Although the restaurant and bar are under renovation, the front desk staff have been phenomenal check in was a breeze room is clean and nice. The 17th floor not much of a view (a water tower) but it's New York and who spends time in their hotel… wine and sweets at the front desk for Valentines day. Restaurant across the street was fabulous with great drinks. Marion was a fantastic help with my Valentunes Day presents that got shipped to the hotel. Would recommend. Need a mini fridge for my left overs though.

First of all, one eof the front desk employees was extremely rude to me, due to their mix up on my reservation. I found bugs in the restroom and the shower floor was dirty. The rooftop bar and the kitchen were closed for remodeling. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. I saw The maid clean the toilet with a white towel and cleaned the counters and shower with the same towel. I will definitely not come back.

Enjoyed my stay. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Room was very nice.

Room wasn’t ready after I paid extra to get in early, it was ready half an hour after regular check in. “A pillow was missing”. Which is true, because someone barged into the room with it without knocking. He asked if we could use anything and asked for two buckets of ice and two more glasses. While we waited for that we realized the “skyline view” I paid extra for wasn’t more than an old water tank on the buildings rooftop. The room also had a little bonus of a dirty hairbrush. One bucket of ice came, we asked about the other bucket and cups. Those cake later when they retrieved the hairbrush. Some nice melted ice and dirty glasses. I’ve been with Hilton Honors for years, but I’ll NEVER stay here again.

But not at that price.
Sorry guys, you have lost it throughout the years.
Worn down, dirty and a staff whom seems to be ”new at work”.
I have spent many nights here, but now will I only come back for the rooftop bar, and the location.

Absolute service disgrace since check-in and upon checkout.
Made several in house guest complaints without any resolution of the problems. 1) Upon check in Marian the manager gave me a no view room instead of a city view room like previously asked. Only later when I complained they changed it.
Upon chekout Christine the receptionist told me boldly that I am wasting her time because I requested luggage assistance! They sent me someone on the door and I asked them to wait a sec…ond but they didn't and left.
Then she called again from reception to tell me that when they knocked I said no I do not want the service! 2) Tim the manager, seeing me so furious of the attitude instead of calming me down he on the other hand told me that I am not going to get past him and told me to leave. 3) I had to call the police to deal with the front office. 4) When I asked for room service they told me they close at 11pm. The next day when I asked room service to bring me plates and cutleries they sent me cartoon and plastic ones. Then when complained about it they sent me small plates only. Then finally I got what I asked for but after I finished dinner. Rubbish!

As a long time SPG/Marriott traveler, never even considered a Hilton or its families of hotels. After this stay, I would definitely consider changing-up a bit. Rooms are nice, elevators are fast, staff is wonderful and location as it relates to my office is phenomenal.

Clean crisp rooms, perfect for two plus an infant. No tub for bathing the littlw one, but the sink worked just fine. Great location for being near the shops in Chelsea and FIT museum. Would definitely come again.

Super lovely hotel. The rooms are Very Lovely. Comfort Beds. Environment is date and secured. Staffs are Smart and are attentive to customers. In general the hotel is beautiful and a good place to lodge. I love it so much.

Stayed at the Hilton this past weekend and enjoyed my stay except for the fact that the rooftop area is only available to adults. Didn’t see that on the website. I just assumed it was a place to have drinks and get snacks. The room was very comfortable and clean, staff was friendly and I thought location was okay, a bit of a long walk to Times Square bit being a walker I didn’t mind. I was not thrilled with the Rare restaurant bar area because I prefer a hotel lobby bar rather than a stand alone restaurant. I always enjoy coming back to a hotel after a long day and relaxing at a rooftop area or lobby lounge area with drinks. Didn’t feel the Rare was a relaxing place like that. Other than that nice hotel.

