Review of Hotel St Francis 4*

We chose to host our destination wedding elopement and stay here. We had not only a fantastic experience with the hotel and staff, but loved the hotel's vibe and location. Staff was very professional and accommodating and it's location is perfect for being downtown and being able to walk to everything. Favorite feature is the front veranda where you can relax with a drink and it's especially lovely at night with all the candles. Here's the thing you need to know about Hotel St. Francis: it is a vintage boutique hotel and the rooms are reminiscent of rooms in Europe, which are smaller and have old fashioned windows that swing open and smaller bathrooms. But everything has been renovated and is fresh. The lobby and the rooms are all very zen and clean and modern and comfortable and yes, they are smaller than brand new modern or larger hotels. Since the hotel is modeling a monastery in design, its rooms are very simple but intimate and don't lack character. Very peaceful. This is a historic property and its charm is in the boutique style of it. If you want deluxe rooms with lots of space and wet bars en suite and giant bathrooms, then this is not the place for you. But the point is to be out enjoying Santa Fe, not spending days on end in your room. We loved exploring and coming home to our charming room and enjoying the community spaces (lobby, awesome bar, and veranda). Do forego the restaurant La Tabla De Los Santos, which is not owned by the Hotel but by a separate entity and struggles for consistency in a huge way. All in all, Hotel St. Francis offers good value and I recommend it.
