on the property. He said to talk to a manager in the morning. I said no this happened now I want it resolved now. He said he’s not talking about it anymore. Kept talking over me and hung up. This place is trash! COMPLETE TRASH!

I was never treated so rudely by anyone in customer service especially not in a hotel where they were overcharging me. I was guaranteed a lower rate over the phone before we checked in but when we got there they would not honor that rate, argued with me, ignored me, walked away from me while there was a line of people checking in. Not to mention they made us pay extra for checking in early even though the room was ready. The lobby bar that advertised happy hour never opened until happy hour was over and then tried to serve my husband beer and wine in red solo cups. No thanks! I’ve been fighting with customer service for 4 weeks now to get this resolved and no one ever calls back or they hang up on me. I would never stay here again and most certainly would never recommend this hotel. It’s a shame this hotel is under the Wyndham brand. Save your money and don’t stay here!

I’m trying to cancel a reservation for a trip I can no longer take I was verbally assaulted by a manager in the reservation office who actually used an analogy about “kids getting shot in schools and she’s willing to bet I still send my kids to school”. She went on a tyrade about not canceling my reservation and hung up on me. I called Wyndham and was told a case manager would call me to investigate. I haven’t heard a word. Called the hotel directly tonight and was told the woman who was so rotten to me had noted on the file to “under no circumstance to cancel or refund my prepaid reservation”. I am really dismayed at the way I was treated and lack of response by Wyndham. The girl I spoke with today advised me to call back and speak with the woman who initially was so awful to me. I told her I wouldn’t be speaking with that woman again. She told me to call back and try to speak to another member of management. At this point I’m looking for help in resolving this matter as nobody has gotten back to me, and my calls keep being routed into circles. If you’re looking for a hotel with good customer service then continue your search!

Found a dirty wash cloth in the window. There were no wash clothes or bath mats in the room at all, only bath towels. We asked them to come mop the floors because our 10 month old was crawling around and with in minutes his toes, knees and hands were black. We had no bag for our ice bucket. There was an old k-cup in the coffee maker. The fridge was barely cold. The beds were clean though and the staff was very nice.

The only good thing about the hotel is the location. It is near Times Square and a subway station that will get you anywhere else. The family room was a great size and if the place was cleaner it would have been great. The housekeeping was terrible. The sheets, pillow cases, dust ruffles and mattresses were all blood stained. Some sheets had holes in them. We were there for a week and it was a crap shoot on what housekeeping would clean each day. Some days there was nothing done, even when I specifically requested service. One day I had to ask three times to get trash service and towels. Some days we got new towels but no washcloths. Some days new towels but trash wasn't taken out. We had to go to the front desk several times for toilet paper, sheets, cups (never in plastic to indicate they were new) and towels. We had to buy a fan because the AC on one side of the room did not cool. There were also no lights in half the room. In a time where being clean and sanitary is so important I was shocked at how unclean things were. Seriously, throw away stained sheets and towels. No one wants to use those.

They don’t have any security in the hotel. My friends stayed for the weekend in this hotel, and a man broke into their room at 3am Harassing them. They had no support from the hotel staff, and in the next day when they talked to the manager about what happened he didn't care about at all.
So for your safety stay away from this hotel.

Started off with reservation at the TRYP by Wyndham in Times Square. We were told that this hotel was under construction so we would be moved to the Paul Hotel, WHICH BY THE WAY SEEMS TO BE INACCURATE AS I CAN BOOK ON THE TRYP WYNDHAM TIMES SQUARE SITE TODAY, less than two days after our trip ended. After reviewing further on Yelp, you can see many others have experienced the same treatment, yet the Wyndham remains open. We said ok and wish we hadn't. When I booked my room through Hotwire, I was not given the chance to select room type and there were three adults (not couples) in two rooms so we needed one double and one single. When we arrived at The Paul, we checked in and went to our rooms only to find two tiny single rooms. After asking if we could be moved to a double room for one of them, we were told it would be a $50 upgrade per night so I declined and let them know how ridiculous that was, considering their online price difference was only $17. We ended up suffering through two adult women sleeping together for an entire week… super fun. The lady at the desk even indicated they had a room available, go figure, since we are in the middle of COVID and NO ONE was in NYC at the time. I called Hotwire to ask for help and was given a $25 credit, which I guess is better than nothing but still not satisfactory.