Went to the rare view restaurant (group of 4 people) and had a wonderful time. The meal was a contemporary spin off of typical dishes. I had a tuna steak sandwich and it was delicious. I also enjoyed the presentation of the basket of fries along with the complementary sauces they serve it with. I'd like to go back and try something else off their menu.

Hotel is OK for the New York and not super overpriced compared to others. There are a few things to remember: make sure, you get north side of the building to have a better view, cook to order breakfast is cheaper, but takes almost 25 minutes to get it… even when you arrive at 6:30 AM… Be careful and check receipt, it may already includes tips.

Great location. Close to subway stops and the ESB. Very upscale rooms. Larger than typical NYC rooms. The attached restaurant Rare, has awesome food, esp if you like meat. The rooftop bar has great views and wide drink selection. If a sunny day, get there early. Rooms are clean. The staff is great.

Great location, and usually at competitive prices. The rooms feel small, but normal for Manhattan. :) You can order a mini fridge for your room (free). Bathrooms are functional, with good water pressure in the shower. There is a chipotle downstairs, and whole foods across the road. Rooms have all the amenities you might expect at a Hilton.

Very nice hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Good restaurant and room service was fast and efficient. Had a good view of Empire State Building. Only pet peeve was that I wasn't able to use the fridge as it was completely used as a mini bar.

Having stayed here for business for over a long period of time, I have the smallest of concerns over that time period. And if it was mentioned, would seem very trivial. As a 500K per year F-Flier I do a lot of hotels. The breakfast thing is a big bone of contention for me. But the people here, rooms, overall cleanliness is stellar. You have a lot of choices for a bed in midtown. This is one one the 'keepers'. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Very clean and I liked the quarters. The bathroom and shower were spectacular.

Though the rooms are super tiny (even an upgraded one), they are immaculate, modern and we'll appointed. The team is fantastic — polite, friendly and helpful. Parking is valet. Location is perfect for anything in and arong Chelsea. Rooftop bar with retractable roof and a meat lovers restaurant on the ground floor.

The service is very poor, the rooms are clean, the room is very small.

Good price for the location and being in NYC. Walking distance from lots of attractions (depending on how much you wish to walk. ) The subway station nearby can take you pretty much anywhere you wanted to go. Made my first trip to NYC very enjoyable because I got a great nights rest every night in The wonderful beds! The resteraunt in the lobby of the hotel was nice and the breakfast selection was very good.

I absolutely enjoyed my time at this hotel! Really great service! The hotel room was clean and I love the art themes! The Rooftop Bar was really awesome and what a view of the city, especially of the Empire State Building! Great bartenders! Really wonderful staff!

It was a nice modern hotel, room was a bit small for 4 people sharing not much hanging space for clothes, but it was clean. Staff very friendly, especially when we arrived early hours of the morning. Easy to get to from JFK, but for us it was a little bit too far out from Times Square.

Loved the room the view was great and I love how the parking is right down the block. Great for a two people stay. It was very clean! bed was comfy. Only thing I can complain about was our room service took forever. I only wanted ice and it took an hour to get. Other than that I would defiantly stay here again.

Central to everything! Very clean and cozy. Temperature in the room is great. Amazing views! The only thing missing is a tub (there's a really nice all-glass shower with adjustable shower head. Cleaning service is very good, left me extra towels every day. Did I mention it's next to everything? 5th avenue, Madison Square, plenty of food options close by (including gluten free options). Would suggest to anyone!

The hotel was nicely decorated and overall pretty clean. However, I took away several stars because of some things I consider to be fairly basic that were lacking. We stayed from 1/12-1/15 and it was very cold in NYC. The water temperature in the shower was lukewarm, at best. Additionally, the heater was very hard to get working. My brother had to tamper with it several times and it would magically turn on. There was one night we couldn't get it to turn on. I also received an expired food item from the mini bar. Another big turn off of the hotel was the customer service. I tried calling down to the front desk several times during my stay and the phone was never answered. They also have a rooftop bar, which is an appealing touch, but the waitresses stood around and seemed to be chatting/gossiping instead of tending to us. When we left the bar, the elevator had a sign posted next to it that read "Do not push the button", with a wooden block covering the button to call the elevator. My brother and I walked around the bar aimlessly for about ten minutes looking for another way down, until finally a woman who worked there came running up. Apparently, she was supposed to be posted at the elevators to allow us down. Overall, I would not recommend staying here if you desire a visit full of luxury, comfort, and convenience.

