This is a nice family owned business. I stayed at the dormitory in order to save money, and I could hear hear people walking on the floor on the room above. But I slept well with ear plugs ;-) Both tenants and staff were very nice and the place felt safe. There is also a kitchen and basic supplies provided for free. All in all I enjoyed my experience. I would recommend it to people who value atmosphere over a "new" looking space.

SnowMansion was a groovy experience for sure! The atmosphere was great! The entire place was home like an very clean! The people there were extremely chill an laid back! & such GREATTT vibes thru out:)

I had a very special room in the Pearl with a wonderful balcony. Extremely reasonable and walking distance to all the little gems of Arroyo Seco. Don't miss the gardens. 18 years of composting, planting, and weeding on almost 5 acres by a master gardener and her devoted students.

What can we can we say! It's a ski house, very very clean, floors are noisy but this place is the place to stay to save money and beclosr to the ski area. Bring your own food and clean up after yourself!

If you're near Taos in this town called Arro Seco you will not do wrong by choosing this place to stay. Everything is spotless clean, healthy, super super friendly host, great prices, great food and if you're lucky and are there on the winter solstice you may even have a chance to do a authentic sweat lodge out back with the local Native Americans. We prayed for snow and the next morning it was a winter wonderland full of snow.

I have had a great time in this Hostel, the owners are very friendly and flexible. The rooms are clean and the DIY breakfast is of very high quality. I also appreciated the social interaction with the guests in the communal area's. In short, great place and very nice people.

Very cute friendly and affordable spot, especially for a group. You get a room with a long bed and several bunks. The managers are really nice, and provided hot cocoa, and plenty of stuff to make breakfast with. For sure will go again if I'm ever back this way.

Unpleasant place. Visited there and that old owner lady was very rude as if she got some visceral anger in her.

Was really nice and fun to hang out, small nice town, one street, and has a fancy resturant in the back with locals coming to play guitar at night around a fire. Has amazing sunsets.

Great location in Arroyo Seco. Friendly helpful staff. Not your traditional hotel, with more of a communal feel.

Had a lovely stay. The rate seemed slightly inflated for hostel standards and I was quoted something lower on the phone, emailed about the increase, but never heard back. Other than that this hostel would be a great Basecamp for you Taos/NM/Rio Grande adventures.

Really nice people and experience. It's always tea time! It is rustic, and homey.

It is the coolest hostel, great vibe. Decent breakfast.

Great kitchen. Very nice staff. Wonderful common areas.

Great low cost accommodations. The ice cream place down the road is great.

SnowMansion is a really cool building from the outside! While I didn't have time to wander, it also seemed to be in a super cool little village. The inside is well kept, and the furniture and kitchen and all that is about what you'd expect. Mismatched furniture, a hodgepodge of dishes and silverware, simple cereal and coffee available for the morning. They kept some windows open upstairs, so you could hear rain and the occasional traffic, but pleasantly, not glaringly. The dorm was perfectly adequate. The bunks had definitely seen better days, but the springs were supplemented by plywood, and the old mattresses were plenty comfortable. Linens were clean, everything was well swept and mopped and such. So far, on track for a 5 star hostel. A few issues, there was seemingly no insulation above our dorm, because the room above sounded like stomping elephants. The dorm room smelled musty, even though the rest of the hostel didn't. I have to mention it, but I want to stress that Amu took it very seriously and is remedying it immediately — I woke up with bedbugs bites. There had been no signs on the mattress that they had a widespread infestation, so he and I were both surprised! But by the time I left, he was already deciding where to put the other bunkmates and how he was going to exterminate. For all that, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. I'm sure he'll have it taken care of. I hope the room is less musty and the building gets a bit of TLC.

The staff were nice and the tipi was awesome!

This place is absolutely horrible! I booked two nights here and called them the day before I left. A man picked up and we talked about the pet situation. After speaking with him I realized that they have a different policy then is actually advertised. Expedia let me cancel with no problems. I just checked my bank account and this place has charged me half of the bill. When I spoke with them I was told the manager would call me back to discuss this. Never recieved a call. I called this place at least five times. Do not go here! Spend the extra money and don't let the pictures fool you. This place is an absolute mess.

Had the basics of all we needed. The bed was comfortable and the Wi-Fi was fast. We had a child with us who complained that the bunk bed was uncomfortable and there was no television. Another inconvenience was the fact that the shower area was very small and cramped.

Great hostel! A little funky but clean, friendly and close to the mountains! Huge organic garden to eat from, private rooms with private bathrooms, semi privates and gender-specific dorms. Also outside they have these really cool teepees that you can rent in the summer. They have real beds inside so no sleeping on the ground. Cabins are small but they serve their purpose (safe, cheap, private). Some people were camping on the grounds too so I think that's allowed. The owners are really cool and do everything possible to make sure everyone is happy. Interesting people to chat with and surprisingly quiet during the night. When I stayed, (with 9 nine-year old girls) they had just redone a bunch of the bathrooms so they were really nice. Would defanitly recommend!

This place is perfect, the people are amazing. Everything is relaxed, rooms are clean and tidy, you meet people from all walks of life. Everyone is helpful. This is the best place I have ever stayed.

I enjoyed being there as a guest! I loved the ambient, atmosphere, cabin like style structure inside, I loved the kitchen and the common areas… The room was clean and neat! The people there were all nice and friendly… THAT ARROYO SECO AREA HAS LOTS OF THINGS TO OFFER! Go there and enjoy yourselves!

Having already stayed in hostels overseas, I knew what to expect. This place is maintained by a rotating staff of "volunteers" who are working for their room and board on the campground, and they work hard every day to make sure that things are clean after checkout each day. Sometimes the kitchen gets overlooked in the late night or early morning hours, but seriously, I know how to wipe a counter, too! :) The staff are generally helpful, and Joan knows everything! The garden is open to roaming and foraging (and weeding, if you know what doesn't belong in each plot! ), and the vistas in Arroyo Seco are MAGNIFICENT! I also got to enjoy 2 Cheyenne sweat lodge ceremonies, and met a lot of people who my boyfriend and I refer to by the name of the city they're from! Such a hostel thing to do! hahaha. Would recommend to anyone who understands it's a hostel. ;) The main "public" shower by the kitchen DOES have weird little knobs, but works fine. The camp showers are just fine if that one's busy, but the left one is better than the right. ;)