The customer service at this hotel is horrible. Since the COVID19 pandemic news and the lockdowns I have been trying to cancel our trip for the end of March. Not only is it impossible to speak with someone, but when you do they are very unprofessional. We finally reached the women (there’s only 1) in charge of reservations and she took the money for our 1st night and is holding the money for our other 5 nights. She said we can only reschedule our trip for later this year and if fees change we have to pay extra.
We have tried time and time again to explain that with our schedules, and the worldwide pandemic… we can not reschedule our trip for 2020.
Please resolve this issue and give us a FULL refund.

I have stayed here more than once in the last year. Each time the staff has been friendly and professional. We were given free drinks and breakfast for our anniversary stay-a nice gesture on their part. Location is convenient to Penn Station, and you are able to store your luggage if you arrive before your room is ready, or check out before your train leaves. On one occasion we were able to check in early.
Rooms are clean and comfortable. I have stayed in a king room and the family suite. Both were to our satisfaction.

Nice hotel and staff. Rooms are nice and spacious. Beds suck… Imagine stacking stiff cardboard boxes and that's what it more or less feels like. Also there's a really slippery piece of "floor" between the room and the bathroom… I almost slipped and died (maybe not died… But close) on it because I didn't expect it at all.

Good location. Room was pleasant but very frightening when someone was able to unlock our door while we were sleeping. They could not get in with the safety lock across door. Never found out if it was housekeeping around 5:30 a. M. Who else could have the key that worked on our door. Difficult to get ahold of housekeeping manager. Never responded to our call.

Great place to stay! Close to Times Square, great service, and they even let you leave your bags there if you arrive early before check in and want to go explore a little! That was so nice because we arrived early but couldn’t lug around our 5 suitcases!

WOULD have been nice to have a complimentary breakfast. And the bed was as hard as a rock so if you like softer beds this isn’t the place for you. Also not overly friendly staff.

Easy access to the A/C/E lines, close to lots of food. The hotel is clean and the bathrooms are lovely. Breakfast is not complimentary, and I would recommend plenty of other local breakfasts close by over it. Looks like there are drinks and food at the bar, but didn't try. Family friendly rooms with bunk beds.

Very nice room for the price in NY City. Be sure to find the right hotel because there are 3 Wyndham's in this area. Out taxi driver took us to the wrong one initially. Wish they at least had coffee for breakfast.

I really liked this place. The room was clean and it’s located in a great location in Manhattan. It’s extremely convenient. However, I have two issues. 1. Breakfast is not complimentary and that’s ok, but they offer you buffet style breakfast that’s literally only consisted of two things and it $16. 2. We were told we can pay $55 for overnight parking in the garage and we opted for that option. Next morning we checked out and we paid the $55 at the concierge, but when we got our car, the guys charged us an extra $15 because it’s an “SUV”.

This "hotel" does not even deserve one star. Extremely small, surrounded by homeless people and a shelter, a total dump. I paid $400 for one night, NO room service, SUPER small. Disgusting absolute dump. At this rate, there are amazing hotels in the heart of the City that I've stayed, this place is trash! When asked about breakfast, THE EMPLOYEE said, STAY AWAY! Are you kidding me? Pictures are to follow. Avoid!

A great simple hotel. Nice details in the decoration. An amazing bathroom (ah, if all hotels give the attention this one gives to the bathrooms the world will be a much better place) and much, much more important than everything else. Attentious and gentle employees.

I've been here four days and I'm thrilled. The room was great and well maintained as the whole hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I also ate 2 x supper there — tip, the TBone steak attractions like Time Square nearby and for things like liberty stature or 9/11 the subway take. On the 35th where the hotel is, is directly NE station "Penn Station".

He only has one good thing. Location for the rest the kitchen is really poor and the cleanliness of the room no comment does not just change the wipes and make the bed.

Mali at the front desk was particularly helpful. A standout in customer service. Thank you! A rather large Negative for me was the exceptionally "thin" walls, allowing little privacy, and the noises from the next room to be very disturbing and loud. Also, the bathtub drain was extremely slow. So much so that I was standing in above ankle deep water before I could finish my 5-10 minute shower.