This hotel is a perfect location right in the centre of the action, not too close to Times Square and the crazy prices. If you're a tourist then you're close to the Empire State building and Herald Square and only a 15 minute walk to Times Square. If you're looking for a Hilton with more of the usual creature comforts, then you're going to have to pay considerably more money. There's no swimming pool or spa service, there's no 24 hour room service menu (finishes at 11pm) and there's no Executive Lounge unfortunately. Having said that the staff are wonderful and very courteous… Would stay here again!

Hotel located in a quiet area 5 minutes from Madison Square Garden and 10-15 minutes walk from Times Square.
Our room was spacious enough for 3. Anyway, what more could you ask for? Can be a little more heating in the restaurant room.

The room was very clean and quiet. We stayed two nights and the staff was very welcoming. Parking was discounted, we ended up paying under $100 for two nights after getting validated, which is an absolute steal. There's a TON of great places around this hotel, we had a nice view of (half) of the Empire State building, which was only a couple blocks away. Lots of metro stops nearby makes going anywhere easy, from the hotel it took us only 35 minutes to get to the barclay center from the room. There are loads of places to eat and shop in the area, but I'd wait for warm weather to plan a day out.

The hotel is an 8 minute walk from Penn Station. All kinds of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel food is good, the staff is friendly, and overall I enjoyed my stay. There is also a rooftop bar that is open seasonally. It's above the 22 floor and offers a nice view of the city.

The view is really not the one we expect… Disappointed.

The front desk was so friendly, warm, and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and it was very quiet. They were also a very nice size for NYC. We had little kids and were able to get our room early for naps. They were great with the children. We would definitely stay there again.

What a great location to stay. Right in the heart of NY with Times Sq close, with the High Line mere metres away and with cracking eateries. Redo try Brgr around the corner it’s excellent. The staff here are lovely, friendly and accommodating so be nice and you’ll get extra coffee in the mornings.

Hilton Honors member. Stay at many hotels often. For the price, underrated. Customer service is good. Rooms are tiny, bathrooms are tiny. Poor lighting in rooms. Got a handicap accessible room and it is too small to pass a wheelchair around the bed. Elevators are fairly slow. Adjoining restaurant, RARE, is nice but overly expensive for primarily hamburgers that they serve.

Elevators way too slow for a hotel of this size. Gym was fine. Breakfast was good. Was given two DIFFERENT Vouchers for me and my 1 guest… Had to get that fixed and they gave us both the "lesser" voucher… As a diamond? No refrigerator in the room, except for a fully filled computerized mini bar that will charge you if you move anything. No ice machines or ice buckets. Small room. Found street parking for the weekend instead of paying. Decent service. Clean.

Great place to stay in NYC, close to everything and Walking distance to Times Square (15 mins), Macy’s Herald square (7 mins) and Central Park (1 hour). Great restaurants surround the area. Overnight Parking is expensive, but you don’t need a car if you are planning to stay in Manhattan. I was having some issues but everything addressed immediately. I had to change the room since the initial room was too small and with bags and stroller we can’t even walk inside. Also lots of noise at night (it was close to elevators). Both rooms were very clean and equipped with everything necessary. They did the change without charge.
Tip: if you are traveling with kids request from the beginning a room FAR from the elevators, otherwise you will have a lot of noise.
Definitively, will stay here again!

Had a room on the top floor facing north, the view was decent, though the south side view is much better! The ac/heater is quite old and the fan turns on and off all night if it's on. There was a squeaky sound above my room as well 24/7. Shower was nice enough, and elevators were easy and fast.

The overall experience was great! The hotel rooms were clean, comfortable and modern. The only minor gripe was having TV issues, but they were addressed. I also appreciated that the room service personnel we're personable. Would absolutely return for another stay!

Very nice hotel, have stayed here twice. Only complaint is noise — rooms are not noise proofed, could hear doors slamming in the hallways from a roudy group down the hall at all hours in middle of the night. Otherwise it's a great hotel, clean, new, convenient, stylish, simple. Nice lobby bar and roof top bar (busy).

Good location, if the fashion district meets your needs; you have most of lower Manhattan close by. My room was pretty spacious by NY standards, well appointed with a comfy bed. I got some noise coming from outside, even on the 8th floor, which again seems pretty standard for NY. I think the deciding factor on whether to stay here may be one of style. With fashion in the name of the hotel, they follow through with swish decor and an ambience that says 'casual shirt' rather than 'jeans and t-shirt' to me.

Had No drink good rum of poor quality, didn't have aperol.

Stayed at this hotel as it is on the same street as The Wendy Williams Show! Prices were reasonable for the area, as well as location was perfect. Was close to everything that we needed. On the day that we checked out, the hotel staff if we needed our luggage stored until we left out. This was great because we weren't scheduled to leave until later in the day, this gave us a chance to explore the city some more without the hassle of carrying our bags. Decor is also very beautiful as it is the Fashion District!

Had dinner with out of town friends at Rare Bar & Grill inside the Hilton. Chose this place on recommendation by another friend that it would be kid-friendly, and it was. Food was pretty good, bar-type food, lots of fried items though, and not a ton of healrhy choices. Nice drink list. Waiters both in the bar and in the restaurant were top-notch: friendly, efficient, and went out of their way for our group. It was a laid-back, casual place that was a nice find in Manhattan.

Clean rooms. Rooftop bar is subpar at best. It's mostly covered and the drinks were underwhelming. If you want a rooftop drink go to 230 5th street not rare.

I’m really surprised by the slow & incapable customer service at this hotel, and the lack of accountability when they make a mistake. I mainly dealt with Skylar Siminovsky regarding an issue where the desk in the room had left black stains on a fairly expensive pair of pants that I own. I was originally told I could file a claim for the damages. Every email took days to get a response and in the end, after having me send pictures of the damage to “prove” it and a lengthy and slow correspondence, they stopped responding to my emails and refused to let me submit a claim. I run a business, and when we make a mistake, we make it right. We keep our customers that way. They fail to incorporate this into their “hospitality” business whereas other hotels knock it out of the park. Not all Hilton’s are created equal, and I’d pass on this one!

Good hotel. Good location. Great service. Breakfast situation is strange though if you have status and expect a decent breakfast that's not the hotel. After digging online I found out that the hotel doesn't own the restaurant. The rooftop bar is amazing too!

Had a great stay during a 3-day work trip. Staff was extremely nice and happy to help at every turn, and the rooms are above-average for similarly priced NYC hotels. The location is fantastic with plenty to walk to and subway options close by. The bed was comfy, but the gym was a bit small with only 2 treads, 1 bike and 1 elliptical. Restaurant for breakfast is pretty efficient, and the hhonors continental breakfast is good for light eaters. (Only $7 to upgrade to full buffet, though it is pretty average. ) Based on my experience, I'm moving this up to the top of my NY Hilton list and will try to stay here whenever my expense policy allows!

I stayed here before a long time ago. Came back again for a work function. Experience was definitely meh. When I arrived the front desk person did not ask me if I had status (which I do) she didn't give me my welcome gift, my breakfast coupons or a little goodie bag my company left for me. I had to go back down twice, once for the goodie bag and once for the breakfast. I stayed in room 604 which had a very weird, creaking/dripping noise one night and the fire/stairs door is so loud it woke me up every time someone opened it during the night. Finally paid $10 for fried oreos which were delicious during my company's catered lunch but when I bought from the restaurant they were really soggy and gross. Still a nice hotel but little things made me feel like I didn't get 5 star service.