This hotel is located right next door to a police station so you get a lot of traffic from NYPD the rooms are just spacious enough to sleep in but not hang out in. Hotel service was pretty good. The concierge suggested a good place to eat. We had to have the hotel hold our bags when we first arrived and they forgot to give us our ticket making it seem like we were the ones in the wrong however they were the ones who made the mistake. There is a small restaurant attached within the lobby making it convenient to have a drink however it's only open till 11 p. M. And breakfast is not provided.

Good location Would go back for a next trip.

The room was spacious. But the extra bed (a sofa bed for two) had a mattress that was noticed all the materials and layers that had. Downtown.

Very well placed, own affordable price. We went down in February 2017 to 5 in a family room. Very spacious.
The only downside would be the breakfast a bit expensive.

At check-in we were told that the hotel was unfortunately booked out and we had to go to an alternative hotel. Despite valid booking confirmation! Supposedly with a comparable room, however, it was not comparable at all. After one night we could then change again on our own initiative. This must not happen. How can this hotel accept other guests even though it is already booked?! Keep your hands off me!

Great location. Spacious rooms. I would stay here again. Next time I would request a back side room. Typical NYC street noise from the front. Not too loud except I like to sleep with the window open. Staff was polite and helpful.

The hotel is in a great location. The reception/Essens-/Bar-Bereich is not particularly comfortable. Otherwise highly recommended.

Great experience. Clean room. Great price. SUPER close to the subway. Easy ride to the city. CHECK SUBWAY ROUTE for weekend to the hotel. It changes haha.

Overall a good stay. The staff are great and the location is great. Rooms are very spacious, especially for NY. Just a few blocks from the Javits. Some aspects of the room seemed poorly thought out: fridge but no microwave, wooden sink near the shower which has warped it. Somehow the bedside clock was set to the wrong time which led to me being late on the first day of my visit. Some drawbacks but I'd stay here again.

The Receptionist was not prepared to budge. Dumped cases and returned at 1pm and asked if rooms might be ready… Yes… but only if we pay 40$ surcharge as still not 3pm… so hunkered to wait in foyer for next 2 hours. Suitcase guy saw our plight and came over to see what he could do to help. Moments later the receptionist gave us the key with no surcharge… Apparently room was ready shortly after first arrival, but their policy is not to let anyone in until 3pm. Apart from that everything else was really great.

Great quality, simple but well appointed hotel in a great location. Walking distance to the ACE blue line as well as many places for breakfast and shopping. Breakfast buffet available. Downstairs bar with tvs. Very comfortable, just not super fancy. Great price.

Good attention, comfortable and clean rooms, I don't put five stars by the restaurant service as after taking the order they took an hour and a half to bring the food to the table, with incomplete cooking and wrong orders.

Staff was super friendly. Check in was easy and Elizabeth was very nice. They discounted our parking at check out $5 off a day (which wasn’t expected) so it ended up costing $45/day at Meyer’s across the street. Room was clean and large for NYC. Centrally located to everything. We walked everywhere. Little restaurant inside the TRYP serves the best chicken noodle soup. Drinks were expensive ($12/mimosa) food was inexpensive so it evened out. Only room for improvement I’d note — was the bathroom floor had weird white mold in the floor and walls in the stand-up shower. Other than that it was great.

Nice hotel, good location, comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. For putting a very small towel sticking but they put a lot and heating and air conditioning very noisy.

Great location and the service is also right.

I have prepaid the room and came to hotel in the morning and was told to come back after 3 hours so the room can be available. They never told use we need pay extra fee for check in before 3:09PM. After three hours, we came back and was told the room is available but we must pay $30 for early check in. This is the first time in my life to hear this. Usually if hotel has rooms available, then guests can check in. This hotel treat customer not as important as money! I have two small kids need to have a rest due to a long trip. The manager told me I can cancel your reservation if I do not want to pay $30. The altitude is not welcome too! Zero star, if I can leave. The time is Nov. 23, 2017.

Great location about three blocks from Penn Station/Madison Square Garden. Rooms are modern and have lots of plugs. Breakfast is not included or would I recommend it. Small hotel in a small space but the location is excellent.