Lovely clean hotel, friendly staff and an amazing view from the roof top bar. Down side is I have been waiting 10 days so far for the hotel to refund €150 to my account, I have been continually messaging the hotel but not getting any information from the hotel regarding this matter!

Used coffee cup in room, lotion shampoo and soap in bathroom were half empty! Comforter and sheets in bed were dirty, stained and not sure if they were even washed. Guest services replaced and fixed things but still uneasy with the thoughts of other germs and things we came in contact with.

Marion Rock is the BOMB! Thank you thank you for your hospitality… for making me feel at home. My family will be so appreciative because you took the time see beyond any issues that might arise once they get here. It's one thing to check a customer into the hotel. Go through your normal questions. But its another thing to see beyond your normal stay and think about the space for a family of four.

I stay in a hotel in the city 2 or 3 weekends a month, and have stayed in many different hotels. I really liked this hotel. The staff was very receptive (thank you Skylar) and the room I had on the 18th floor was spotless and appeared to have been decorated the day before. The location is right in the middle of the city and convenient to anything you may want to see or do. I will make the Hilton Fashion District my go to hotel from now on. I plan on being a guest there again this weekend.

Good location in the heart of Chelsea, room is decent size. We are on 4th floor and do notice road noise. Staff have been helpful but I found it hard to get in touch with the hotel directly before we arrived so that was annoying. But cost and location are spot on for us.

First, clerk told me I was only booked for 1 queen bed. Receptionist said they no long had 2 bed rooms although I booked and was charged for it! Went to room checked my account, found email conformation and I booked 2 a week before! Talked to someone else who pulled my reservation and someone changed it in the computer but I still had all emails. She helped and found 2 beds. Stayed 1 night returned home and realized that all 5 of us that stayed in the room had BED BUG BITES! No parking used parking garage they recommended. Not only was my tablet stolen out of my car but also $10 in quarters. As a visitor I will never recommend this hotel to anyone ever! Horrible service!

Staff is very hospitable. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Rooms are not the biggest but in comparison to what is in NY, it is ideal. Great location as well.

Pros: Good location and nicely situated between midtown area and the village and other downtown locations. The staff were excellent and every employee I encountered was very happy and pleasant, something I associate with a healthy work environment behind the scenes. The rooms were NORMAL — they were clean and comfortable but not amazing. The roof top is okay, but not comparable to a place like The Jimmy. I was able to check in 2 hours early and out at 1230 so once again service was excellent. Cons: The views out weren't that great and the street the hotel exits out on isn't a nice one. The room won't blow your mind, but don't forget what you are paying. The roof top wasn't impressive. The location was good but did require a short walk to subway. Summary: Would definitely stay again due to good prices and stellar service.

Pros: clean rooms, comfortable beds, modern furnishings, better than average gym — good for a business traveler. They will hold luggage until 11PM on the day of checkout, close to restaurants and bars. The hotel's rooftop bar is very nice. Cons: Thin walls, noisy hallways. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper and be sure to request a high floor. I stayed here for a week and would definitely stay again.

It is supposed to be good hotel, rude receptionist and very disappointing service. Hilton is supposd to be a good hotel, but we were so disgusted by very rude receptionist and their poor service. We made a reservation of two bedroom online and already paid for it. When we checked in, the receptionist abruptly asked me "Do you want to have dinner or breakfast? ", I replied "No, we already had dinner tonight and I am not sure for breakfast, since we may check out early next morning. Why? " She just said "We do not have two bedroom today, the only room you can stay is one king bedroom". What? I certainly made a reservation for two bedroom and paid for that, that did not make any sense. I claimed I have a reservation for it and four family member can not stay in one bedroom, but she just replies, "No, we do not have the two bedroom anymore, you just can choose free dinner or breakfast". I suggested the she should prepare extra small bed or couch, but she even declined to offer it. Then we had to choose to have breakfast and stay on one king bedroom in four family members. We somehow handled with it just because my kids are still young, though, this receptionist is very rude and the service is very dissapointing, we would never stay here again.