Hotel was fine. Centrally located near Penn Station. Great connections to trains and subways. Shops all around. Hertz rental car across the street. Staff was friendly. There were random mosquitoes and gnats in the room though.

Good boutique hotel. The well appointed rooms are large (for NY) with hardwood floors and 'slate' tiled bathroom. Full King sized bed in my room, and decent sized desk, under which is a small refrigerator. There are 4 elevators, which is great for a hotel this size, so you don't have to wait around long The bar/restaurant is pretty quite. I never saw more than half a dozen people in it.

Good location, close to times Square and Penn subway station. It's also on a street that's very quiet so even though you're close to everything you're not exposed to the noise. I give it 3.5 stars. As with most hotels on this side of Manhattan the walls are way too thin! I'd recommend this property if you don't mind hearing everything your neighbours are doing plus if you plan to spend the day exploring the city, it won't be that much of a bother. Proximity to a police station is a plus also.

Front desk personnel were rude and unfriendly. We checked in at the normal time 3pm on a Saturday. Was not given even a "hello". Then I was told I was not going to be given the room I pre paid for. I paid for a city room with two queens. I got a first floor room with a king. Will be talking to my rewards center about this. Additionally, we had to pay a 100 dollar security deposit. Not sure if this is normal and I wasn't told I would get it back. Don't recommend staying here because staff might change your room type at their convenience and not pay you the difference.

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern. It was a great location in the city with a subway station nearby and a quick walk to anywhere I wanted to go. There were some problems checking in but they were solved. I woke up one morning to loud construction outside the window but other than that, there was minimal noise. I would certainly stay here again.

Penn Station, Time Square all in close proximity. Beautiful, well-kept hotel with great rooms.

The staff were very friendly and the rooms were lovely. In a short time you will be on foot in Times Square.

Everything super clean and neat, cool rooms and cool lobby. Location is perfect for any NYC exploration! Very satisfied.

My family and I traveled from TN to vacation for a week in NYC. Upon arrival, we were informed that our room reservation had been voided due to an error made by an employee who did not register our credit card for deposit with a third party reservation service. They got us two rooms on separate floors, saying we would have our room the next day. Coming back from a day exploring NYC, we found that the room they put us in was still not the room we booked. We tried again to get the room we wanted, and they do not have it available, but they made appropriate accommodations for us. The location is good, the subway is close, and the staff are all very friendly. The gym is open 24/7 but consists of a few treadmills, some medicine balls, tethered weights, and a stationary bike in a small room. There is a small bar in the lobby and plenty of seating should you want to relax for awhile. There is also a patio on the top floor with a table and chairs. I give four stars because of our hassle with the room and the gym's lack of equipment, but I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay much more should you avoid these problems.

Good quality/quantity rate. Very kind staff and near Central Park. If you go there you'll repeat the experience.

I like the room especially for families. Bunk beds were great hit with kids. Very clean. A few issues though only 1 desk person to check people in, shower door didn't close in bathroom and lastly concierge misguided us about a bus tour. Made us go to a worker on the streets to get vouchers and he lost out on the commission. Not sure if hotel or busing companies fault but felt bad for the guy on the street he did most of the work. Gave him the tip instead of concierge!

The room is nice looking over all. The beds are comfortable. The tub plug was broken. The security latch was broken. You can hear everything going on next door. The workout room is tiny, pull up bar is a couple inches from the ceiling, so useless.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room should have been cleaned better. A dirty pillow case had been left in the room and area between the sink and shower had dusk, hair and hair ties in it. Room as a whole wasn't bad, decent bed and pillows. Internet service was horrible, both Wi-Fi and wired. There were times that even basic Web and email traffic timed out or were unavailable.

Lovely hotel, rooms are wonderful, beds felt great, staff was very helpful and polite. In a good location, parking right across the street, subway access on the corner a few feet away, had a great experience.

Amazing room. We stayed in the Samsung room — the biggest room I've ever stayed in while overnight in nyc. Clean room, quiet and great price. I could not ask for more.

Need to come to NY from California for medical appts at Sloan Kettering a deal on TravelZoo came up for $99 per night. The hotel was clean, stylishly decorated with very kind people working at the hotel. We were unloading from the shuttle, my husband's luggage was tipping over and out of nowhere a hotel employee ran up and grabbed the luggage from falling into the slushy snow. We felt so lucky to find this place at such a reasonable price. It's centrally located in NY. Very happy we found it!

Amazing. Giant room for an incredibly cheap price. Quiet and clean, showers very roomy. Good temperature and friendly staff. Would recommend!

Hip hotel. Accommodations were nice enough. At night the water in the shower wouldn't get hot, and it took about 4 hours before the crib we requested was brought to the room.

TRYP is a wonderful hotel. It's small but modern rooms are nice. The location is great! The bar in the lobby makes good drinks and has fun happy hour specials.

Location: on eighth avenue right near Penn station. ACE train station on the same block. Convenient. Rooms: we had the "family room". It has one bedroom, a living room with a pullout bed and bunk beds, as well as two full bathrooms. It's pretty spacious. Service: the service is good. No complaints.

Great hotel and staff that made us feel very welcome. Room was excellent and had everything that we needed. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the location on 35th Street, when walking from 8th or 9th avenue especially at late night, you do feel a little vulnerable as this is a top class hotel in an area that is still slightly below par, but this would not put me off returning in the future.

Might be one of the worst hotels i've ever stayed in. Woke up this morning to construction in the hallway at 8am… Men were out there tearing off wallpaper… sounded like they were tearing down walls not paper! You can't even buy a bottle of water for your room. The shower and bathroom is SO small… forget it if you are over 150lbs, i'm only 110 and can barely fit. I called the front desk to have someone come up and look at my ac unit as its now screwed in a squeaks… the lady at the front desk cut me off, said hold on and then hung up on me. Why are you open if you are still under construction and WHY do you have people staying on the floors that are being worked on?

Really enjoy staying at this hotel. Great rooms, great atmosphere. Only downside of this hotel is if you are street facing. It is right next to a police substation and if your room is facing the street you are likely to hear all the 3am crazies who have been arrested.

I stayed at this hotel the bought before Christmas Eve, and my wife left $500 cash in the safe of our room. She planned to use this money on last-minute gifts but forgot to retrieve it. She only noticed upon returning to Philadelphia on Xmas Eve. We immediately called the hotel and spoke to a manager. He told us the staff would check the following day, once the room was vacated. The next morning, a representative called to tell us the money had been located. We offered to drive up to NYC to retrieve the cash but were assured a check could be sent instead. Nearly a month later, I am still waiting. I have called the hotel multiple times and even sent two family members who were visiting New York. We have all been told a check would be sent. As of today, however, I am still waiting on confirmation a check is in the mail. I have written several travel guides and blogged for travel sites, and understand the importance of treating customers respectfully before and after they visit a hotel. For this reason, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent stay. The staff, the room, location were all outstanding. I highly recommend the Tryp NYC.

Bad experience. Parking $ 10 per day, but the most important thing you have to pay every time when in and out. Wi-Fi practically does not work. Never again.

We loved the place. Staff was exceptionally nice and friendly. Rooms are modern and clean. It is in the perfect spot. Close to subway and Times Square. Perfect place, highly recommend.

Two stars for these reasons only. 1 star for location. 1 star for cleanliness. — 3 stars for poor service. Consistently took longer than they said for our bags to brought up. Charged a gratuity fee during a SELF SERVE breakfast that was mediocre at best and when room service was requested, they never came. Went to lobby and the front desk did nothing to fix this. Terrible service, I'm grateful most our vacation was outside of this place.

I stayed here for a theater trip to NY our premium room was AMAZING. There were two queen beds, a wet bar, a pull out sofa and two bathrooms which made it very convenient for all of us staying there. The design of the room was also very modern and and nice. The tapas bar and cocktail area was also very lovely. The mixologist prepared some fabulous drinks and a friend and I enjoyed the food as well. The location was also very convenient to the bolt bus stops, subway, theater district, times square, garment district, hells kitchen, etc. It was a great location and an even better experience.

Hotel location was excellent, in the heart of New York.
The hotel staff is very nice and they are always attentive to what you need.
As paste that building materials do not filter the noise between the rooms and air conditioning is very very noisy.