Had to travel back to NY for business for one night. This is a small but good hotel. SUPER friendly desk staff. They were always smiling (and not in a fake way). Small — the entrance/foyer area is small and the rooms are small. It's NEW YORK! Using every square foot. BUT, it's not so small that it's uncomfortable. My room faced the street/front of the hotel. The beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean. The shower was "awkward" in that the door opened INTO the shower (would have been better if it was on sliders). So you jump in to cut the water on and JUMP back out to let it get warm (otherwise you are under cold water). Also, don't get a room in the front: the garbage trucks and traffic honk horns ALL NIGHT. I used earplugs to sleep. The HVAC system location: It was COLD in NY the night I stayed and the HVAC system went from HOT to drafty (when it cut off). I realized that there was a draft around the HVAC system location (in window), though the control/sensor was on the opposite wall. So, once the room became "of temp", it took a while for that draft/colder temps to reach the wall. This bothered me and I didn't get a a good night's sleep because of the fluctuating temps because of cold draft vs heat. Luckily, I was only staying one night or I would have asked to switch rooms. This hotel is located right between 7th and Ave of Americas (between 23rd and 28th street subway stops). GREAT location and because it's in the center of it all, it can be a little noisy.

Bad hot drink machine in room. Why not just give a kettle?! Paid more for a high level floor, but the room backed onto the noisy elevator shaft. No free Wi-Fi, $15 a day! Had to leave the hotel to get Wi-Fi. If you want a room with a bath, you need to pay more. Restaurant food and location of hotel good, handy for our first trip to NYC. Rooftop bar had good views, but with bad music. Staff were helpful, but the facilities were all charged and not the the standard we have received in other Hiltons in other countries. Overall not our kind of hotel, will spend more time looking for a boutique next time. Will not be staying here again.

For a comparable price, you can get a stunning hotel in Manhattan. It's a great location with fabulous views on the top floors though. But the elevators are a nightmare and hardly work right, and the price for Wi-Fi is insanity, especially considering similar hotels in the area offer free Wi-Fi for guests.

Great location for just about anything you want to do. Chelsea is blocks away for a more relaxed experience or the hustle and bussle of downtown Manhattan is just outside the lobby. View of Empire State building was worth the upgrade request and the staff were fast, attentive, and incredibly accomodating. I booked another night as I was checking out and they were able to give me my new room immediately without any issue. 4 stars, because the room size was somewhat lacking, but for NY and the price. It was still incredible. I wish I could live there.

Like many hotels in NY, quite expensive but at least decent size rooms with 20 min walk to Times Square. High floor rooms have a pleasant view to Empire State Building even from the 22nd floor you can still hear the street sounds. Unfortunately, Wifi internet is not free in the rooms costs like 13 or 17 dollars a day "per device"! Last thing about the room is they have these mini fridges which are automatically charging you for drinks and snacks which means there is no space for you to put your stuff in the fridge. Even though in the basement they have a decent gym of their own with 2 treadmills, one elliptic trainer and some weights.

By the time I got there with my reservation, they sold the room to someone else : (They said they would find another hotel nearby without apologizing at all. I didn't see the manager being sorry for what they have done. Bad service with mediocre location. I would never go back to this location never ever.

Great location — very easy to get around with subway close by and Penn Station a short walk. Tipped on check in to receive 2 weeks worth of Wi-Fi for daily price. Like Alex's review below, also got scammed by the doorman and put into a black cab. We did our laundry across the road — think a whole weeks worth of clothing was under $10.
